Chapter 2 -"This is Dialogue" 'This is Thought'

Shinji woke covered in cold sweat, he glanced at the clock on his, "7:00 am huh? Guess it's time to get up."
Getting out of bed he made his way to the bathroom. Once inside he got undressed and stepped in to the shower, the warm water ran over his body as he remembered his dream, or more precisely Quetzaalcoatl's memories.

Shinji was walking through a field it was quiet until,
"Quetzalcoatl, wait up!"
Shinji turned around to see Quetzalcoatl walking towards him. Unlike Shinji's Garuda transformation Quetzalcoatl's chest is covered in feathers. Running up behind Quetzalcoatl was what looked like a werewolf.
"Soronia, what are you doing here?"
"I missed you, everyone say's you're going to earth."
'I'm going to earth to get away from you, but you still find me.' thought Quetzalcoatl, "They've ordered me to go, Lord Satan say's he wants the strongest warriors."
"So why are you going?" asked Soronia
"Because I'm being ordered to." stated Quetzalcoatl
"But a girl has needs."
Quetzalcoatl smirked, 'Yeah, I have needs too, I need to get away from you.' He quickly wiped the smile off his face, "I know, but I can't go against Lord Satan's orders."
Soronia pouted "you're sure there's no way to get out of it?"
Quetzalcoatl looked down at the ground and smiled while he shook his head from side to side, to anyone else he might have looked disappointed but inside he was jumping for joy.

Shinji snapped out of his Riviera, he turned off the shower and put a towel on. Stepping out of the bathroom he made his way to his bedroom. After getting dressed he went to the kitchen.
As he entered the kitchen Pen-pen came out of his fridge, he looked at Shinji, [I hope you can cook better than the drunken woman.]
Shinji knowing what Pen-pen said bent down, "You're in luck, I can cook, so what do you want to eat?"
Pen-pen stared at Shinji wide eyed before passing out. Shinji laughed he picked up the sleeping penguin and placed him on the table. He started making breakfast, when he heard Pen-pen began to stir, as he sat up Pen-pen looked at Shinji, [I had the weirdest dream that you understood what I said.]
Shinji smiled, "Pen-pen, I wasn't a dream, I do understand you. So are you gonna answer my question? What do you want to eat?"
Pen-pen was still stunned but answered anyway. Shinji reached into the cupboard and pulled out a can of sardines. He opened them and placed them in front of Pen-pen, who started eating but kept a wary eye on Shinji. Shinji finished making breakfast just as Misato walked in.
Placing the food on the table, he watched as Misato walked over to the fridge and pulled out a can of beer. She sat down and opened the can, within seconds of the can touching her lips it was empty, "YEEE-HAAAWW! That's the stuff."
'Whoa she drinks like a fish, I'll have to check for gills.' thought Shinji, "Well, have a nice day at work. I'll keep Pen-pen company, right Pen-pen?"
[No.] Shinji glared at pen-pen as he waddled off.
Shinji turned to Misato and smirked "Hey Misato, have you ever had roast penguin?"
Pen-pen stopped in mid waddle, he turned around and gave Shinji a glare, [You wouldn't?]
Shinji gave an evil grin that even Gendo couldn't compete with, "I would." Shinji turned to Misato he could see she was confused, "So? How 'bout it?"
Looking back at Pen-pen he could see the pleading look and sighed "How 'bout Fish instead?" Misato snapped out of her confused state smiled and nodded, standing up she walked over to the kitchen door and turned back to Shinji, "Sorry, you can't stay here Ritsuko wants to do some tests, then we've got to sort out things for school tomorrow."
"I only arrived yesterday and I've already got tests? not only that I've got to go to school tomorrow as well?"
Misato shrugged nonchalantly and walked out. Shinji put the dishes in the sink and then walked out, seconds later there was a loud thump as Pen-pen fainted again.
Shinji had been sat in the entry plug for hours, while Ritsuko had done dozens of tests on Garuda, {Right Shinji, this is the last test. Now, have you memorized the positions of all the Eva emergence locations, emergency power sources, armament equipment buildings and recovery zones?}
{I think so.}
{Well, lets review it now. Normally the Eva runs off electricity provided by an umbilical cable. In emergencies it can switch to a built in battery with an active life of one minute at full power, and no more than five minutes in the minimal gain mode. Of course since you transformed Unit-01 in to Garuda as you call it, you no longer need the umbilical cable.}
{So what's this last test?}
{It's a simulation of battle conditions.}
Garuda dropped the rifle he was holding and crossed his arms over his chest, {I will a gun, it's useless against the Angels. Anyway you can have one of the other Units use the gun, I'll use one of my abilities.}
Suddenly a laser beam shot out of Garuda's forehead and hit one of the many panels in the room. Inside the entry plug the simulation laser beam hit Sachiel in the core and made it blow up. Behind the observation window Maya and Ritsuko were shocked, while Misato was leaning against the wall in the shadows with a smirk on her face, {We might beat the Angels after all.}
Shinji woke at 7:00 am again, he got up had his shower got dressed and made breakfast for him and Pen-pen. After eating breakfast he walked over to Misato's bedroom door and opened it a bit, "Hey Misato, it's morning time to get up."
