Kates POV
I woke up to the alarm on My phone, playing the same shit it always does. I could change it, but what's the point? I'll just learn to hate whatever song I change it to next. I groaned, hitting the snooze button. I swear I closed my eyes only for a split second before my alarm went off again. This time I hit okay and sat up. It's the only thing I can do to wake myself up. I yawned as I stretched. A couple of satisfying pops later I was out of bed.
Looking in the mirror I saw that my hair was a mess. I sighed as I went to the bathroom to take my morning piss, shower, and brush my teeth. After all was said and done I needed to figure out what I was going to wear.
"I should really start choosing something before i go to bed." I thought. I stood there, looking into my closet thinking before realizing there was no point. What's going to happen? I'm going to go to school, chill with friends, and get my fucking work done. Afterwards I'll come home and… reality set in again.
"i have absolutely nothing to look forward to.'' I thought. This realization made me go casual as always. Pink T-Shirt, blue skinny jeans, brown shoes, and my grey sweatshirt. It was getting to that point in the year where my fur just wasn't enough to keep me warm. I sprayed some perfume and headed downstairs.
Reaching the bottom I saw Lilly. Unlike me she was actually trying. Black sweater, navy jeans, and jewelry. She also had her hair all done up. I only did enough to straighten it.
"Morning," she said, walking over to me.
"Ready to go?" I replied , grabbing my keys off our key hook.
"Yep . I just need to grab my backpack." she said walking into the living room.
"K" I said walking out the door outside. The sun was just about to start rising and the temperature was freezing.
"It's absolute bullshit that they make us go to school this early." I thought about hopping in my car. I turned the key and immediately put the heat on, The car couldn't warm up sooner. As I waited for the heat Lilly finally came out. She opened the front passenger door and tossed Her book bag in the back next to mine.
"Alright let's go, '' she said smiling. I groaned, putting the car into reverse.
After a while we made it to school. I had to make my usual stop at Dunkin Donuts to get a coffee. I wasn't waking up fully without it. Lilly only wanted a hot chocolate, which was fine by me, the less money i had to spend the better. Walking up to the school I saw the usual sight of My sister running to her boyfriend.
"HUMPHREY!" she yelled in excitement, before hugging him and planting a kiss on his lips. He waved hi to me and I waved back before continuing my walk. I didn't even bother to say good morning anymore.
"He knows me, I'll talk to him later." I thought. Finally I entered the building and was greeted with the glorious heat. Even though I was outside for only a minute it was enough to nearly freeze me.
I went to my locker, grabbed my shit and started heading to the home room. Along the way I was stopped by my group of friends. Candy, Sweets, and Winter.
"There she is," Sweets exclaimed.
"Here I am," I replied, sounding slightly sarcastic. I love these guys to death but how many times can we have the same conversation?
"We were just talking about how Candy owes us money," Winter said laughing.
"You guys are so full of shit, i always pay you back" Candy responded with the same smile i've seen her give a hundred times over. "Don't I kate?" she asked me, giving me pleading eyes. I smirked,
"let's see. I've given you almost a hundred dollars and so far you've paid me back ehh…. Fuck all." Candy dropped her hand making a loud smack sound on her leg.
"You guys are all full of shit" she said through chuckles.
"Bells on the verge of ringing." I said checking my watch. "Gotta run" I started walking away before hearing Candy call "this isn't over!" I just held out my hand and flipped her off.
The rest of the day was just as predictable as I imagined. Working and working until the usual lunch time. I sat with my friend having the usual conversations. How their boyfriends treat them, how we should all do something together soon, the usual rumor talk, and my personal favorite, when am i going to get a boyfriend?
"Getting a boyfriend isn't something that just happens." I told them.
"Do you know how many guys want to date you?" Sweets asked,
"They see you as the most beautiful thing in the world and I think they would treat you right if you know what I mean." Candy chimed in.
"No, see, that's the problem." I said, my ears flattening on my head. "All anyone of these guys sees me for is my physical self, but what about beyond that? I can't think of the last time a guy has even asked me how my day was.'' I finished resting my head on my arms.
"Ah. the down side to looking perfect." Winter said. "Dont worry Kate im sure it will happen eventually" i wanted to think she was right but how many guys have i seen come and go threw this school and their all… such fucking users, i needed someoone to love, someone who would take care of me emotionally and not just physically. There was none of that here. At least from what I could see. All the guys who loved girls for who they were were all taken. Humphrey in particular. "Lilly's lucky" I thought before the bell rang signaling us to go to the next class.
