Wakako is a patient woman.
In this world of corporate dominance, gang wars, and where the supernatural has become the new norm, Wakoko not only survived but thrived.
While she mourns for her five husbands, she still has to take care of her nine children: despite being high-ranking members of Tyger Claws, they act like petulant children in the same vein as a Corpo-child act when denied their fun. That's why instead of peacefully retiring her day away, she still had to act decisive: especially in the ever-shifting nature of Night City. Both for herself and her family.
That is why she remains as Tyger Claws' premier fixer. Though, for all their pretenses of being the representative of the Asian community, the Tyger Claws borders that of Scavs or Maelstroms in terms of attitude.
She could only shake her head when she'd hear on the radio of Tyger Claws rampaging throughout Night City and conducting depraved acts. It always disappoints her that the recent iteration of the Tyger Claws had lost their fundamental belief: that of protecting the Asian community of Night City.
Despite that, Tyger Claws remains one of Night City's premier gangs. If anything, Tyger Claws have only become more powerful thanks to the re-arrival of Arasaka into Night City, and combined with their re-establishment at Corpo Plaza and her eldest son's fascination with the megacorp, Wakako remains. And if fate dictates it, she might remain connected to the gang: with her service only ending until her death.
Though, that sentiment has changed during these past five years. And to think that it started with a boy - for as much as the man says his age, the man certainly doesn't act his age - that has a dream.
She could only laugh in remembrance of when she first met the Edgerunner-turned-leader of the Builders.
Despite the boy looking like he had come straight from the early 20th century and certainly acting like it, that quickly changed when for the past five years, the boy made a name for himself as an efficient Edgerunner despite having no modifications on himself whatsoever.
From then on, the boy's reputation only grew wider. Completing numerous gigs with such proficiency, despite having no chromes attached to the boy's body, was impressive. The fact that he's professional with his work only endeared him to the numerous fixers that littered the city.
Then the gonk indirectly created a gang of his own.
While Night City's gangs laughed at the competition - with Maelstroms and Scavs gleefully waiting for the 'eventual' collapse of the newly created group that coalesced at Megabuilding H10 - they stopped laughing when they found themselves losing control of the streets surrounding the megabuilding. Scavs, in particular, was most affected by the Builders' actions as the boy waged a personal war against the group, slowly eroding their influence in Watson and causing them to hide amongst Night City's numerous trash heaps.
Good riddance. The Scavs are cancer to Night City.
With the group reportedly only having one hundred members left, the Builders quickly moved to fill the gap left behind by the Scavs and became a second home to the Builders. Her fellow Tyger Claw members tried to take advantage of Maelstrom's collapse, though that resulted in turning the boy's rage at them: killing numerous Tyger Claws, with reports of the boy flying around the battlefield like a banshee of the night.
In the end, the higher-ups within the Tyger Claws saw reason and decided to pull back their forces to Little China, finally allowing the Builders to create a foothold on NID. Now, Maelstrom has competition for the NID in the form of the Builders, with Maelstrom actively avoiding any contact with a Builder.
And to think that the only reason they stopped attempting to take the NID is that they lost a lot of eddies was pathetic.
Nevertheless, the newly-established Builders certainly made a splash giving life to the poorest district of Night City. The abandoned warehouses on NID were legally bought by the man beloved by the fixers of NC, turning warehouses into farms. Fresh, organic crops such as beetroot, carrot, potato, and wheat exploded into NC's markets at a very affordable price.
While Wakako wondered where the boy got his soil, as soils are very expensive, especially in a continent ravaged by climate disasters, and seeds to crop such products, she stopped wondering, especially when the boy gifted a month's worth of fresh food for the gigs that she'd given him.
The newly founded Builders Incorporated utilized their new-found success to turn NID once more into a bustling industrial hub. While Arasaka still dominates Watson in terms of how much land they own, it was the Builders that the people of NID turned towards for legitimate work. Those who have experience when it comes to farming became teachers to the people that were looking to work in the Builder's newly refurbished warehouses.
The beautiful part of the boy's success is that he made the technology and process of creating an indoor farm available to the public. This move also ensured locals the business opportunities willing to open their indoor farms by leasing the abandoned warehouse he bought for an affordable price. Of course, Biotechnica was interested in the technology that the boy made and is already making moves to patent said technology. Though, from what she'd heard from her contacts in Arasaka, the biotech company is facing massive pushback: both from the private and public sectors.
She could only shake her head at the greediness of corporations. Thankfully, it seems both megacorps and the people are united in maintaining the boy's work as public work.
For her, it was already a sign that the boy had successfully etched his name into the streets of Night City despite being in the city for about five years.
In any case, it was because of the boy's successes that she approached him with an offer. One that'll affect her and her family's future moving forward.
To take Tyger Claws for her own.
Fortunately for her, it seems that her deal with the unstoppable force of nature that is the boy was made true. For the past two weeks, the boy had gutted most of the Tyger Claws' operations in Little China and Kabuki, leaving those that her sons control alone. Of course, many within the Tyger Claws were suspicious that the boy had not targeted her nor her sons' business and activities, but thankfully for her, they were more focused on staying alive rather than connecting the dots that Wakako may have orchestrated their demise.
At the end of the boy's war against her former compatriots, 1/5 of the Tyger Claws remained: almost all of them swearing loyalty to her and her sons. Those who didn't swear their allegiance to her fled the city or joined other gangs. And that was probably for the best.
When the boy entered her pachinko shop, his miner's helmet contrasting the suit he was wearing, Wakako could only nod before gesturing for him to take a seat.
As the two basked in the silence of her office, Wakako nodded before sending the boy files he needed to secure the buildings previously owned by her former Tyger Claws compatriots.
"I trust our deal is to be upheld?" The boy nodded.
"Yes. You'll have Westbrook while I have Watson." Taking a drink, the boy continued, "In exchange for our alliance, you shall parlay with the Mox before treading on each other's toes."
Wakako nodded curtly before giving the boy a shooing motion. Seeing that, the boy grinned and bowed in thanks before leaving her pachinko office.
Looking at her desk, she noticed the boy had left her a gold bar. Pure gold, by the looks of it.
Wakako scoffed before contacting her sons. With the Tyger Claws at her hands, some restructuring is to be done to ensure its survival.
She could only hope that her sons could implement the beliefs that the new Tyger Claws will have.
