Chapter 1
UNSC calendar March 15th, 2057 location: Ceres orbital strike platform, reach. 35 hours before reach attack.
Hawke had been with the UNSC for about 13 months now, for this amount of time he had seen Zero covenant combat. Hawke is a broadsword strike bomber pilot. He was currently working on his bomber when Captain Ford announced pilot rotations for the day.
"All pilots listen up," Ford had a deposition to be mean to some of the greener pilots then toward the veterans, and Hawke was considered a rookie. " Johnson and McCarthy are too patrol around Selenz Defense cluster. McDowell, Jenkins and Hawkins you get shit duty today, there are five Transports coming in from the Hercules research station and you get to escort them in. All pilots have one hour to suit up." Then the intercom clicked off. Paul Jenkins and Peter Hawkins were both green as can be, while Robert Johnson and Michael McCarthy were the squadrons' veterans and got the easiest assignments.