"I just got back from night duty a little while ago, I don't have to go to work till this evening so please let me sleep. Oh yeah, I got you a cell phone, keep it with you in case of emergencies."
"Yeah, okay."
Shinji shut the door and left the apartment. As he approached the school gates he noticed that all the students were wearing a school uniform, 'No way am I wearing a school uniform, I'd rather die'
The school bell rang and students hurried off to class. After wandering the school he finally located the principal's office, telling the secretary who he was he entered the office, "I'm Shinji Ikari."
The principal looked up from the papers he was signing, "Oh yes, the new student. You're also the new pilot from Nerv as well?"
"Yes, sir."
"Good, I'll escort you to your class, may I ask why you're not in uniform?"
"Because I don't like wearing uniforms, they're restricting." stated Shinji
"Although I would prefer you to wear a uniform, I can't force you to wear one."
Thank you sir."
Knocking on the door to classroom 2-A, the principal entered and told the teacher that Shinji's in the class. The teacher nodded and motioned for Shinji to enter.
"Well class, we have a new student." The teacher looked at Shinji, "Please introduce yourself."
"Hi, I'm Shinji Ikari, that's all I want you to know, for now."
"Thank you Mister Ikari, please take a seat."
Shinji nodded and started walking to an empty seat, when a young girl with pigtails greeted him, "Hello Mister Ikari, I'm Hikari Horaki the class representative, pleased to meet you."
"Hi, you know if all the girls in this school are as cute as you I'm going to like it here."
Hikari blushed, while some of the girls swooned and sigh contently and the boys growled. Shinji continued on his way to his seat, sitting down he looked over to the window and saw Rei Ayanami.
'Who is she?' He pondered.
Opening the laptop he was given he noticed he had a message, {Is it true that you're a pilot?: Y/N.}
Shinji looked around and saw two girls wave at him, one started typing and another message popped up, {You are the one, right?: Y/N.}
Shinji thought about whether it would be a good idea to tell them, {YES.}
As soon as he pressed enter the whole class surrounded him asking questions.
"What's it's name?"
"It was called Evangelion or Eva, but now it's called Garuda." answered Shinji
"What attacks does it have?"
Shinji thought back to some of Garuda's abilities "It has an extendable spike, a kind of solar blast attack and it can teleport, but that's only a portion of it's abilities."
Suddenly the bell rang and all the students looked at the clock, Shinji took this time to teleport outside. The students looked back to find Shinji wasn't there, which confused them since they were surrounding his desk. Outside Shinji sighed a relief.
"Hey new kid, we need to talk." Came a shout from behind him, Shinji turned to see two boys walking towards him, one had black hair and was wearing a school tracksuit, the other had blonde hair and was carrying a camcorder.
"Hi I'm Toji Suzahara, this is Kesuke Aida." Introduced the boy wearing the tracksuit,
"Err can I help you?" asked Shinji
"I wanted to say thank you for saving me and my sister." said Toji
"Err, I don't remember saving you or your sister, in fact I don't even remember seeing either of you."
"We were in the building behind your robot. When you started ripping off the armor you gave me and my sister enough time to get out. If that creature had attacked you we could've been injured or worse."
"umm, I'm glad to hear you weren't hurt."
"I have a question? when we were in the building you were in a robot, but when we came out you were in a giant bird. What happened?"
Shinji sighed, "It's hard to explain, you know all those things that Garuda can do, well I can do them to."
"What?! How's that possible?" asked Kensuke,
"I'm… I'm a Demon" stated Shinji, Toji and Kensuke stared at him wide eyed.
"I've been a Demon for about two years, and when I transform I look exactly like Garuda. Actually Garuda is the name I call myself so people don't hear my real name."
All conversation seemed to stop as Toji and Kensuke stared at something behind Shinji.
Seeing that they were frozen in place Shinji turned to see what they were looking at and came face to face with Rei, "There's an emergency, I'll report in first."
Shinji watched as Rei ran off before turning to Toji, "Err, who was that girl?"
Kensuke stared at him wide-eyed, "You mean you don't know? She's Rei Ayanami, the other pilot." Before Shinji could say anything the sirens went off.
Shinji sat in the entry plug waiting to launch, 'Wasn't there something about Shamshel?' He wondered
{Launch Eva!} shouted Misato.
