Simple Wounded Heart, It Always Longs For You

A/N: A short Yohna one-shot, and it is about Anna after Yoh's early death…I know, how original, however I kind of like it…kind of…yes, I know I am a crappy substandard authoress, but I really want to get better at this! So here it is, Yohna fans, Simple Wounded Heart It Always Longs For You!

Disclaimer: I do not own Yoh or Anna from Shaman King, I do not own anything…I don't even own good writing skills! -;

Anna tossed her golden-brown hair back over her tan shoulders, her crimson bandana rippling in the winds.

The majesty of the changing seasons, when the harshly beautiful queen of winter set upon the throne of the waning, flowing, graceful autumn.

Autumn had always been the most sorrowful time of the year for Anna. It was when the signs of winter were creeping upon the earth slowly, when the leaves fell dead off the trees, and the feeling that she would not see green for a long time sank into her.

But worst and most agonizing of all was the memory of his death…The memory of Yoh's death by an illness that had eaten him from the inside out and caused her precious creature to fade away so slowly.

Yoh had never done anything on time in his life…He was always procrastinating until the very last minute, but he had never let life pass him by…he had always seemed to be so on top of things but so below them at the same time, like a living paradox whom she had come to love so. He had followed the path he had embarked down before his birth.

The illness was the same as he…he lingered and suffered long into the many nights leading up to his final, bittersweet demise…and while this creature depleted in physical immunity, he increased in the power of the mind, and he had grown even more dear to her during his last months of life….his pallor, pathetic, helpless expression, and glazed eyes all foretold a sickly end to her beloved Shaman King.

When he died, she abhorred the fact that she could not shed but even a tear for her love…she was like a ball of cotton, buried in layers of metal and hidden deep under the sea…something you could stick a pin deep into, and eight weeks later, it says "ouch."

And as much as she hated it now, the Ice Queen whom had melted was now fading back, the same queen who had melted at the end of the Shaman Fight and left behind the quivering mass of emotions called Anna, was now hardening over her like an unbreakable shell.

The reason for the breaking of that shell long ago had disappeared from her world, and what reason did she have now to remain the weakly emotional girl she had been for as long as she would like to remember?

The locket that held his last smiling picture, his sleek black hair blowing in the summer breeze, was one of the many things that she held near to her heart, the things that triggered sweet remembrances of days gone by…

Tears glistened onto the picture as Anna clasped her hands over it.

"Heh…simple wounded heart…it will always long for you, Yoh…."
