Yoohoo! I'm back to writing! I got this sick idea from watching one of these youtuber MV animation type of things. It was cool so I thought I should write a thing about Jaune, and if I actually enjoy the concept I might apply it to an original story!Anyway, I've been gone a long time and suddenly starting up another story looks like its a bad idea but hear me out, I like writing but like I like... have those eureka moments at the most random times. So I think I should write about stuff whenever I get an idea.Anyway I hope you enjoy it!

Princess Blake the Fair and

The King of Skulls

Atop the grand palace of Menagerie, in a tall ivory tower. Lived a young maiden, she was a decent height and had a healthy body, she sat by the window admiring the sunset. On her lap was a story book, about the valiant knights of the kingdom and their exploits.

Princess Blake loved to read, it was her hobby. She frequents the royal library, everyday a new book could be seen on her table. Most of which told gallant stories of knights and romance.

A knock on her door caught her attention, she walked toward the door. The door creaked as it opened, she was met with bright smiles of two sisters. "Heya Blake!" said Ruby, the princess of a small nation named Patch. Next to her was her blonde sister, Yang who waved with a bright smile.

Patch was a small nation, but there lived the most talented warriors the world had ever seen so in standing they were the same. Blake enjoyed their company, though she liked her alone time, she also liked to spend time with her friends.

"Good evening Ruby"

"What? It's not even sun down! Let's go downstairs and watch the knights in training" Yang said with a sultry smirk. It was unbecoming for a princess to show such a face Blake thought a little but she couldn't blame her. Blake herself had dabbled in things that other princesses and queens would call...unrefined but she didn't care.

Blake understood that others had different things they were into, so for that she didn't judge them.

"Ew Yang! No! That's no fun!" Ruby said sticking her tongue out in disgust.

"Aw don't go saying that Ruby, you're about to be of age! Learn to appreciate hot guys more" Yang joked.

Blake smiled "You know Yang, Ruby can like whomever she likes she doesn't need to rush."

Yang rolled her eyes "that exactly what I expected to hear from someone called 'the Fair'"

Blake shrugged, she was right. Blake was called the Fair for a reason and its not only because she was beautiful. It was because she was fair to all, poor or not she was considerate. She was said to be one of the most kind and most promising future leaders of the country.

"So Blake..." Ruby fidgeted with her fingers. Blake smiled sweetly "Yes Ruby you can touch them"

Ruby's awkward expression vanished as she smiled and ran up to Blake. Blake sat on her bed as Ruby started patting her black cat ears.

Another reason she was labeled 'The Fair' was because even though she was a faunus, she was kind to humans. Unlike the stereotype, she actually enjoyed their company. She loved talking to them and getting a different perspective of the world.

She purred slightly as she enjoyed being fluffed softly by Ruby "She did the thing Yang!"

Blake laughed and so did Yang. The rest of the day was bliss as they hung out in Blake's room. They discussed many thing, ranging from different military powers in different countries to what the latest fashion trend in the main kingdoms were.

"Anyway, Blake there are rumours going around that you were to meet with a prince"

"King now actually..." Blake said sadly.

"Oh, he must be quite rich then, for your parents to even care about his proposal"

Yang said as Ruby jabbed her shoulder "Sis! That's insensitive! Can't you see Blake looks sad about it?"

"It's fine Ruby, its just... It's true he's rich and some even say he's dashing but..."

"But?" both sisters asked.

"He's from a kingdom that's a part of Vale"

"Oh he must be familiar with-"

Blake sighed "Ansel..."

Ruby and Yang's eyes widened "Ansel!?"

"Yes, the new kingdom that has been taking over other countries using military might. They had wide leaps in technology and magic recently and other countries can't compare"

"So...you basically don't like him because he's from one of the war mongering nations?" Ruby asked.

"Yeah... Well it's not that I don't like him... it's just i don't know who he is, he might be unstable you know? Or even worse... abusive.." Blake knew what relationships were like she had seen many in her short life. She knew that this man, the king of Ansel could do whatever he wants with her behind closed doors and she was scared of that.

If all went well at the greeting, her parents would send her over to his kingdom to see what it was like there for at least a month. Who knows what could happen to her in a month.

Yang and Ruby pat her back "Don't worry Blake, I'm sure it will be fine. From what I heard, the King is a silent type who takes joy on outsmarting his enemies on the battlefield." Ruby said.

Yang hit her sister on the back of her head "Don't listen to her, from what I heard he tried to court a princess from Atlas and was rejected, instead of sending an army he sent roses, I'm sure you'll be fine"

Blake added to that though "Black roses, signifying death. He might be over possessive..." Blake thought sadly.

The two sisters sighed, there was no way they could make light of the situation. Another knock came from the door. "Princesses, I will open the door" a man's voice called.

His bull horns curled with his red hair, his hand was on his blade resfully and he wore a white mask. He cut an intimidating figure but the girls weren't scared. "The King requests your presence, the King of Ansel will have an audience with you and their highnesses tonight"

Blake nodded "Of course Adam, I will head over"

The knight captain nodded, Yang and Ruby stared at her "You know he likes you right?"

Blake sighed "Yes, but its not meant to be I suppose"

Blake sat on her throne, the only child of Menagerie royalty. Next to her sat her father the king, Ghira Belladonna, a big man with muscles forged from fighting. As strong as he is, Ghira is a peace lover and looksdown on needless fighting.

Next to him was the Queen, Kali Belladonna, she looked much like her daughter but she looked older and wiser, because she was. Kali looked youthful even at her age.

"The King of Ansel will be entering the royal hall" shouted a man with a scroll.