The launch pad shot up to the city streets hiding Garuda behind a building. It suddenly dawned on him what Shamshel could do, jumping out from behind the building he shot a line in the concrete in front of Shamshel using his laser beam. Dust shot up covering the Angel's eyes?, the Demon put as much distance between him and the Angel.
{Idiot, you hit the enemy with your own smoke.} complained Misato.
{Shut up Misato, I know what I'm doing.} Shinji waited patiently and he was not let down as two energy whips came through the smoke cutting buildings into pieces. Shinji was trying to figure out the best way to attack, he was running different scenarios (A/N: Some things run in the family.) in his head.
Deciding to go for a full on attack, Garuda started to run towards Shamshel, he dodged both whips as Shamshel tried to sever his arms. One of the Angel's whips came back on it's self and rapped around Garuda's leg and threw him high in to the air. Garuda landed a few hundred feet away impacting a hillside. Out of the corner of his eye Shinji noticed some thing moving between Garuda's fingers, it was Kensuke and Toji. Suddenly Shamshel sent his whips flying towards Garuda, acting quickly Garuda grabbed the whips.
{Shinji, let them into the cockpit.} ordered Misato as the entry plug ejected from the back of Garuda's neck, {You two, get in!}
Not wasting any time they climbed Garuda and jumped in to the entry plug.
"What the… this is water." stated Toji
While Kensuke complained "My camera, my camera."
Reinserting the entry plug Garuda pushed Shamshel away.
{Shinji, retreat now! we can finish this later.} ordered Misato.
Garuda stood up and extended the spike in his right forearm.
"Hey new kid, she said retreat."
Shinji ignored Toji and snarled, {I'm not going to finish this later. I'm going to finish this NOW!}
Garuda ran down the hillside seeing the opportunity Shamshel stabbed Garuda in the stomach. Garuda ignored the whips in his stomach and lunged forward impaling Shamshel in its core, after a while Shamshel's core went a dull red as the Angel stopped moving. Shinji once again ejected the entry plug and climbed out of Garuda having a bit of trouble with the pain in his stomach, after retrieving the crystal he got back in the entry plug and reinserted it. Garuda pulled his spike out the unmoving Angel, he then proceeded to pull the whips out of his stomach. Inside the entry plug Shinji began coughing up blood.
Shinji stepped out the ejected entry plug followed by Toji and Kensuke only to be greeted by armed guards, "What good is a gun against a Demon?" asked Shinji smirking the entire time.
The guards with said guns looked at each other before putting them away and leaving as fast as the could.
Shinji turned to Toji and Kensuke, "come on guys, I'll take you both home."
Shinji arrived home quite late since he had wandered the city for hours, just as he closed the front door Misato yelled from the kitchen, "Shinji, kitchen, NOW!"
Shinji walked into the kitchen and saw Misato sat at the table with an unopened can of beer, 'This isn't good.'
"Shinji, why did you disregard orders?"
"Because I felt like it." said Shinji evenly
"I'm the one in charge of your operations, aren't I?"
"Whatever."
"You do know you're supposed to obey my orders, understand? I'm warning you not to do it again."
"Or what? You'll take away my piloting privileges? Ha without me you can't get unit-01 back. Without my permission Garuda won't move for anyone, you need me, plus my knowledge about the Angels gives me the edge in battle."
Misato knew he was right, getting rid of him would mean losing their trump card. Shinji stood up and left the room leaving Misato with her thoughts.
Shinji woke up at 7:00 am again going through his morning routine he finally entered the kitchen and saw Pen-pen open his fridge door, "Morning Pen-pen, what do you want for breakfast?"
[Whatever we got in.]
Shinji smiled, "Sure, I'll get some different types of fish next time I go shopping to give you more of a selection."
Pen-pen nodded and sat down at the table, Shinji gave Pen-pen some sardines again, then set to work on his and Misato's breakfast.
As he finished making it Misato came in, got a beer and sat down, within seconds the can was empty, "YEEE-HAAAWW! So Shinji, Shouldn't you be getting ready for school?"
"I'm not going in for a while."
"Why not?"
Shinji gave Misato a sheepish look and pulled his T-shirt up. Misato gasped, on his stomach were two circular bruises in exactly the same spot Garuda was stabbed with the energy whips.
"How did you get those bruises?"
"Don't worry, they'll be healed in a couple of days, I got them during the battle with Shamshel. Because I'm 100% synchronized with Garuda any cuts he gets, I get bruises where the cuts are, when he's fully healed I will be too."
"So how come Garuda can heal himself? Those were pretty nasty wounds."
"It's something all Demons can do."
Curiosity getting the better of Misato she asked, "I've been meaning to ask you how did you become half Demon?"
