Chapter 4
"A very good meal," Sif said after she had finished eating.
Sif and Peter had gotten cleaned up before making use of the breakfast bar at the hotel.
"It wasn't bad," Peter agreed. "But I think it more due to the company."
"You are a terrible flirt," Sif said to take the sting out of it.
"You're implying I wouldn't follow through on my flirting. I assure you that I would," Peter said as he looked at her intently.
Their gazes remained heatedly locked for several long moments. Sif thought maybe he was going to lean in and kiss her. Peter did lean in and kiss her. The kiss tasted of berries and syrup from the breakfast they had just eaten. It was every bit as good as Sif thought it would be. They broke the kiss when a surge of power went through the area. Sif was not as sensitive to these things as some of Asgardians who were skilled in magic. But even she could sense the Bifrost's activation nearby. Peter had probes monitoring the region of the desert near where all the activity had been happening.
"Loki has sent the Destroyer to kill Thor," Peter said as a hologram of the destroyer was projected by a probe nearby.
"I do not know if we can beat it. What are you capable of?" Sif asked.
"Much," Peter assured. "Come on. The time for hiding is over," He said as he stood.
After she stood, he wrapped his arm around her, and portaled them away.
"Peter, Sif," Thor said in surprise when the pair had stepped through into the apartment Thor, Jane, Darcy, and Erik had just finished up their own breakfast in.
"Are you Spider-Man?" Darcy asked as she immediately noticed the armored suit.
Peter's suit had deployed right before he stepped through the portal. Sif was currently in civilian clothes Peter had purchased for her. She fingered the pendant around her neck which contained her armor and spear in nanite form. It had been a gift the night before from Peter. He had assured her that the nanite pendant would deploy her armor onto her body in seconds unharmed.
"Spider-Man?" Thor asked in confusion.
"It is the name I go by as a defender of Earth," Peter explained. "Some of my abilities are similar to a Spider's talents. I am trusting you with my first name. Please don't break my trust and tell anyone," Peter said to Darcy, Jane, and Erik.
"Of course," Jane said.
"We are here on urgent matters. Loki has sent the Destroyer here to kill you Thor," Sif said grimly.
Peter gestured and a portal opened up. Suddenly Thor's hammer fell through and cracked the floor as it landed.
"There goes our deposit," Darcy muttered.
Peter reached into another portal and stuck his hand through. He came out with a stack of $100 bills and handed it to Darcy.
"My apologies," Peter said.
"That's more than our deposit," Jane pointed out while Darcy fixed her with a murderous look.
"You may need it by the time the day is through," Peter said.
"I…I do not think I have changed enough," Thor said nervously as he stared at his hammer.
"As someone who knows you very well, trust me when I say you have changed a lot. Only trying the hammer will tell if you have changed enough for your father," Sif said.
Thor nodded and reached for the hammer. Peter opened a portal at the ceiling level and then again out on the roof of the building. He did this just in time. Because as soon as Thor's hand touched the handle lightning surged down from the sky in a thick beam and struck Thor. The others present were treated to a vision of Thor in all his glory as his armor flew onto him.
"Oh wow," Jane said in awe.
"You can say that again," Darcy agreed.
"I should contact the others to find out what is going on upon Asgard. I cannot imagine Heimdal would have simply let the Destroyer pass," Sif said.
Peter nodded and opened a micro portal. Sif quickly caught up with the warriors three.
"If we hadn't been specifically looking, we wouldn't have seen past Loki's illusions," Hogun reported. "The palace guard cannot see that Heimdal is frozen solid."
"I am sending through a probe which will cloak you from the sight of the giants guarding the Bifrost," Peter said from behind Sif.
Moments later he opened a portal and then closed it again.
"You have cloaked probes of some sort?" Jane asked as she looked around to see if she could spot any.
"Yes," Peter answered simply. "They will provide a camouflage to the warriors three so that the frost giants shouldn't see them."
"We can't take the chance that the frost giants might damage the Bifrost," Sif added.
"The destroyer approaches," Thor said who had been keeping an eye out for it.
Thor stepped outside and exchanged a few words with Jane who had followed him. Then he spun his hammer and flew into the air. Thor made quick work of the Destroyer. Peter was trying to decide if he should leave it laying around like the Asgardians did in canon for SHIELD to partially reverse engineer or clean it up. In the end he shrugged his shoulders and portaled the remains of the destroyer back to Tony's workshop.
"The warriors three have secured the Bifrost and freed Heimdal," Sif informed Thor when he had landed from dealing with the destroyer.
"We should depart momentarily then if Heimdal can summon the Bifrost just outside the town," Thor said.
"Thor, might I have a word," Peter said.
Thor nodded and he stepped aside with Peter out of earshot of the group.
"What is it Peter?" Thor asked.
"Might I accompany you back to Asgard for a short time to aid you in your fight?" Peter asked.
"Very well. Your advice and aid are greatly appreciated. You shall be my guest," Thor said.
"You should take Jane with you. Invite her back to Asgard to stay for a time. Tell her you can return her to Earth whenever she wants," Peter suggested.
Thor looked at Jane thoughtfully.
"Not a bad idea," Thor admitted.
A few moments later after Thor had extended the invitation Jane said, "Yes. I accept. I'll go with you back to your mysterious magical realm."
