In the year 2185, humanity lives in a golden era of interstellar travel. Our discovery of ancient alien ruins on Mars in 2148 propelled our understanding of science and technology ahead by thousands of years, enabling travel to the furthest stars. The basis for this incredible technology is a force that controlled the very fabric of space and time - it is called the greatest discovery in human history.
While many now enjoy the newfound freedom and challenges of exploration in the Milky Way, others look to even more distant stars…
Congratulations on your successful acceptance into the Andromeda Initiative! This journey is a major milestone for all of humanity, as well as every other species in the Milky Way Galaxy.
We are about to embark on a voyage unlike anything attempted before. Make no mistake: this is a one-way trip. Six hundred years from now, we will awaken from cryostasis on the outskirts of the Andromeda Galaxy.
Most of us will travel onboard the Nexus to Andromeda. In addition to the Nexus, four Arks, each harbouring a separate species, will depart the Milky Way at the same time, with each Ark having an assigned Pathfinder - a blend of elite soldier, scientist and guide, who will be tasked with finding a new home on one of the Golden Worlds that our long-range sensors have identified within Andromeda's Heleus Cluster.
You represent some of the best that the Milky Way has to offer, and again, I salute your bravery in accepting this mission. There are no guarantees, no certainties. But if successful, we have a chance to do the impossible, and create a new future for us all.