As I was walking down the hall I noticed someone walking alongside me.
"Hey Kate," he said.
"Garth," I said to him. "Speaking of just wanting your body" I thought.
"I couldn't help but overhear that you're still looking for a boyfriend." he said smiling. I scoffed
"no. I'm not looking for anyone. It happens when it happens." Garth scoffed back.
"I don't see why you don't give me a chance" I rolled my eyes
"you know exactly why Garth" i opened my locker and started looking for the books i needed for my next class.
"I get that you think i'm some type of jerk with some type of hit list, but if you took the time to talk to me you would see i'm not bad, i like you so much, i just want to see you happy." he said leaning towards me.
"You really like me that much huh?" I asked
"and then some," he responded.
"UH-huh what's my last name Garth?" he jumped back a bit.
"I… uh…" I slammed my locker
"goodbye Garth." I said walking away. Thankfully he didn't follow.
For the rest of the day I was bored, the same shit happening again and again, until finally it was time to go home. I stood by my car waiting for Lilly. It was a bit warmer out so I was fine standing out enjoying the nice cool air. Still had my sweat shirt on though. After waiting about three minutes I felt my phone vibrate. Taking it out, I saw I got a text from Lilly.
"Hey. sorry but i'm heading out with Humphrey for a bit, already asked mom she said it was fine.`` I groaned before hopping in my car and taking off. "What i wouldn't do for a fucking burger.'' I thought. putting on the radio and turning on my spotify.
No ones POV
Eve was trying her hardest to keep the kitchen sink from leaking.
"Where is that boy?" she thought before hearing the doorbell ring. She quickly walked over and opened it to see a young wolf with light grey fur and black hair that was also trimmed around his mouth, kind of looking like a light beard. He smiled
"hey Eve" Eve stepped to the side and motioned him to come in
"took your damn time." He started walking over to the sink taking off his jacket.
"Sorry, school was a bitch today." Eve let loose a small laugh
"oh i'm sure it was awful." the boy got down on his knees checking the pipes.
"Senior year… it's not as bad but…" he stopped. Rolling on his back to better see the pipes.
"What is it?" Eve asked.
"You got a loose-" before he could finish the pipe bursted spitting water all over his face, and leaking out to the kitchen floor. He yelped out as Eve took a step back admiring the sight.
Kates POV
I pulled into my driveway… alone… with My fucking burger king. I just needed some real food. I stepped out of the car grabbing my bag. Unlocking the door I stepped into my house to see a wild scene. A boy was under the kitchen sink drenched in a huge puddle of water, as my mom stood back trying to contain a smile on her face.
"Okay i think that did it." the boy said, getting out from under the sink, looking at my mom still trying to hide her smile. "Oh you think it's funny." He said smiling. My mom grabbed a towel off the oven handle and handed it to him,
"hilarious." she said. He wiped his face before noticing me and stopped in his tracks.
"Hey." he said. My mom turned around to see me.
"Oh Hi sweetie you remember Rick right?" I eyed Him again.
"Can't say that I do." I responded. He grabbed his jacket saying
"we're in the same classes you and I," I walked forward a bit.
"We are?" I asked. He chuckled. "What's so funny?" I asked.
"We've met before." Mom looked at me.
"You remember when he fixed our TV?" she asked
"I think so?" I said.
"Ouch," he said, walking over to me. "Well let's meet again shall we, i'm Rick." he held out his hand which i accepted.
"Kate." I said.
"I know ya." he said before turning back to my mom. "You want help with the mess?" he asked.
"No, I think I got it from here." she said getting the mop.
"Okay." he said before turning back to me. "See ya around?" he asked. I gave a light smile
'sure" he nodded and walked out the door. "Wow that was probably the first guy to meet me and not hit on me." I thought.
"What do ya think he's cute right?" my mom asked. I brushed my hair to the side watching him get in his truck to drive off.
"Kind of." I said.
"He is single I believe, you two should hang out." mom said, beginning to mop. I turned to her.
"I wish i could say i would but knowing the guys around here…" i just shook my head before walking into the living room and plotting myself on the couch. I took out a cheese burger and my fries and began looking for something to watch. "He didn't hit on me." I thought again. If he really is in my classes I'll try to talk to him tomorrow. I need something new in my life.