Jane quickly made her goodbyes to Darcy and Erik before stepping up to Thor's side. Peter and Sif joined them. The Bifrost opened. It was Peter's first trip through the Bifrost. It was quite an exhilarating feeling. But he still preferred portal travel.
"You should get to your father quickly," Peter said before opening a portal directly into the royal chambers.
"Shouldn't we go after them?" Jane asked.
"Loki plans to return here and use the Bifrost to destroy Jotunheim," Peter explained even as Thor slew Laufey instead of Loki.
The two brothers then began fighting. Thor was dealt a strong blow from his father's spear which Loki had stolen. It was going to take Thor a while to recover, long enough for Loki to get out of the palace and head towards the Bifrost. Peter had portaled Heimdal to the healers.
"Do we plan to just let him do it?" Volstagg asked.
"No we do not," Peter assured even as Sif's armor melted onto her form and her spear appeared in her hand seemingly forming from a liquid causing the eyes of everyone else except Peter to widen in surprise.
"Peter was nice enough to upgrade my armor and weapon," Sif explained.
"Jane, you're going to want to go somewhere a little safer, such as Thor's apartment," Peter said.
Jane simply nodded and stepped through the portal that was opened.
"What now?" Fandral asked.
"Now we stay against the walls until the perfect time to attack and then attack. My probes will keep us concealed if we don't move," Peter said.
Sif and the warriors three followed his lead against the walls. Loki entered the room heading towards Heimdal's sword which had been left in a holster made for it when the watcher had been sent to the healers. Before Loki could lay hands upon the sword, Peter enlarged from a shrunken state just behind Loki. Loki tried spinning to bring his father's spear to use it. But Peter had already gotten a hand on the spear. Loki tried jerking the spear from Peter's grip. But to Loki's surprise if his widened eyes were any indication, Loki couldn't break the spider-powered grip. By that point Sif, Volstagg caught Loki up in a bear hug from behind. Thor arrived at that moment.
"You stopped him before he could even activate the Bifrost," Thor said.
"It isn't the real him," Peter warned just before the Bifrost activated and the beam of Odin's staff short forth towards the concentration of warriors.
Peter's spider-sense had warned him of the danger moments before Loki revealed his real location with a shot from the spear. He had already been moving, diving towards Sif and putting his body between hers and the energy blast while also opening a portal to make sure that when they came out of the explosion it would be closer to Loki. Peter's spider armor took the explosion of energy quite well and he was up and at Loki within moments. Loki was standing near the edge of the Bifrost opening into the abyss. While Peter engaged Loki, Sif went for the sword.
"You've learned some new tricks," Peter said while meaning the physical golem Loki had created and layered with an illusion.
"I'm not simply illusion magic," Loki said with a feral grin as he fought back against the grip Peter had managed to get on the spear between them revealing that Loki's physical strength was greater than the golem's had been.
"He's done something to jam the sword in," Sif shouted as she struggled to pull Heimdal's blade from the Bifrost.
Fandral and Hogun, the quickest two to recover from the blast from Odin's spear rushed forward and helped her pull at the blade. The three of them struggled against it while Thor sent Mjolnir at Loki. Loki managed to get the spear in front of Mjolnir just in time despite Peter's strong grip. The force of Mjolnir hitting the spear was so great that even Peter's grip was broken. He was thrown back even as a surprised Loki was hurtled out of the Bifrost into the abyss.
"No," Thor shouted when he realized what had happened.
"Thor," Sif shouted from where they struggled against the sword.
Thor was unneeded. Odin, fresh from the Odin sleep leapt into the room despite the spinning of the Bifrost. Odin had made it in through the spinning openings miraculously. Odin strode forward and with significant effort pulled the sword from the Bifrost. As the room began to spin down, he strode over next to Thor and stared down where Loki had plummeted. He had seen Loki's fall. Could Peter have opened a portal beneath the falling Loki? Yes. He was not planning on intervening though. Because it would be Loki who brought the mind stone to Earth.
"Loki," Odin said sadly.
"I am sorry father. I did not mean for my blow to send him out of the Bifrost," Thor said.
"It is not your fault. Loki risked much. He thought that I would have wanted him to destroy Jotunheim," Odin said.
Odin turned away from the abyss still looking heartbroken. But he rallied himself a moment later.
"Father, this is an ally, Peter," Thor introduced. "His aid was very valuable."
"Well met Peter," Odin said.
"Your highness," Peter said while giving a respectful dip of his head.
"Come, we must retire to heal and then we feast as is tradition," Odin said. "I believe there is someone else you would like to introduce me to," He said while looking at his son.
"Jane is in your apartments," Peter supplied to Thor who nodded.
Peter was not privy to the private conversation between Odin and Thor on the way back to the palace as the two royals hung back. He walked back with Sif and the warriors three. But he could tell the conversation left Thor thoughtful.
"I can see that you are already very smitten with the mortal you brought with you to Asgard. I will not try to forbid you from any involvement with her. I will simply explain. As you know humans are a very short-lived species. I would have wished to spare you the heartache. But this is a lesson you will have to learn. I loved several mortal women before I met your mother. We Asgardians are not immortal as you know. But with the lifespan difference it is hard to have a mortal for so short a time," Odin said.
"I will consider your wise words father," Thor said.

