I do not own Harry Potter, only the OC
Hello guys, Badger here. It's been a short while, but I've updated this story. I had to take a while to read the previous three chapters to remember what I was doing with this story and, after a couple of rewrites here is chapter four. For those that said the Twins were absent in chapters 2 and 3, I believe, they are in this one, so enjoy. Expect the next chapters for Osiris Rising and Dumbledore's army sometime soon, depending on when I am able to write them up. Until then, I hope you enjoy this new chapter, and I will see you at the end.
Chapter 4
For the next few days, word around Hogwarts was nothing but Harry saving Hermione's life from the troll. After Hermione was dropped off at the Gryffindor Common Room, she had been asked where she was and she told them what happened. There was some doubts, until McGonagall confirmed everything when she arrived soon after to check on them. The word soon spread to the rest of the Hogwarts Houses and, within a matter of hours, the whole school knew. This annoyed Harry to no end, as girls would bat their eyelashes or brush up against him "accidentally" in the corridors, as they believe him to be a hero from a fairy tale. This went on for a few days and someone must have told their parents about what had happened, as this morning, the headline in the Daily Prophet was:
Troll Attack In Hogwarts School!
For readers who haven't heard, there has been a recent attack in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Somehow a troll had entered the school and started a reign of terror within its corridors. The foul beast entered the girls bathroom where a First Year student, Hermione Granger was residing, alone, scared and missing home. She was helpless against the troll, but she was rescued by her saviour, Harry Potter, brother to the Boy-Who-Lived. Harry was like a knight in shining armour, saving Hermione and stopping the troll single handily. He was a brave hero.
However this does bring questions on the level of security at Hogwarts, which is supposed to be the safest place in Magical Britain. If this is true, how could a troll enter the castle without anyone knowing? Surely the Headmaster would know if such a thing were to happen?

Harry couldn't help but roll his eyes slightly, as he put his copy down and turned back to his breakfast, ignoring the amount of staring coming his way.
"They're over exaggerating the whole thing aren't they?" Harry said, in a half question, half statement, tones
"Well look at it from their point of view Harry" Fred spoke up
"They heard that you saved a defenceless young girl from a troll" George continued
"You're a hero in their eyes" They finished in unison
"It doesn't matter, this is no big deal" Harry waved dismissively "This will all blow over in a few days and it will be all forgotten about"
"You are way too humble Harry" James smirked "But this isn't going to be 'forgotten about' any time soon, like Fred and George said, you're a hero…and, from what we've heard in the corridors, girls are planning to drag you into a broom closet, or abandoned classroom when the opportunity presents itself"
"You're joking" Harry looked at his friend, a pleading look in his eyes, wanting it to be a joke
"It's true" Aila spoke up "Every girl from Third to Seventh in fact…wouldn't surprise me, if some place themselves in dangerous situations for you to go and rescue them like a 'knight in shining armour' as the Prophet called you"
Harry groaned and he slammed his head on the table, wanting the ground to just open up and drag him under the earth, much to his friends amusement who couldn't help but laugh.
…
Nathaniel scowled at his brother as he sat at the Gryffindor table. Attention stealing prick. For the last few days, he had to hear everyone talking about Harry's 'heroic deed' by saving Hermione. The article in today's Prophet just made everything worse. If Nathaniel was being honest, he believed it was all a lie. He didn't believe that Harry defeated a troll, he believed he just made it up and someone else did it. Nathaniel had told others within Gryffindor about this, but they either ignored him or believed he was talking nonsense, but what did they know? He was the Boy-Who-Lived, he'd soon show them who a true hero was and when he did, all the girls will come running to him and begging for an autograph. So far, Nathaniel had only given one and that was too Ron, his best mate and yes man. Things will soon change. But for now, a plate of bacon was calling to him.
…
Inside the newly renovated Black Manor, Sirius couldn't help but feel proud, as he read the article. Harry may be a Ravenclaw, but he was as brave as any Gryffindor, going up against a troll, especially at his age. All to save a defenceless First Year. Harry may not be his son, but to Sirius, the boy was exactly that. A son he is proud of. Sirius smiled, as he remembered the day Harry first left for Hogwarts;
The smoke cleared, revealing the crimson train known as the Hogwarts Express. Harry couldn't help but stare in awe at the sight. Behind him, Sirius and Remus appeared through the barrier. Remus couldn't help but smile at the look on Harry's face, remembering what it was like when he first went to Hogwarts. It was that moment he saw a scowl on Sirius' face.
"Sirius, are you okay?" He asked
"No, I'm not" Sirius sighed "James and Lily should be here too, they should say goodbye to him and see him off on his next big adventure, but instead they're pampering that little prince of theirs"
"I know Sirius" Remus placed a hand on his shoulder "He has us, James and Lily may have forgotten about him, but we'll always be there for him"
That made a small smile make its way onto Sirius' face. Harry gave the two of them a hug, before boarding the train. Sirius and Remus waved goodbye, when he appeared in a compartment window and neither of them moved until the train was no longer in sight.
Sirius wasn't sure what had happened during that year, but when Harry had returned, he was an entirely different person. Harry was more independent, no longer needing to rely on others as much and was no longer scared of what scared him before. Sirius had a feeling it had something to do with his friends and he was happy about that. When Remus returned, Sirius was going to show him this article. Sirius believed Harry needed to be rewarded somehow, so he would see if Remus had any idea.
