Notice: This is a rewrite I didn't like the pacing of this episode so I decided that it needed some things

A/N: Hello I thought I should mention a few things here just to place a foundation or whatever counts as one

I want to point out that first off, this is my first ever fanfic that I have ever written so any and all criticism will be read and appreciated .Secondly, I want to mention I don't just have lots of free time and so please don't expect consistent updates and chapters but I promise to try and write stuff regularly. Thirdly , if you have any suggestions , I will gladly hear them as although I have a rough roadmap of what I want to do, there are many details left to truly iron out. This chapter will probably be shorter and next one will probably be also short just to set the tone but I will try to write longer chapters afterwards.(no promises)

Any ways with all that being said please don't just bash my story for the sake of bashing it ,I mean I get it ,I'm not that good as it is probably the first ever story I'm writing like this. If you have any problems point them out and if possible provide solutions to those problems.

Okay , I think I'm done so after all that please enjoy the story (or whatever short novella I have made so far)

The bunny and fox police duo ,Judith Laverne Hopps and Nicholas Piberius Wilde respectively, step out of their cruiser after giving chase to the speeding mammal .

Judy knocks on the window of the now stationary vehicle , where to both of the officers' surprise , they see none other than "Flash , Flash ,hundred yard dash!"

Flash slowly but simply responds with "...Hey." whilst sluggishly breaking into a smile.

Judy ,being the dutiful cop she is putting her career first , simply states "Back to my original point, sir , you have been speeding and ,considering this is a first official recorded offence, there will be a fine you will be required to pay , if you don't pay the fine by the allocated time without an acceptable reason , the punishment will escalate. Do you understand, sir?"

Flash hesitates ,his face then simply responds"... Yes"

After hearing this ,Nick and Judy look at each other and think alike for a split second where Judy then tries to respond, stating "Due to y-"

Flash finishes his statement from before "... I … understand."

"Ugh any ways , once again sir, due to your assistance in the 'Nighthowler case' you will have a reduced fine however do not expect this to continue in the future, this show of appreciation will be a one time thing. Do yo-"

Flash ,although usually slow, responded quite quickly, cutting off Judy once again "Thank … you … both … of … you. "Judy hands the speeding ticket ,which Flash takes and inserts into his pocket…after a few minutes of course. Judy continued looking at the sloth to ensure that the ticket wasn't discarded in front of them whereas Nick now started looking around as he started to have this unease about the location .A slight suspicion something will happen. A sixth sense that grew and strengthened due to the decade or so of living on the streets.

"Hey err Carrots, I'm gonna go and check the area. Something's off to me, especially that alleyway there." Nick was eyeing the alleyway extremely attentively.

"Sure Slick , I'll finish up with this then re-join you." Judy responded only half listening as she tried to deal with the current problem that was to solve. Flash.

"Fluff, " Nick states whilst looking at his childhood friend "No offence but I think I'll be back before you are ready to assist." He knew that Flash wanted to just leave the ticket somewhere and that he would pay it, but not right away.

Judy proceeds to look back at the sloth then complained "I hate it when you're right, you know?"

"Well you better learn to tolerate it quick, partner." Nick quips while unbuckling his tranquilliser and preparing his darts, just in case. Judy rolled her eyes, knowing that the fox was right again. Now Nick turned around and proceeded to approach the shady alley ,while avoiding some of the cars that were driving past. Within the shady alley, two shadowy figures stand , a shorter one and a larger mammal. Aww great , I have to use two different cartridges if I want to engage with my tranquilliser, luckily a standard issue baton doesn't require ammunition the fox thought while observing their movements.

"Hey guys or girls mind if I.. oh no" the vulpine saw more defined features of the two figures , a large sheep known to Nick and his currently occupied partner as Doug and a raccoon ,which the fox had never seen before. "Okay what is an oversized blanket doing with a new citizen sorry but you are both under arrest ."Almost instantly after saying this Nick yells "Hey Carrots , I'd really love your help now!"

Nick aims the tranquilliser at Doug where he sees a different projectile launcher within his hooves. As he pulls the trigger both criminals react ,one raises the weapon in their hand the other grabs the closest bin lid and throws it to block the dart that is currently flying through the air. "Well that makes everything a lot more interesting .JUDY!WHERE ARE YOU?IT TURNS OUT CAPTAIN ZOOTOPIA IS HERE ,JUST YOU KNOW IN YOUR OWN TIME.I swear those ears are just for decoration ."He pulls out his baton.

The raccoon simply looks at Doug with a curious look to which Doug simply grunts out "Well it isn't loaded give me a second. You know it isn't easy to put the pellets in. "The raccoon rolls his eyes then pulls out a knife to attack the red fox in front of him.

"I hope you are planning on putting that on the ground and surrendering because I honestly feel like I am outmatched and I REALLY NEED ALL THE HELP I CAN GET, PARTNER"

The raccoon lunges at Nick ,who jumps back to avoid an impromptu street surgery. "Well straight to the point , can't say I'm a fan but can't say I'm against it. "He responds both verbally and physically by wrapping his left hand around the raccoons wrist then attempting to knock the knife away. Key word in that sentence was attempt. The raccoon lets go of his knife and grabs it in his other hand where he now slashes horizontally at Nick's chest. Nick instinctively parries with his baton and then knees the raccoon in the stomach. The knee was effective but only for a second. The unidentified raccoon bended over forward as his instinct to the hit kicked in. The raccoon was about to strike again but got a baton to the face. One down , one to go. "Listen your friend is down, just give up. After last time, I won't be so generous."