Shinji sighed, "Fine, I'll tell you. It happened two years ago…
--= Flash Back =--
Shinji and Akira were walking home after school, "Come on, let's take the short cut, we may even beat Miki home." said Shinji.
They turned down a street and headed to the park, along the way they talked 'bout allsorts, but when the topic came to Miki and Akira the conversation was stopped.
They walked in silence until someone said, "Akira, Akira Fudo." Shinji searched for the source of the voice. A young man about the same age as Akira was walking towards them, he had blonde hair and was wearing a trench coat.
Shinji looked to Akira who was contemplating who the young man was, "Oh of course, it's my old friend Ryo." said Akira as he walked up to greet him, "Shinji, this is my old friend Ryo we went to school together, Ryo this is Shinji."
"Nice to meet you." said Shinji but was ignored,
"Akira, I want you to come along with me immediately, I've some thing important to show you." said Ryo,
Ryo, you mind if Shinji comes along?" asked Akira,
"I don't give a shit." said Ryo coldly,
'I bet if Miki was here you wouldn't let her come.' thought Shinji.
After a short walk they found themselves in front of Ryo's car, once in the car they sped off.
"so, come on Ryo, what's so important that you need my help?" questioned Akira,
"I'm in terrible danger." replied Ryo as he spun the wheel turning a sharp corner sending Shinji and Akira sliding on the back seat, "My fathers dead."
"I'm sorry to hear that, what happened? Did he have an accident?" asked Akira,
"No it wasn't an accident, it was suicide. He covered himself in gasoline then had a last cigarette, it's true what they say 'Smoking's bad for your health' especially when it's your own flesh that you're smoking. There was nothing I could do to stop him, I couldn't even get near him in the heat. All the time he kept pouring on more gas. The first clue was when I found our pet dog decapitated.

Ryo ran in to his father's room, "Dad our dog's dead"
His father stood calmly smoking a cigarette, on his sleeve was blood, "Don't worry about it Ryo, it's nothing. He bit me, so I had to kill the mangy son of a bitch. You should have heard him squeal when I pulled his guts out, he sounded like a little piggy on the end of a skewer." said Ryo's father as he began to laugh maniacally.
Later that night thunder and lightning were pounding the night sky. Ryo was asleep oblivious to the dangers. Lightning flashed lighting up the room revealing Ryo's father who was stood in front of the door with a knife held in his teeth. He silently stalked over to Ryo's bed, gripping the handle of the knife, he raised it high above his head. Suddenly thunder pierced the silence waking Ryo up, turning over he saw the glint of lightning in the knife, using his duvet and his arm to stop the knife inches from his body. He pushed the duvet away with the knife still embedded in it. His father released the knife and ran out of the room.

"You mean he tried to kill you? Incredible." said Akira,
"And then he died. Well, if you think that's weird wait 'till I tell you about the autopsy on my father's corpse. He weighed twice as much dead as he did alive, you see he wasn't the only thing that had died." explained Ryo,
"Oh my god, What do you mean?" Asked Shinji,
"That's my father's legacy, it's a terrible secret and I just can't carry the burden alone. If there wasn't so much at stake I'd spare you it's harm, as it is I need someone I can trust to share the secret with. I want you two to accept the responsibility of my father's legacy with me." said Ryo evenly.
They drove the rest of the way in silence, eventually they pulled up to some gates. Ryo used a remote to open them and drove close to the front door. Exiting the car they entered the house,
"Is it alright if I leave my shoes on?" asked Shinji,
"I Don't give a Shit." replied Ryo.
They walked through the living room and up some stairs, "Do you remember my father my father was an archeologist?" asked Ryo,
"Yeah, he was pretty famous." replied Akira.
"Yeah, well he was investigating some Mayan ruin's when he made an interesting discovery. He'd been ferreting about in some undergrowth away from the main dig, when he slipped and fell down a hole. He discovered it wasn't so much a hole but a tunnel, naturally being curious he followed it. It lead miles down in to the bowels of the earth, what he found down there was a very unusual artifact." explained Ryo, he opened a door and stepped in holding the door open for Shinji and Akira,
"Jesus it's cold, why's it so cold in here?" asked Shinji,
"It's because of the artifact." said Ryo pointing behind them, They both turned around,
"Arrgh, It's horrible." yelled Akira as he ran out the room Shinji just stared at it.
"Relax, it's very much dead." said Ryo.
