Chapter 5
We continue our story the following day, everyone in the Loud Family is gone away for today, the parents at work and the kids at school…all except for Lincoln due…to obvious reasons.
Lincoln (On the kitchen counter, while pushing a bag of dog food): "Well, I'm sick of this situation. I can't just let my family do everything for me. But it's even worse when they treat me like a baby." (Stops): "Whew! So I'm going to prove to them that I'm still the same Lincoln Loud they've known all their lives." (Starts to push the bag again): "First by feeding our pets. My family was in such a rush leaving the house, even Lana forgot to do it."
Pretty soon the dog food bag reached the end of the counter. And with all his might Lincoln pulls the bag down causing it to rip open, allowing the food to fall into Charles the Dog's food bowl.
Lincoln (Shouts): "Come and get it, boy!"
Charles (Runs in): "Bark! Bark!" (Starts to eat his food): "Crunch!"
Cliff (Walks in): "Meow?"
Lincoln: "Yours is coming up next Cliff."
But when he tries to push the can of cat food to the can opener, it wouldn't budge.
Lincoln (Scratches his chin): "How I'm going to do this? Hmmm…" (Looks up to see cereal boxes in an open cabinet): "Oh…" (Gets an idea): "I got it."
In no time, Lincoln sets up the cereal boxes like dominos with the can at the end.
Lincoln (Looks at the readers): "Don't try this at home readers."
With a kick, the boxes fell one by one until the can is hit and down on its side. The boy then rolls it to the can opener with ease.
Lincoln (Realizes): "Dang it. How I am supposed to get it back up."
Eventually, Lincoln opened the can and dumped the contents into the cliffs bowl.
Lincoln: "Now for Walt and Geo."
But when he got to the living room…
Lincoln (Tries to climb up to Walt's birdcage with a toy shovel of food but starts to slide down): "Woah!" (Hits the ground): "Oof!" (Gets up): "The pole that holds Walt's cage up is too slippery for me to climb up it." (Goes to the table where Geo's hamster cage is and feels one of the legs): "And these table legs are too. I need rope."
But gets an idea when he sees a toy lying on the floor.
Lincoln: "Or a remote-control helicopter."
Lincoln takes the remote to the copter in the cockpit and takes a seat in the captain's chair.
Lincoln (Gets a bit nervous): "I hope flying this thing is easy to do from the inside as it is doing from the outside."
And off into the air, he goes.
Lincoln (Flies up to the birdcage): "Okay…" (Takes the shovel of food): "I need to be careful pouring Walt's food while flying the copter at the same time." (Sticks the shovel out the window and slowly pours the food into the food dish): "Here you go Mr. Walt. "
Walt (Flaps his wings happily): "Chirp! Chirp!"
Lincoln then flies the copter to a toy dump truck where the dumpster is filled with hamster food. He then uses the rope and hook attachment to snatch the dumpster off the truck and up to Geo's cage.
Lincoln (Lowers the dumpster into the cage): "Eat up buddy."
Geo: "Critter!"
Fangs (Flies next to Lincoln): "Eek!"
Lincoln: "What's up Fangs?" (Develops a goofy smile): " Besides me…hahaha!"
But instead of laughing along, a grumble can be heard from the bat's stomach.
Lincoln: "Oh… you're hungry. I should've figured Lucy forgot to feed you too."
Fangs (Nods): "Eek!"
Lincoln: "Let's fix that shall we."
Unfortunately for Lincoln, he has started something he couldn't stop for a while. As more pets come to him to be fed…some of them we're not even the Louds. But eventually, he got it done.
Lincoln (Taking a seat on the couch): "Man…time to take it easy for a while."
However…
Charles (Hops on the couch and drops a ball next to Lincoln): "Bark!"
Cliff (Bats a yarn ball up on the couch as well): "Meow."
Lincoln: "Sigh…here we go again."