The large doors opened, out came from it was an entourage of knights in black armour. Around six of them were at the front and behind them were two people wearing magician's robes. They formed a file around the King. As they separated a man entered, he was young yet he stood shoulder to shoulder with his troops. He wore no armor under his long red cloak yet he wore a sword on his side. He wore a golden crown adorned with gems like Sapphire and Emeralds, his gold locks covered his forehead slightly.

As he entered, it seems that the pressure of the room increased, the man was intimidating. Blake felt it, this man is dangerous.

"King of Ansel, it's wonderful to meet you"

Ghira welcomed with a smile. The man grinned "Please, call me Jaune. King of Ansel is not a title I am used to yet"

"Very well Jaune, its nice to meet you finally"

"To you too" Jaune answered.

"I trust you're here to ask the hand of my daughter in marriage" Ghira asked.

Jaune put his hand to his chin and smiled wickedly "Among other things"

Ghira's eyes sharpened "It seems your figure has intimidated some of my servants. "

Jaune shrugged "I apologize, it was not my intention to do so"

Ghira was surprised at his courteous behaviour "I must say, I'm surprised. You are quite polite for someone who is named the King of Skulls"

For a second Blake could see the man cringe but as soon as she saw it his face turned cold. His ocean blue eyes turned emotionless once more "I got that moniker from other people. That does not mean it reflects my personality.

"Good answer" Ghira said. The more they talked the more Ghira started to get closer to Jaune.

"So Jaune, I trust you will take care of my daughter if you are engaged?"

"I will, to the best of my abilities" Jaune said solemnly

Blake scrutinized the details of the young king's face, to see any hints of a lie. She was surprised at what she saw, his face was flat. As if to say "I am onto nothing"

This was suspicious to Blake but if her parents gave permission to the King then she had no choice but to follow.

Ghira smiled "I trust you know about our custom?"

"Yes, she will be staying in our kingdom for at least a month and then she herself will decide if she wants to marry" Jaune listed off.

"Indeed" the King of Menagerie said

The young King bowed, "By the name of Jaune Arc of Ansel, I swear to take care of your daughter with the most of my ability"

Blake appreciated the gesture but she still didn't fully trust him, after all, it was all it was. A gesture.

Ghira told him "Stand, you are a king. Kneeling to me will do no good for you, show it in your actions. one month to make the princess fall in love with you and King or not if you hurt her there will be war"

The young King stood up "I understand, she will be treated with utmost respect"

"Good, prepare the princess' wardrobe, she will be going with the young King"

Blake met the eyes of Jaune, he smirked and gave a devilish smile. 'Oh no...'

Jaune Arc is the King of Ansel. His father had died in a war with another country and now it was up to him to rule. Luckily he had learned many things from his father, from the first skirmish to the latest siege. He won every time, not only that but he was blessed with a large aura pool, he was able to fight by himself without the need for heavy armor like most other kings.

Through his exploits he had earned nicknames much to the fear of the populace and his displeasure. Names such as "The Ruthless", "The King of Skulls", "The Unwavering Death" and "The Genius Tactician".

Jaune had taken over multiple corrupt kingdoms around his area and had subjected those kingdoms to reform. He had done good deeds yet to others it seemed he was a warmonger who saw peace as not an option.

However, there was one thing he did not have that his father did, he did not have the confidence. So instead of acting confident he instead opted to be silent and calculating (at least as a front)

Yet even after all of those times he defied his own personality, after all the times he waged wars against evil men and fought on the battlefield. His heart still skipped a beat after he saw her.

Long black hair, amber coloured eyes which one could get lost in easily. He knew of her as "The Fair" and thought maybe he could try his luck. At first he expected a beautiful lady, probably of the haughty kind like that Atlas lady who broke his damn heart.

But he saw her in person and sure enough, she looked beautiful, as beautiful as the night sky as soon as he laid eyes on her he was in love. Yet he had a personality to keep, he saw her eyes. He sensed fear in them which saddened him slightly but that wasn't going to deter him.

She entered his carriage and sat in front of him. She wore a simple dress, a white sleeveless dress, yet to him it was enchanting. Jaune smiled kindly "I'm sorry about this" he told the princess with what he thought was a kind smile.

Blake saw a slightly sinister smile that suggested he meant exactly the opposite. She gulped slightly and politely answered "It's alright King Jaune, I suppose it's fine seeing as it is our custom"

"Reguardless you have my deepest apologies" Jaune bowed.

"Please your highness, it's alright"

Jaune took her hand "Princess, please call me Jaune" Jaune placed a kiss on her knuckle.

"I swear to you I will treat you the best I can so please, have some faith in me" Jaune stared at her with a genuine expression which caught Blake by surprise.

Blake started to think 'No way...He must be trying to give you false hope' yet Blake couldn't push herself to believe it. His eyes were genuine and for the first time ever she didn't feel the pressure of being around him.

Blake blushed as she looked away slightly she answered "I... will Jaune... I at least put some faith in you"

Author Note: Meh, Might be a one shot, might be a full story who knows. I like the premise of Jaune being a tactical genius and a decent fighter if given the correct training.

I mean the show gave it good framework ya know? He got a good aura pool, he's catchin up to his peers in terms of combat and overall I think he has what it takes to become a great huntsman(in the show)

Either way, I don't know how to write Blake. Yep you heard me right, I do NOT know how to write her. Her character to me is complex as hell (other than wanting to repent for her white fang parts) but other than that whats her personality. I know she likes to read and I know shes quiet and I also know she has cute cat ears.

Well anyway, this is just a test chapter, I'll see how it goes and if its good I'll continue. Otherwise its back to rewrite town!
