Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Well, I apologize if the wait for this chapter took a bit of time, but I have a new laptop and it's proven to help me with writing, and playing World of Warcraft. I'm certain some of you watched the one-shot special that I did some time ago, and I'm glad to see that it was liked. I've been keeping up with Pokémon Journeys and have seen Ash's battle against Leon. I'm incredibly proud of Ash for winning against the undefeated champion, he's grown so much. I still hope that he remains as the main character and travels through Violet and Scarlet.

Speaking of Violet and Scarlet, soon it'll be out for us to play. I'm getting Violet, and intend to start off with Fuecoco. Getting a bit off topic, sorry about that. Anyway, about time I answer some reviews.

Beyblade and pokemon bro: I intend to do that specific movie.

Pearl shipper: The whole thing with Dawn will honestly take more than just a single chapter.

Tony Anderson: I am glad to hear that.

Pearl shipper: Dawn will appear in the Sinnoh journey.

Pokemon fan: Ash's first contest will be the same in the anime, I already have something in mind for Verity's contest outfit. Finally, for the Mirage episode, I'll think about it. And about your idea of doing a one-shot special of Ash's battle against Leon, I don't feel the drive, or the time to do it, sorry. You're gonna have someone else to do it.

The reviews have been low lately, but I'm not complaining. For December, I intend to do Ash's fourth Gym Battle before the year ends, but next year I'll be focusing on my Date a Live story. I'll tell you guys this, next chapter is one I've been wanting to do for some time now as I've got huge plans for it. But for now, enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 25: Come What May!

The skies were clear without a single cloud in sight, a sign of a clear day. Not just that, the sun was high up above Fallarbor Town for this long-awaited day; the day of the Fallarbor Pokémon Contest. People of Fallarbor Town all came towards the Contest hall to enter and watch the contest take place. The big screen on the front top of the building displayed the words "Pokémon Contest", a sign that the big event was finally taking place.

Inside of the building, the Contest was just about to go underway. Inside was a hexagonal shaped stage with the Poké Ball symbol in the center of the floor. It had a free-standing wall at the back with an upside dome shaped blue screen. The stage was surrounded by a wrap-around seated area, separated into 4 aisles with a walkway in between them. The aisles were filled with the people of Fallarbor Town as they watched the Contest take place.

Meanwhile, the stage was filled with the Pokémon Coordinators that had entered the Contest for today. There were male and female Pokémon Coordinators, all wearing different kinds of dresses and suits. Among them were May, Grace, Drew and even Jessie under a fake name of "Empress Jessibella", all wearing different outfits for the Contest as well.

May was wearing her new princess outfit that she purchased recently. She currently had her hands folded together in front of her lap and was silently staring down at the ground with a slightly embarrassed face. The Petalburg girl was a bit embarrassed at having to wear an outfit such as her new one out in public and in view of so many spectators.

Drew was wearing a lightly fitted collared dark-green V-neck shirt that played well with the lightly green tights that he was wearing. For footwear, he had light brown slip-ons and a green hat on with a red feather attached to it. The green haired male was grinning with pure confidence on his face as he waited for the Contest to begin.

Grace was wearing an Egyptian outfit with her hair free of its pigtails style. She had a long, sleeveless white shift dress with a round collar with golden red edging and a matching sash and white sandals. On her wrists were matching cuffs to the belt with a long red sheer cape attached to the cuffs and a gold headband. Her normal earrings were replaced by golden Egyptian earrings now as well. Grace was shifting a little due to the outfit she was wearing as she's never worn anything like this before.

Jessibella (Jessie), was wearing a long, red sleeveless dress with red heels, white long gloves that reach past her elbows and a yellow butterfly mask and hairband. The disguised Team Rocket member had her arms crossed and an eager grin on her face as she awaited the Pokémon Contest to begin. But for some reason, her long hair was now short.

In the crowds of people sitting down in the stands were Ash, Verity, Brock and Max with Pikachu, Piplup and Jirachi seated on the laps of their trainers. All of them had eager smiles on their faces for the Contest to begin. "It's about to start". Brock stated with his arms crossed, getting a nod from Verity at what he said. "About time". The tomboyish girl remarked with a grin on her face, one that Piplup mimicked perfectly.

"Hey, I see Grace". Max told his friends as he pointed towards the red-haired girl among the Pokémon Coordinators gathered together. 'I've never seen an outfit like that before'. Jirachi commented, staring at Grace's outfit in innocent curiosity as he's never seen clothes like that before. "Drew's there too, looking as confident as always'. Ash remarked, noticing the green haired male among the Coordinators as well.

"And there's our girl right there". Verity said as she pointed towards May with her right hand, getting Ash, Brock, Max, Piplup, Pikachu and Jirachi to look towards where she was pointing and saw the nervous looking brunette. "Why does she look nervous?" Max asked in slight confusion as he saw no reason why she should be nervous. "It's probably the outfit she's wearing". Verity answered with a shrug of her shoulders, assuming that May was still nervous about wearing the dress that was a bit revealing.

Ash was silent as he stared at May, honestly still breathless at seeing her looking so beautiful in that outfit. He was only snapped out of his trance by Brock asking him something. "Ash, are you sure Sorrel won't be joining us in watching the contest?" The former Gym Leader asked his traveling companion, getting the Rainbow Hero to turn his head to look at him. Sorrel and Lucario weren't among them as they had set out this morning back to the forest on the way to Meteor Falls to train Sorrel's Aerodactyl in Mega Evolution and his new Bagon a bit.

"He won't be here for most of it, but I'm certain he'll come around sooner or later". The Rainbow Hero answered his old friend, before turning to look back at the stage. "For now, let's just sit back and enjoy". Ash added with a carefree smile on his face. "Pika-pika!" Pikachu called out in agreement from his best friend's lap, wanting to just sit back and enjoy the show as well. Brock raised an eyebrow, but remained silent as he returned to watching the stage as well.

Meanwhile with May, the brunette still had a nervous expression on her face. She looked down at the outfit she was wearing, then towards all the people watching. 'I can't believe I'm actually wearing something like this in front of lots of people'. May said inside of her mind in embarrassment, wishing that she could go back to wearing her normal outfit during Contests just like back in Slateport City.

She looked through the corner of her left eye towards Grace and saw no hint of embarrassment on her whatsoever. May felt her nerves calm slightly at the sight of the older brunette looking so confident despite the outfit she was wearing. 'Grace isn't bothered in the slightest, so I shouldn't either. This isn't a fashion show; it's a Pokémon Contest where both Coordinators and Pokémon are the stars'. The Petalburg girl thought as she straightened her posture and grew a small, confident smile on her face, ready for the show to get started.

Unknown to May was that Drew had been staring at her a little bit. He had caught sight of her looking nervous, but knew that it wasn't because of the Contest. He had caught her staring at her dress a few times and realized that was the reason why she seemed to embarrass. He wasn't bothered by the rule of dressing up, so it had no effect on him at all.

Drew grew a small grin at seeing his rival regain her confidence. He flicked his hair a bit, before looking forward towards the people of Fallarbor Town watching the Contest about to begin.

(Meanwhile, outside of Fallarbor Town)

As the Pokémon Contest began to take place, the training of a certain Veilstone boy and his Pokémon was taking place. Deep in the forest between the town and Meteor Falls, Sorrel and Lucario stood side by side with Aerodactyl and Bagon in front of them, surrounded by wild Pokémon. There were groups of two of Zangoose, Lombre, Seviper, Misdreavus and Skorupi surrounding the four on all sides with no room for escape.

Yesterday after they had returned to the Pokémon Center from Meteor Falls, Sorrel had immediately gone to the Pokémon Transporter to make room for his new Bagon. He transported Entei away, making room for his new Dragon Type. And earlier this morning, he had left the center with his Pokémon to train his new addition and Aerodactyl with its new Mega Stone. He did tell his sworn brother Ash of his plans so that his absence wouldn't concern his friends.

Not much time had passed since Sorrel and Lucario had set out to begin their training, and they had already found some opponents for their training. The dark green haired male turned his head left and right to look around at the wild Pokémon surrounding him and his Pokémon. "Not even half an hour has passed, and we've already found some good opponents". The Veilstone boy remarked, getting Lucario to look at his trainer. "Rrraaa ra?" The Aura Pokémon questioned the 12-year-old boy, catching Sorrel's attention as he looked at Lucario and shook his head.

"No, there isn't a need for you to battle. Leave this to Aerodactyl and Bagon". Sorrel replied to the Fighting and Steel type, before facing forward to look at the backs of Bagon and Aerodactyl. The Dragon type was standing bravely with narrowed eyes, while the Fossil Pokémon was standing on its talons with its wings and claws up, ready to take flight at any moment.

"You guys ready to train?" The dark green haired male asked the two, getting Bagon and Aerodactyl to look over their shoulders towards him and nod. "Bagon! /Rrraaa!" The Fossil and Rock Head Pokémon cried out in response, before Aerodactyl began flapping its wings and lifted itself off the ground and into the air. Sorrel smirked in response at their answer. "That's great to hear". The Pokémon Professor in training stated, before he slowly began to lift his right hand up.

(Play Pokemon 2019 OST: Satoshi and Go)

He held his right hand up in front of himself. He brought up his left hand up and pulled the sleeve of the green shirt back to reveal a silver metal wristband with a Key Stone attached to it on his wrist. Sorrel light taped the Key Stone with his left hand's index finger, causing it to let out a powerful burst of energy and rainbow flash, followed by four streams of energy shooting out.

"Aerodactyl… Mega Evolve!" The Veilstone boy shouted out to the heavens as he reared his right fist down, before thrusting it into the air. Aerodactyl flew down in front of its trainer, before unleashing a powerful howl as the Aerodactylite flew down out of nowhere in front of the Fossil Pokémon and floated in front of it, lightly glowing a purple colour. The Mega Stone released a flash of energy, before four light blue streams of energy came out.

The eight streams of energy connected with each other, as if connecting Sorrel and Aerodactyl with one another with the Fossil Pokémon's body glowing a bright pink colour as it Mega Evolved. First, Aerodactyl grew larger than before with jagged spikes appearing over its body. Plates of somekind then formed on Aerodactyl's eyebrows and corner of its jaw as well.

Soon, the streams of energy disappeared with the now Mega Evolved Aerodactyl's body losing the bright glow covering its body, revealing the new appearance of the Fossil Pokémon. Mega Aerodactyl was larger than before, its eyes had turned bright green and parts of its body had changed to stone. It had sprouted jagged black spiky rocks all over its body: five spikes at the wrist joint of each wing replacing its hands, three small spikes along the tail, one spike on each ear, and a long spike on its chin. The spike on its back and its rear talons had also become black and stony. Rocky plates covered its eyebrows and the corners of its jaw. Similar stone ornaments are present on its chest and on its torso: two small ridges flanking a longer ridge.

Mega Aerodactyl released an even more powerful howl than before, letting out strong gusts of wind as the Mega Evolution symbol briefly appeared in front of it in rainbow flames, before disappearing. The wild Pokémon all widened their eyes and backed away from the sight of the Mega Evolved Fossil Pokémon before them.

Bagon cried out in joy for Aerodactyl, while Lucario grinned at the Fossil Pokémon. Sorrel just smirked as he pulled his shirt's sleeve up, covering the metal wristband once more. "With that in order, let the training begin!" The Veilstone boy called out, thrusting his right hand out towards his Pokémon as Bagon took off charging, while Mega Aerodactly flew forward towards the wild Pokémon.

The training of Bagon and Mega Aerodactyl had begun, right at the same time that the Fallarbor Town Pokémon Contest began.

(Music end/ Play Pokémon Journeys opening: 1, 2, 3, version 2)

With a green background, three mirrors appeared, one vertical with a rainbow background, the second with a blue background and the third had a green. All three mirrors were showing three familiar pairs of legs of three certain trainers. These windows then closed before opening again, this time showing Ash, Verity and Sorrel all running with eager looks. Ash was running forward, Verity was running right and Sorrel left. The mirrors all closed and disappeared to reveal the title "Pokémon Legend of the Rainbow Hero" in colorless letters, before the Rainbow Wing fell past it, changing the letters all into a rainbow color.

'Hey, you still not ready? C'mon, hurry up!'

The three old friends were standing in a triangle position with their backs towards each other with different coloured grounds below them. Ash's ground was a rainbow colour, Verity's an electric blue and Sorrel's a green color. Ash put his cap on his head with a grin, before adjusting his backpack. Pikachu and Espeon then appeared, jumping onto his shoulders, much to the Rainbow Hero's joy.

'You all packed and ready to leave?'

Verity knelt down for a moment, before she stood up to reveal that she was holding Piplup in her arms with the two partners smiling happily at one another.

Sorrel and Lucario were standing right besides each other with the two looking through Sorrel's notebook that he was holding with his right hand. The two partners looked at each other and smiled.

'I'll show you this wide mysterious world'

Ash, Verity, Sorrel, Pikachu, Espeon, Piplup and Lucario were all gathered together, talking to one another happily. It changed to show Sorrel adjusting his right shoe with Lucario stretching his paws out next to his trainer, while Verity had her arms wrapped around her boyfriend's right hand as she gave him a peck on the cheek, resulting in Ash's face turning flushed with Pikachu, Espeon and Piplup laughing in front of them. It then changed to show Ash and Sorrel standing in front of one another, giving a fist up to each other, before Verity appeared from below and wrapped her arms around her two old friends' shoulders, bringing them into a group hug with her eyes closed happily and the two males smiling.

'And skip the slow send-off'.

Ash, Verity and Sorrel then ran out of a Pokémon Center into the outside world. Inside the Pokémon Center, Brock watched them ran out from a bench next to a window, Max and Jirachi were playing together, before they turned to look out the door. May was handing in her Poké Balls to Nurse Joy, before she turned around and gave a warm smile.

'Be it through fire or through water'.

'I'm fumbling blindly through the days'.

'When I don't even know what the next second will bring'.

Ash, Verity and Sorrel were all standing in front of a computer screen as it showed pictures of the legendary trio of Kanto, Moltres, Zapdos and Articuno in three separate pictures with the background showing a map of the Kanto Region. The screen then changed to show Lugia and Ho-Oh in two separate pictures with the background showing a map of the Johto Region.

The computer screen changed to show three separate pictures of Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza with a map of the Hoenn Region as the background. The screen changed to show a single picture of Dialga, Palkia and Giratina together with a map of the Sinnoh Region as the background. It changed once more to show a single picture of Zekrom and Reshiram flying around each other with Kyurem in the center with a map of the Unova Region as the background.

The computer screen changed to show two separate pictures of Xerneas and Yveltal with a map of the Kalos Region as the background. The screen then changed once more to show two separate pictures of Solgaleo and Lunala with a map of the Alola Region as the background. Finally, it changed to show a single picture of Zacian (Crowned Sword) and Zamazenta (Crowned Shield) in front of their shrine in the Slumbering Weald.

Ash, Verity and Sorrel were looking over a folding map, before Ash turned excitedly to Sorrel and said something to him, getting him and Verity to turn their attention to him with the Pokémon Coordinator telling her boyfriend something. Pikachu, Espeon, Piplup and Lucario all sat down besides one another and snacked on some cookies gathered around their trainers.

'Each and everyone one of my memories'.

Ash's left rainbow colored eye showed the brightly flashing Rainbow Wing, before the screen zoomed out to show the Rainbow Hero in his transformed state, falling towards a bright light when Ho-Oh came by and flew around with the camera spinning around as well. Ho-Oh flew off as Ash did a flip and pulled out a Master Ball with his left hand. It gleamed with psychic energy, before it burst open with a white beam coming out.

