chapter one
Robin was in the STN-J office puzzling over Amon, where was he? she hadn't seen him since....since....she couldn't even remember. She looked down at the desk where an anti-witch bullet shell lay, she had found it after someone tried to shoot her in a warehouse. Nobody else in the office knows she knows, she was supposed to be asleep when they discussed it. Robin looked over to the computer screen, where there was a list of suspects who would use the gun, seeing something familiar on it, Robin got up to see what it was. As the computer screen became clearer, Robin let out a small gasp, and a single tear rolled down her cheek, the person it all came down to, who had an anti-witch gun, was Amon. Wiping away the tear, Robins face was overcome with an expression of determination, she knew what she had to do.
As she looked up at the dark apartment, Robin almost turned back for the umpteenth time, but quickly reminded herself who she was doing this for. As she started up the stairs, she knew she was expected. As predicted, when she swung open the door, she was met with a gun pointed directly at her, from across the room, waiting for her. Amon didn't look surprised to see her in the least, though he did ask, "why did you come?", Robin took a deep breath. "Because, I'm a witch and 'witches always need to be hunted', you were hired to hunt me, and it takes away from your work at the STN-J, hunting other witches, whatever you may think, I won't be selfish like that".
Something in Amon's eyes flickered just then, but was soon replaced by his usual cold, emotionless stare. Robin looked at her feet for a moment before her head shot up again, making Amon's hand tighten on his gun. "Amon.....do you think.....I could....do something before I....go?". Amon considered her request for a moment before nodding, but keeping his gun up just in case she tried anything. He watched suspiciously as Robin took a deep breath then crossed the space between them, not changing his emotionless mask, but puzzled by her actions.
Taking another deep breath, Robin stopped right in front of Amon's chest, and looked up, into his coldly guarded eyes. Before Amon could do anything, Robin rose up on her tippytoes and caught his mouth in a kiss, Amon was too stunned to do anything but wait it out. It was a simple kiss, but he could tell Robin had waited a long time to do it, he wondered about exactly how long she had cared for him.
Amon saw tears in her eyes as she whispered against his lips, "do it now.....please".
Amon almost hesitated but then he remembered his duty as a witch hunter, and Robins small speech. He was soon aware of a small hand guiding the gun to rest at the owners heart.
BANG!
Robins small body slumped against Amons chest, he gently let it down and covered it with a bed sheet, he would deal with it later. As he took one last look at the forever sleeping Robin, Amon hastily wiped a single tear that had slid down his cheek. Silently, Amon stepped out of his apartment and walked away from what might have been.