Sif's Apartments, A Short While Later
Peter followed Sif into her apartments a short while later. She had expressed a need for some attention after the battle had gotten her blood pumping. She kissed him as soon as they were in the door, running her hands all over him. Her apartment was on the outer wall of the palace with a spectacular view. He glanced around briefly when she broke the kiss while mentally removing her armor with a command to the nanites.

A Few Days Later
A private audience with Odin was apparently what you earned for assisting Thor the way Peter had.
"Your assistance has earned at least one boon of me," Odin said after Peter had been led into the throne room by Sif who had then departed. "If Loki had not been stopped sooner then only the destruction of the Bifrost itself would have prevented Jotunheim's destruction. What would you have of me?"
"If it is not asking too much, then I would like to study the science and magic of Asgard. I am not asking to know all of it, just what you deem appropriate," Peter said.
"Such study will take many years for we Asgardians have learned much," Odin pointed out.
"I am patient," Peter said.
"Very well. What else. That cannot be all," Odin said knowingly.
"I wish to have permission to come and go freely from Asgard and for Sif to visit me on Midgard freely," Peter said. "That is all."
"Very well," Odin said. "She is a fine Asgardian."

Sif did not make any mention of a relationship to Peter. As far as she knew he had a short lifespan compared to hers. And they lived in different realms. She did seem pleased at the knowledge they could visit one another however. He did give her a communicator that would work between Asgard and Earth. It opened a micro-portal once every minute to see if any new messages had been sent through. It was quite the complex spell work which Peter was getting better at by studying the sorcerer's knowledge he had been left when he had come to this universe.

1983, A Few Months Before Events of X-Men Apocalypse
Jean Grey walked into the movie theater hand in hand with her boyfriend, Peter. He had only been at the institute for a few months. But already she was smitten with him. The first day they had met he had flirted with her. She had instantly been attracted to him thanks to his pheromones of which she was unaware. It was refreshing to meet someone who she could not instantly read. Apparently, his mind possessed some sort of natural resistance to telepathy that allowed her to only see telepathically what he allowed her to see. She had expected him to call her a freak and stop hanging out around her when he saw how uncontrolled her powers were. But he hadn't. In fact, he was able to help her start gaining some control through his bioelectric energy. Unknown to Jean when her eyes were closed to receive his bioelectric energy, Peter was also making use of sorcerer spells. It was also how he could selectively limit her telepathy on him.
Jean had also slowly loosened up over time. Peter had encouraged her to use her powers on others. He didn't judge her for things Professor Xavier certainly would have. In truth Peter had used a few sorcerer spells his bioelectric technique to turn Jean on to start loosening the bindings Xavier had placed on Jean as a child. Encouraging Jean when she was extremely turned on to manipulate other people was helping to relieve those bindings so that Jean would not one day explode with a malevolent personality that was pissed from being bound. Peter had also used spells to conceal the true image of Jean's mind from Xavier.
"How about here?" Jean said as she suggested a seat that had an unobstructed view of the screen and also would be fairly visible to awe.
"This could work," Peter said as he looked around at the not-too-crowded theater. "Already deployed the mental package?"
"Yep," Jean said with a grin as she telekinetically broke away the barrier between the two seats.
The standard mental package was several mental commands of the people around them. The first was that if either Jean or Peter gave them a verbal command the people would obey. This was not just for a certain set amount of time. This was forever. It was a mental back door into their minds. The second command was that anything Peter or Jean did would be considered normal. Jean wore a short skirt with no panties beneath. Peter sat down on her left.

