As i sensed for my aura i realized it was incredibly bright, and felt like a campfire, it wasn't a strong flame, but it was bright and comforting. I guess i figured out how that Aura Guardian perk works.

It was so easy to find my aura that I was taken by surprise, I thought accessing a super powerful thing like aura would have been harder even with a perk boosting me, regardless I turned my attention back to my aura, I tried to manipulate it in some way, gently flow it around my body and see what happens.

As i felt my aura swell in my chest I got a message from the Game

Aura Manipulation(Lv 1): uses mana to manipulate the aura within oneself for a variety of buffs and boosts! (cost: varies)! Passively increase physical stats by 1% per level (rounded down)!

I tried to force my aura to exit my body, like how Lucario did in the "'super smash bros" games, it should be the first step in making objects out of aura like lucario's Bone Rush in the anime, as a burst of a small blue flame came to life in my hands I gained another powerful skill!

Awesome! This skill is so versatile its almost insane, object creation is tied with telekinesis for imagination based powers! A shield and a sword at the same time, a gun, a grapple hook, a glider. I can have it all at the cost of some mana and level grinding! Absol is gonna flip when she sees this haha.

As I raise my head up from staring at my hands i notice that Absol is already fast asleep.

"ah i guess i should hit the hay right?" I mumble as I lay down in my sleeping bag.

I woke up with an odd weight on my chest, looking down I saw Absol decided id make a better bed than the ground, "wake up sleepyhead, we gotta keep truckin to the next town."

Absol groggily raised her head from my chest with a mumbled "sol?" before she realized I was staring at her and leapt to her feet, head raised almost haughtily, as if the notion that she used me as a pillow was an insult.

I stood and deposited the sleeping bag into my inventory, and started to walk back towards the path we were taking, a spring in my step as i recalled my two new skills.

"Hey Absol, I've got something to show you girl." as Absol turned to look at me i held up my hands and willed my aura into a simple bar shape for 13 mana, "I figured out how to use my aura, pretty sweet huh?"

Absol stared at the aura bar with a look of surprise and confusion, "How?"

Now it was my turn to be flabbergasted. "I just understood you?! HOW?!"

"Maybe it has to do with you using your aura?" Absol pondered.

"I mean that seems like the most likely option, but its still insane! I mean I can speak with pokemon now, that's incredibly useful! Now that i think about it, do you want a name? It feels weird to call you just Absol now that we can actually understand each other."

"I don't really care for a name, but if you want to I'll let you name me."

I put my hand to my chin in a classic thinker pose as i thought of a name for Absol. Anything shadow related was a bit to edgy, anything similar to the root words of absol was a bit cliche, hmm...

"I've got it! How about Dusk?"

"That name is acceptable."

"Sweet! I'm Aurelius by the way, I don't think I've ever actually introduced myself." an embarrassed chuckle escapes me,

We walked for what felt like another hour or so, as we continued down the path i noticed it got noticeably colder, then i saw it; the town we were travelling to was a large city resting on a large hillside, ice and snow cover the city like a frozen blanket, it was honestly a breathtaking view with how the ice and snow reflected the light.

I saw a sign "Snowbelle City" and realized where i was. I was in the Kalos region, from pokemon X and Y, a pretty neat game that introduced fairy types, and I'm currently in Snowbelle, the town with the 8th gym, specializing in ice types.

Dusk and I made our way to a building with a red and glass roof, a symbol of a pokeball stood above the red cylindrical door, as we went to enter the Pokecenter the door automatically slid open.

Inside the pokecenter there was a red desk with a device with multiple spaces fit for a pokeball, and a doorway leading into the backrooms of the center seemingly for medical issues the healing machine couldn't fix. A woman with pink hair done into loops, pale skin, blue eyes, and a nurses outfit stood behind the desk and seemed to be filing some paperwork, it was a Nurse Joy; a family of mostly women that always seem to take up the role of a pokemon nurse.

She looked up from her paperwork and greeted us with a customer service smile, "Hello, and welcome to the Pokemon Center, how can I help you?"

"I've got a couple questions, how do I register as a pokemon trainer? And sign up for the Kalos gym league."

"Registering as a pokemon trainer requires you to take a standardized test to make sure you know how to train and care for a pokemon, you need to pay 500 Pk both to take the test and get a Trainers license. The trainers license lets you participate in the gym challenge at no additional costs, would you like me to set up your test?"

"yeah that would be great, thank you!" I reach into my rear pocket and draw out 500 pokedollars from my Inventory before handing it over to Nurse Joy.

"Your test should be ready in roughly an hour, feel free to wait in the main lobby if you wish."

Dusk and I decided to sit down at a bench nearest the front door, Dusk laying at my feet as I tried my best to remember everything I know about taking care of pokemon.

Authors note: Howdy! Ive never done one of these before but I'll try and keep it quick.

Sorry about how long this chapter took to come out, just didn't feel it you know? I also swapped around some details that never got fully revealed (i was originally planning on starting out on route 8 rather than the Winding Woods before the hidden village but changed my mind because of the whole mountain and cliff side blocking the north route)

I'm hoping everyone enjoys the story so far, and I'm doing my best to try and extend the length of the chapters, and fix my grammar, and other writing things i don't fully have down yet.

This is my first story I've ever written so im giving it my all, i hope i can make chapters without multiple weeks between them