'Can always be found inside a Ball'.

The white beam cleared to reveal Latios flying in the sky with Marshadow on his back, before Latias joined him from the right, now flying besides her brother with the sky above them filled with dark clouds. The two Eon Dragons then flew faster and out of view

A Poké Ball hit the ground and rolled over to Ash's feet. The camera changed to the inside of it with a round shadow showing the outside with the red top transparent. Ash, Verity and Sorrel gazed at the Poké Ball in wonder, before the Twinleaf turned to look at her old friends. The three stepped back as the device opened with a blue light filling the screen.

'On 1, 2, 3, dive in!'

A spotlight shined down on Ash as he thrust his right hand out with a grin, before all his Pokémon charged ahead with spot lights on all of them as well. Pikachu, Espeon, Venusaur, Blastoise, Grovyle, Raikou, Zoroark, Snorlax, Timburr, Deino, Sableye, Corphish, Meganium, Tauros, Kingler, Muk, Typhlosion, Nidoking, Gallade, Kabutops, Skrelp, Rapidash, Gengar, Primeape, Hitmonlee, Ampharos, Ursaring, Donphan, Feraligatr, Tyranitar and Trevenant all charged on ahead on the ground, while Latios, Latias, Charizard, Taillow, Pidgeot, Heracross, Scizor, Lapras, Flygon, Dragonite, Magnezone, Skarmory and Noctowl flew above them with Marshadow riding on Latios' back and Lapras floating thanks to Espeon's Psychic attack.

Pikachu suddenly sparkled with electric, before he leaped and fired Thunderbolt at Sorrel's Aerodactyl, who dodged it by flying by.

'I've got the future plans I imagined in my pocket'.

Verity's Milotic came out of nowhere with a spotlight on her and fired a Mud Shot attack at Sorrel's Lairon, striking the Rock and Iron Type and sending it sliding across the ground past Sorrel, who cried out in surprise. From the side jumped in Lucario with his paws together with an Aura Sphere in between them, getting Sorrel to smile as his Aura Pokémon fired the Aura Sphere, causing the camera to turn around to show Verity standing behind her Milotic, having wide eyes as the blue sphere grew closer.

The screen changed to show Team Rocket all together in the forest with Jessie standing to the right, James to the left and Meowth in the middle. Then from the sides, their Pokémon came out and stood behind them. Jessie had her Seviper, Dustox, Wobbuffet, Trubbish and Gothita gathered behind her, while James had Cacnea, Axew and Parasect behind him.

The three gave confident looks, before the two humans brought out Poké Balls and threw them forward as their Pokémon cheered, before the devices burst open to reveal bright white lights.

'Greeting someone new is always fresh'.

Ash stared up at the sky in amazement as Mega Latios faced off against Primal Kyogre in the air above with it raining heavily around them. Latios charged up a Luster Purge, before he fired it at Kyogre, who narrowed its eyes at the approaching attack.

'No need to hesitate! Try!'

Atop a grassy hill with the sky covered in dark clouds, Verity's Lopunny and Sorrel's Poliwrath stood 10 feet away from each other, before they charged in and began sparking in hand to hand combat with neither of them having the advantage.

Ash, Pikachu, Espeon, Latias, Zoroark, Donphan, Corphish and Dragonite all jumped up and cheered with a rainbow background. Verity, Piplup, Furret, Glameow, Vaporeon, Tangrowth, Kingdra and Lopunny all jumped up and cheered with a blue background. Finally, Sorrel, Lucario, Luxray, Accelgor, Lairon, Victreebel and Poliwrath all cheered with a green background.

'Let's have a fight!'

Atop the Sky Pillar, Ash, Verity and Sorrel all stood side by side with Pikachu riding on his trainer's right shoulder as Mega Sceptile, Mega Houndoom and Mega Gardevoir in front of them, all facing up at the sky where a shiny Mega Rayquaza was roaring down at them.

'1: Once the battle is done'.

The Hoenn Region champion Steven and his Mega shiny Metagross appeared with a silver background. The screen changed to show a stadium, where Steven waved his left hand out, giving a commanded as Mega Metagross unleashed a Flash Cannon attack. The camera shifted to show a Dragonite counter the Flash Cannon with a Hyper Beam attack with Lance standing behind the Dragon and Flying Type, having an excited grin planted on his face.

'2: And we're laughing or crying'.

The Johto Region champion Lance and his Dragonite appeared with a dark blue background. The screen then changed to various photos, the first showing Ash holding up the Johto League Silver Conference trophy in his hands, the second showing Verity holding up the Slateport Pokémon Contest Ribbon in her right hand, the third revealing Sorrel researching a set of ruins with his back turned to the camera.

The fourth photo showed all three friends and their partner Pokémon all together. Verity was in the middle, having a wide smile on her face with her eyes closed with her right hand wrapped around Sorrel's shoulders and left hand around Ash's shoulders, bringing the two smiling males into a group hug. Piplup, Pikachu and Lucario were all in front of their trainers in the photo, smiling wildly at the camera. The final photo showed them all leaning in towards the camera with happy faces.

'On 3, let's be friends!'

The screen changed to show Professor Oak, Tracey, Misty, Delia, Azora and Sylvia all together in Professor Oak's backyard with Azora holding her Pokémon in her arms. Professor Oak and Tracey smiled at each other; Misty winked at the camera and gave the peace sign with her left hand. Delia placed her hands down on Azora's shoulders and smiled down at her, getting Azora and Sylvia both to smile up at her.

The screen changed to show Forina with the sky black and various nocturnal Pokémon about, before Jirachi flew through his homeland, leaving a sparkling trail. A wild Ludicolo jumped into view in a forest, surrounded by several confused Marshtomps, before they all began dancing.

'Any day and every day, that's always been my rule'.

Ash, Verity, Sorrel, Pikachu, Piplup and Lucario stood on a cliff overlooking a city next to a tree with a blue sky filled with clouds. Time began changing as the sky changed to reveal a more clear blue one, then an orange sky as the sun began to set and then a beautiful night sky filled with stars.

The screen changed to show the Raizen Mountains, then to Mount Tensei, right where Ash battled Ho-Oh so long ago.

'With this unpredictable, boundless world awaiting'.

In the Petalburg City Gym, Norman opened his determined filled eyes, before the camera zoomed out to show that he was in the Petalburg Gym's battlefield with his Slaking in front of him. Norman crossed his arms, while Slaking roared as it began pounding its chest like a gorilla.

The screen changed to show Ash kneeling down, before he got up on his feet and walked into an opening surrounded by a white light with Pikachu by his right side.

'Let's go! Every time you trip and fall'.

With a yellow background, Pikachu's ears perked, before both he looked up at Ash as he walked forward with a wild smile that grew wilder as he looked down at Pikachu with a rainbow background. With an icy blue background, Piplup cried out as she looked up.

'Let's go! You pick yourself up by my side'.

With a blue background, Verity walked forward with a grin, before it grew as she looked down at her partner. With a silver background, Lucario's ears perked, before turned his head right to look at Sorrel as he walked forward, before he turned to look at his trusted partner with a green background.

Three mirrors appeared and showed the three old friends in separate mirrors with their Pokémon team. Sorrel was in the left mirror with his Lucario, Bagon, Bouffalant, Aerodactyl, shiny Ariados and Poliwrath around him, facing their direction with a green background. On the right mirror, Verity stood with her Piplup, Suicune, shiny Togepi, Vaporeon, Kingdra and shiny Gardevoir besides her as they faced right with a blue background.

In the middle mirror in between the three was Ash with Pikachu, Dragonite, shiny Trevenant, Donphan, Kingler, and Primeape, all facing forward with a rainbow background.

'I choose you'.

Sorrel lifted his left hand, Verity raised her right hand and Ash held up both of his hands, before all three friends hi-fived each other.

The Fallarbor Pokémon Contest was filled with a cheering audience as they enjoyed all the performances they've witnessed so far. "The Fallarbor Town Pokémon Contest has finally begun! And so far, we've seen some great things from our first-round contestants!" The announcer, Vivian Meridian, called out on her microphone as she thrust her right hand into the air. She wasn't lying as there have been enjoyable appeals so far.

Right now, Drew was taking his turn. He gave a laugh as he flicked his hair in the usual style. "Ha! Go Roselia, Petal Dance!" The male Pokémon Coordinator commanded, sounding completely confident and sure of himself. "Ro...li!" Roselia cried out with her eyes closed, spreading her closed in arms out and released a beautiful and graceful Petal Dance of pink petals. The judges gave their scores; Mr. Contesta a 9.9, Mr. Sukizo 9.8 and Nurse Joy a 9.9, before the monitor showed the total score of 29.6.

Later on, Grace was taking her turn and was using her Medicham for the appeals round. "High Jump Kick, Medicham!" The red-haired woman commanded her Fighting and Psychic type. "Me...di...cham! Cham-cham-cham! Medicham!" Medicham cried out, leaping into the air and doing some moves, before diving down with its left knee gleaming with white energy in a High Jump Kick attack. Grace ended up scoring 29.5 points for her appeals round.

Right now, it was Jessibella's turn as she stepped into view with her right hand resting on the hip, having a confident grin. "Next up, we present contestant Number 22; please welcome Empress Jessibella!" Vivian announced, gesturing towards Jessibella with her right hand as the crowd cheered for the Coordinator. Ash narrowed his eyes at the sight of Jessibella, yet remained silent as his friends watched with eager expressions.

In another section of the audience, James and Meowth were seated beside one another, watching the Pokémon Contest as well. The former rich boy's face lit up at the sight of his teammate. "She's up!" James exclaimed, bringing up his hands to the sides of his mouth. "Do it, Jessibella!" Meowth cried out, throwing his right paw into the air to cheer Jessibella on. Speaking of the disguised female Team Rocket member, she brought out a Poké Ball with her right hand and reared it back.

"Come out, Cacnea!" Jessibella cried out with a wide smile, before tossing the device out and sending it spinning into the air. It burst open and released a white beam that struck the ground, quickly taking shape and cleared to reveal James' Cacnea. "Cacnea!" The Grass type cried out with narrowed eyes, facing Jessibella, who looked down towards her teammate's Pokémon. "Alright, let's do this". The disguised Jessie declared to the Grass type. "Cacnea!" Cacnea replied to the female adult, ready for what they're about to do.

Jessibella then cried out as she, surprisingly, began running towards Cacnea. "Caccc!" The Grass type cried out as he leaped towards Jessibella with its arms spread out. "It's a quick approach from Cacnea and Jessibella! What sort of collision will it lead to?!" Vivian called out on her microphone as everyone watched closely with the tension high. Even May, Drew and Grace were watching from the waiting besides one another, all three bearing frowns on their face as they watched.

Finally, Jessibella and Cacnea reached each other and...hugged!?

(Music end)

This surprised everyone as they widened their eyes at the unexpected course of action. "What!?" May cried out from the waiting room, just as surprised as everyone else. "Oh, my..." Vivian said in a stunned voice, having expected many things but this was not one of them. Cacnea had its eyes closed as it hugged Jessibella, who was nearly crying in pain from Cacnea's sharp spikes touching her skin, yet remained strong.

Yesterday after she, James and Meowth helped the gang drove off Team Aqua, Jessie got to work on preparing for the Pokémon Contest. She chose James' Cacnea for the appeals round, and Gothita for the battling round. Her "training" with Cacnea had a rocky start, not to mention painfully, as it got struck in Jessie's hair, much to the panic of James and Meowth. Left with little choice, James had to use his Axew to cut off Jessie's hair with Slash, something that she made quite difficult to do. Still, she lost a large portion of her hair and ended up with short hair as a resulting, the reason why it was like this now.

The whole audience was stunned as well, some even gasping as they stared at the hugging forms of Jessibella and Cacnea. With James and Meowth, the two were crying waterfalls in anime style at witnessing this. "So far, so good". The Normal type stated, resting both paws on his knees. "She's holding up under the pain better than I could". James remarked, hands clapped together as if he was praying for Jessie to make it through the ordeal.

With Ash, Verity, Brock, Max, Pikachu, Piplup and Jirachi, they all had uncomfortable expressions at what they were watching. "Now that's gotta hurt". Ash winced with a small bit of sweat; teeth unintentionally gritted against one another. "Unique way for going for appeal". Brock remarked with his arms crossed, yet still looked just as uncomfortable as the others. "The first round is meant to show off the bond between Pokémon Coordinator and their Pokémon, so this is allowed. Still, I don't think anyone thought of this before". Verity commented, smiling in a nervous manner as even she's never thought of something like this before.

Max hugged himself as he could feel himself shaking, as if he could feel Cacnea's spikes. "There's gotta be a better way, this is making me hurt". Max shivered, feeling imaginary pain hit him as he watched. 'Ouch'. Jirachi winced as he hugged himself as well, wishing he could just teleport Jessibella and Cacnea away to avoid watching any further. "Pi-pika". Pikachu commented, scratching his left ear with his foot and closed both eyes. "Pip...lup". Piplup groaned out, having turned anime white from the dread she was experiencing.

In the waiting room, May, Grace and even Drew all had uncomfortable expressions as they watched Jessibella's performance. "I'm not one to judge someone else's performance, but even I've got to admit that this isn't a normal one". Drew commented with both of his eyes narrowed in a nervous way.

"You can say that again. Still, it's one way to show off the bond between people and Pokémon". Grace said with her arms crossed, slightly twitching a bit from the chills she was experiencing. "But I don't think an appeal is meant to be as uncomfortable as this". May remarked with her lips trembling a little. Even being inside that virus Groudon wasn't as uncomfortable as this.

Vivian was the one to break the silence, only she had tears running down her face at the "touching" scene. "Wow! That's true love! What a romantic heartwarming embrace, showing the deep bond between Coordinator and Pokémon!" The female announcer cried out, sounding touched as spectators all began crying at the "touching" scene themselves. "You can feel the emotional impact it's had on this crowd!" Vivian added, while Jessibella closed her eyes as she could feel herself slipping away from consciousness.

'Don't know...how much more...I can take... But I'm so close, I won't let all those hard hours of training myself go to waste'. The disguised Jessie said inside her mind, refusing to give up after coming this far. "Cacnea...go right into...PIN MISSILE!" Jessibella shouted out with all her remaining strength. "CacneAAA!" The Cactus Pokémon cried out, directing its arms into the air and fired white, arrow-shaped streams of pins from the spikes on his arms into the air. Cacnea's Pin Missile attack soared through the air, before coming together and connected with each other, resulting in sparkling energy like fireworks.

The audience all looked amazed at the fireworks as they gasped in awe. The fireworks then rained down on Jessibella and Cacnea, the little Grass type letting out a cry as they were showed in the sparkling energy. "A gorgeous fireworks display using Pin Missile!" Vivian called out with an amazed smile as she stared at the raining down sparkling energy, truly impressed with the performance.

Back in the waiting room, May, Drew and Grace no longer had uncomfortable expressions as they were truly impressed with what they witnessed. "It was..."different" at first, but became an amazing performance at the end". The green-haired male said with a natural expression, impressed with how beautiful a single attack could be. "She has potential to be a great Pokémon Coordinator, no doubt about it". Grace remarked, keeping her arms crossed with both eyes now narrowed. "Wow, that was great". May commented, staring at the monitor with slight wide eyes.

Back on the main stage, James and Meowth both grinned in approval at their teammate's performance. "Jessie's good". The Normal type Pokémon stated with a confident expression, amazed himself at how good Jessie's become despite the short time since her last contest. "Good enough to be in the second round". The blue-haired male said as he held up his left first, certain that Jessie will win this round and proceed to the second round.

