Enigma
Such an innocent, open guise.
Who would believe that the changeable eyes
And smile as wide as the Kansas skies
Conceal so many dangerous lies?
Cool facade, hiding passionate mind
Dares to seek what it must not find.
Forged by fire, but in water burned
Will you take what you dare not earn?
Unlikely a meeting as ever has been
Chance so alters the paths of men.
Too alike for trust, too different to hate -
But unite, or divide? A question for fate.
Mirrored great powers, yin and yang, means and goals,
Precarious balance, like magnetic poles
Bound opposition, less than friend, more than foe
Will highs and lows cancel ... or make whole?
Opposite ultimates, each bright and each dark
Worlds drawn together, worlds forced apart
Destined for greatness, each on their own
But greater, or lesser, together?