On the table was a mask that looked like a demon's head, "remind you of any thing?" asked Ryo,
"It looks like a Demon." commented Akira,
"Doesn't it? It's exactly how people pictured Demons." stated Ryo,
"So it's a representation made by the ancient Mayan's?" asked Shinji,
"No it's not, this comes years before the Diluvia epoch, long before the ice age even. This err… artifact, well it wasn't made by any human beings." explained Ryo,
"It's not really an artifact?" asked Akira,
"No, to be exact this is an extraordinary fossil. It's the skull of a Demon." replied Ryo, "To the ancient Mayan's this was the most important religious icon in existence, it possesses special magical powers, by placing it over your head it enables the wearer to see in to the ancient world of Demons. Now it's your turn to wear the Demon skull."
"No fucking way Ryo I'm outta here, gosh I'll be seeing you soon." said Akira as he turned to leave,
"Akira! You have to stay and try this on. Only by looking into the past can you understand what may occur in the future." said Ryo stopping Akira in his tracks,
Ok, do it." relented Akira.
Ryo walked up to Akira placing the skull over his head, Akira seemed to go into a trance, he stayed that way for about ten minutes. Yelling out Akira took the skull off and quickly gave it to Ryo, he was breathing heavily which made Shinji uncomfortable. Now it was Shinji's turn to wear the skull, he reluctantly walked over to Ryo and turned around, then Ryo placed the skull over his head.
Shinji watched as his vision blurred all the colors of the room merged together and turned to black, as soon as he blinked his view changed again to show he was in some kind of grassland. He watched as Dinosaurs roamed free, he looked around and saw a woman she looked like a cross between a moth and a woman. She was drinking at a river when a snake like creature tried to attack her, she took flight to escape the snake creature only to be attacked by another creature which tore her wing off. She flapped the remained of her wings and landed near a tree, just as she relaxed tentacles reached out and grabbed her, they tore into her skin and merged with her.
The snake creature appeared and tried to attack her again, seeing it she used the tentacle she'd merged with to grab it. The skin from her left shoulder to her right hip tore open as some kind of net like skin rapped around the snake creature. The skin contracted around the snake creature until it's body had been crushed, and blood covered everything. Suddenly everything went black., the surface Shinji was stood on turned to liquid and covered him. He blinked, then realized he was back in the room with Akira and Ryo.
Taking the skull off Ryo took them downstairs into the living room, "As you've seen, Demon's are highly aggressive, they delight in destruction. However their fighting amongst themselves serves a purpose, it's a sort of perverse version of Darwin's theory of evolution. When one demon consumes another it gains the others special power, making it a new Demon a sort of stronger composite of the original two." explained Ryo,
It's incredible to think Demons once existed." said Shinji,
"'There are more things in Heaven and earth horatio' or whatever Shakespeare said." replied Ryo,
"All I can say is I'm damned glad there aren't any Demons around these days, just seeing what they got up to is enough to make me know the world's better off now." commented Akira,
"Yeah it would be, if indeed it were really free of Demons. But remember Demons are supposed to be immortal, so how can the world be free of something immortal. The fact that there are so many different stories from around the world relating to Demons suggest to me that they far from died out. Are you familiar with Dante's work 'The Divine Comedy'?" asked Ryo, "Dante was an extraordinary talent born in the thirteenth century. His 'Divine Comedy' is an epic work chronicling a journey through Heaven, Purgatory and down into Hades. He wrote that in the lowest levels of hell he saw Demon's frozen in ice and in the very coldest of ice was the king of Demons. This creatures name was Lucifer, the evil one, God's old adversary the anti-Christ."
"What do you mean? maybe that Dante saw these things?" asked Shinji, "That Demons have been entombed in ice since the last ice age?"
"Yes, I think so, because of the second impact the ice in Antarctica was destroyed. Now I think they've been freed." theorized Ryo,
"You mean…"
"Yes, as we are we're defenseless against them, there's very little that can actually destroy a Demon. If that weren't bad enough we now have other problems to contend with, as you know my father's work has brought both of you in to close proximity with Demonic influences. We know their secret we're no longer safe from them, we must always be ready for them, you understand?"
"Ryo this is bullshit." said Akira,
Ever since he found the skull he became obsessed, Dad wanted to discover everything about Demons. What he actually found was a way for human beings to meld with demons, my father was quite literally a case of Demonic possession. He couldn't control the Demon he melded with so he killed himself. However things could've been different, if he'd controlled the Demon he would of gained all of it's power." explained Ryo,
"So, he'd of been able to fight with Demons on equal terms?" asked Shinji,
"That's the way he planed it but some of his facts were wrong, this way I want to show you some of his notes." said Ryo as they walked out of the living room and into a hallway. Suddenly the glass in the windows shattered sending shards at them, the roof collapsed making a hole and a Demon with tentacles like an octopus crawled through the hole,
"They're here." yelled Ryo.