The judges then gave out their thoughts of Jessibella's performance. "Combining Pin Missile with fireworks was an impressive idea". Nurse Joy said with a wide smile as she found Jessibella's strategy truly impressive. "I'll say...remarkable". Mr. Sukizo stated, leaning a bit forward in his seat. "A beautiful blending of love and high explosives". Mr. Contesta said with a nod of approval at the performance of Jessibella and Cacnea.

"Again, the crowd and judges agree. Praise for Jessibella and Cacnea. Now, what will their score be?" Vivian said on her microphone, before turning towards the judges as they gave Jessibella's points out. Surprisingly, they all gave a score of 9.9 on their podiums. The monitor then showed the total score being a 29.7 for Jessibella, earning a round of applause from the audience. "29.7! Well, that's the highest score in this contest yet!" Vivian cried out with a wide smile, before turning her head right. "Our next contestant is... huh?" She began, only to stop and blink upon seeing Jessibella still on the stage.

In fact, the female adult seemed like she was petrified with no hints of movement and a face full of pain. The brown-haired female announced walked up towards the masked coordinator. "Okay, time to clear the stage". Vivian told Jessibella before poking the purplish red-haired woman, only to cry out in surprise as the disguised Jessie fell to the ground on her back with a twitching noise, somehow still holding Cacnea in her arms. "Chansey, I think we're gonna need the stretcher for this one!" Vivian called out on her microphone, calling for Nurse Joy's Chansey that provided medical assistance whenever something happened in a contest.

A few seconds later in the waiting room, May, Drew and Grace all had sweat drops as the monitor showed Nurse Joy's Chansey pushing a stretcher with Jessibella lying atop it. "To be fair, she did bring that upon herself". The red-haired woman said with a wince, rubbing her left forearm with the right hand. "After doing a performance like that, I'd be surprised if she managed to walk away unscathed". Drew remarked with a deadpan face, although he wondered if Jessibella thought she'd be able to walk out of the stage after the whole ordeal. "Let's just hope she gets better". May said to her fellow coordinators, though she had full faith that everything would be alright.

Back on the main stage, Vivian anime bounced to the middle of the stage with an anime nervous look. "Well, ladies and gentlemen, that takes us to our next contestant!" The female announced called out, throwing her right hand out as the next contestant came to take their turn.

After that contestant's turn, May walked onto the stage as it was finally her turn. "Now everyone, let's give a warm welcome to May from Petalburg City!" Vivian called out as the crowd applauded for May. The faces of Ash, Verity, Max, Brock, Pikachu, Piplup and Jirachi all lit up upon seeing the brunette finally taking her turn. "Good luck out there, May!" Max cried out towards his sister in encouragement. 'Do your best!' Jirachi cried out as well, waving both hands into the air.

"Show them just how much better you've gotten and earn your place in the next round!" Brock exclaimed with a supportive smile, certain that May will pass this round and advance on to the next one. "You can do it May!" Ash and Verity called out towards the second girlfriend of the Rainbow Hero, supporting her all the way. "Pikachu-pi! /Piplup!" Pikachu and Piplup also cried out in support to the brunette, just like their trainers.

May gave a smile, before holding up an enlarged Dive Ball with her right hand. "Shellos, take the stage!" The Petalburg girl cried out, rearing her right hand in, and then tossed it into the air. The blue and white coloured device spun around in mid-air, before suddenly stopping and burst open, releasing a white beam that struck the ground. It quickly cleared to reveal the West Sea Shellos, who had a confident grin on its face. "Shellos!" The Water type cried out, full of energy and ready to act.

May thrust her right hand out, having a smile of confidence present. "Shellos, start off with Earth Power!" The Pokémon Coordinator called out, getting the Water type to grin as it faced forward. "Shel!" The Sea Slug Pokémon cried out, its outline flashes yellow as its neck grew larger, before Shellos headbutted the ground in front of it. Golden cracks formed on the ground, forming an "X" sharp crack 5 feet away. "Oh, my. Starting off with a powerful move like Earth Power! What will they do next?" Vivian questioned with an eager expression, looking forward to what will happen next.

"Now, Water Gun!" May added, which Shellos cried out as it lifted its neck up, and then unleashed a spiral of water from its mouth at the "X" shape crack. The stream of water went inside the golden glowing crack and disappeared. Then, after a moment, water erupted out of the crack, but was now a golden colour as it erupted like a geyser. "Body Slam". The brunette said softly as she raised her right hand up and held it like something was gonna land on it.

"Shellos!" The Sea Slug Pokémon exclaimed as it retracted its neck back to normal size, before leaping into the air. Shellos came crashing down on the geyser of golden water, which actually began to focus on the Sea Slug Pokémon with Shellos continuing to push down, causing the water it pushed through to turn into golden glitter that passed through the Water type.

Shellos eventually crashed down fully on the golden "X" crack on the ground, however suddenly another geyser of golden water erupted out of the crack and sent the Sea Slug Pokémon flying. Yet, Shellos didn't panic as it kept grinning with confidence as it spun around, causing the glitter that gotten on the Water type to spread out, before stopping in a straight position.

Shellos then landed on May's waiting right hand in a perfect landing with the glitter sparkling around it. The golden crack then flashed, before the geyser dispersed into golden rain drops that rained down, before suddenly being pulled towards Shellos. The golden rain drops all rained down on Shellos, but did no harm to the Water type as it gave a pleased cry. May brought her left hand in and gave a humble bow, ending the performance.

(Music end)

The crowd immediately went wild at the performance, applauding for the masterful appeal done by May and Shellos. "What an amazing performance! It was not only one of skillfully mastered moves, but of strength and the ability of the Pokémon. Truly magnificent!" Vivian called out on her microphone in awe, truly seeing that May's performance was a masterful one as it appeared to have required lots of practice to be successful.

"To combine both Earth Power and Water Gun, then followed up Storm Drain is both creative and masterful". Mr. Contesta said with an amazed smile, resting both of his hands on the podium. "Simply remarkable". Mr. Sukizo stated with his usual smile displayed, though just two words said all he felt about the appeal. "Using the powers of water, earth and strength all at once was amazing". Nurse Joy said as she clapped her hands together. "Our judges have all enjoyed May's performance. Now, what kind of score will they give her". The female announced said in wonder, turning towards the three judges to see the points they'll give for May.

The podiums of Mr. Contesta, Sukizo and Nurse Joy all displayed different, but high points. Mr. Contesta: 9.5. Mr. Sukizo: 8.8 and Nurse Joy: 9.3. The monitor showed the total of the three judges' points, making a total of 27.6 points. "A score of 27.6 points for May, truly a high score!" Vivian called out with a wide smile as the audience applauded for the Petalburg girl and her Shellos.

The gang all looked pleased with the results as it was one of the highest ones in the contest. "Alright, she scored above 25". Brock said with an approved smile as Pikachu, Piplup and Jirachi all cheered for May and Shellos. "Way to go, May!" Max cried out in applause for his sister. "You're rocking this contest!" Verity exclaimed, glad to see that May's performance that she practiced with Shellos was finally displayed for the audience to see. "That's the way to do it". The Rainbow Hero said with a grin, certain that May has a good chance to advance to the next round.

May and Shellos all smiled at the people of Fallarbor Town cheering for them, before looking at one another. May laughed as she and Shellos gave each other happy expressions.

(Meanwhile with Sorrel)

As the Fallarbor Pokémon Contest continued, deep in the forest of Route 114 Sorrel and Lucario continued their training with Mega Aerodactyl and Bagon. Their training has led them to not only battling wild Pokémon, but Pokémon Trainers in the area as well. They've found some items as well; such as TM28: Dig, TM05: Roar, a Comet Shard and even a Fire Stone that they won from a trainer called "Kindler Bernie". Right now, Sorrel and Lucario were about to battle a Pokémon Trainer they had met and been challenged to a battle. It was a young man called Poké Maniac Steve (Game appearance), someone with a rather weird choice of clothing.

Sorrel and Lucario stood 10 feet away from the green haired boy as their battle was about to begin. Steve threw his head into the air and let out a roar. "Rrrraaa! I'm gonna show you real power!" The green-haired male roared out, bringing his right hand behind himself, before swiping out to show an enlarged Great Ball in hand. "Show them what you're made of, Ampharos!" Steve exclaimed, tossing the Great Ball out. The device burst out and released a white beam that struck the ground in front of himself, before clearing to reveal an Ampharos.

The Electric type cried out with dangerous narrowed eyes directed at Sorrel and Lucario. The Fighting and Steel type narrowed his eyes at the Ampharos, before it took a step forward to battle it, only to stop when Sorrel raised his right hand. Lucario turned to look at its trainer, who shook his head at the Aura Pokémon. "Wait for now. There's someone else in mind to battle that Ampharos". The Veilstone boy told the Fighting and Steel type, which Lucario nodded his head to its trainer and stepped back.

Sorrel faced forward, before placing his right hand into his pants' right pocket and brought out a Net Ball. He tapped on the center, causing the device to enlarge, before holding it out. "Go! Ariados!" The Sinnoh resident called out, swiping his hand out to the side and then tossed the device out. The device shot through the air, before bursting open and released a bluish white light. It struck the ground, before clearing to reveal Sorrel's shiny Ariados. The Bug and Poison type let out a fierce cry as sparkles briefly appeared around it.

"Rah! Fire Punch!" Steve commanded, throwing both arms forward, holding them as if they were claws. The Light Pokémon cried out fiercely as its right fist become covered in red-orange flames, before charging towards Ariados. "Fire, huh? Ariados, use Dig!" Sorrel commanded his Bug and Poison type, getting Ariados to cry out, before it burred underground. Ampharos stopped in its tracks and cried out in surprise as it looked around its surroundings. The Long Leg Pokémon then erupted out of the ground in front of Ampharos and tackled it in the stomach.

The Light Pokémon gasped out in pain as it was pushed back, sliding across the ground a bit before stopping. "Show them what you're made of! Hyper Beam!" The Poké Maniac cried out, swiping his arms up and down. The Electric type narrowed its eyes at Ariados, before crying out as an orange ball of energy appears in front of its mouth. "Oh, no you don't!" Sorrel exclaimed, throwing his open right hand out. "Ariados, Sucker Punch!" The 12-year-old boy commanded with narrowed eyes, getting his Ariados to growl, before it shot out at high speed and began crawling around the Light Pokémon.

Ampharos widened its eyes in surprise, yet that one moment was all Ariados needed as it appeared in front of the Electric type and bashed him in the stomach. The Light Pokémon was pushed back once more, however Ampharos unleashed a red-orange, fire-like beam of energy from the ball at Ariados, landing a hit and causing an explosion that covered the Bug and Poison type from view. "Ariados!?" Sorrel cried out in concern, while Lucario narrowed his eyes in concern. Fortunately, the Long Leg Pokémon came sliding out of the smokescreen created from the explosion and stopped in front of its trainer.

Sorrel smiled a bit in relief at seeing Ariados alright, before looking forward. The smoke cleared to reveal Ampharos holding its arms out to the sides, breathing heavy a little. "It's beginning to get a bit exhausted and thanks to Hyper Beam, it can't move for a bit. Now's a chance to power up, use Swords Dance!" The dark green haired boy, swiping his right hand out to the side.

Ariados cried out as his eyes glow light-blue, and multiple light-blue swords appeared and circled around it. The swords stopped and pointed towards Ariados, end first, before disappearing. A red aura then burst from the ground underneath it, before a lighter-colored red aura went upwards along Ariados' body, powering him up. Ampharos shook its head sideways to shake off its daze, before glaring towards its opponent. "Power up all you want, it'll mean nothing! Ampharos, Volt Switch!" Steve roared out, throwing his head back and cried out into the air.

Ampharos puts its arms together in front of it and a yellow orb of electricity appears in between the hands. The Light Pokémon then opened its arms and fired the orb of electricity at Ariados, landing another hit and causing a bright light. Sorrel and Lucario groaned as they covered their eyes from the bright light, while Ampharos transformed into a red beam that shot out towards Steve. It went past the young man and into his pants, probably back into its Great Ball. A bluish white beam then shot out and struck the ground, growing large and taking shape, before clearing to reveal the Pokémon.

It's a large, brownish-gray Pokémon with two horns: a larger one on its nose, and smaller one above it. The larger horn was divided into three sections by two thin slanted rings, making the horn resemble a drill. Its hide is partially covered by orange, rocky plates on its head, shoulders, arms, waist, and knees. It had blade-like protrusions on its elbows and had holes in the palms of its hands. It had three blunt, gray fingers on each hand, two gray toes on each foot, and a club-like tail. Its eyes had red irises with what appears be two thick, rectangular rocks above each one, resembling heavy eyebrows. "Rhyperior!" The Pokémon roared out, raising its hands into the air.

Sorrel and Lucario widened their eyes in alarm, while Ariados sweat dropped at the rather large size difference between it and its new opponent. "Oh boy, it's a Rhyperior". The Sinnoh resident boy said slowly, before bringing out his Sinnoh Region Pokédex. He opened it, held the device out towards the Ground and Rock type, and scanned it. "Rhyperior, the Drill Pokémon. Rhyperior launches rocks or Geodude from holes in its palms. Its shell-like covering can withstand a volcano's eruptions". The device explained, giving out information of the Drill Pokémon.

Sorrel closed his Pokédex and put it away, while Steve cried out into the air. "Breaking Swipe!" The young man commanded, which Rhyperior roared as its tail began to glow purple. Rhyperior began charging towards the Bug and Poison type, leaving an earthquake with each step. "Talk about a bulldozer. Ariados, Pin Missile!" The Sinnoh resident commanded, throwing his right hand out to the side. Ariados cried out, before the appendages of his back glowed light green, and then proceeded to fire light green spikes from them at the charging Drill Pokémon.

The light green spikes struck the Rock and Ground type, getting Rhyperior to flinch, yet it kept on charging forward. Once it was right in front of Ariados, Rhyperior spun around and slammed its glowing tail into the Bug and Poison type, sending it flying with a cry of pain. "Ariados!" Sorrel cried out in concern, while Lucario growled as he stared at Rhyperior with narrowed eyes. The Long Leg Pokémon crashed on its back, yet managed to get back on its legs. "You okay?" The young man asked his Bug and Poison type with a worried voice, which Ariados turned its head to look at Sorrel and gave a nod.

Ariados's nod made Sorrel smile a bit in relief, before both he and the Long Leg Pokémon turned back towards Rhyperior as it slammed its tail on the ground. "Rock it! Flamethrower!" The Poké Maniac commanded, receiving a cry from the Drill Pokémon as it opened its mouth and unleashed a red-orange stream of fire from its mouth at Ariados. "Use Dig to dodge!" Sorrel commanded with slightly wide eyes. The Long Leg Pokémon immediately burred underground, dodging Flamethrower as the red-orange stream of fire struck the ground instead.

Ariados moved underground towards Rhyperior, before bursting out from underneath in front of it. Ariados rammed into the Rock and Ground type, flinching a bit as the Drill Pokémon stepped back, yet it didn't appear to be too hurt. 'It doesn't appear to have taken much damage. Does that mean its ability is Solid Rock?' The Veilstone boy questioned inside his own mind, noticing that Ariados' Dig attack didn't deal as much damage it was supposed to do. "Rock Wrecker!" Steve roared out, getting a roar from Rhyperior in response.

The Drill Pokémon puts its hands together, and small chunks of gray stones come out of the holes on Rhyperior's hands and form together into a large gray rock with a red aura around it. "Sucker Punch go!" Sorrel commanded, which Ariados growled, before it shot out at high speed and began crawling around Rhyperior. After a moment, it appeared in front of the Rock and Ground type and bashed into it. The force of the attack pushed the Ground and Rock type just an inch, yet it remained strong. The red aura around the gray rock faded, and then Rhyperior threw the rock at the Bug and Poison type.

