Ella was crouching down near a bush in the forest, talking to her bird friends like she normally would. She let one eat a few blueberries out of her palm, leaving a purple streak on her glove. She giggled, clearly not minding this too much. "You're quite a hungry little birdie, aren't you?" She good-naturedly asked until it hopped off of her hand and onto her shoulder.

"Oh! I suppose you can be there until I leave." Ella was slightly caught off-guard, as birds didn't usually stay there. It wasn't the first time, though, and she welcomed it warmly. "But then you'll have to go, okay? My landlord only allows me to keep one pet…"

"Would you like me to sing a song during our time together?" The girl suggested, to which the bird chirped happily, making her grin.

"A wonderful friend of feathers perched upon my shoulder, making me not need to hold her!" The feathered creature seemed to love the song as usual and rubbed her head on the human's neck.

After another hour or two, the princess had decided to head back to her apartment. "Okay, time to go now, birdie. I'm very sorry." The bird didn't budge, just as she hadn't since she perched on the shoulder. She frowned and apologetically put the animal on the ground. "Please stay."

The bird just chirped again. "Ah, well… Oh, I can't say no to you!" Ella finally caved and put a leash on the bird.

The songbird then entered her apartment building and was about to enter her room when she saw her neighbor Noah walk out of his own. "Hello there!" She greeted. "Do you like my new friend?"

The bookworm scoffed. "You know the landlord's not gonna be happy with that when she finds out, right? That's a wild animal, not a pet. Also, don't you have a cat? He's gonna eat that thing the first chance he gets." He bluntly laid out.

"I suppose so, but I'm just keeping the birdie here for a little bit! And Mittens is a well behaved little boy, so I trust him."

"Tch, yeah, good luck trying to train that thing."

"She's already very smart!" Ella praised. holding up two fingers. "How many fingers am I holding up?"

The bird chirped twice. "Good job, birdie!"

By that point, Noah had rolled his eyes and started walking away.

"Goodbye then!" Ella bid, entering her own room.

"We're gonna have so much fun together, little birdie." Ella beamed as she turned on some light, fluttery music for the two to dance to.

Day turned to night as the music gradually increased in volume thanks to the bird. Ella's moves had slowly become faster and faster during all of this.

Due to the volume of the music, the once peaceful nature of it was now starting to make it feel as if the whole apartment building was vibrating. "Sure, having fun with a bird for 8 hours." Noah snarked with a sigh next door. "Ella's the only person who can do that."

The camera then cut back to Ella, who thankfully shut off the music, exhausted. "Oh, goodness, you certainly enjoy dancing, aha! I believe that's enough for tonight. Good night!"

The singer went to her bedroom to change into her nightgown and then the bathroom to brush her teeth, humming as she did so. The bird, seeing her temporary owner gone, turned the music back on. She quickly rushed out. "Sorry, birdie, but I don't want to make too much noise for my neighbors' sake. It's 9 PM. I already feel quite guilty by allowing you here."

She re-entered her restroom and finished brushing. As soon as she spat out the toothpaste, her new pet activated the stereo a third time. Ella sighed and grabbed some rope for a makeshift leash. "Sorry, girl…" She remorsefully tied the bird's foot to her bed post. "You'll have to stay here until the morning. I'm so sorry…"

The wild animal tweeted forgivingly, but as predicted, Mittens growled at the bird as he spotted her.

"No worries, Mittens! She's a friend, and you'll never be replaced, okay, kitty? I love you." She kissed him on the head, seeming to placate the kitty for now. "Good night, everyone!" Ella got in her bed, and as soon as she tucked herself in, it was lights out for her.

The bird stared longingly at the stereo and its speakers, wanting to have fun again. She tried to fly towards it, but the makeshift rope only tugged on her foot. After a quick glance to make sure Ella and Mittens were asleep, she chewed through the rope for a while until it eventually broke off.

The animal chattered for a while as she opened the window, letting all of her bird friends inside and into Ella's living room.

"Mm, why, yes, I'd love a little more tea." Ella whispered in her slumber. Mittens stirred a bit as he awakened, trying to chase the bird, but the sleeping singer put her arm around him gently, stopping him from pursuing her. The bird laughed tauntingly before joining the others.

More and more of them went into the house until Ella's alarm rang at 6 AM, waking her up. "Good morning, Mittens! Good morning, bi-" She saw that the rope was chewed through. "Birdie?"

She shut off her alarm and went into her living room before getting dressed to see where her bird was. Indeed, she was in the living room, with several other birds near her. The room was completely trashed, save for the stereo, which was intentionally kept clean. "Where did all of you come from, little birdies?!" The singer exclaimed, more out of shock than anger.

A few of the birds came up to her and dropped some flashlights in her hands. "Hmm? Flashlights? It's quite bright in here if you turn the light on!" She helpfully suggested, doing so. The birds chirped angrily and turned it back off. "Oh, my apologies! I hadn't meant to anger you." She turned on both of the torches. "But, ah, couldn't we turn this down?"

Some of the animals made a hand shape with themselves and grabbed Ella, spinning around to make her simulate a makeshift disco ball as the loud lighthearted music continued. "Eep!" She squeaked, tugging her nightgown down slightly to not expose anything. "Please put me down!"

They had mercy and dropped Ella back to the ground, making her let go of the flashlights. "Oh, please turn this down…" She pleaded, still not sounding mad. "I really would not like to do this, but…" She approached the stereo, not realizing the staircase of birds that was recently created. Ella walked up them and fell once again. "Ouch!" She dusted off her nightgown.

"Would a song help convince you?" She asked sweetly, getting no reply. She tried anyways. "Please end this party and turn the music down, to not make all the other residents frown!"

Unfortunately, the music overtook Ella's voice. "Oh, goodness! This isn't very good." She made a beeline for the stereo and shut it off, annoying the birds more. They formed a birdcage out of themselves to capture Ella inside. "I don't believe this is how birdcages are supposed to work!"

The rest of the free birds turned the music back on as the scene switched to Noah, who was angrily holding his pillow to his head. He clearly hadn't slept all night, and was too lazy to get up and yell at Ella. Until then, that was. "17 hours of having fun with a bird?!" He angrily dialed the singer's number.

There was a cut back to the party in Ella's apartment room. A bird picked up the phone and cheeped.

"Some people want to actually, you know, sleep, but they can't because their neighbor brought a wild animal into their apartment!"

Ella, overhearing the conversation, yelled "I'm trying to! The little birdies don't want to-'' The cell phone ran out of battery, but she didn't notice until she was done speaking. "-turn it off and won't listen to my singing!"

The songbird saw that the holes between the bars were big enough to slip through, so she did so and quickly unplugged the stereo. The birds chattered angrily and pushed the button to turn it back on several times. However, nothing happened, unfortunately for them.

"Please leave, everyone! I'm sure your party was fun, but it- it's over now, okay?" Despite all this, Ella still couldn't bring herself to shout at them, and was merely begging. This only made them angry, though, and they started to dive at her with their talons. They scratched her a couple times, but she managed to shake them off and dodged any others that were aiming for her.

"Oh my! Ah, um, Mittens, where are you? There you are!" She swept Mittens into her arms and ran outside, down the stairs, and outside of the building entirely, hiding behind a bush. "I suppose you were right, kitty. Sorry for not listening to you… or, ah, or Noah. Perhaps you two were right about not letting wild animals into my home… The landlord won't allow them either way."

Due to Ella speaking, the birds managed to find her and her cat. They flew around in a circle to dive at them once again. She scratched Mittens on the head to try to calm them both down, which seemed to make the flock stop their grouping. "Hmm? They stopped? Have they forgiven me?"

The princess took her hand off of the gray feline, making the birds form a flock once again. Ella then put her hand on Mittens' head once more and scratched it again, making him purr as they stopped. She did this twice more before noticing a pattern.

"Don't stop purring, okay, kitty? They'll be out of our house soon!"

"Come on, birds! Follow me! Let's head back outside so you can be free!" Ella rhymed in an almost-singing way to the rhythm of her cat's purring.

The flock followed behind the singer and pet in a single file line as she started singing in her usual way.

"Right here, my feathered friends! I'm certainly glad we've made amends!' The princess happily began as they walked along the road until reaching the woods.

"A fun day was yesterday, full of dancing and fun, but now we're all done!" She continued, intentionally having a slightly more solemn tone to lead into her last line.

"Our time may have been short, but it was certainly sweet! And thus ends my transport, although I know your only response will be 'tweet tweet!'"

"Let's just do our best not to cry, 'cause now we have to say goodbye!" Ella concluded, dropping the birds off at the woods as she twirled the opposite direction, making sure to carefully hold onto Mittens.