They ran down the hallway away from the from the octopus Demon, at the end they turned left, only to be greeted by a Spider like Demon. They quickly turned around and ran towards the front door, deciding it would take to long to open the door Ryo jumped through the window next to it. They quickly scrambled into the car, not noticing the unwanted guest. Ryo fired up the engine and put it in reverse, he didn't bother opening the gates instead he drove right through them, putting the car in first gear he drove as fast as he could away from his house.
They were driving on a hillside road, when Ryo suddenly hit the brakes, further along the road there had been a landslide that had knocked out the road. Evidently their unwanted guest decided to make an appearance in the form of a mouth made from the backseat, Akira and Shinji leaned forward onto the driver and passenger seats, as the mouth spat saliva at them, the saliva hit their backs melting a hole in their clothes.
"Quick! Get out of there!" ordered Ryo,
"I can't the doors jammed!" replied Akira,
"Brake the window!" said Shinji as he broke the window on his side of the car.
Ryo reached into his trench coat and pulled out a shotgun and fired at the mouth, getting out the car he put some distance, reloaded the gun and fired at the car causing it to explode. The explosion sent a door crashing into the hillside, while Shinji and Akira sat on the ground,
"They're real." said Akira who seemed to be in shock,
"Yes, I'm sorry. If there was any other way for me to fight these things alone, I would of done so. The fact is I'm just not strong enough, I can only hope you can forgive me." said Ryo sadly.
Suddenly tentacles wrapped around Ryo and Shinji's legs, Ryo dropped the shotgun which landed near Akira, he picked up the gun but some tentacles wrapped around the gun and Akira's hand.
"Shoot it!" yelled Shinji and Ryo as the tentacles pulled them towards the car door. Said car door began to change, as it split open into another mouth. Akira tried to pull free the gun from the tentacles grip, but it was no use. Taking the initiative he ran towards the door/mouth, he put the barrel of the gun in the mouth/door and pulled the trigger. Blood and guts covered both Akira and the hillside, Akira shakily took steps away from the door/mouth and backed into Ryo. Still on edge he pointed the gun at Ryo.
"Calm down it's over, you did it the things dead. Come on we've got to get back to the house." said Ryo as he headed towards a forest that lead to the back of Ryo's house.
"My parents went missing during the Katsuragi expedition at the North pole, do you think they disturbed Demons?" asked Akira out of the blue,
"Quite possible, in fact probably." replied Ryo,
"So anyway, why are we going back to the house?" Asked Shinji,
"To get ready for the fight to come. I'm warning you it isn't gonna be easy." replied Ryo.
They arrived at the back of the house, Ryo opened the window to the study, climbing in they quietly made their way out of the study into the hallway. In the hallway the Spider Demon was literally hanging out and had it's back to them. Ryo opened a panel in the floor, he entered a 3-didget pass code which activated an elevator that rose from the floor. The sound of the elevator rising notified the Spider Demon to their presence, it saw them entering the elevator and started running towards them. It got to the elevator as three quarters of the elevator was below ground level it stuck it's legs through the gap trying to grab at least one of them, but they ducked under it's legs it reluctantly retracted it's legs before they were cut off.
The elevator stopped leaving them in darkness, "So, this is the end huh?" asked Shinji.
"Well that depends." said Ryo,
"On What?" asked Akira,
"On how far you're prepared to go to fight them." replied Ryo,
"You name it we'll do it." said Shinji in a sudden act of bravery,
"It's okay, we'll do whatever has to be done, whatever it takes, someone has to stop these bastards. If that someone has to be one of us, we wont shirk away from the responsibility fate has on us." said Akira proudly,
"Now you must tell us how." stated Shinji,
"Alright then, I'll tell you. There is only one way possible for a human being to truly defeat a Demonic entity, you must become one with a Demon, understand? Only another Demon is able to fight with a Demon. I must warn you, if you allow the Demon you join with to take possession of you immortal soul, you will burn in hell. The sufferings of the damned are well chronicled in the bible, the price of failure is extremely high. The last entry in my father's journal states that, 'It is possible for a mortal human to join with a Demon, thus gain its powers. However to retain his own consciousness and suppress the Demonic forces within him, this person must be a righteous young man of pure and virtuous nature.'" Stated Ryo,
Well I guess we're young men, but how do we know if we're really virtuous?" asked Akira,
"If you go through with the process we'll find out." said Ryo as he started walking down some steps that lead to a set of double doors.
"Well alright then, I guess a mans got to do what a mans got to do." said Akira,
"You'll have to be absolutely sure, there will be no going back." said Ryo,
"How can we make our consciousness suppress the Demon's will?" Asked Shinji,
"If you manage it you'll be the first." Said Ryo with a shrug,
"So on the one hand, there's a chance we may not be able to suppress the Demons we join with and we'll be damned. On the other our credentials will prove to be satisfactory and we'll become a sort of God." said Akira with a smirk.
