Hey everyone back with a quick chapter, so I probably should've done this after I finished the Phobia Factor chapter, but when I thought of this up, I was half way done with the Up the Creek chapter. So this chapter is set after Phobia Factor, I would switch it so it can be after the chapter, but I didn't want to confuse anyone.
Besides that, I have watched Wakanda Forever, and I really liked it. Fitting tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Also the live action Loud House series The Really Loud House is not bad so far, even though it's live action, it manages to capture the spirit of the show.
I have nothing else to say but to enjoy the chapter.
A nine year old Melissa ran through the Halloween Carnival, feeling excited where she was going to go. She had to stop though, due to a voice calling out to her.
"Hey Road Runner, stop for a minute!"
Melissa stopped, and looked at her older brother George, who was thirteen, came to stop while panting, with two other boys who were the same age as him, who were his friends Marcus and Lewis. And all three of them were panting from running.
"Jeez, not all of us are athletic squirt." George said as he ruffled her hair.
Melissa stuck her tongue at him, as she fixed her hair, and said," Maybe you should start."
Marcus looked annoyed, and said," I still don't know why we have to bring her with us? Can't your guy's parents take her? They're only parking the car."
George gave his friend a look, and said," I was hoping they would. But Mel convinced dad to let us take her while they did that."
"C'mon, Georgie! Daddy said I'm allowed to go through the maze!" Melissa impatiently said.
Both Marcus and Lewis snickered at the nickname, while George looked slightly embarrassed. Melissa had a smile, but George knew she was enjoying his embarrassment.
"Fine, let's go."
The four of them walked over to the maze, the attendant, who was dressed as the Grim Reaper, smiled at them.
"If you dare to enter, you may not come back out alive! Enter at your own risks." He said in a spooky tone.
Melissa hugged her brother's leg a little, and George glared at the worker, but rolled his eyes and walked in.
The maze itself was enclosed, there were minimal lights, light fog permeated the ground, cackling, haunting noises and monster sounds came from the speakers. George held Melissa's hand, and he was feeling slightly freaked out, including his friends. But they still found it fun. Unfortunately, when they turned a corner, which ended up being a dead end, an animatronic zombie came down from the ceiling, and scared them. All them of screamed, and ran off, but George didn't notice he lets go of Melissa's hand. A few moments later, George, Marcus and Lewis ran out of the entrance. The Grim Reaper employee smirked at the sight, and held back his laughter.
"Ah I see the maze was too much?"
All three boys glared at the worker, but the guy didn't look worried. He probably dealt with looks like that all the time.
"George, there you are!" A voice called.
George looked to his parents, Robert and Teresa approaching them.
"Hey dad, we were just in the maze."
Robert chuckled at his sons and his sons friends looks, and asked," I take it was fun?"
"You can say that Mr. Arroyo." Lewis said with weak smile.
Teresa would've found that funny, but realized something," Sweetie, where is your sister?"
George and his friends looked around, and they all started to get a bad feeling. All three of them looked at the maze, the worker also looked as well, and gulped.
"Ah shit!" George yelled.
Robert and Teresa looked just as terrified, well, Teresa actually screamed. The both of them ran into the maze, with George and his friends running in after them, while the worker called his supervisor for help.
It would take some time, but the group, which also included the fire department team on standby at the fair to get Melissa out. She ended up running around the maze, and after getting more scared; she ended up hiding in a dead end. When they found her, she was sobbing and shaking, and wouldn't let go of her mom when one of the firemen brought her out.
Melissa gasped as she woke up, got up from her bed, and looked around, while her heart pounded. The other girls were asleep, and it was still night time. It the night of the Phobia Factor challenge for the show, and a couple of hours earlier, they had voted off Eva. And Melissa had talked to Courtney about being co-leaders of the Bass.
Melissa groaned as she lay back down, she hadn't had that dream in a while. And she knew that the challenge had something to do with that.
"Stupid Chris using our fears as entertainment." She muttered.
Melissa sighed, she did the Sign of the Cross, did a short prayer, and went back to sleep.
Thankfully, the nightmare from her past didn't invade her dreams again.
And that's how Melissa got her fear. Here's another fact about Melissa in regards to the end, in a couple of syoc's I sent her to, some of the authors asked for religion in their applications. I don't think they were required, but I thought why not? And considering she's sorta a self-insert of me, except one main thing is I'm a guy. I decided to go with her being Catholic, which I am as well. And also considering she's from Guam, who are predominantly Roman Catholic, I thought it was a good idea.
Till next time
