Well it's been a year and a few days if I'm wrong. Sorry for this unforgivable delay. I went through a lot these months. I was working tirelessly for four months and these months I was presenting my final project for my graduation. At the end of this month I finally graduated. This month is arguably the most relaxed I've ever had. It could be said that all the effort this year was worth it. I hope many are still here and again sorry for this delay. God forbid, if one day I decide to leave this story, I will announce it.
Now Marvel, as we know has had its ups and downs with this phase. The quality products that I can point out from this phase 4 are:
Wandavision , Loki (The best ending of the series so far), What If , Shang Chi, Eternals , Hawkeye , Spiderman No way home, Moon Knight , Dr Strange In the multiverse of madness (I'm not so disappointed because I didn't expect as many cameos, as many people expected, besides what was mentioned in Wandavision is very little), Werewolf By Night (Did anyone expect it? Because I didn't), and Wakanda forever (no spoilers)
And the half products or those that did not convince me very much:
Black Widow (It comes too late in my opinion), Falcon and the winter soldier (I'm not so disappointed but the pace of the series does not convince me much), Miss Marvel (They advertise it as if it were a series for teenagers, like those who passed by Disney Channel , but that is only seen in the first, second and last chapter, the rest seems like a documentary), Thor Love and Thunder (I liked it more than the third but it seemed too short), She-Hulk (Unnecessarily 9 chapters, the entire plot could be told in 6 or less, only Daredevil saves the show).
Well that's my opinion on everything Marvel has done so far. It seems to me that this phase 4 of Marvel was like a test phase to see how to approach phase 5. In part I'm glad I waited until "No way Home" or "Into the Multiverse of Madness" to understand a little more the multiverse.
Well with that cleared up, let's continue. As always, please excuse any grammatical mistakes. All rights belong to its creators Type Moon and Marvel Comics.
Shirou walked through the corridors of the hospital while seeing the typical every day. Doctors visiting their patients. People sitting waiting for medical attention. Some other red alert that mobilized doctors to the emergency room. His Servant meanwhile walked beside him in her civilian clothes.
All the way, he could only keep thinking about the man they had been confronted with the night before and the incident that had happened on the news today morning.
Shirou kept walking while looking at how the day to day of a hospital went by around him and went to the third floor to the room where his friend was hospitalized.
However, as he walked down the hall, his Servant stopped abruptly. Her green eyes were now wide as she looked at the room where her friend was hospitalized.
- Shirou we must get out of here now- the blonde said a little upset and making sure there was no one in the corridor she projected her sword- There is a servant in this place. There are too many people to fight him, we must get him away from this place.
In her mind, Saber could only curse herself for not seeing this before. It was supposed to be able to detect some trace of magical presence two hundred meters away. How was it possible that she had just detected it 1 meter from the door.
Shirou debated whether to open the door or not. The Servant could ambush them and if they left here now they could face him, but that would mean leaving their friend inside.
-Shirou … .
….
….
Saber's voice trailed off in an instant. Shirou turned around and saw that his Servant was nowhere to be found.
- Saber- Shirou said worried and looking everywhere without finding her- ¡SABER!
It was as if she had vanished into thin air.
Concerned, he finally made a decision that could risk his life. Just as the sorcerer came to predict last night.
Opening the door quickly he braced himself for what might be inside.
….
….
Before entering even one of the doctors left the room.
-I should have made an consultation with psychology- mumbled the doctor
Instantly the redhead's disbelief turned into shock when he could see the doctor's face. It was him. Caster 's Master. The same man from the other night. The same man who swept the ground with he and Rin and was able to fight Saber. What the hell was going on here?
The doctor looked at the visitor and directed his gaze to the teenager in bed.
- Well young Issei - said the doctor as he wrote in the medical history bin- Thank you for your help and don't worry it wasn't your fault what happened last night. Besides, it looks like you have a visitor.
The boy with glasses looked at the visitor. And he could only smile.
- Emiya - he said as he wiped his glasses - You shouldn't have bothered you.
Shirou could only continue in his stupor as he blinked and collected himself.
- I said I would come - said the redhead with the best smile he could fake- You know I take what I promise seriously.
The doctor simply got up and headed for the door.
- Well, young people, I'll leave you. I'm needed in neurosurgery right now. Remember my recommendation young man. You may go home tomorrow.
-Thank you doctor- said the teenager bowing
The doctor returned the greeting and addressed the red-haired teenager.
-If you are a family member or friend, you will be interested in seeing this- said the doctor, handing him a green piece of paper- Since it is the closest, you will have to go pick up these medications at the pharmacy for your friend's recovery.