Ryo smiled, "Yeah, those are the options, unfortunately there's no way of knowing how it's going to go. So we're just gonna have to try it."
"Are you gonna try and join with a Demon as well?" asked Shinji.
Ryo smile widened, "Oh yeah, I'll try my best to make a union."
Akira got a serious look on his face, "Okay, open the door and let's take a swing at the mother fuckers."
"Okay, once the door's open there can be no going back" said Ryo.
Ryo swung open the door to reveal, loud music and people dancing, Shinji stood with a shocked look on his face.
"What the fuck?!? What the hell is this? Some sort of shit for brains joke?" yelled Akira.
Ryo just laughed, walking over to a seat and sat down, "Calm down, this is a modern day version of an ancient riot known as a Sabbath, they were used by witches. You see, in the past communion with the forces of darkness were more common, the 'Black Mass' or Sabbath was used to attract evil spirits in search of a host. The ceremony were specially designed to make it easier for humans to meld with Demons, that's our objective today, so we have to make the same kind of circumstances as far as we can. You see Demons find union with humans difficult because our powers of reason prevent it, the Sabbath is designed to destroy reason. Other animals, fish, reptiles or whatever you like don't posses any reason, you see? So Demons find it very easy to meld with these animals because they've got no powers of reason to get in the way."
"Oh, so in order for a union with a Demon to take place, we need to abandon our powers of reason?" questioned Shinji,
"Precisely, we have to cast aside human reason completely. Which is why I laid on this little lot, I gathered this bunch of no hopers myself, they're use to throwing reason away in the pursuit of pleasure. It'll be easier to abandon our powers of with these people around." stated Ryo.
Realization dawned on Shinji, "Hey wait a minute, we're not gonna be the only ones turning into Demons, they will too."
"Correct, however there is one thing, I haven't told these people any thing about Demons, they're not gonna know what's happening. I know you're thinking that these people will also become possed by Demons and will probably try to attack us, that I'm afraid is an unavoidable consequence of the situation. We must destroy them all!" replied Ryo coldly,
"You're crazy! How the hell can well possibly fight this lot! Look at them we'll be cut to ribbons! Surely you can see we don't stand a chance!" exclaimed Akira,
"Just shut the fuck up!" shouted Ryo, "If we can't beat this bunch of no hopers then we may as well give up. Remember we'll have to destroy thousands of Demons if we're to save the earth, we have to hope we join with the Demons that are capable of beating this lot, other wise it's a waste of time. I told you all along this thing is going to be very very risky, so perhaps I should remind you what's at stake here is far grater than our own lives. It's the future of the planet its self, we have to do our utmost to prevent the Demons from getting it back.." before he could continue two young women walked over and dragged Shinji and Akira on the to dance floor.
Shinji and Akira were having a great time dancing and drinking, until the sound of glass smashing and a scream piercing the music.
"There's only one other fucking thing need for the Sabbath and that's plenty of blood." said Ryo as he cut the face of a man with a broken bottle.
Ryo ran about cutting, slashing and stabbing people until he grabbed from behind. He tried to get free but both men and women decided to punish him by beating him to death, all the while Shinji and Akira tried to get over to help him, but were stopped by the others.
Shinji got stopped by a man nearly double his size, not in the mood he tired to push past him, but didn't have any luck. The man tried to punch Shinji, but he was to fast, Shinji lost his temper and did a roundhouse kick which miraculously knocked the man out. The kick had it's drawback it left him open to an attack in the form of a bottle to the face which sent him to the floor, while all around them everyone was laughing at their misfortune. Suddenly electricity surged through the electrical equipment, as people held their stomach or head in pain as they began to mutate. Shinji and Akira quickly ran over to Ryo while they were all distracted.
Shinji, Akira, do you feel any change happening inside you?"
"No!" they both replied,
"Well then, somehow we've fucked up!" exclaimed Ryo as he stood up.
They all ran in a different direction, Akira's path was blocked by a Demon he quickly ran in the opposite direction, when he stumbled as if someone hit him. He stopped dead in his tracks holding his arms out parallel to the ground, he suddenly turned around with a grin on his face, "Okay Demons, this is it, I'm gonna send you straight back to hell. I've done it! I'm Devilman!" said Akira as he finished transforming.
He ran forward grabbing a Demon by it's head and crushing it, he then punch another Demon through the stomach. Shinji watched in horror, he'd known Akira for a year and had never seen come close to this kind of violence. Shinji suddenly felt a pain unlike anything he'd ever felt, it was like someone had climbed into his body. He heard his heart beating and realized what was happening, he closed his eyes and repeated his famous mantra, 'I mustn't run away, I mustn't run away, I mustn't run away…'
When he opened his eyes he could feel the power, he called to Devilman who was holding a Demon's severed head in his hand, "Hey Devilman, want some help?"