As far as the X-Men and Charles Xavier knew, Peter's mutant powers consisted of his Spider-Man abilities only. They also knew he was very intelligent. They did not know about his suit yet. Samples of Jean's DNA had already been delivered back to Sterns' team with the goal of incorporating her telepathy/telekinesis expression of the x-gene into the body they were designing for Peter. Sterns' team had already made great progress in the body they had so far. Oddly enough it was combining the spider abilities with the other abilities Peter wanted that was proving difficult. The celestial form did not play well with the spider-like mutation. Peter was honestly willing to give up the agility, wall climbing, and web shooting if Sterns could not make it work. He was attached to the bioelectric abilities and his spider sense. He would have a greater strength through hulk. And he loved the flexibility he had as Spider-Man. Peter decided to see how many if not all of his spider abilities he could replicate with the nanite technology he had at his disposal. If he could re-create the abilities with his tech, then he would probably just go ahead and use the new body. By the time that was decided Peter hoped his new body would have Jean's abilities.

Alex Summers was leading his brother Scott down a set of stairs in the Xavier mansion when Jean bumped into him. Scott was currently wearing a cloth band over his eyes having newly discovered his mutant abilities. Jean caught her books and papers telekinetically and returned them to her hands. Peter entered the hall then joining his girlfriend. Peter and Jean had the boyfriend and girlfriend discussion a couple of weeks prior. Jean having been exploring their bisexual side understood that they would be with other women. It had not clarified how often they would be with other women. Jean may have thought it was from time to time instead of as regular as it would be. But they had already been meeting Betsy often. By the time Jean caught up with the point in time that Peter generally lived in it should not be a problem.
"Watch where you're going," Jean said telepathically to Scott.
"I can't," Scott answered aloud.
"Who are you talking to?" Alex asked.
"Me," Jean answered aloud.
"I just heard you in my head," Scott realized.
"I am telepathic. I read minds," Jean explained.
"Well stay out of mine," Scott said. "I don't want some strange girl creeping around in there."
With a smirk Peter said, "He's going to change his tune once he's able to see again."
With his hand on Jean's back, he led her away.
"Who was that?" Scott was heard asking Alex.
"Peter, Jean's boyfriend. I cannot help but feel he was right," Alex said, acknowledging that Jean was a very beautiful young woman.

Peter went out with Jean for some archery practice, something she enjoyed doing. A little while later Alex, Scott, Hank McCoy, and Charles Xavier came out to the pond where they were practicing archery.
"Why don't you take your bandages off and we'll see what we are dealing with here," Charles suggested. "There is a target just across the water. When you open your eyes try and hit that. Alex, line him up facing the right direction."
"Professor," Peter spoke up drawing everyone's attention towards him. "Why don't you gauge the destructive power of his power first by aiming him into the water towards the middle of the pond? That beautiful tree there is very close to the small target you are asking him to aim at."
"Quite right Peter," Charles said. "I had not considered that. That is probably my favorite tree."
Alex angled his brother's head slightly down towards the water. When Scott opened his eyes the water he hit was vaporized to steam. He soon closed them.
"Your tree would have been destroyed. The archery target would not have held that back for more than a microsecond," Hank pointed out.
"I agree," Charles said. "A very impressive mutation Scott."

The night terror manifestation of her abilities that drew Charles' attention in the X-Men Apocalypse film Peter had watched in his original universe never took place. Oh, Jean had a nightmare vision of Apocalypse. But with the mental exercises Peter had been working with her on she was able to control it. It also helped that Jean was sleeping in Peter's bed at the time. The moment his AI sensed the activity with Jean, his nanites woke him up. He pulled her against his side which woke her. They talked about her nightmare.