Right at the moment Rock Wrecker came into contact with Ariados, it created a powerful explosion that covered both the Long Leg Pokémon and Rhyperior from view. The shockwaves even forced Sorrel, Steve and Lucario to cover their eyes with their left forearms, before the Veilstone boy swiped his arm to the side. "Ariados!" Sorrel cried out in concern for his shiny Pokémon. The smoke quickly cleared to reveal the Pokémon; Rhyperior was still standing but looked a little tired. Ariados, on the other hand, had collapsed on its stomach and its eyes had swirls in them.

The Bug and Poison type groaned as it couldn't battle anymore. Sorrel lightly gritted his teeth, while Steve let out a triumphant cry at Rhyperior's victory. Lucario looked at his partner in wonder as Sorrel held Ariados' enlarged Net Ball out towards it. "You did well Ariados, rest for now". The Veilstone boy praised his defeated Pokémon as the device in his hand released a red beam that struck the shiny Ariados. The Long Leg Pokémon glowed red, before being engulfed in it, and then returned into inside the device. Sorrel then put away the device in his coat's pocket, before bringing out an enlarged Great Ball.

"Go, Poliwrath!" The Veilstone boy cried out, tossing the device forward. The Great Ball spun around in mid-air, before suddenly stopping and burst open. A bright white beam came out, before quickly clearing to reveal Poliwrath, who had its eyes narrowed at Rhyperior. "Poliwrath!" The Tadpole Pokémon cried out, before landing on its feet and raised its fists, ready to battle. "We've got time, so we'll use it! Bulk Up!" Sorrel commanded, holding up his right hand. "Poli...wrath!" The Water and Fighting-type exclaimed as its body become surrounded in a red aura, causing its muscles and body to grow bigger.

Rhyperior narrowed its eyes at Poliwrath, before releasing a fierce roar at the Tadpole Pokémon, a sign that it had recovered from Rock Wrecker's aftereffects. "That's the way! Now, use Thunder Fang!" Steve commanded the Drill Pokémon with a confident grin. The Rock and Ground type roared as its fangs began to glow yellow and sparks of yellow electricity appeared, surrounding its fangs.

Rhyperior then charged towards the red aura covered Poliwrath, who showed no fear at the approaching opponent. "Take advantage of Rhyperior's momentum and use Circle Throw!" Sorrel called out, holding his left hand up and the right fist out. "Poliwrath!" Poliwrath responded, before charging forward. Rhyperior attempted to bite down on the Water and Fighting type, yet before it could, Poliwrath grabbed hold of it, and then turned on its back, throwing Rhyperior over his head with a kick. The Drill Pokémon exclaimed in surprise as it crashed onto the ground on its back.

"Whoa!" Steve exclaimed in shock at how Rhyperior was flipped over like that when it was very heavy. Lucario cried out in praise towards his fellow Fighting type, while Sorrel smirked. "Nice one! Now, jump on top of Rhyperior and use Ice Punch again and again!" The Veilstone boy commanded the Tadpole Pokémon, seeing this as a perfect opportunity. "Poliwrath wrath". Poliwrath said as it stood up straight, before leaping backwards and came down crashing on Rhyperior's stomach. The Tadpole Pokémon then raised its fists, before both of them became surround with icy blue energy.

Poliwrath began releasing a barrage of Ice Punches to Rhyperior's face, landing hit after hit. Rhyperior's trainer released a growl at seeing this, before roaring out. "Ahhh, Flamethrower to get that Poliwrath off of you!" Steve commanded, scratching the air itself with his hands as if he had claws. "Rhyperior!" The Drill Pokémon growled out, opening its mouth and unleashing a red-orange stream of fire at Poliwrath, landing a direct hit. However, the Water and Fighting type didn't seem that affected as he didn't flinch.

"Nice try, but no cigar. Poliwrath, finish it with Throat Chop!" The Veilstone City boy commanded, holding his right hand out in a karate chop position. "Poliwrath!" The Tadpole Pokémon exclaimed with energy as its fists lost the icy blue energy surrounding them. Poliwrath then leaped into the air, before both of his hands glow purple. The Water and Fighting type began diving down towards Rhyperior with his purple glowing hands out in a stabbing position. The Poké Maniac cried out in panic at seeing this. "Ahh, quickly use Rock Wecker again!" Steve exclaimed with an alarmed voice, hoping it wasn't too late to act.

The Drill Pokémon puts its hands together, and small chunks of gray stones come out of the holes on Rhyperior's hands and began to form a large gray rock. However, it was too late to complete Rock Wrecker as Poliwrath came down and smashed through the forming Rock type attack and onto the Drill Pokémon, landing a direct double Throat Chop on it. Rhyperior gasped out in pain, arms twitching for a moment, before collapsing to the sides. The purple glow around Poliwrath's arms died down as the Water and Fighting type stood atop the Drill Pokémon.

(Music end)

Poliwrath looked down at Rhyperior's face and saw the swirls in its eyes, the sign that it could no longer battle. "Poliwrath!" The Water and Fighting type cried out in triumph, raising its hands up into the air. "Rrraaa!" Lucario cried out in joy, while Sorrel raised his right hand with a smirk displayed. "Great job". The Veilstone boy praised his Pokémon for its victory. Steve gritted his teeth, before holding out an enlarged Timer Ball towards Rhyperior. "Return!" The Poké Maniac exclaimed, firing a red beam from the device that struck the down Drill Pokémon.

Rhyperior glowed red, until it was engulfed in the glow and was pulled into the Timer Ball, while Poliwrath fell and landed on the ground. Steve put the device away, before bringing out an enlarged Dive Ball with his right hand. "Wash those suckers away, Slowbro!" The green haired male shouted out, tossing the device out. The Dive Ball opened and released a white beam that struck the ground. It quickly cleared and revealed a bipedal, pink Pokémon with a tan, striped belly and a rounded, tan muzzle. It had large, vacant eyes, curled ears, and two small, pointed teeth protruding from its upper jaw. It has three clawed fingers on its hands and two clawed toes on its feet. There was a Shellder attached to its tail. This Shellder had a gray, spiral shell with darker gray spots and small, triangular eyes near the base.

"Slowbro". The Hermit Crab Pokémon said with the usual Slowbro clueless face. Sorrel narrowed his eyes at the Water and Psychic type, but remained silent. Poliwrath became on alert at seeing Slowbro, knowing full well he was at a disadvantage since Slowbro's part Psychic-type.

(Play Kanto Trainer Battle II - Pokémon (Anime) Music Extended)

"Mega Punch!" Steve called out with a grin, feeling excited from this intense battle. "Fight back with Throat Chop!" Sorrel commanded, thrusting his right fist out. Poliwrath's right fist glowed purple, while Slowbro's right one become surrounded in a black orb of energy. The two Water types then cried out as they charged at one another and swung their fists out. Both Throat Chop and Mega Punch clashed against each other, sparkles of energy sparking around the two clashing attacks. Then, the two attacks caused an explosion that pushed both Poliwrath and Slowbro 5 feet back.

The two remained standing as they glared at one another, while their attacks died down. "Ice Punch, go!" Sorrel ordered, swiping his right hand out to the side. "Poliwrath!" The Tadpole Pokémon said as its fists became surround with icy blue energy. Poliwrath then began charging towards the Water and Psychic type once more with the intention to land a direct hit. "Use Psyshock and blast them!" Steve told the Hermit Crab Pokémon, going for a different approach. "Slowbro!" Slowbro called out as it created a stream of purple energy in between its hands, before firing a purple beam of energy from it towards the approaching Poliwrath.

Psyshock landed a direct hit on Poliwrath, causing an explosion that left a smokescreen that covered the Tadpole Pokémon from view. However, Poliwrath quickly came out of the smoke, sliding across the ground with both eyes closed, before stopping in front of Sorrel and Lucario. "Poliwrath!" The Pokémon Professor in training called out in concern as Poliwrath fell to its right knee. "Nice shot! Now, Mega Punch again!" Steve commanded with a smirk, throwing his left fist out. "Slowbro!" Slowbro called out as its right fist become surrounded in a black orb of energy.

Slowbro then charged towards the kneeling form of Poliwrath, intending to strike the Tadpole Pokémon with Mega Punch. Sorrel wasn't gonna allow it, however. "Poliwrath, Circle Throw". The 12-year-old boy told the Tadpole Pokémon, refusing to allow an easy victory for his opponent. Poliwrath opened its eyes to reveal a determined look, before standing up on its feet as Slowbro drew closer. Right as the Hermit Crab Pokémon swung its fist at Poliwrath, the Water and Fighting type grabbed hold of its forearm, and then turned on its back, throwing Slowbro over his head with a kick.

The Hermit Crab Pokémon crashed on its back, yet just blinked its eyes at what happened, expression still the same as before. "You just gotta love that trick". Sorrel remarked with a grin, getting an amused chuckle from Lucario as he agreed with him on that. "Slowbro, use Drain Punch and drain some of its energy!" Steve commanded the Hermit Crab Pokémon, which Slowbro just blinked as it sat up. The Water and Psychic type lifted up its right hand as it became surrounded by a black orb with blue-white sparkles, outlined in green. Poliwrath stood up on its feet, before quickly turning around as its opponent got up as well.

Slowbro turned around and suddenly charged towards Poliwrath, swiping its Drain Punch out repeatedly at the Tadpole Pokémon. Poliwrath, fortunately, was managing to dodge all the punch attempts from its opponent yet was backing up as it did so. "Ice Punch to block". Sorrel told Poliwrath, which the Water and Fighting type gave an affirmative cry as its fists gained icy blue energy around themselves. Slowbro swung its Drain Punch right fist out, but then Poliwrath knocked it aside with its left Ice Punch. The Tadpole Pokémon then thrust its right Ice Punch and rammed it into Slowbro's stomach.

The Water and Psychic type widened its eyes and breathed out heavy a bit, before taking a few steps back. The black orb around Slowbro's right hand dispersed, while Poliwrath ceased using Ice Punch. "Fire Blast!" Steve cried out, holding his right fist up and left hand out. "Slow...bro!" Slowbro breathed out, before unleashing ball of yellow-orange fire from its mouth. The ball of fire then turned into a 大-shaped flame. "Poliwrath!" Poliwrath exclaimed as it brought its arms up in an "X" shape shield, right as Fire Blast landed a direct hit and caused an explosion.

The smoke created from the explosion cleared quickly to reveal Poliwrath still standing, yet now appeared to be a bit burnt. The Tadpole Pokémon was breathing heavily with its left eye closed as it had grown a bit exhausted from battling two powerful foes. "Poliwrath's getting tired. We need to end this quick". Sorrel said with narrowed eyes, having taken notice of his Pokémon's exhaustion. "Rrraaa". Lucario growled in agreement as he could see that Poliwrath won't last much longer.

"Go! Finish this with Mega Punch!" Steve commanded with a smirk, throwing his left fist out. "Slowbro!" Slowbro called out as its right fist become surrounded in a black orb of energy. Slowbro started running towards Poliwrath's exhausted form, intending to finish this battle with his victory. "If we're going down, you're coming with us! Poliwrath, Throat Chop!" The Pokémon Professor in training commanded, thrusting his right hand into the air in a dramatic fashion. At the command, the Water and Fighting type opened its left eye and gave a look of resolve.

"Poli...wrath!" The Tadpole Pokémon cried out with pride as its hands glowed purple, before swiping them out to the sides. Poliwrath then charged towards Slowbro with its right glowing hand reared back. Once the two opponents were within striking distance, both Slowbro and Poliwrath swung their energy covered hands out. The Hermit Crab Pokémon struck Poliwrath in the stomach, while the Tadpole Pokémon struck Slowbro at its throat. The two widened their eyes upon taking the full force of each other's attacks. The two stood perfectly still for a few moments, until the wind blew, and they fell to their backs.

Sorrel, Steve and Lucario looked and saw in the eyes of Poliwrath and Slowbro, swirls, indicating that they cannot battle anymore. Wordlessly, the two trainers held out their Great and Dive Balls and recalled the Water types. Once Poliwrath was safely recalled, Sorrel looked down at the device in his hand and gave a proud smile. "You've made me proud, Poliwrath. For now, take a nice long rest, you've earned it". The Pokémon Professor in training said to the device, as if he was speaking to the Pokémon inside. He then put the device away and looked towards his opponent.

The Poké Maniac put his Dive Ball away, and then instantly brought out a Dusk Ball. "Go! Agron!" Steve cried out, rearing his right hand back and then threw it out, tossing the device forward. It burst open and released a white beam that struck the ground, kicking up a bit of dust, before clearing to reveal the Pokémon. It's a huge, bipedal Pokémon. It was primarily gray with plates of silver armor. The armor on its head had two pairs of holes with horns protruding from the foremost holes. Its forehead plating extends past its upper jaw in a small point. It had sky-blue eyes, and two nostril-like holes on the tip of its upper jaw. On the rim of its mouth are several pointed, fang-like protrusions and the nape of its neck and back have gray-silver armor sections. It had wide, blunt spikes on its shoulders and gray-silver bands on its arms and legs. Its hands and feet each have three claws. It has a thick, long, black tail as well.

"Aggron!" The revealed Rock and Steel type roared out at Sorrel and Lucario, releasing a strong gust of wind that made Sorrel's coat blow and Lucario's fur sway a bit. Yet, the two weren't intimidated the least bit at the new opponent. Sorrel narrowed his eyes at the sight of the Iron Armor Pokémon, before bringing out his opened Pokédex and scanned Aggron with it. "Aggron, the Iron Armor Pokémon, and the evolved form of Lairon. Aggron claims a large mountain for its territory, and fiercely defends it from those who trespass". The device explained, giving out information about the Rock and Steel type.

'The evolved form of Lairon, huh'. The Veilstone boy thought to himself, before putting away the Sinnoh Pokédex. He then held out a shrunken Nest Ball with his right hand, before tapping the center, causing the device to enlarge. "You're up Bagon". The 12-year-old boy said as he held the device out, before it burst open and released a bluish white beam. It struck the ground and quickly cleared to reveal Sorrel's newest catch with the Dragon type looking ready to battle. "Bagon!" The Rock Head Pokémon cried out proudly, raising its hands into the air.

"This looks like to be an easy victory! Iron Tail!" Steve commanded with a confident smirk, certain that he'll win this battle easily. Aggron roared out as its tail began glowing bright white, before charging towards its smaller opponent. Bagon showed no fear at the approaching danger, something that made Sorrel grin a bit. "No fear towards a larger opponent, you're one brave little dragon. Bagon, use Bite to stop Iron Tail!" The Veilstone boy commanded, swiping his right hand out to the side with the index and middle fingers out.

Aggron cried out as it spun around and swung its tail towards Bagon, but then...

Kablam!

The Dragon type caught the glowing white tail of Aggron by biting down hard on it. Bagon was pushed back a bit, yet remained standing and managed to stop Iron Tail. Sorrel and Lucario laughed happily at seeing this, while Steve and Aggron were surprised. "What the!?" The Poké Maniac exclaimed in surprise as he never expected something so little to stop his Aggron's Iron Tail. "Good job Bagon! Now use Ember!" The Pokémon Professor in training called out with an eager voice. "Bagon!" Bagon growled out, releasing a blast of fire from its mouth.