Somewhat suspiciously, he received the recipe and his eyes widened in surprise for a few moments.
I'll wait for you in 20 minutes on the roof.
-He's not coming-
-Yes, he will do it-
- Because you saw it in his eyes? - said the blue haired woman between the white curtains of the hospital ceiling reminding her of her words last night- It's very creepy if you say it
- No, because it reminds me of a certain boy - the doctor said as he saw the huge city from the roof- The one who thinks he can hide his identity. But if you look closely they are not difficult to guess. I saw it once when I faced a fan of a cult that I destroyed 1 year ago.
-I have no idea who you're talking about-
-He calls himself the "human spider" or something. He often uploads videos of himself fighting crime. I better not lengthen because you would not understand almost anything of what I am telling you.
Medea just nodded cluelessly. The most ridiculous name for a hero in her opinion.
Strange was surprised at this. He wasn't sure about bringing Medea to this place, especially not with the person closest to her former master.
One thing he feared was that when he asked young Issei the questions, she might have demanded more information about what happened that night. He had been close to her former master before all that happened. Luckily, she kept her spirit form throughout the interrogation. Although I could see what he wanted to do inside.
It was weird wearing a doctor's gown and garb again. He felt like he had regained a part of himself, lost long ago. And he did remember that moment. And he wasn't talking about the car accident.
She helped by making the hospital staff believe that he had worked there for a long time. Well she could do it with a whole temple. This was nothing to her.
When he finished his questions, they were exactly when it happened. He didn't have much information that would be useful to them, other than what they already knew. Although, the young man referred to someone who could be responsible for this. His teacher's ex-fiancée. Who disappeared after the attack. And it was no other person than the woman who was hidden in that room. Obviously, the Greek sorceress wanted to kill the young man for what he said. If she already hated him before, with that statement she didn't even need to reply anymore.
When everything was about to go to hell, they felt the presence of someone they knew. This served to appease the wrath of the witch.
He knew he had to act fast. Moving his fingers, he did a well-known trick. After that he opened the door and he met who he wants to talk to. Too bad there was someone else in that room, and although he could put him to sleep to talk to the redhead alone, he felt that the young man with glasses needed a little moral support.
- You know, I didn't say: thank you - the Doctor said, confusing the sorceress- You gave me back a part that I lost a long time ago. I know it's wishful thinking, but sometimes a little lie is good once in a while.
Medea smiled at this. It was weird really. They had only spent two days together and she felt like she could tell him everything. She had never met anyone like that before her late master. Even with him she kept some things to herself. Maybe he didn't trust her in some aspects, but she felt she could trust him.
- An illusion - she remembered his words and in his mind she could only ask for something:
"Please. Let this not be an illusion."- she said in her mind
Going back to the previous topic. Something called her curiosity. Also, she wanted to see if her level of trust in both of them had gone up.
- As what is his name?
- Who?
-That boy
Strange just returned the look. Given this, he saw that it was a good opportunity to test how strong his mental barriers were. Also, in this universe that could do so much damage.
- Ok, while we wait for it, I'll make you a little game, guess which one it is. And don't look into my mind because I'll know...
- Shinji Tōdō ….
….
…
Strange tried to resist the urge to laugh.
-You didn't even get close. Where did that name come from?
Medea pointing to the huge screen that was in one of the buildings in the city.
On the big screen there was a newscaster sadly narrating the news he revealed:
Actor Shinji Tōdō was found dead in his home
Strange could only stare at that screen in disbelief, he no longer knew what to say at the sight of a man using the cheap version of the arachnid vigilante.
- What the fu…. ?
His thoughts were interrupted when the door to the roof of the hospital, the young man only had an expression of someone who wanted a clear and concise answer. It wasn't that he was intimidated. The looks Wong gave him were much more terrifying than this.
They both stared at each other. It only took 20 seconds for this to become awkward.
- So you won't say anything? - the Doctor Asked - Well, I'm Dr. Stephen Strange - he said stretching out his hand to greet him
Shirou just looked at his hand without doing anything. This was already too awkward.
- You know, some people told me that here in Japan manners are... -
- Where is she? - the redhead said clenching his fists
- Who? - Stephen asked surprised by the abrupt question
- Saber- the young man said, raising his voice a little - If you did something to her….
Now Strange understand the reason for the boy's anger. It was obvious. He felt stupid for not thinking about it. Well, about the relationships, he wasn't the best.
- Don't worry - the doctor told him- She is safe. Well almost. Besides the fact that she almost killed me with you and the girl the last night, you shouldn't be surprised that I pushed her away for a while.