…
Across the country, James Potter was sat in his study at Potter Manor, the Daily Prophet in hand. He had found Evelyn reading it. The young girl was more intelligent then most, being able to read, almost fluently, though there were a few words she still struggled with. When she gave him the paper, he saw the headline and immediatley read the article. That was a few hours ago and here he sat, staring at the headline, everything he read running through his head over and over. Harry had saved a young girl from a troll. This made him think over the last few years. They never gave Harry as much attention as he needed. After dropping Nathaniel off at the train, Lily had talked to him of Harry's behaviour towards them and James believed that was the reason why. Then they forgot to take him to drop him off at the Hogwarts Express, when Harry started Hogwarts and, it was after he finished his First Year, he no longer needed them, let alone spend any time with them. He was going to show Lily this article and when Harry came home, they were going to start giving Harry the attention he needs, making up for the last few years.
Meanwhile, in her bedroom, Evelyn was playing with her toys. She was re-enacting what she saw in the Daily Prophet. At least, her version of events. She was scared, when she read about the troll, but reading that Harry saved someone, it made her happy and now she was playing with her toys, pretending that she was in trouble and her brother was saving her. Harry often called her his little princess and she knew he would save her.
…
Harry was sat next to James, the twins behind them, as they sat in the Defence Classroom. Quirrell had given them a test, but both of them were finding it so easy, Quirrell might as well give them an Outstanding. As they were working, Harry felt James nudging him to get his attention.
"What is it?" Harry whispered
"Quirrell, he's looking at you" James replied, softly "he seems angry"
Harry looked up to see Quirrell sitting at his desk, he was looking their way, his eyes practically burning into his own, a scowl on his face. When Quirrell saw that Harry was looking at him, he quickly turned away.
"Should we worry about that?" James asked
"I don't think so" Harry replied "The guys a creep, it's probably nothing"
"Yeah, probably right" James said, before turning to Harry "Listen, the Hufflepuff Quidditch Team try outs are happening tomorrow and Aila is nervous, I was wondering if you and some of the others will help her practice after lessons today, just to make her feel more confident"
"Sure thing" Harry nodded "I believe we have Charms last period, tell the others to meet up on the Quidditch Field then"
"Sure thing" James smiled, before turning to face the Twins "Hey, you two, Quidditch Field, after Charms, helping Aila practice so she's ready for try outs tomorrow"
"Sure thing James" George smiled
"We'll help you, with anything" Fred added, winking at James
James rolled his eyes and turned back in his seat, though Harry noticed that James seemed to be blushing slightly, as he turned his attention back to his test. Harrys eyes narrowed for a moment, curious, before shaking his head and turned back to his test.
Meanwhile, Quirrell sat, seething as he glared at Harry. The boy had stopped the troll. His Master had punished Quirrell's failure and even though his Master was enraged that a mere boy still going through puberty, stopped troll that was nearly three times his height, he was intrigued by the boy. No mere 14 year olds can come across a troll and live to tell the tale, let alone defeat one. It made his Master wonder if Dumbledore was wrong in naming Nathaniel as the Boy-Who-Lived who from what he's seen of the boy, and heard from other teachers, the boy was barely above a squib in terms of magic. His Master remembered that night. Young Harry was cradling Nathaniel. The two were so close together, he wasn't sure which one caused his spell to rebound. Meaning either of them could be the child that was in the prophecy. From the sound of thing, Harry seemed to be the most likely out of the two, but he couldn't be sure. Once his Master found himself a knew body, he thought about killing them both, but maybe Harry would join his cause.
…
Dumbledore sat at his desk, his head in his hands, as Cornelius Fudge and Amelia Bones stood before him. After seeing the article about the troll the two had made their way over. As Flitwick and McGonagall were the only teachers not teaching lessons, they joined them in Dumbledores office.
"Cornelius, surely you aren't serious?" Dumbledore asked
"I'm completely serious Albus" Cornelius replied "Harry, a young boy at the mere age of 14 saves a First Year, defeating a troll and lives to tell the tale, yet he is only given House Points, we believe the boy needs to be rewarded"
"Rewarded how?" McGonagall asked, as Dumbledore opened his mouth
"Me and Cornelius believe an Order of Merlin is more than appropriate for a reward" Amelia replied "The matter will be brought up in the Wizengamot at the end of this week and it will be decided from there"
"Harry doesn't like being the centre of attention, but he's too polite to decline such a thing" Flitwick said "He should have a free period, so I can take you to him, if you wish to speak with him"
"That will be most kind Filius" Cornelius smiled "Please, lead the way"
Filius nodded, before he led them out of the office, a proud smile on his face. Harry was his favourite student after all. Dumbledore sighed, rubbing a hand on his best. He suddenly felt really tired. He was still in disbelief that Harry defeated a troll. The boy was unnaturally strong for a wizard his age. The exact opposite of Nathaniel. He wasn't sure what to think of the boy. Perhaps he should keep a closer eye on Harry and make sure he doesn't get in the way. Nathaniel still needed to find the Mirror, for the next stage of his plan.

And that is chapter four done. Your thoughts?
Whilst writing this story, I began thinking of Nathaniel, James Potter and Lily. With Nathaniel, I want him to go through a character arc in this story, but I am unsure what to do regarding Harry's parents. If you have any ideas, let me know, because I'm on a fence and could use some help.
Now, I want to talk to you guys. You may, or may not know, I'm always down for doing new things in stories. Especially things I've never written in a story, published or not. I have done about ten stories now, with different pairings. However, on thing I haven't done is a male/male pairing. It may be a bit risky, as it's not something I've done before, but I want to give it a go. Plus, I have had moments where I've been unsure of my sexuality, and it might make for a small character arc in a story. I hope this is something you don't mind seeing, as I know there are some people out there who...disapprove of such things, which I think is wrong. Love is love, you know. There was a hint to a possible pairing in this chapter, see if you can find it and if you have ideas for a male/male pairing, do leave suggestions.
That is all for now, I hope you enjoyed and I will see you next time.