Due to Bagon still having a hold on Aggron's tail, Ember landed a direct hit and engulfed the Iron Armor Pokémon in flames, covering it from view. Aggron cried out in pain from taking a direct hit, something that made its trainer grit his teeth. "Aggron, shake that dragon off and throw it into the air!" Steve demanded, punching the air with his left fist. "Aggron agg!" The Rock and Steel type cried out as it spun around, causing the flames around it to disperse and threw Bagon into the air, much to the Dragon type's surprise.

"Bagon!" Sorrel called out in surprise, while Steve grinned at seeing the perfect opportunity. "Now, Ice Beam!" The long green haired boy commanded with excitement leaking out of the voice. Aggron cried out as it looked up towards the air born Bagon, then opened its mouth and formed a ball of light blue energy in front of it. Sorrel and Lucario narrowed their eyes in alarm at seeing the Iron Armor Pokémon preparing an Ice type move, before the human acted. "Bagon, use Roar!" The Sinnoh resident commanded, catching the panicking Dragon type's attention as it stopped spinning and gazed down towards its opponent.

"BAGON!" The Rock Head Pokémon roars savagely at its opponent, causing Aggron to widen its eyes. The Rock and Steel type then turned into a red beam, before heading straight towards Steve and went inside his pants, much to Steve's surprise. Before he could say anything, a white beam shot out and struck the ground in front of him. It cleared to reveal Steve's Ampharos, which let out an energetic cry. "Ha!" Sorrel laughed out, while Lucario grinned as Bagon landed in front of them in its feet. The Dragon type smirked at its new opponent, while Steve looked a bit annoyed.

"So what! Ampharos can still win! Use Thunder!" The Poké Maniac commanded, which the Light Pokémon cried out as its body became surrounded in yellow electricity. It then fired a large bolt of yellow electricity from its body towards Bagon, landing a direct hit on the Dragon type as it was zapped. Bagon shut its eyes from the powerful Electric type move, yet kept on its feet.

"Stay strong Bagon! Dragon Breath, now!" Sorrel commanded, keeping his belief in the Dragon type strong. Bagon opened its eyes and cried out as it released a light blue fiery blast from its mouth at Ampharos. "Dodge it!" Steve ordered, now having a smirk displayed on his face. The Light Pokémon gave a cry in response as the yellow electricity surrounding its body disappeared, before leaping to the side. Bagon's Dragon Breath struck the ground and created an explosion, while the electricity attack Bagon itself died down, yet sparks were briefly appearing around the Dragon type, a sign of it being paralyzed.

Sorrel slightly narrowed his eyes at seeing this, while Lucario looked worried for his new friend. Ampharos landed on its feet and smirked at its smaller opponent, who just glared at it. Steve laughed out at seeing the tables turn to his side. The Pokémon Professor in training held out his Nest Ball towards the Rock Head Pokémon. "Bagon, return for now". Sorrel told the Dragon type, firing a red beam from the device's center that made contact with Bagon's back. The Dragon type soon was engulfed in a red light, before it shot out and returned to the Nest Ball.

Sorrel tapped the center, causing the device to shrink, before putting it away in his coat's pocket. Instead of bringing out another ball device, Sorrel turned to look at Lucario and gave the Aura Pokémon a nod. Lucario grinned with anticipation at it finally being his chance to battle. The Steel and Fighting type immediately began charging towards Ampharos, while the Electric type glared at its new opponent. "Use Thunder again!" Steve commanded, still displaying a confident smirk.

Ampharos cried out as its body was once more surrounded in yellow electricity. It then fired a large bolt of yellow electricity from its body towards the approaching Lucario. Sorrel swiped his right hand out, pointing forward with the index finger. "Use Bone Rush to defend, and then attack". The Sinnoh resident calmy commanded without a shred of concern. Lucario brought its paws up and then together, before spreading them apart, creating a light green bone of energy. He then held it out and began spinning it very fast, like a helicopter's blade, deflecting the yellow electricity.

"Huh!?" Steve gasped out in surprise at seeing this. Lucario drew closer to Ampharos, still deflecting Thunder with Bone Rush, until he was right in front of the Electric type. Lucario took hold of the energy bone with both hands, before he swung and struck.

Kablam!

Lucario landed a direct hit and passed through the Light Pokémon, stopping 5 feet away from Ampharos with the energy bone held out in a striking position. Ampharos gasped out in pain as it fell to its right knee and closed its eyes as the hit was super effective against him. Steve gritted his teeth in anger at seeing this, before swiping his left hand out. "Use Fire Punch and fight back!" Ampharos' trainer commanded, refusing to give up the battle. The Light Pokémon opened its eyes and growled as it brought its left fist, before it was covered in flames.

"Dodge, and then Aura Sphere". Sorrel commanded as he crossed his arms, making Lucario grin. Ampharos leaped off its feet towards Lucario with its flaming fist reared back, however the Aura Pokémon leaped into the air. Ampharos' Fire Punch struck the ground, before the Electric type gazed up into the air towards Lucario. The Aura Pokémon was gazing down towards the Electric type as the energy bone in its hands dispersed. He then put his paws together and created a dark blue ball of energy in between them.

Lucario then fired the Aura Sphere down at Ampharos, who wasn't quick enough to dodge and got hit clean, creating an explosion. "Ampharos!" Steve cried out in worry for his Light Pokémon, while Lucario fell and landed on the ground in a crouch. The Aura Pokémon hummed as it looked towards the smoke created from his attack as it slowly cleared. Ampharos was lying down on its back, moaning with swirls in its eyes.

The Poké Maniac grunted, while Sorrel nodded in approval. Lucario stood up on his feet fully, before he began walking towards Sorrel as Steve brought out his Great Ball and held it out. "Ampharos, return!" The boy called out, recalling the defeated Electric type to the device, just as Lucario stopped 3 feet in front of Sorrel and turned around. Steve spared a moment to gaze down towards the device in hand, before putting it away. He then brought out his enlarged Dusk Ball. "Go, Aggron!" The young boy called out, tossing the device it.

The Dusk Ball burst open and released a bluish white beam that struck the ground, before it cleared to reveal Steve's Aggron with the Rock and Steel type crying out proudly. "Double-Edge!" Steve commanded, pointing forward with his right hand's index finger. "Aggron!" The Rock and Steel type roared out as it became surrounded in streaks of white aura and then charged towards Lucario. "A straight up approach, huh? Lucario, stop it". Sorrel told the Fighting and Steel type, which Lucario nodded in response. "Rrraaa". The Aura Pokémon growled, before bringing up his paws and held them out.

Aggron rammed right into Lucario, yet the Aura Pokémon didn't move an inch as the attack wasn't very effective. Heck, Lucario managed to stop Aggron in its tracks. Steve gritted his teeth at seeing this, while Sorrel smirked a bit. However, a sudden pulse of aura energy caught the Sinnoh resident's attention.

(Music end/ Play Opening (TV Anime Ver). - Pokémon (2019)/Pokémon Journeys OST - Yuki Hayashi)

He looked towards Lucario and saw something surprising. The Aura Pokémon was holding Aggron back, yet his body was covered in a blue coloured aura, as if Lucario's aura was growing stronger. "Huh? What's going on?" Sorrel questioned in wonder, having never seen this before. Sorrel's opponent didn't seem to notice the strange phenomenon, or likely didn't care as his only focus was on victory. "Body Press!" Steve commanded, something that made Sorrel widen his eyes in alarm. Aggron cried out as it, surprisingly, jumped into the air, before falling towards Lucario.

The Aura Pokémon stared up at the falling Rock and Steel type without a shred of fear, its aura coat growing more powerful. Sorrel turned towards his best friend and kept silent, wanting to see just what Lucario intended to do. "Rrrrraaaaahhhhh...!" Lucario growled out as he reared his arms back, before the aura coat expanded until its body became covered in a blue aura. The Fighting and Steel type thrust his paws upwards towards the falling Aggron, before leaping up towards it. Sorrel widened his eyes in realization as he now recognized what Lucario was doing.

'Of course! Lucario's learning a new move! Meteor Mash!' The Pokémon Professor in training exclaimed inside his mind, then grew an eager smirk that his partner now had a new move. Unlike Aggron's slow falling, Lucario's speed was fast as he drew closer towards the Rock and Steel type. The two eventually clashed, struggling against one another for a few seconds, until they both exploded. The explosion left a smoke screen in the air with both Sorrel and Steve staring up at it. Eventually, something leaped out of it, while another fell from the smokescreen.

The thing that leaped was revealed to be Lucario, no longer coated in a blue aura, who landed on his feet in front of Sorrel. The other was Aggron, who crashed hard on the ground on its back. Fortunately for Steve, it wasn't unconscious yet as Aggron managed to get back on his feet. The Rock and Steel type flinched as Meteor Mash did some damage to it, before glaring towards Lucario. Unlike its opponent, Lucario appeared to only be a bit damaged as a few scrapes were visible on its body, but didn't seem too damaged.

"If we're going down, then we're going down fighting! Aggron, Ice Beam!" Steve roared out, throwing both fists into the air. Aggron cried out, opening its mouth and formed a ball of light blue energy in front of it. It then fired light blue beams of energy from the ball towards Lucario, yet the Aura Pokémon kept a calm face. "We've wasted enough time, we've got somewhere to be. Lucario, finish it with Aura Sphere!" Sorrel commanded, bringing his hands together and then thrust them out as if he was the one firing an Aura Sphere.

"Rah!" Lucario cried as he spread his legs out, and then brought both paws together. The Aura Pokémon created a dark blue ball of energy in between his paws, before thrusting both paws out and fired the Aura Sphere. The blue ball of energy and blue beams connected with one another, before Aura Sphere blasted through Ice Beam and continued on to Aggron. Aura Sphere landed a clean strike, creating an explosion that covered the Rock and Steel type from view. "My Aggron!" Steve exclaimed with wide eyes, slamming both hands on his head.

The smoke from the explosion quickly cleared and revealed the Iron Armor Pokémon unconscious on its back. "Agg...ron..." Aggron groaned out, swirls in its eyes as it could not battle anymore. Steve looked like a gapping fish at seeing Aggron defeated, keeping both hands on his head. He then fell to his knees, before releasing a loud cry of "No!", something that made Sorrel raise an eyebrow. 'Judging from the way he is acting; I'm guessing he doesn't have any Pokémon left. Guess that means I'm the winner of this battle'. The Pokémon Professor in training thought to himself, recognizing Steve's actions as someone that lost the battle.

(Music end)

The Poké Maniac anime bounced onto his feet, holding out his enlarged Dusk Ball out towards Aggron with the right hand. Wordlessly, he recalled the Iron Armor Pokémon to the device, before gazing towards Sorrel with a determined expression. "I'll come back and battle you again someday! And I will win!" Steve exclaimed with a strong voice, before immediately turning tail and took off. Sorrel and Lucairo watched him go, before they looked at one another with the human boy giving the Aura Pokémon an impressed smile.

"Colour me impressed. I wasn't expecting you to learn a new move, but it's not an unwanted surprise". The Pokémon Professor in training told his closest friend, getting a grin and chuckle from Lucario as it held up its left paw. "Ra ra". The Fighting and Steel type replied to his trainer, honestly surprised himself as the move just came to him like someone walking without noticing. Sorrel brought out his Pokédex, opened and activated it, scanning Lucario to see what move he replaced for Meteor Mash.

He quickly found out that Metal Claw was the one replaced, a move that Sorrel didn't have a problem with replacing. "So, Metal Claw's gone, and Meteor Mash has taken over, huh? Well, that's not a problem". The Sinnoh resident stated, closing the device and put it back in his coat. Sorrel then turned to look at Lucario with a small serious expression.

"I think we've practice and trained hard enough for now. If we still want to make it to the Pokémon Contest, now would be a good time to go". Sorrel said to the Fighting and Steel type, figuring that they've been out here long enough and that it was time to head towards the contest. Lucario nodded his head in understanding, agreeing that they've spent more time than necessary training, and that they should head back now.

Sorrel began to turn around, but stopped upon catching sight of something with his left eye. He looked and saw that it was a Pokémon which resembled an oversized, pale purple scorpion. Its claws and tail have been swapped, giving it two stingers and a claw tail. The miniature jaws, claws, and tail claws were white. Its arms are attached directly to its head, close to its teal eyes. A pointed marking joins its eyes. The head, arms, two tail segments, and all four legs are light blue, while the body, tail end, and other two tail segments are a darker shade of blue.

'A Skorupi?' The Sinnoh resident questioned inside of his mind, recognizing the Pokémon as one from his home region. Skorupi crawled around a bit, going deeper into the forest, while Sorrel narrowed his eyes, before he began walking after the Poison and Bug type. Lucario watched Sorrel for a moment, before following the 12-year-old boy. The Aura Pokémon knew what his partner intended to do, and while he was a bit disappointed that Sorrel got sidetracked like that, he just intended to help Sorrel. Hopefully they'll be done quick and make it in time for the Pokémon Contest.

(Back at the Fallarbor Pokémon Contest)

In the waiting room of the contest, May sat down on a bench, looking up at a small monitor up above as it showed the last performance of the first round. She wasn't alone as Ash, Verity, Brock, Max, Pikachu, Jirachi and Piplup were all standing in front of her, looking up at the monitor as well. They had come in earlier to praise May for her performance, but had decided to watch the rest of the first round with her.

"Only four contestants can go on to the second round. This contest really is different from the Slateport one". Ash remarked with his arms crossed, comparing this contest to the one May entered before where Verity had won her third ribbon. Speaking of the Twinleaf girl, Verity turned to look at her fellow Pokémon Coordinator, before taking a seat besides the dressed-up brunette. "Don't worry about it. Out of all the participates; you, Drew, Grace and Jessibella were the ones that scored the highest points. I'm fairly confident that you four will make it to the second round". Verity told the Petalburg girl, which May gave the Twinleaf girl an appreciated smile.

The two then turned to look up at the monitor as Piplup jumped onto Verity's lap and sat down comfortably. "Okay ladies and gentlemen, we're down to the final contestant. How many points did he score?" Vivian said from inside the monitor as the last Pokémon Coordinator took their turn. "May, you've got 27.6 points I think. Hopefully, that'll be enough". Max said to his sister, yet didn't turn to face her as his focus was on the monitor. It showed the three judges giving out the score, which was 8.6, 8.7 and 8.5. It then showed the large screen in the main stage, which showed the total score being 25.8.

"A total of 25.8!" Vivian called out as the large monitor got rid of the points, leaving a black screen. "And that means these four contestants will be competing in the second round". The female announced added as the screen displayed 4 photos, showing Jessibella, Grace, May and Drew. The crowd cheered at seeing this, while the gang all smiled happily with May even standing up from the bench. "May, you did it!" The Rainbow Hero exclaimed in joy for his second girlfriend's success to making it to round 2.

"You're moving on to round 2". Brock stated with a proud smile. "Pika!" Pikachu cried out happily, throwing both hands into the air. Jirachi began laughing in a happy manner as he floated off of the ground and into the air. May looked stunned at first, before growing a wide smile as she held up her fists to express the delight she was experiencing. "Cool! I made it! Yeah!" The brunette exclaimed, thrusting the right fist into the air. Verity and Piplup giggled as they looked at the excited brunette.

"All that's left now is for you to battle and win. If you can do that twice, you'll have your first ribbon". The Twinleaf girl told May, catching her attention as she looked at the more experienced Pokémon Coordinator. The Petalburg girl grinned with confidence as she held up her left fist. "You just leave it to me! At the end of the day, I'll be standing at the stage with the Fallarbor ribbon in my hands!" May exclaimed with confidence, something that made the whole gang smile at her. "No way". A muffled voice said, catching everyone's attention as they looked, and cried out in surprise and comical fear.