Shirou could only look on with some guilt, but he remained firm in his decision.
-I have nothing to talk about if you don't bring her back.
On the one hand, it was fair. The young man was literally here with nothing. Without his servant. For any other master, he was the perfect victim. Fortunately, he wasn't like that. Another trait of the boy's character. Any other master would have fled at the possibility of a trap. For another, the doctor still had a bit of a grudge about last night.
-Like I said, considering she almost killed me last night, this better be between you and me- he said in a disdainful voice.
- You say so - Shirou said with an ironic laugh - who has a servant who attacked many people in the city and in the temple. It's kind of hypocritical coming from you.
This was enough. Medea instantly tied the redhead's arms and legs completely immobilizing him, who had a look of surprise on his face. She was tired of being accused of being responsible for what happened in the temple.
Strange just sat on the bench and watched this unfold.
The redhead tried to get away, but he could only watch helplessly as the blue-haired woman pointed at him with a look of fury that pierced his soul, while one of the threads wrapped around his throat.
That was when the doctor knew he had to intervene.
- If you dare, once again to say that I kill him - Medea said with a broken voice- I will show you that there are worse destinies than death - she finished with a broken voice- He was my….
- Caster - the doctor told her- Put him down please. I was his age too. We do not usually think well what we say. Also, skipping that, you know he's not entirely wrong.
It was a little cruel to remind her of what happened in the first days of the war, but sometimes in order to redeem yourself, you need to accept that what happened, happened.
Medea reluctantly moved her hand and the strings that held the redhead disappeared who was already turning blue from lack of oxygen. The boy started coughing and tried to catch his breath. The doctor came over and helped him.
- I'm sorry - the doctor said patting him on the back - But if you knew who she really is, you would know hell as much fury as a woman scorned.
- Where…is…Saber? - Shirou said still trying to catch his breath
Strange sighed, he knew that he wouldn't achieve anything that way. Literally, he had been on the verge of death and yet he only thought of his servant. Yes, he was brave.
- Fine - He said as he put the ring on his fingers- But stop her if she tries to attack me, you will stop her.
"Master, I would recommend making a contract to ensure his loyalty"
"Yes….
….
….
….
- "You don't know how to make a geis right?" - she said somewhat disappointed
…
…
- "Why me?" - the witch said mentally. His master might be good at some things, but ignorant about others.
- " You know I hear you. Right?" - Strange said
- "Believe me. I know" -
After the mental talk that confused the boy because he couldn't hear anything. Strange made a decision.
- Look, my partner will make a contract for both - Strange said a little more confident - It will establish that neither will attack the other during this conversation.
Shirou thought about it.
- I didn't want it to come to this - Strange said - Look, I 'm the only one who can free her from where she is. Without me she will run out of mana in no time. In fact, the place where I locked her has delayed her demise, from what I know of Servants, they would normally vanish instantly, unless they possess independent action or have a large amount of magical energy, like Caster, but I estimate that in 5 min she will disappear without a mana source. In fact, that was a lie.
He felt bad about what he said. It made him look like a magus. This was practically blackmail. But he hoped this would convince the young man. This even surprised Medea. She did not know that her master could be cruel if he wanted to.
Shirou for his part was at a crossroads. I knew this well. He had already formed a contract with Rin to avoid harming each other throughout the war. If he accepted what this man said, he would be powerless to stop him if he turned out to be what he thought he was. But if not, Saber would vanish without a mana source.
After thinking about it, he made a decision and they both raised their hands to shake it. Medea raised her hand and spoke the spell to form the contract.
Stephen listened to every word in Greek that the witch intoned, he understood what she said.
Shirou felt the same feeling when he signed the pact with Rin. They were forced allies now. Unlike his contract with Tohsaka, which he willingly accepted. Oh, she'll kill him when she finds out. Maybe even nullify the pact that both of them had now.
- Well a deal is a deal - the Doctor said while making the same movement he saw the night before
Instantly a portal opened next to them, and with great momentum, Saber shot out of the portal, causing the sheets that were hanging on the ceiling to fly from the ejection force. Saber took out her sword and plunged it into the surface of the roof to stop.
Instantly, she looked at the sorcerer in front of her, and didn't think twice about attacking. Medea was about to tie the boy up to threaten the Servant but Strange stopped her. He already felt dirty for blackmailing the boy. Doing this will only make it look or feel worse.
"Ok boy, it's up to you now"- the Doctor thought as he put his faith in the boy to stop his Servant.
Lucky for him, the redhead always kept his promises.
-! SABER STOP! - Shirou said as he felt for a few moments how his body had gone numb.
