Oh this grass is so green

And cool and soft

And my feet are so sore

And I flop back

Only to hit my head on an apple

Laying on the shadow-dappled ground

And the sound of a brook

Rushing past

Makes me want to cement myself

To the ground

But only after eating one more

Delicious apple

But then I wake up

And the ground evaporates

Into my bed

And my dog is

Eating my ears

And hair

And pillow

And sock

And new shoes

And that old Homestar Runner shirt

With the holes and sweat stains in the armpits

And my brother is blaring the music

At least it's Relient K

So I throw my head back onto my pillow

And try to fall back in to the apple tree's shade

BUT NO!!!

My dog finds it necessary to leap onto my bed

And consequently my butt

And all I want is a tranquilizer gun

Not for the dog but for me

And a rather large bowl of Sauerkraut would be rather spiffy

And I'd rather be in a rather warm place

Cause my sheets fell off during the rather restless night

And now I'm rather cold

But much too lazy to pull them up again

Or to get the 70 pounds of writhing fur off my rear

Or to get up and realize that it's Saturday…

IT'S SATURDAY???

FINALLY!!!

So I jump out of my bed

Slip some clothes on

Eat some breakfast

And let my mind slowly disintegrate

And

O

O

Z

E

Out my ears

As I watch mindless, joyous, lovely, beautiful

SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS
