Present Day...

Monica was glad to be alone. It was only nine thirty but she was tired and was happy to be thinking about going to bed. She walked past Anna's bedroom and looked in on her as she still slept peacefully. As she was about to close her door she noticed that her doll was on the floor, the one that John had bought for her.

She walked inside and picked it up. She held it close to her before slipping it in bed beside Anna. As she turned to walk out again there was movement from Anna's bed.

"Mommy..."

"I'm here baby, are you ok?"

Anna nodded her head as Monica sat on the bed beside her and stroked her hair.

"Are you mad at me mommy?"

"No, of course not. I'm just glad that you're ok."

"But I made you cry again. I saw you."

"People cry when they're upset and worried, mommy was worried that you might be more hurt than you were, do you understand what I'm saying?"

Anna nodded her head again.

"Have granma and granpa Doggett gone home?"

"Not yet, they're coming to say bye tomorrow morning."

"And then it's just us?"

"Just us."

Anna smiled and Monica had never seen a more beautiful smile. Anna hadn't smiled for

so long, it was a gift for her to manage it now, and for the cause of it to be knowing Monica and she were finally going to be alone.

"Get some sleep baby, I'll see you in the morning." Monica stood up and kissed Anna before walking to the door.

"Mommy?"

"Yeah?"

"He might come back."

"Who?"

"Daddy. He'll be missing us. They wont be able to keep him away. It'll be ok when he comes home."

Monica smiled at Anna and turned out of the room not having a single word in the entire

language to tell Anna her father wouldn't be coming back, not ever.