Saber stopped at her master's call. Looking at the boy in disbelief.
- Shirou is our enemy - Saber said looking at his master only to notice the look of insecurity on his face- What have you done?
-It was me- Strange said causing her gaze to intensify. "I blackmailed him into forming a ceasefire contract between us. If he didn't, you'd disappear into that tunnel.
Saber gritted her teeth at this revelation.
-Bastard-shesaid while squeezing the handle of his invisible sword while a memory related to a contract came to his mind
Strange only agreed with that. But there was no time to pursue this topic.
- Look, insult me all you want - he said as he sat on the bench- But can we please have the conversation that I've been wanting to have since the last night.
Shirou only nod listlessly. Although he was surprised by the Doctor's sincerity, despite the fact that revealing that information could have unleashed his Servant 's fury. Saber, for her side, she could only do it in a bad way in the face of his master's stupidity. In only that she and the Doctor agreed, this child did not respect his own life. That was his greatest weakness. Weakness that was exploited by the doctor.
- Ok before this I would like to clarify what has happened these first days of the war, to settle this matter. My servant was responsible for the coma cases and as you know 15 people ended up dead. Yes - the Doctor said while looking at his partner - It was a mistake. But she had nothing to do with the cases that occurred yesterday in the temple and those of today.
-Why should I believe you? - Saber said unconvinced.
Strange was about to speak, but Caster surprisingly spoke this time.
- Because he saved me - Medea said crestfallen and trying to narrate what happened that night in the temple- Who was responsible for the attack on the temple that night was Assassin. I saw my master dismembered by him…. and then he stabbed me.
Strange put his hand on her shoulder to stop her talking. He knew this, to her, was self- inflicted pain.
- I saved her from him and took her to my fortress to save her - he said as he looked at the couple in front of him- He was with me all the time when the attacks occurred during the morning. She is not responsible for recent events.
Shirou could detect that there was truth in their words. But he still wasn't convinced. Either that or they were faking it very well. Saber for her side, she still distrusted the words of both.
- How do you know he didn't do it secretly when he was with you? – she said when she pointed her sword at them- The Caster class has many tricks.
- The building where the attack took place that morning - Strange said to Saber - I know you were there. Archer 's master sure took you there. You felt that something was there, right? Tell me now that you have Caster here. Do you think they both have the same magical energy signature?
Saber looked at Caster and compared it to the traces of magic she sensed from the building the night before. In a bad way he was able to accept that the magic he perceived in that building was much darker than the one in front of him. While Caster seemed to have darkness very similar to his sister Morgan, the magic he sensed from the building was totally different.
It was like …. .was impossible to define. As if everything is wrong in this world. As if the sky were below and the surface above. As if the cold warms and the heat cools. Something…chaotic.
- You already know - the Doctor said looking at Saber's face- Something more than the Holy Grail is happening in this city. And without shame I can say, it terrifies me. I'm sorry about this forced contract, but I don't know what else to do.
Before anyone could say another word. Strange, Saber and Medea felt the same sensation. But this time it was suffocating. At the point that the three began to breathe more agitated. Immediately afterwards, a loud noise was heard coming from the door from which they had climbed. Like two objects colliding, which was followed by several screams of terror and agony coming from the hospital corridor.
- Make it clear to you- Strange said to both of them with the same look- we are here with you
Well that's it. Sorry if Strange came across as too ruthless here. But hey, Strange has his little moments in the MCU. The famous phrase:
"In the grand calculus of the multiverse, their sacrifice means far more than their lives"
Well, I wouldn't call it cruelty, but if he is willing to sacrifice something to save the universe, he will. That doesn't mean he isn't looking for another way.
In the comics he also has some moments, like when he imprisons Brigand in his own mind, threatening to erase his memories, and leaves him there forever. His anger was understandable, but he went a little too far with that punishment.
By the way, about Strange knowing Peter Parker's identity, hear if Stark could find out before, MJ found out during Far From Home, I doubt the Doctor couldn't figure it out.
"But Strange never saw him before"
Me: "Did Tony ever see him since Iron man 2?"
Also, that they both live in New York, I highly doubt he didn't know about their existence before Infinity . War . I know it seems far-fetched or that I made it up. I also know that there will be many people who will not like this decision. Well as Ultron says :
"Everything is possible in a Multiverse "
By the way Shinji Todo , is the actor who played the Japanese Spiderman , the Supaidāman . Or as I know him, the Spiderman who uses a Mecha. He will be back for " Across the Spiderverse ".
I've said it before, but sorry if the Fate characters feel forced.
