Ritual
He does it every night before going to work. Catherine smiles at him every time and encourages him to hurry so he won't be late.
"Warrick, she's going to sleep," she said, running a hand through his hair. "Go to work honey."
He doesn't want to though. He just wants to listen to his baby girl rolling around comfortably in her mother's womb. He feels a kick from her on his hand and he hears her roll to the other side of Catherine's swollen belly, obviously sensing that something was disturbing her late night acrobatics.
Warrick's been doing this every night ever since he heard the baby's heartbeat on the sonogram four months ago. Now at six months along, he lays his head on his lover's tummy and just listens to their child play around.
He doesn't want to go to work, he doesn't want to miss a moment.
When they first found out that they were having a baby, they were nothing short of shocked.
Then, after the second test and the glow on Catherine's face, they realized that it was a miracle that she even conceived again. He thanked Catherine for the baby, and cherished their child.
Catherine notices the time, and she wants to tell him to go, but she decides not to. She doesn't want the ritual between father and daughter to end.
