It wasn't until the setting of the sun that Kaidoh Kaoru decided to call it quits for the day. Slinging a towel fairly drenched towel over his shoulders he headed home.
A twig snapped to his left, and peering through some bushes he saw a cat. Kaidoh looked over his shoulders as he sat on the ground. He grabbed a fallen twig and waved it back and forth.
"Here kitty kitty. Come here."
The cat stared at the hand in front of him. Watching it move left, right, left, right, and back agian. Without a second thought, the cat leaped.

"Karupin! Oi, Karupin!"
Echizen Ryoma was having a very bad day. First, the batteries in his alarm clock decided to die, making him late for school, nevermind morning practice. Even worse was when his father, of all people, decided it was his duty to wake Ryoma up. All the while making lewd commets about his sleeping habits as he rushed to get to school.
Upon arriving at school Horio, amazingly enough, prooved that he could get more annoying... and then... well, Echizen didn't want to relive that moment. And finally, Karupin had run off. Again.
It wasn't until he heard a familiar "Mrreeow" did he smile for the first time that day. Walking around a patch of bushes Echizen stopped in shock.
There was Kaidoh bent over on all fours, wiggling--wiggling of all things!--and making odd noises at Karupin. After getting over the shock of the older boy... wiggling Echizen decided to make his presence known.
"Kaidoh-sempai, what are you doing to Karupin?"
"What? E... Echizen?"
"Ehhh, are you blushing, Kaidoh-sempai?"
"N..no! I was just! I!"
While tilting his head and tugging his hat lower in a futile attempt to hide his smirk, Echizen drawled, "Mada mada dane... I wonder if Inui-sempai knows..."
"O...oi, Echizen. You better not tell anyone."
Moving closer the younger boy smirked. "Only if you... do me a favour." A few more steps and he would be violating the other's personal space. Unfortunately, Karupin, feeling neglected during this exchange, unsheathed his claws.
"ARRRGH!!!!"

Pulling the damp towel off of his head, Echizen could see Kaidoh sprawled on the ground hugging his scratched up leg.
With a grimace Echizen threw the towel towards it's rightful owner and picked up Karupin. This couldn't be very hygienic. He needed a bath.
'Yes,' he thought. 'today was a very bad day.'