Devilman dropped the head and smirked, "The more the merrier." Shinji quickly transformed and went on a Demon killing spree with Devilman.
'Incredible!' thought Ryo, 'They've got complete control of the demons they've melded with. The way they revel in killing. Oh my God, they're monsters, Devils amongst Devils. I only wanted to make allies for humanity, but it looks like I've created the greatest Demons of all. Please God, don't make me another Victor Frankenstein.'
All the while Shinji and Akira ripped, tore, shredded, sliced, decapitated and broke Demon body parts. After they had finished they transforming back to human they realized they were the only ones left standing. Shinji was the first to realize he was naked he quickly grabbed a pair of pants that were on the floor and put them on. Looking around he soon found some for Akira, as he continued to look around he saw something move. Thinking it was a Demon he cautiously approached, when he was close enough he saw not what it was but who it was, luckily he was still breathing.
Shinji called out to Akira, "Akira, I've found Ryo."
Akira rushed over taking the pants from Shinji, "How is he?"
"I don't know, we have to get him to a doctor." replied Shinji.

…And that's how it happened." finished Shinji.
Misato stared shock evident on her face, she had started out with one can of beer, now she had ten empty ones on the table about to become eleven, "Wow, I thought I had it rough."
Shinji smiled, "It's not all bad, I have some kick ass abilities. The best one is telekinesis especially when a cute girl walks by in a dress or skirt." Shinji stood up, "I'm gonna go for a walk if you don't mind?" when she didn't reply he left.
He wandered the streets for a while not caring where he was going, this always happens when he tells about how he became a Devilman. He soon found himself in front of a Nerv entrance, running his ID card through the scanner he waited for the doors to open once they were he entered. Once again he wandered not taking notice of where he was going or the people he passed, curious as to where he was he looked up and came face to face with the green behemoth Garuda.
Hoping to be alone he closed his eyes and opened his mind to his surroundings, he was surprised when he sensed three souls without bodies. He opened his eyes and looked up at Garuda, suddenly Shinji fell to his knees clutching his head in pain as memories he had long forgotten came rushing back.

A four year old Shinji Ikari stood looking out of an observation window, totally oblivious to what was happening.
"Ikari…? What is a child doing here? This is a very important experiment, and…" said a younger Fuyutsuki,
"I'm sorry, Dr. Fuyutsuki. I brought him." said Gendo,
"But today is an important day!"
Gendo smiled, "That's exactly why. I want him to remember this day… To show him humanity's bright future."
Suddenly the Eva began the convulse, technicians began to run around trying to right the problem.
"What's wrong? What's happening?!" shouted Dr. Naoko Akagi,
"Flat line! No vital signs on the test subject!" replied a technician,
"Cut the connection! Abort the test!" commanded Naoko.
The Eva's shoulders slumped forward as the entry plug was ejected, L.C.L poured out onto the walkway as everyone waited for the pilot Yui Ikari to climb out. But it never happened, instead an empty plug suit fell out of the entry plug.

Shinji looked up at Garuda with streaming down his face, "Mother."
Standing up Shinji wiped away his tears as he faded out of the Eva cages, he appeared several feet above a sea of L.C.L. Within seconds of appearing he sprouted his wings and hovered, in front of him was a giant white figure attached to a red cross.
Shinji looked at the figure and smiled, "Hello Mother."
Finished finally. This was a wee bit longer then expected hope you like it. I guess I should give you quick run down of my theory of creation?
Okay so, God was lonely so he created Adam the first angel, Adam lived happily for a while but he to became lonely so asked God to create him a partner. Thus Lillith was made, Lillith and Adam live in a male dominated existence which Lillith didn't like. So she went to God and complained, God was sexist so said 'Live with it, or leave.' so she did. Adam once again complained 'bout being lonely, so God put him to sleep and removed one of his ribs. Out of this rib Eve was created and was very subservient, thus Angel were born of Adam and Eve. Later the Angels got into an argument and thus half the Angels went to earth and became the Fallen, Lillith who had been wandering the earth bumped into Lucifer or Satan, they got into a relationship and Demons were born. God not liking the way Lucifer and Lillith were getting along decided to intervene, so he threatened to kill a thousand Demons a day unless Lillith left Lucifer. Lillith who loved her children left Lucifer to wander the earth yet again. While wandering she met up with Cain Adam and Eve's first son, they got together and humans were made.
So that should help you out a bit with my story, I hope. Third chapter is the meeting with Ramiel the 5th Angel and the reactivation of Unit-00.