*SPLAT* There was a slight dripping and stinging feeling that caught the fox's neck.

"Oh god , I completely forgot. "Nick pulls out his cuffs as panic took over his body, it was like a flood of fear and his body was quaking violently. He knew what could happen and was scared for the results. By some stroke of luck and a strong sense of self control, he chained himself to the convenient pole right next to him. Now he dropped to the floor ,frothing from the mouth and shaking on the floor.

2 minutes earlier ,back at the car.

Flash notices Nick walking away "Where … is … he..."

"Going? Well he has some suspicions about the area so he is only checking something out .Don't worry, flash, he will be fine"(this is called tempting fate or dramatic irony) "He'd call out if something happens." Judy turns back and notices that Flash has stopped pocketing the ticket and was almost excited but realised it was in his hand "Flash , what are you going to do with the ticket?"

"Oh… sorry … I … forgot … to … put … it … in … my … pocket. "Flash retries putting the yellow sheet in his pocket .First time unsuccessful however by the lord's grace the slip slipped into his pocket on the second attempt of the second set.

Under her breath, Judy mutters "Finally." then returns to a normal voice "Well Flash I believe we are done here so you can drive on now but don't break any more speed limits. It would make everyone's life much easier."

"I … completely … understand … Judy… . …I hope … we … meet … under … better …circumstances … next … time."

"Agreed, goo-"

From the distance a faint voice is heard "-the help I can get ,partner."

"Uh oh" Judy blatantly states .She grabs her radio and calls for backup "Hold on Slick , I'm coming ".She ran and managed to perfectly land on a moving car and slide on its hood. It was like something out of a movie and she did not expect it to work. She carried on running, The fate of her partner depended on it.

Once turning the corner, she pulls out her flash light and sees the large sheep fleeing. The bunny instinctively draws her tranquilliser and fires at the sheep. After that , she notices her partner cuffed to a pole. She scrambles for her keys and carefully walks towards the chained fox. "Hey Slick, you alright?"

Nick slowly raises his head ,making incoherent noises that sounded like gargling , froth was dripping from his mouth. He opened his eyes ,revealing that he is currently savage, and started growling louder. Judy completely dropped her guard but jumped back and whimpered "Nick, no…"

With Judy's guard completely down, the raccoon, which had hidden in the bin within the alley, decided to strike now. Fortunately, Judy's 'excellent' bunny hearing prepared her for the leap from the unknown attacker. She jumps back, avoiding the slash of the knife. Now with her enemy open to an attack, the doe launches herself and strikes the raccoon an hard as she can ,knocking the raccoon down. The raccoon rolls backwards into the wall then uses it to launch himself into the bunny cop. This attack completely surprises the doe and she then tries to avoid the knife but gets slashed across the arm ,staggering her.

The feral fox that is currently cuffed barks at the duo as he sees this happening and pulls at his restraint. After a few failed attempts ,he then chews on the cuff a bit to attempt to loosen it.

The two mammals continue fighting now with the bunny at a disadvantage of having one less limb available for use . She decides to take a risk and charge at the armed assailant ,who now reciprocates the motion ,until the bunny slides and knocks the raccoon over .The raccoon , now angry, sees that the officer is getting up behind him and kicks her kneecap, forcing her to the floor. He uses this opportunity to then try and stab her again this time in the hip.

However, to the raccoon's dismay, something in Nick snapped. He charged towards the raccoon ,where this time the cuff broke, letting the fox unleash himself. The wild(e) beast topples the raccoon and then stands on him, disarming the criminal. His head lowers and jaw opens surrounding the neck of his now current victim. As his jaws tighten around his neck , the raccoon begs and pleads to spare his life ,however this falls on deaf ears. Judy looks up with the last of her strength and with all her might says "Nick , don't".

Within this state of rage and savagery , he heard none of this.

*CRUNCH*

Blood splatters around the area . Blood flowed like a river from the raccoon's neck and bubbles started forming at the entrance of the trachea. The crimson liquid flowed into a pool. The raccoon whimpered a bit as best as he could in his current condition and tears formed in his eyes. Then he went completely limp. The raccoon has been killed. It was unpreventable.

He lets go of the deceased body now and turns towards Judy. "Uh oh."

Inside a nearby building overlooking the alleyway

"There seems to be some complications, sir"

"That's okay, we were expecting opposition eventually."

"Sir, do I take the shot?"

"Is that sheep there?"

"Affirmative sir, he is unconscious."

"Take the shot."

"And the officers?"

"Let them live for now. They wont be an issue for now."

"Yes sir."

The window is slightly opened where a short barrel and muzzle with a silencer poke out. A single high powered bullet is fired at the sleeping sheep just as the neck of the raccoon is crushed. Perfectly timed and perfectly aligned, there was no mistake, this was a professional.

"Good riddance, scum. Hope Bellwether joins you soon."

A/N: So after re-reading the intro so far , I feel I have poorly explained why Judy didn't hear Nick shouting from the alleyway so to those curious the explanation is quite straight forward. They were on opposite sides of a busy road and well cars aren't exactly quiet especially ones that use petroleum. Also Judy was currently in a conversation so she would tune out all noise as background noise .

Another thing I wanted to mention was that ,I won't make every chapter as brutal as this one but there will be times when it is such a situation so this is a warning for later and sorry I didn't put this before but I just forgot (you might need to expect this quite a bit my memory is not as good as it was even just last year in over words its inconsistent)

Honestly, after this chapter I kinda want to try make some joke or quip here so I don't seem so serious but no promises
