"Hi," she whispered through watering eyes as she opened the door.

"Hi," he said gently. Kindly.

He was so kind these days.

She stepped aside to let him in, and he smiled small, looking around her decorated apartment that still had freshly opened presents strewn under the tree.

"Been a crazy few days," she sighed, sipping her wine.

"So you said," he nodded, setting down the fresh bottle he'd picked up.

Olivia Benson had become too good for beer.

No- Olivia Benson realized she always had been too good for beer.

Turning to face her, he smiled small. "I'm gonna give you a hug," he said gently and she nodded, letting the tears flow as he pulled her tight to his chest, their bodies pressing flush to one another.

"It was a good shot," he whispered and she nodded, melting into his embrace.

"It was a good shot," he repeated, "and you saved countless people."

"Thank you," she whispered into his chest, pressing a soft kiss there. He smiled at the feel of her lips and gave her a squeeze and a kiss on the top of her head.

Noah cleared his throat from the hallway and pair turned to smile at him.

"What are you doing up?" She asked, wiping her eyes.

"You didn't tell me El was coming over," he whined playfully through a yawn.

The pair had become the best of friends, fast and it still shocked her every time "El" escaped her 8 year old's mouth.

Walking away slowly from her, with a hand trailing her back, he scooped Noah up into a bear hug. "You should be asleep, my man."

Noah returned the embrace like they'd know each other forever. "Heard you," he muttered sleepily. "And worried about mom."

"You don't need to worry about mom," he said, spinning them to look in Liv's direction. "I got her tonight- take the night off and get some sleep okay?"

"Okay El," he smiled small, giving him a squeeze before waving to his mom and retreating to his room.

Liv came up behind him and gently leaned into his back. "I love how much he loves you…" she trailed off as he turned.

"Love him just as much, if not more."

She gave a sad smile and he nodded towards her room. "Come on. What can I do for you," he whispered as they walked together, deeper into the apartment.

She sighed softly. "Make me forget," she said, laying back on her pillows.

"Now that," he said, laying beside her, and pressing a soft kiss to her temple, then her cheek, then the corner of her mouth, "I can do."