Standing right behind the bench that Verity was sitting on was some kind of mummy, comically glaring at May. "Cacnea may have turned me into a human pin cushion, but I'm the one that's going to the final stage and taking home that ribbon". The "mummy" told the gang, voice muffled because of the bandages. "W-who is this scary lady?!" Max questioned with an alarmed voice at the "mummy" before them. The "mummy" scoffed as she grabbed hold of the bandages around her, and pulled them off in a dramatic style, revealing herself to be Jessibella.

"I'm Empress Coordinator, Jessibella!" The disguised Jessie introduced herself dramatically with a pose, getting deadpan faces from the group. "You're back on your feet quicker than I expected". May said as she placed both hands against her hips. "Nothing can keep me from my prize, little girl. I hope you packed your bags, because I'm gonna be sending you crying home to mommy". Jessibella said to the young girl, causing May to narrow her eyes at the older woman. 'I'm gonna enjoy beating her'. The brunette thought to himself, now a bit angered at what Jessibella said.

(A little later)

On the main stage of the Pokémon Contest, May and Jessibella stood across each other. The judges sat behind their podiums with Vivian nearby, while the audience, including Ash, Verity, Brock, Max, James and Meowth all sat down on their seats. The large monitor displayed its usual 5 minute time limit. It also showed the pictures of May and Jessibella and the two points bars, acting as health bars for both Pokémon Coordinators.

"For round 2, contestants will begin battling! They will only have 5 minutes to execute their attacks gracefully and take as many points from their opponent as possible". Vivian explained to the people of Fallarbor Town watching the battle. May and Jessibella were silent as they stared at one another with narrowed eyes, both ready to battle with the intention to win.

With the gang, they all sat with frowning expressions on their faces for the battle about to take place. Meanwhile at the entrance to the hall, Sorrel and Lucario came running out and stopped right at the top of the staircase, both gasping for air. "Haaa...haaa...we made it..." The Pokémon Professor in training gasped out, resting both hands on top of his knees as he spoke. Lucario gave a low growl in response to his trainer, before the two looked down towards the stage and saw May standing across Jessibella.

Sorrel gave a sigh of relief at seeing they hadn't missed May's battle yet, but then a sound caught both his and Lucario's attention. "Klef...ki". A gentle voice said from above, before the two partners looked up and saw the same mystery Pokémon that had been watching May yesterday. Sorrel widened his eyes in surprise as he knew what this Pokémon was. "A Klefki!" The Sinnoh resident whispered in shock at seeing the Kalos Pokémon here in Hoenn, especially in a place like this contest.

The Steel and Fairy type didn't turn its attention on Sorrel or Lucario, instead just stared at May with great focus and admiration. Before Sorrel and Lucario could call out to the Key Ring Pokémon, Vivian spoke on her microphone again. "Ladies and gentlemen, direct your eyes towards stage 1 for match 1!" The female announcer called out as the time limit began counting down, beginning the match.

Time limit: 5.00 = 4.59.

May points: 100.

Jessibella points: 100.

(Play Kanto Trainer Battle ll - Pokémon (Anime) music extended)

Jessibella brought out an enlarged Luxury Ball with her right hand and held it close to her face with a smirk. "Go, Gothita!" The disguised Team Rocket member called out, tossing the device forward. The Luxury ball burst open and released a bluish white beam into the air, which quickly cleared to reveal the Fixation Pokémon. "Gothita!" The Psychic type called out full of energy, ready to battle as it landed on the ground on its two feet.

"Combusken, take the stage!" May cried out, bringing out an enlarged Poké Ball with her right hand and then tossed it out. It burst open and released a bluish white beam in the air, clearing to reveal the brunette's evolved starter Pokémon. "Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out with confidence, landing on her feet in a perfect landing. Both Combusken and Gothita glared towards their opponents, ready to battle with the intention to win.

"So, May decided to go with Combusken for the second round, huh? I guess it would make sense since she was May's first Pokémon". Verity remarked with an intrigued expression, arms wrapped around her Piplup who was seated comfortable on her lap. "But May's opponent is using a Gothita, a Psychic type that has an advantage over a Fighting type like Combusken". Max pointed out with a worried look, as May didn't have the type advantage in this battle. "Have faith in her. I'm certain May's got this covered". The Rainbow Hero told the younger male, his eyes showing how eager he was to watch this battle.

"Gothita, Shock Wave now!" Jessibella commanded with a confident smile displayed. "Goth...ita!" The Psychic type cried out as it leaped into the air, and then fired a blue beam of electricity from both of its hands. Shock Wave descended down towards Combusken, who was looking up at the blue electricity. "Combusken, use Fire Spin and aim for the ground in front of you!" May called out with a serious voice, which the Fire and Fighting type nodded to its trainer.

"Combusken com!" The Young Fowl Pokémon exclaimed as she opened her mouth and released a spiraling flame from its mouth at the ground on front of it. Fire Spin struck the ground, before creating a wall of fire that erupted in front of Combusken. Shock Wave clashed against the wall of fire, yet was unable to break through. "Brilliant! Using an attack move like Fire Spin to defend! Now that's impressive!" Vivian called out with wide eyes, amazed at May's use of Combusken's move.

Jessibella points: 100 - 90.

Both the wall of fire and blue beam of electricity died down, right before Gothita fell down to the ground and landed on its feet. "We've got more tricks where that came from. Combusken, use Focus Energy and then attack with Fire Spin!" May called out, holding her right hand up and then swiped it out to the side. "Combusken com-busken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out as her body became briefly covered in an orange glow, before it quickly died down and then released a spiraling flame once more towards Gothita.

"We're well prepared for this! Use Confusion and sent it right back at that chicken!" Jessibella commanded, thrusting her left hand into the air. "Gothhh..." The Psychic type said slowly, eyes beginning to glow pale red and its body becomes outlined in pale red as well. The spiraling flame gained a red outline, before it changed directions and began heading towards Combusken. "Gothita has taken control of Fire Spin and is using it against Combusken!" Vivian said with a wide smile, amazed at how Combsuken's attack was being used against itself.

May points: 100 - 95.

May reared her hands up and brought them into a cross. "Combusken, charge through with Aerial Ace!" The brunette called out, swiping both of her arms out to the side. "Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out as she began charging forward with its beak out, and then Combusken's body became surrounded by white streaks of energy. The Fire and Fighting type came into contact with the red outlined spiraling flames, and began pushing through it, as if the controlled flames couldn't didn't hurt at all.

Jessibella gasped in surprise, while May grinned at the sight. "Talk about spunk! Combusken's fighting through a Fire Spin powered up by Confusion as if it were nothing!" Vivian called out on her microphone in amazement, something that the audience shared at this amazing display of strong spirit. "Hurry, dodge while you still can!" The disguised Jessie commanded the Fixation Pokémon, panicking a little bit from the unexpected development. "Gothita!" The Psychic type exclaimed, eyes and body ceasing glowing as it leaped into the air to escape danger.

"I don't think so!" The Petalburg girl called out with a confident grin, right before Combusken leaped into the air towards Gothita and struck the Psychic type hard with Aerial Ace, hitting right at its stomach with the beak. "What!?" Jessibella gasped out in surprise at seeing Combusken land a successful attack, even when she ordered Gothita to dodge. "Gothita tried to dodge, but Aerial Ace is a move that never misses! Because of this, Jessibella loses points big time!" The female announcer called out on her microphone as points were subtracted from Jessibella's bar.

Jessibella points: 90 - 65.

Jessibella gritted her teeth in frustration at seeing this, while Gothita was sent flying into the air Combusken's Aerial Ace. "I'm not gonna lose this after all I've went through to come this far! Gothita, use Pound and spin!" The disguised female Team Rocket member commanded, pointing forward with the right hand's index finger. Gothita opened her eyes and gave a grin. "Goth...gothita". The Psychic type said with an eager voice, holding her hands out as they began glowing yellow. Gothita then begin spinning so fast, creating a yellow ring of energy around itself thanks to Pound.

The Psychic type then spun around in the air, coming right up towards the still air born Combusken and landed a direct hit up its chin, getting the Young Fowl Pokémon to cry out in pain. "Oh no, Combusken!" May called out in concern as Combusken came crashing down on the ground on its back, while Gothita spun down to the ground safely and ceased spinning with its hands no longer glowing. "Gothita came back with a vengeance, landing a spinning Pound attack on Combusken!" Vivian said with an impressed smile on her face at seeing the comeback of Gothita.

May points: 95 - 80.

Combusken climbed back onto its feet and glared towards Gothita, who was smirking arrogantly at the Fire and Fighting type. "We're not done just yet! Gothita, use Confusion to keep that chicken immobilize on the ground!" Jessibella ordered, thrusting her left hand forward with the index finger out. "Gothhh..." The Psychic type said slowly, eyes beginning to glow pale red and its body becomes outlined in pale red as well. Combusken's body gained a red outline, before almost being forcefully slammed down on the ground, but lucky managed to only fall to the knees with both hands placed down, supporting herself.

May points: 80 - 65.

"We got them right where we want them now! Shadow Ball!" The disguised Jessie commanded, laughing after finishing her sentence. "Gothita!" The Fixation Pokémon cried out, before leaping high into the air once more. Gothita then put its hands together in front of its body and a black and dark purple orb of energy forms in between them. The Psychic type then fired the Shadow Ball down towards the struggling kneeling form of Combusken. "Here comes a strong Shadow Ball! This is gonna hurt if it hits!" Vivian called out on her microphone as Shadow Ball drew closer to the Fire and Fighting type.

Fortunately, May had a solution in mind to get out of this situation. "Combusken, use Fire Spin on the ground to hurl yourself into the air!" The brunette commanded, throwing her right hand into the air. Combusken narrowed its eyes as she looked down at the ground and unleashed another spiraling flame at the ground right below it, resulting in the Young Fowl Pokémon being lifted off of the ground and the Shadow Ball striking the flames instead, dispersing into black and purple sparkles.

As Combusken was being lifted into the air by its Fire Spin attack, the red outline surrounding its body disappeared as she was freed from Confusion. The female Fire and Fighting type then ceased using Fire Spin, now in the same altitude as Gothita, much to its surprise. "Goth-goth!?" The Psychic type exclaimed in surprise, while Combusken gave a smirk at its opponent. "Sky Uppercut now!" May called out with a wide smile, thrusting her right fist up in an uppercut. "Com-bus-ken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out, right claw glowing light blue as she drew closer towards Gothita.

Combusken then landed a clean strike on the Psychic type, causing Gothita to cry out in pain with both eyes shut. Jessibella gasped out in comical surprise as Gothita fell and crashed on the ground, kicking up a small bit of dust while Combusken landed in a kneeling position on its right knee. "And Sky Uppercut strikes! A Fighting type move like that may not be very effective against Gothita, but it can still deal damage, especially with Focus Energy's effects still in affect". Vivian said with a wide smile as the crowd cheered in excitement at the battle between May and Jessibella.

Jessibella points: 65 - 45.

"We're not through just yet! Gothita, use Shock Wave, and then Confusion to power it up!" Jessibella commanded the Fixation Pokémon, refusing to accept defeat even now with the odds against her. Gothita raised up on its feet, before opening her eyes and glared towards Combusken. "Goth...ita!" The Psychic type cried out as it fired a blue beam of electricity from both of its hands. The Psychic type's eyes then began to glow pale red with its body gaining an outline of the same colour.

The blue beam of electricity gained a pale red outline as well, before splitting into multiple homing attacks, all heading towards Combusken. "Oh, my! A combination attack of Shock Wave and Confusion!" The female announcer called out in surprise, having not expected a combination attack of Shock Wave and Confusion.

May points: 65 - 55.

May slightly narrowed her eyes, before thrusting her right hand out. "If they're gonna use a combo attack, then we'll use one as well! Combusken, use a combination of Fire Spin and Aerial Ace to defend and attack!" The Petalburg girl cried out, deciding to use one of Combusken's combo attacks to counterattack. "Com-bus-ken!" The female Young Fowl Pokémon cried out, opening her mouth with a ball of fire inside. She then shoots out a vortex of fire forward, before closing her mouth. Combusken's body then became surrounded by white streaks of energy, before charging forward.

The Young Fowl Pokémon leaped into the vortex of fire, stopping right at the end with its beak poking out. The white streaks of energy surrounding the body of Combusken changed colours into an orange red, right before the homing blue beams of electricity struck the vortex of fire surrounding the Fire and Fighting type. However, the vortex of fire surprisingly acted as a shield for Combusken, protecting her from the homing Shock Wave attack.

The multiple blue beams of electricity and vortex of fire surrounding Combusken all died down, leaving the Young Fowl Pokémon unprotected for the moment, but it wasn't a problem. Combusken glided in and landed another hit on Gothita, pushing the Psychic type off its feet and flying through the air. "Amazing! Fire Spin acted as a shield that protected Combusken from Shock Wave, allowing it to land another Aerial Ace attack!" The female announced exclaimed in amazement, while the crowd cheered for the Petalburg girl.

Jessibella points: 45 - 30.

Gothita crashed on the ground on its back, but quickly bounced anime style back onto its feet. "Gothita!" The Psychic type cried out strongly, as she refused to accept defeat just yet. "That's the spirit, we're not losing this battle! Shadow Ball, go!" Jessibella ordered with a demanding voice. "Gothita!" The Fixation Pokémon cried out, putting its hands together in front of its body as a black and dark purple orb of energy formed in between them. Gothita then fired Shadow Ball towards Combusken, which the Young Fowl Pokémon narrowed its eyes at the approaching attack.

"Send it right back with Fire Spin!" May commanded, holding her right hand out towards her starter. "Com-bus-ken!" The female Young Fowl Pokémon cried out, opening her mouth with a ball of fire inside. She then shoots out a vortex of fire forward, which collided against the black and dark purple orb of energy. The two attacks struggled against one another, before the vortex of fire began pushing Shadow Ball towards Gothita, much to the Psychic type's panic.

"Oh, not gonna happen! Gothita, use Confusion on yourself to dodge!" Jessibella ordered, pointing up towards the sky with her right hand's index finger. "Gothhh..." The Psychic type said slowly, eyes beginning to glow pale red and its body becomes outlined in pale red as well. The Psychic type then flew high into the air via confusion, dodging the Fire Spin powered Shadow Ball, which struck the ground and created an explosion, leaving a smokescreen.

May points: 55 - 50.

The smoke covered the battlefield, concealing Combusken from view, while Gothita, still using Confusion, remained floating above the field. "Nice try, but it'll take more than that to defeat my Gothita. I'll give you an A for effort". The disguised Jessie taunted with a smirk, yet May didn't seem bothered by it at all as she was smirking herself. "And whoever I said that I was done?" The brunette questioned the older woman, getting Jessibella to blink in surprise. "Combusken, Sky Uppercut one more time!" May exclaimed, rearing her right fist in, and then thrust it up into the air.

Suddenly without warning, the Young Fowl Pokémon shot out of the smokescreen towards Gothita's floating form. "Combusken! Com!" Combusken cried out with confidence, rearing her right hand in as the claws began glowing light blue. Gothita was too slow to react in time as the Fire and Fighting type swiped its right claw up, and...

Kablam!

Landed a powerful uppercut attack, dealing a big amount of damage to the Fixation Pokémon. "And Combusken lands another clean blow on Gothita!" Vivian called out on her microphone, much to the audience's excitement as Jessibella lost more points.

Jessibella points: 30 - 15.

