I don't own Home Alone
Enjoy!
Becky staggered on her feet as Kevin pulled her with him. Upon seeing those two bandits again, she had been completely petrified to move. Thank goodness that Kevin was there to literally pull her into her senses and realize that they were in danger. What were the odds of meeting the same people over again, and in New York out of all places? She turned her head and through the throng of people, she made out the tallest bandit that was hurrying up to catch them. "Oh my God!" she yelled as she tried to keep up with Kevin, who was indeed frantic in getting away from these bandits, but also minding the road so no one slowed them down.
Kevin weaved from one person to another as he kept his eyes forward and tried to run as quickly as he could. Last Christmas is being repeated again! he screamed in his head, until he heard his sister scream behind him. He whipped his head and looked over his shoulder to see that Becky was lagging. He reached forward and pulled her wrist to catch her up to his speed. The most dangerous part that of running away was crossing a street full of cars but there wasn't another second to lose. It was all just slowing down those two as soon as they got back to the Plaza Hotel. Turning his head and looking over Becky, who was as pale as a sheet, he saw that those two bandits were gaining speed on them. There had to be a way to slow them down. As the two siblings were about to turn the corner of the block, there was a vendor selling pearl necklaces and for a cheap price at that. Kevin skidded to a halt to the table.
"Kevin!" Becky breathed out, "what are you doing?" She did a double take and noticed Marv coming closer to them. "They're coming!"
Kevin didn't answer her but exchanged some money with a couple of pearl necklaces before he grabbed Becky and they both made a dash from the bandits. The two siblings crossed the street and Kevin broke the chain of the necklace and let the beads fall onto the pavement. "Don't step on those," Kevin warned his sister with a mischievous smirk before they made a dash again.
"I wasn't planning on it," Becky rolled her eyes as she followed after Kevin.
Harry and Marv managed to cross the busy street and once they made it across, the two failed to see that the pavement was littered with beads. The soles of their shoes touched the beads and they slipped, launching themselves into the air and back to the ground. Both siblings turned around to see Kevin's handiwork and both were glad that they were able to slow them down just a bit.
"Yes!" Kevin cheered and then they took off to the entrance of the hotel.
Becky's breath quickened the moment that they got closer to the Plaza Hotel. "Wait..." she breathed and slowed down on her run, "I think...I think I see...whooo...Mr. Hector," she managed to say as she looked at the hotel concierge assisting people by the doorway.
"Maybe he can help!" Kevin said. If they weren't in a dire need for help, Kevin wouldn't have bothered going to him after he welcomed himself inside their hotel room last night. "Are you okay, Becky?" he asked as he saw his sister who was bent over with her hands on her knees and trying to gather her breath.
Becky slowly raised her head and nodded. "Fine...just out of...shape," she slowly straightened herself and then proceeded to walk with Kevin over to Hector.
Upon seeing the two children, Hector looked down at them with a smile upon his lips. However, both siblings were concerned in getting away from those two bandits that they didn't think much of that 'I-have-caught-you-now' smile. "You gotta help us!" Kevin said to Hector, "there's two guys after us."
"Why what is the matter?" Hector asked. "Store wouldn't take your..." he quickly reached inside Kevin's coat pocket and pulled out the envelope of money and the credit card that was in there. "Stolen credit card?"
Becky furrowed her eyebrows at Hector and reached over for the card. "Give that back to him! You can't take that!"
Hector held the envelope out of her reach and held her back with an arm between her and the envelope. Becky staggered backward when he gave her a light push. "I most certainly can," Hector continued, "especially when two unaccompanied children suspiciously check in a hotel. Let's see what the police will say about this."
Police? Becky thought. No, he had to be bluffing. There was no way that the police were going to arrest two children for something like this, especially when they needed a place to stay for the night until their family found them. "You can't," Becky said with a shake of her head, "we didn't mean anything by it!"
In his head, Kevin knew that there was no point in debating with this man. He seemed very ecstatic that he caught them and right now, he didn't want to face the police or any future jail time by being here. He grabbed Becky's wrist and pulled her along with him and inside the hotel lobby with Hector chasing after them!
As usual, the hotel lobby was busy and Cedric was still not able to find a time for a break. After speaking with Elliot, he had promised to call Robert as soon as possible but even that had been delayed. In his mind, he replayed back the conversation that he had with Elliot and he wasn't surprised that his uncle didn't want to see Robert. If he was in Elliot's shoes, he wouldn't want to see him either. However, there was just something different this time that Robert wanted to rectify between the family. Even if that was the case, Elliot had been right about one thing and that was even if he gave Robert his forgiveness, that wouldn't bring his wife back.
Why did I have to put myself in this situation again? Cedric thought to himself and took a deep breath as he held onto two luggages and carried them across the hall.
"Stop those children!" he heard Hector suddenly yell as he chased after those two kids.
Cedric was caught off guard as he looked from Hector and then over to the two children. He dropped the luggages and made to grab Kevin while Hector reached over for Becky. However, those two kids were too fast for them and both of them made their way to the elevator. At that moment Hester Stone, who was assisting a pair of hotel guests, turned and opened her arms to block access to the elevator.
Without any form of hesitation, Kevin flew to the ground and slid across the floor between the woman's legs and into the elevator. Becky swerved to Hester's left and jumped inside the elevator. However, Hester wasn't quick enough to react when both Hector and Cedric ran into her and the three of them fell onto the polished floor. Once both siblings were inside, Kevin pressed the button on the fourth floor and the doors closed.
"Safe," Becky whispered as she slid against the wall and sat on the floor.
