The Time for Trust

Chapter 1: Hurts So Good

Ginny Weasley cried out in pain. A puddle of blood was forming on her wrist. The blood dripped over her fingers. The scissors dropped. She fell; fell onto the floor, the blood coming from her delicate flesh dripping silently onto the cream colored carpet.

"Oh my God!" she cried again, her eyes closing. She drew in breath, savoring it. Over and over again, she let warm air out of her mouth, until she stopped breathing hard and could feel her body again. A knock came upon the door.

"Just a second!" Ginny called, wiping up her arm and the floor, leaving red smudges where her bloody arm had been. She opened the door. Ron Weasley stood there, still in his pajamas, Hermione by his side. They had been married for four years now, and had been at Ginny's wedding when she had married Harry Potter. And they had also been at Harry's funeral after he had committed suicide.

"Gin? What's wrong, baby?" Hermione asked her sister-in-law, running to her and grabbing her. Ginny felt a tear on her cheek.

"I heard you scream. I wanted to check on you." Hermione let go of Ginny, then sat her on the bed and stroked her cheek. Ron sighed and walked away, now holding Crookshanks, Ginny's cat.

"Hermione, I'm still depressed. I miss Harry. Why did he leave me?" Ginny shrieked.

"Oh, Ginny, don't worry, you will see Harry again some day. He lives in your heart, and he'll never leave you."

Ginny began to sob violently. Hermione grabbed her and held her steady. "Ginny! Ginny, what's wrong?" she asked her, holding Ginny around her waist, trying to keep her from falling off of the bed.

"Hermione, can I show you something? And if I do, will you not tell Ron?" Ginny asked soberly.

Hermione nodded politely, letting go of the redhead's waist, looking into bright blue, twinkling eyes. Ginny rolled up her sleeve. Hermione screamed, and then began to cry.

"Ginny, why did you do this to yourself? How long have you been doing it?" Hermione cried, wiping her eyes, smudging her mascara.

"Two months, since Harry…died."

"But Ginny…why do you?"

Ginny sighed, looking at her arm. "Hermione…I don't know…I guess...I guess it just hurts so good."