Gothita lost its concentration on Confusion, resulting in the red outline across its body disappearing, before it began falling down towards the ground and crashed down in front of its trainer. Combusken, on the other hand, back flipped in mid-air before making a perfect landing on its feet. Jessibella gritted her teeth in frustration, but just as she was about to issue another order to attack, a loud beep caught her attention. She looked over towards the large monitor and saw, much to her horror, the time limit had run out.

"And that's it, ladies and gentlemen! Time's up! With a large lead, the winner of the match and advancing on to the second round is...May and her Combusken!" Vivian called out as the screen showed pictures of May and Combusken with the words "Winner" under them.

Winner: May and Combusken!

(Music end)

The crowd erupted in cheers for the Petalburg girl and her Young Fowl Pokémon for their victory, causing May and Combusken to smile brightly. "Alright!" The brunette exclaimed in triumph, thrusting her right hand into the air to express her joy at winning. "Combusken!" The Fire and Fighting type cried out in joy, also thrusting her hand into the air. Ash, Verity, Brock, Max, Pikachu, Piplup and Jirachi stared down at the two partners with proud expressions for winning and advancing on to the finals.

Even Sorrel and Lucario had pleased smiles at seeing the brunette's victory, but their attention shifted towards Klefki as the Fairy and Steel type was crying out in a cheer for May and Combusken. The Pokémon Professor in training raised an eyebrow in wonder at the Key Ring Pokémon's sudden joy. 'Did it...come here to watch May perform?' Sorrel questioned inside of his mind, realizing that this might be a clue to why the wild Pokémon was here in a place with so many people. He gave a small shrug of his shoulders, before looking back towards the stage.

Gothita sat up from the ground, before looking down with sad eyes that she and her trainer had lost. The Psychic type felt ashamed of itself that she wasn't able to win a battle that she had the advantage over the opponent. Jessibella was silent as she walked up towards her Fixation Pokémon, before stopping right behind Gothita. She crouched down, before reaching out with her hands and gently took hold of Gothita's sides. Jessibella lifted the Psychic type up, and then turned her around to face her and placed Gothita back on the ground.

The Fixation Pokémon lifted its head and gave a confused look at Jessibella, who was smiling down at her gently. "Don't worry, you did spectacular out there. We may not have won, but you're a winner in my books". The disguised Jessie told Gothita, reaching out with her right hand and gently pat the Psychic type's head. Gothita widened its eyes in heartfelt surprise at Jessie's words, before slowly beginning to cry anime tears in its eyes. With a cry of its name, Gothita leaped off of the ground and gave its trainer a hug similar to the one Cacnea gave Jessibella, one that the disguised female Team Rocket member returned.

With James and Meowth, they both had simple smiles on their faces as they stared down at their teammates. "Well, she gave it the good old try. And gave the twerp's new friend a run for her money". The blue haired male said with a proud smile directed at Jessie. "There's always next time, but until then, we gotta train harder". Meowth said with an eager grin, bringing up his right paw to represent how eager he was. One thing was for certain for Team Rocket; their training would intensify.

(Later on in the contest)

The Fallarbor Pokémon Contest continued after May's victory against Jessibella. The battle between Drew and Grace was up next with the winner advancing on to the finals and battling May. Drew went with his Roselia, while Grace used her Medicham, the same Pokémon they used in the first round. Much to the surprise of May and the gang, the battle was one-sided as Grace and Medicham "slaughtered" Drew and Roselia without mercy, getting the win easily. Drew showed good sportsmanship, accepting his defeat with honour.

Now, it was time for the finals of the Fallarbor Pokémon Contest with May facing off against Grace now. May stood on the left side of the battlefield, while Grace was on the right. The crowd was cheering in excitement for the two Pokémon Coordinators, while Ash and the gang were silent as they watched. Sorrel, Lucario and the Klefki were still watching from the entrance, only now the Veilstone boy was leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.

Meanwhile outside of the Pokémon Contest, the members of Team Rocket were all walking down the street with Jessie in the lead, back in her outfit. "Ya sure dat ya wanna left before the contest ends?" Meowth questioned his teammate, walking right behind Jessie and beside James. The female adult looked over her left shoulder towards the Scratch Cat Pokémon, flashing a smirk at him. "Of course I'm certain. Sticking around isn't gonna help us in getting better. We could use this time doing something useful, like training for instance". Jessie answered the Normal type, getting a nod from James as he agreed with her on that.

"Jessie's right! Let's get to training and become stronger! That way, she'll win the next contest she's in!" The former rich boy exclaimed with a smirk, bringing up his right fist. Jessie laughed out as she began running, closely followed by her two teammates as they headed off into the wilds to train.

"The Fallarbor chapter of the Pokémon Contest is drawing to a close. Get ready for the final victory battle!" Vivian called out on her microphone, getting excited cheers from the people of Fallarbar town as they looked forward to this last battle. May and Grace were silent as they stared at one another, no words needed to be spoken. 'Don't think for a second that I'll be holding back, May. A battle is a battle'. Grace said inside of her mind, having no intention to go easy on May in this battle since she fought to win.

'I've worked so hard to get to this point. I will not lose'. May thought to herself, refusing to be defeated after all the hard work she's done training to win this Pokémon Contest. "It all comes down to this. Begin!" The female announcer exclaimed as the time limit began counting down.

Time limit: 5: 00 - 4: 59.

(Play Fight! (Hoenn) Elite Four - Pokémon (Anime) Music Extended)

"Combusken, take the stage!" The brunette girl called out, holding up an enlarged Poké Ball with her right hand and then tossed it out. It burst open and released a bluish white beam in the air, clearing to reveal the brunette's evolved starter Pokémon. "Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out with confidence, landing on her feet in a perfect landing. "Medicham, come on out!" Grace called out, twirling around with an enlarged Poké Ball in her right hand, before tossing the device. It burst open and released a white beam into the air, taking shape before clearing to reveal Medicham with its arms reared in.

"Medi-cham!" The Meditate Pokémon cried out, spreading its arms out to the sides, before landing on the ground on its feet across the Young Fowl Pokémon. "Sky Uppercut, Combusken!" May commanded, bringing her left hand up and then swiped it out to the side. "Com-bus-ken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out, right claw glowing light blue before charging towards the Fighting and Psychic type. "Combusken starts off with Sky Uppercut". Vivian said on her microphone, while Grace narrowed her eyes a bit. "Medicham, Meditate!" The red-haired woman called out, going with the safe approach for now.

"Medicham!" The Meditate Pokémon cried out, standing up on its left foot as it posed a little, before floating up into the air and dodged Combusken's Sky Uppercut attack. The Young Fowl Pokémon widened her eyes in surprise as her claw ceased glowing, before turning to its right and looked up at Medicham's floating form. "She used Meditate to dodge!?" May cried in surprise, as she didn't expect a move like that to be used in order to dodge. "Amazing! Medicham dodge that attack without breaking Meditate!" Vivian called out on her microphone as Medicham stared down at Combusken from up above.

"Medicham, use Ice Punch!" Grace ordered, now going on the attack. "Medicham! Medicham!" The Fighting and Psychic type called out, moving its arms and legs around, before lunging forward with its right fist glowing bluish-white. "Combusken, Fire Spin!" May commanded, throwing her open left hand out. "Com-bus-ken!" The female Young Fowl Pokémon cried out, opening her mouth with a ball of fire inside. She then shoots out a vortex of fire up towards Medicham, landing a direct hit and blasting the Meditate Pokémon up.

"Combusken's Fire Spin is right on target!" The female announcer called out as the vortex of fire dispersed, and Medicham began falling towards the ground. Max grew a grin as he thrust his right hand up to express his delight. "Awesome May!" The younger Maple sibling praised his sister, while Jirachi was laughing happily. "Keep that up, and they'll lose even more points". Brock stated, before taking notice of the serious expressions of Ash, Verity, Pikachu and Piplup as they watched. "It's too soon to get excited. The battle has only just begun after all". The Rainbow Hero said with a low voice, knowing that overconfidence will be the main cause of someone's downfall.

Grace didn't look threatened; she was smirking in fact. "It's not over yet, no way. Medicham, Confusion!" The red-haired female called out with belief in her Pokémon. Just as Medicham drew closer to the ground, its body became surrounded in light blue energy and stopped just right above it. "Medicham". The Fighting and Psychic type said with its hands clapped together as it floated above the ground and a few feet in front of May, who widened her eyes at seeing this. "Medicham is limiting the number of points it can lose by using Confusion on itself!" Vivian called out on her microphone, looking up at the monitor as it displayed Grace's loss of points.

Grace points: 100 - 95.

"Not bad, what do ya think May?" Grace questioned her opponent with a confident grin displayed. "Honestly, it seemed too easy to be true". The brunette answered, a hint of disappointment in her voice at how good a chance that was, only to be ruined. "Oh well, we'll have to do this the old fashion way! Combusken, Focus Energy!" May called out, throwing her right hand into the air above. "Combusken com-busken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out as her body became briefly covered in an orange glow, before it quickly died down.

"And now with Focus Energy, Combusken's attacks will deal more damage than before!" The orange haired announcer called out on her microphone, while Grace narrowed her eyes a bit. "Medicham, Confusion!" The red-haired female commanded, wasting no time to attack. "Medi...cham!" Medicham cried out, thrusting both hands out towards Combusken as they both began to glow light blue energy. Combusken's body gained a light blue outline, before the Young Fowl Pokémon widened its eyes and cried out in surprise upon feeling her body unable to move.

"Great! Now, formally introduce Combusken to its new friend; the ground!" Grace told her Meditate Pokémon, pointing down at the ground with the right hand's index finger. "Medicham!" The Psychic and Fighting type cried out, rearing both hands up and then swiped them down. Combusken then shot up into the air, before slamming down on the ground hard on its front thanks to Medicham's Confusion attack.

"Combusken...!" The Young Fowl Pokémon groaned out, face planted on its right side and thankfully not face-flat. "And Medicham's Confusion worked! Combusken's stuck to the ground!" Vivian called out on her microphone as Combusken gritted her teeth. "May, let me know what you think of that defense". Grace said to the younger female, bringing up her right hand with the index finger out.

May points: 100 - 85.

"Hang in there Combusken!" May called out to her evolved starter with concern. "Com...busken". The Fire and Fighting type grunted, attempting to break free of Confusion's hold on her. "Combusken just can't break free of Confusion". Vivian said on her microphone, staring down at the Young Fowl Pokémon's struggling form. "Alright, Ice Punch go!" Grace commanded with a confident grin displayed. "Medicham-medicham-medicham-medicham!" The Psychic and Fighting type cried out, waving its fists around with its fist glowing bluish-white. It then fired a ball of ice, landing a direct hit on Combusken's back.

The Fire and Fighting type gasped, before being frozen in ice. "Combusken!" May gasped at seeing her beloved starter frozen in ice. "It's another direct hit with Ice Punch!" Vivian called out on her microphone as the three judges all seemed impressed. "That Ice Punch attack was as sparkly as the ice". Nurse Joy remarked, having found the Ice Punch sparkly to look at. "Wonderful". Mr. Contesta stated with a nod of his head. "Remarkable". Mr Sukizo commented, finding Grace and her Medicham impressive to watch.

May points: 85 - 50.

Despite the odds being against her, May kept her cool as she started towards her frozen starter Pokémon. "Break free, Combusken!" The brunette cried out, refusing to give up the battle. It seemed Combusken shared its trainer's strong desire to win as the ice it was encased in quickly shattered. "COMBUSKEN!" The Young Fowl Pokémon howled out as it got back on its feet and reared her arms up. "That's the way, good job". The Petalburg girl praised her starter, smiling in a pleased manner. "Com". Combusken replied to May, growing its own smirk.

"Time to finish up! Medicham, use Meditate!" Grace commanded with her smirk still displayed. "Me-di-cham cham-cham!" The Meditate Pokémon cried out, leaping into the air and doing body movements, before bringing both hands together. "And then, High Jump Kick!" The red-haired female added, getting another cry from Medicham as it leaped higher into the air, before diving down towards Combusken with its right knee out. Combusken looked up at its opponent as white energy erupted around Medicham's right knee.

"If that hits, it's over". Ash said with narrowed eyes, keeping his worried emotions for May hidden. "Combusken, dodge it!" May called out, keeping her cool and not allowing emotions to take control. "Combusken!" Combusken cried out, leaping up into the air and began spinning. The Young Fowl Pokémon spun right through the falling Medicham, before suddenly ceasing its spin and gazed down towards its opponent. "Fire Spin, let's go Combusken!" The brunette commanded, holding out her open left hand. "Com-bus-ken!" The female Young Fowl Pokémon cried out, opening her mouth with a ball of fire inside.

She then shoots out a vortex of fire down at Medicham, landing a clean hit on the Meditate Pokémon's back, causing it to cry out in pain as the white energy around Medicham's knee disappeared. "Cham-cham-cham!" The Fighting and Psychic type cried out in pain as Fire Spin pushed it down towards the ground with its right knee ramming into field. "Medicham". Medicham said as it managed to flip over onto its feet, only to gasp in pain from the intense pain in its right knee, falling onto it. The Meditate Pokémon placed its right hand on the ground in order to support itself.

Grace narrowed her eyes at Medicham in concern at seeing its pain. "Oh, no!" The young woman exclaimed, as this was a terrible sign of things going south for her. "A Fire Spin bullseye! Since Medicham's High Jump Kick was dodged. Medicham has just lost some serious points!" Vivian called out with a wide smile as Grace lost points, big time.

Grace points: 95 - 50.

"It's interesting how Medicham took even more damage when its High Jump Kick was dodged". Brock said with slightly narrowed eyes, while Verity had a smile of approvement directed at May. "It was the perfect opportunity to turn this battle around, and May took it perfectly". The Twinleaf girl remarked, before giving a small nod as she rubbed Piplup's head, much to the Water type's delight.

"Here's our chance! Combusken, Aerial Ace!" May commanded with a growing grin, holding up her right fist. "Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out as she began charging forward with its beak out, and then Combusken's body became surrounded by white streaks of energy. "Then Fire Spin!" The brunette added, swiping her hand out forward. Combusken opened its break and unleashed a vortex of fire, still maintaining Aerial Ace as it did so. Fire Spin drew closer to Medicham with white streaks of energy appearing around it, while the Psychic and Fighting type was still kneeling down on the right knee and right arm supporting its weight.

"Combusken launches into an Aerial Ace and Fire Spin combination!" The female announcer called out on her microphone as Fire Spin drew closer. Ash gave a smile at the sight of the battle going May's way. "Awesome. May's gotten used to combo attacks perfectly". The Rainbow Hero stated, proud to see May's growth as a Pokémon Trainer showing right now. "Medicham, Confusion!" Grace commanded with a now slightly alarmed voice. Medicham brought its right arm to the side, before crossing both it and the left one in front of itself, and then out towards the approaching vortex of fire.

"Medicham-medicham!" The Fighting and Psychic type cried out as its hands began glowing light blue. The vortex of fire gained a blue outline, before suddenly ceased drawing closer to the Meditate Pokémon. "Once again, Medicham's Confusion is stopping the flames". Vivian said on her microphone, staring at the vortex of fire spinning in the air. "Combusken, Fire Spin again but aim for the ground around Medicham!" May commanded, having a perfect solution in mind for this. Combusken ceased releasing the vortex of fire with the streaks of energy disappearing.

"Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon exclaimed as it leaped into the air, and then released a spiraling red-orange fire from its mouth. The spiraling flame struck the ground in front of Medicham, before it circled around the Fighting and Psychic type, trapping Medicham in a ring of fire. The scorching heat from the flames made Medicham groan as it lost its focus on the vortex of fire with the white streaks of energy. The combo attack continued on and landed a direct hit on the Meditate Pokémon, merging with the ring of fire and forming a red-orange tornado with white streaks of energy around Medicham.