Kevin took slow and deep breaths as he looked at his sister. "We've committed credit card fraud," he said to her.
Becky slowly raised her head as she looked at her little brother. "We had no other place to stay, Kevin," Becky said to him. "What are we going to do now?" she asked him. The fact that they had the bandits and the hotel staff after them was not a comforting thought to the siblings. "Where are we going to go?"
Kevin looked at his sister. "We're going to go home," he said to her. "I've had enough of this vacation."
Now that her breath was finally adjusted and her heart paced at a decent rate, Becky swallowed and looked at her brother. "Didn't you say that Uncle Rob was here? We can drop off at their house?" her eyes then brightened when a thought came into her mind and she stood on her feet. "Lucas! He said that he was going to stay here with his dad! We can stay with them if Uncle Rob is not back!"
Kevin had completely forgotten about Lucas spending the holidays in New York. "Hopefully they won't mind," Kevin said and the elevator dinged, brining them to their floor.
"Of course they won't mind. Not if I have anything to say about it," Becky joked as they headed into the hotel room.
Kevin made a quick dash in the cupboard and pulled out a handful of plastic wrapped cookies and began to pack his bag. Becky ran into the bedroom and threw off of her items inside her bag and zipped it up when she was finished. "Ready to go Kevin?" she asked as she looked up at her brother.
Before Kevin could answer her, the front door opened and the sound of scurrying footsteps was heard making its way inside the room. Scanning the bed, Kevin grabbed the remote control and directed over to the television and put the volume on high.
"Hold it right there!" Johnny demanded from the television and that was when the footsteps halted in the living room and there was silence for a mere second before it was broken by Hector.
"This is the concierge sir!" Hector yelled towards the voice, but it was odd that he couldn't see the human to whom this voice belonged too.
A small smirk made its way to Becky's lips at what Kevin was doing. What an extremely clever way to trick the staff into thinking that their 'father,' and a gangster one at that, was in the hotel room.
"I knew it was you," Johnny continued, "I could smell you getting off the elevator." Silence. "You were here last night too, wasn't you?"
Hector hesitated for a second. He hoped that 'Mr. McCallister' wasn't going to accuse him of walking in whilst he was taking a shower in front of colleagues. Though he knew that he wouldn't be able to lie. "Yes sir," Hector managed to say, "I was."
"You was here," Johnny responded, "and you were smooching with my brother!"
Becky gently put her hand over her lips and suppressed the laugh that was about to escape her lips. Kevin bit his lower lip as he tried to keep himself from laughing and kept his focus onto the television.
Hector was caught off guard by that accusation. "I'm afraid you're mistaken, sir."
"Don't give me that," Johnny accused, "you've been smooching everybody. Snuffy, Al, Leo, Little Moe with that gimpy leg, Cheeks, Bony Bob, Cliff...I could go on forever baby!"
Becky rolled her eyes from the television and over to Kevin. "Guess the whole staff knows about what's happening," she whispered and then snickered quietly with Kevin.
Through all of these accusations, which made Hector believe that this 'Mr. McCallister' was not well in the mind, as the concierge he still had to remain professional. "I am terribly sorry sir but I am afraid you are mistaken. We are looking a young man and his sister."
Kevin sped up the sequence of the movie until and paused it with Johnny holding his Tommy gun. "Alright, I believe you but my Tommy gun don't!" There was another silence in the room until Johnny continued, "get down on your knees and tell me that you love me."
"Oh no," Becky quietly snorted.
This is going to be good Kevin thought as he waited for Hector's response.
"I love you!" Hector said to the voice.
Kevin softly snickered and tried to keep it together. Becky was as red as her hair as she kept her hand pressed upon her lips.
"You gotta do better than that!" Johnny yelled.
"I love you!" the whole staff said in unison and at that moment, both Kevin and Becky quietly tiptoed over to the doorway exit that led them down the stairs and to the loading docks of the hotel.
The sequence of the movie continued to the point where Johnny began to countdown before he started to shoot at the dame. At that moment, Kevin heard the hotel staff scrambling to make their way out of the room and until that moment, Johnny let out his infamous maniacal laughter and began shooting. "Merry Christmas you filthy animal...and a Happy New Year."
The plan was executed perfectly and both siblings didn't waste another second as they hurried down the stairs. "We're almost out of here," Kevin said to Becky as he looked up to her.
"Yeah, I just gotta find a phone booth to phone Lucas," Becky said as she opened the door into the loading docks and the two of them stepping onto the platform. The two were very frantic to get out of the hotel that they didn't notice both Harry and Marv standing in front of them, as if they had been expecting the siblings to make an appearance by the loading dock. Without giving a second though, Kevin stepped off the platform and was launched into the air and right into Harry's grip. As for Becky, she tried to skid to a halt but Marv reached out a grabbed her before she could escape from his grip.
"Come to papa!" Harry said as he held Kevin in the air and then dropped him to his feet.
Marv pulled Becky towards the group and noticed the passport that Kevin had failed to put in his bag. "Round trip to Miami," he said, "what's that matter? Did you two get on the wrong plane?"
"You won't be needing this," Harry grabbed the passport and tore it to little pieces before throwing it on the ground.
Kevin watched as his passport was torn into shreds. Now how were they going to get home? He looked over at Becky who was struggling to free herself from Marv's grip but he had a good hold on her jacket that made it uneasy for her to escape.
"American don't fly to the promised land, little buddy," Marv responded.
"Come on," Harry said as he grabbed onto Kevin's coat and the two bandits walked away from the hotel and into an alley and took the McCallister siblings with them.