"Adding a new Fire Spin with the old one formed a flaming tornado that's surrounding Medicham". The female announcer said on her microphone as Medicham cried out from inside the flaming tornado. "Aerial Ace, now!" May called out with a growing smirk, growing more confident by the second. "Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon cried out as she began falling down towards the flaming tornado with its beak out, before white streaks of energy appeared around it. She drove into the flaming vortex without any problem, and then...

Kablam!

Landing a clean strike on the Meditate Pokémon right on the chest, much to Medicham's pain. "Combusken is pulling off yet another perfect attack combination!" Vivian called out with an excited voice, just as the flaming tornado dispersed to reveal Medicham crashing onto the ground on its back, while Combusken leaped away. The Young Fowl Pokémon back flipped in mid-air and then landed on both of its feet, displaying a confident smirk.

Grace points: 50 - 25.

Grace gritted her teeth at how things went from great, to terrible for her. "Darn it. Medicham hasn't recovered from when they dodged the High Jump Kick". The red-haired female said with a frown, mentally kicking herself for getting carried away earlier. "Now we can finish this up. Combusken, Sky Uppercut!" May called out with a wide smile on her face. "Com..." The Fire and Fighting type said in a low voice as she brought up her right hand. The claws began glowing light blue, before Combusken swiped her claw out to the side and began charging towards Medicham again.

"Don't think you're gonna get away with a second strike. Medicham, dodge!" Grace called out towards her Meditate Pokémon, not giving up on winning. "Medicham... Medicham!" The Fighting and Psychic type called out, jumping back onto its feet and leaped into the air. "Fire Spin!" The Petalburg girl called out with an energetic voice as victory was drawing closer to her. "Combusken!" The Young Fowl Pokémon exclaimed, opening its break and unleashed a vortex of fire up towards the air born Medicham, landing a direct hit and engulfing the Meditate Pokémon inside of the Fire Spin.

"Medicham!" The Psychic and Fighting type cried out in pain from inside the vortex of fire. "It looks like Combusken's Fire Spin has not only caught Medicham, but has trapped it as well!" The female announcer called out with a wide smile, staring up at the fire trapped form of Medicham. Combusken cried out as it leaped into the air towards Medicham, before swiping its right claw up.

Kapow!

The Young Fowl Pokémon tore through the vortex of fire and landed a clean strike with Sky Uppercut, resulting in the Meditate Pokémon crying out in pain. "That combination of Sky Uppercut and Fire Spin creates one intense attack". Vivian commented as Medicham crashed onto the ground on its back. "Gorgeous technique". Nurse Joy said with an impressed smile displayed on her face. "That combination was impeccable". Mr. Contesta said with an approved nod of the head. "Yes, and remarkable too". Mr. Sukizo said in agreement, shaking his head sideways.

Grace Points: 25 - 5.

"There's less than a minute left on the clock". The female announcer stated, the monitor's time limit almost up and with it, the battle. "Oh man, May's gonna win. Come on clock, run out". Max said with an excited smile, looking right at the time limit. 'Go faster, clock!' Jirachi called out with an excited voice, waving both hands up into the air.

"Oh, this battle's just begun". Grace remarked, while Medicham got back on its feet and glared towards Combusken, who was now standing in front of May. "Medicham, turn it around with High Jump Kick!" The red-haired female commanded, betting it all on one last move. "Medicham! Medicham...!" The Psychic and Fighting type cried out, leaping into the air before it began diving down towards Combusken with its left knee out, coated in white energy.

"Betting it all on one last attack, huh? Okay, I'll play that game". May said with a confident grin as she held up her right fist. "Combusken, Aerial Ace go!" The brunette commanded, thrusting her fist out forward. "Combusken com!" Combusken cried out, before charging forward with its beak out, before streaks of white energy appeared around her. "Combusken is coming, head on with an Aerial Ace!" Vivian cried out on her microphone, right before the Young Fowl Pokémon leaped into the air towards the diving form of Medicham.

The two drew closer to one another, crying out as the distance shortened. The time limit was now half a minute with everyone holding their breath as Combusken and Medicham drew closer to one another, until they eventually met and clashed against one another with Aerial Ace and High Jump Kick. The collision created a bright white flash with the two opponents being blasted away from one another, crying out. "Unbelievable! A head-to-head collision!" The female announcer called out in surprise at the outcome.

Both Combusken and Medicham crashed down on the battlefield, groaning a bit. Before the two could even have a chance to get back up, the time limit reached its end.

Time limit: 1 - 0.

A buzz went off, signaling that the battle was over. "Our time is up. So, who is our winner?!" Vivian questioned as everyone looked at the monitor, which showed May with more points than Grace. The screen then changed to show pictures of both May and Combusken with the word "winner" underneath them.

Winner: May and Combusken!

(Music end)

May had wide of disbelief upon seeing her picture on the screen, the undeniable proof that she was the winner. Her travel companions were quick to accept this fact as Ash, Verity, Max, Pikachu, Piplup and Jirachi all cried out in cheers for May. "Alright!" Ash, Verity and Max cried out, throwing their right hands up forward. "Way to go!" Brock called out with a big smile at May's victory. 'Hooray!' Jirachi cried out with a happy expression. "Pikachu!/ Piplup!" Pikachu and Piplup exclaimed in joy for May's first contest victory. Even Sorrel and Lucario smiled in approval at their travel companion's victory, while Klefki gave a cry full of joy.

"And that's that! The winner of this year's Fallarbor Pokémon Contest is May! You did it!" Vivian called out, turning to look at the stunned brunette and held her right hand out towards the young girl. The people of Fallarbor Town all cheered for the Petalburg girl, while May seemed like she was finding it hard to believe she's won. "Wow... We've won. We beat Grace". The brunette said in a low voice, before blinking as Combusken walked up and stopped in front of its trainer. "Combusken". The Young Fowl Pokémon said to May, finally snapping her out of it as she gasped in surprise.

She then grew a joyful smile, bringing up her hands and then wrapped them around Combusken in a big hug. "Combusken...it's all thanks to you. I love you, you're the best". The brunette told the Young Fowl Pokémon, both her and Combusken having their eyes closed as they enjoyed the hug. "Com..." The Fire and Fighting type said softly, proud of herself for helping May win her first Pokémon Contest.

A little bit later, confetti was raining down on the stage as May was being awarded her prize. She stood in front of the three judges in the middle of the stage with Combusken and Shellos right beside her. "We now present our champions; May, Combusken and Shellos with the Fallarbor ribbon". Vivian said on her microphone, watching as Mr. Contesta held out the Fallarbor ribbon to May with both hands. "Congratulations". The judge congratulated the brunette as May gentle took the ribbon from him. She laughed happily, looking down at the ribbon in her hand for a moment, before looking back up at him.

"Thank you all so much". May thanked the judges, happiness leaking out of her voice. "Alright! This Fallarbor Ribbon is mine!" The brunette called out in joy, posing as she held the ribbon up with her right hand. "Combusken!/ Shellos!" Combusken and Shellos cried out with the Young Fowl Pokémon thrusting its right hand into the air. "That was a great battle, you two". A familiar voice said from behind May, catching the attention of her, Combusken and Shellos as they all turned to see Grace and Medicham standing behind them with the red-haired woman no longer wearing the Egyptian outfit and back in her casual outfit.

May gave a smile as she turned around to fully look at the red-haired female, bringing her hands together. "Thank you Grace". The Petalburg girl thanked the older female, sounding grateful. "It's true, I'm impressed". Grace told the younger girl, much to May's appreciation as she gave a nod of her head. "That's so nice, thanks. I owe my victory not just to Verity, but to you as well". The Petalburg girl replied to the red-haired female, getting Grace to blink at her. "Huh?" Grace blinked once more, before growing a small blush with the lips twitching and eyes growing amusement in them.

She then gave a good-hearted laugh, before bringing up her right hand and waved it down at May. "To me? What are you talking about?" Grace laughed out, before smiling down at the young Pokémon Coordinator and held up her left hand's index finger. "You fought, you won. Try to have a little bit more confidence, okay?" The red-haired female told the brunette, giving a wink of her left eye to May, which she nodded her head. "Okay". May replied to her friend, before glancing down at her Pokémon with a happy expression, something that Combusken and Shellos returned.

(Later on)

Later on, the gang was standing right outside of the Pokémon Contest with Ash, Verity, Max and Brock standing in front of May, who was back in her travel outfit and holding her brand new square ribbon case that was a light green colour. Pikachu was riding on Ash's left shoulder, Piplup was being carried by Verity as she had her arms wrapped around the Water type's stomach and Jirachi was floating next to Max.

May looked down inside of her ribbon case, right at the pink ribbon placed at the middle, before bringing the case's top down and closed it. "You got your first ribbon, May". Ash said with both hands placed on his hips, proud of his girlfriend for winning. "We're really proud of you". Max told his sister, lifting his arms up a bit. "Congratulations". Brock said with a smile, while Verity gave May a wink with her right eye. "You totally rocked it out there. Your hard work has paid off big time". The Twinleaf girl told the brunette, proud of May just as much as everyone else, maybe even more.

May zipped her ribbon case's zip close, before looking up at her traveling companions with an appreciated smile. "That's so nice, thank you guys". The brunette thanked her friends for their kind words. "Well, you did it May". A familiar voice stated, catching everyone's attention as they looked with May turning around, to see Drew standing a few feet away from them with a rose in his right hand.

The green-haired boy was acting his usual cool self as he had his eyes closed. "Of course, if you had been competing against me in the first round..." Drew began as he opened his eyes to look at the brunette across him. "Things might have ended up a whole lot different". He finished, before tossing the rose up into the air. May looked up at the rose Drew tossed as it landed on top of her ribbon case. She grew an amused smile as she took hold of the rose with her right hand, and then looked towards her rival. "I suppose this rose is for Combusken, right?" She questioned the green-haired boy, which Drew smirked as he flicked his hair.

"Yeah... Something like that". He answered, before turning around and began walking off. Max watched Drew walk off with a confused frown as he placed both hands against the hips. "That guy is still stuck-up as ever". The young boy stated, thinking that he should have been knocked down his horse house already. 'I don't like him'. Jirachi remarked, floating down on Max's head and sat down there.

"Well, now that that's all taken care of, it's on to my next Gym Battle. And I'm eager to win my fourth badge". Ash said with a confident smirk, something Pikachu shared. "Pi-pikachu!" The Electric type cried out with an energetic voice. May giggled as she turned around to look at her boyfriend with a grin. "I hear ya, Ash. I'm eager as well, to win my next contest!" May exclaimed, throwing her right hand into the air to express how eager she was. "Nice to see that you're all full of energy still". Another familiar voice said, this time from behind Ash, Verity, Max and Brock.

The gang turned and saw Sorrel and Lucario walking up to them with the Klefki floating right beside the Aura Pokémon. "Sorrel, there you are". Brock said with a smile as the Veilstone boy and his partner Pokémon stopped right in front of their friends. The Klefki floated past them and stopped in front of May, who looked at the Key Ring Pokémon with eyes filled with wonder. "Sorry if we took so long, but we did manage to make it back on time for May's battle against that Jessibella person". Sorrel told the gang, resting his hands inside of his coat's pockets.

"I see. How did the training go?" The Rainbow Hero asked his sworn brother with a curious voice, catching Sorrel's attention as he looked at Ash. "I'd say it went very well. Aerodactyl mastered Mega Evolution, Bagon has gotten stronger a little and I even caught a Skorupi". Sorrel answered, getting a raised eyebrow from Verity at what he said. "A Skorupi? That's interesting. Did you transfer it over?" The tomboyish girl asked her fellow Sinnoh resident, which Sorrel shook his head sideways at her.

"No, I didn't trade out any of my current Pokémon for it. I transferred it over to where my other Pokémon are being kept, I still have a little bit left to do with my current team". The Pokémon Professor in training answered, wanting to spend bit more time with his current team. "Understandable". Verity remarked, while Ash looked at the Klefki as it was floating around May. "Where did you find your new friend?" The raven-haired boy asked with a curious voice, catching everyone's attention as they looked at Klefki.

"I found this Klefki when Lucario and I made it inside. I didn't know why at first, but it was watching the Pokémon Contest and seemed like it was interested in watching May". The Veilstone boy answered the Rainbow Hero, causing May to blink at what he said. "Klefki?" The brunette questioned in confusion, grabbing Sorrel's attention as he looked at her.

"It's a Pokémon from the Kalos Region, a Steel and Fairy type. I must admit, I was surprised to see one here in Hoenn". The Pokémon Professor in training explained to the Petalburg girl about the Key Ring Pokémon and where it's from.

May blinked once more as Klefki stopped right in front of her face. "Did you come to watch me perform?" The brunette asked the Steel and Fairy type, which Klefki gave an affirmative cry in response. "I think it likes you May". Max said with a smile, honestly a bit amazed at seeing another Pokémon from another region that he's never seen before. "Klef, klefki?" The Steel and Fairy type said to May, sounding as if it's asking a question. 'Klefki is asking May if there's gonna be more of those Pokémon Contests'. Jirachi informed the gang, telling them what the Key Ring Pokémon said to the Petalburg girl.

May slightly tilted her head, before she spoke. "Yeah, there's gonna be a lot more contests and I'm gonna enter as much as I can". The brunette told the Steel and Fairy type with excitement leaking out of her voice, much to Klefki's joy. "Klefki klef". The Key Ring Pokémon cried, going around May in a fast, excited manner before stopping once more in front of May's face once more. "Klef klefki-klef?" Klefki questioned the brunette, who turned to look at Jirachi again for a translation.

'Klefki asked if it goes with you, will it get to perform as well'. Jirachi translated, much to May's surprise while Verity just smiled a bit. "Looks like you've left a memorial impression on this Klefki if it wants to perform with you". Verity said to her fellow Pokémon Coordinator, before lightly lifting her left hand up and gestured to Klefki with it. "Klefki seems certain that it wants to perform with you, so grant its request". The Twinleaf girl added, getting May to look at her for a moment, before looking back at Klefki.

May stared at it for a few seconds, before smiling softly. "Okay then. I hope we become good friends, Klefki". The Petalburg girl said as she placed her right hand into her fanny pack for a moment, and brought out an enlarged Quick Ball. She held it up, which Klefki softly tapped it. The device opened, before the Key Ring Pokémon turned into a red beam that was absorbed into the Quick Ball. Once it was fully inside, the device closed and began lightly shaking in May's hand for a few moments, until it ceased with three stars briefly appearing over it, signaling the capture to be a success, only the center was red.

"That's your seventh Pokémon, and as per the rules of only carrying six Pokémon, you're gonna have to send one of yours to your parents to look after". Brock told the young girl, reminding her about the rule of only having six Pokémon on hand. May hummed to herself as she looked down at the Quick Ball in her hand for a few moments, before blinking with a growing smile. "Ahhh, I'll send Beautifly over to mum and dad. Mum always talked about how much she loved Beautifly". The brunette said with a fond voice upon thinking of the times her mother told her about the history she and Norman had with the Butterfly Pokémon.

She turned towards the Rainbow Hero with a hopeful face. "Ash, can I use the Pokémon Box Link?" May asked her boyfriend, which Ash nodded instantly as he had no problem with that. "Sure, no problem". The Rainbow Hero answered, bringing up his right hand with the capsule held with the thumb and index fingers. May gave a smile at the sight.

Not too long later, the gang all stood together in front of the Contest hall's entrance, while May walked up to them with the Pokémon Box Link capsule in her right hand. She had successfully transferred her Beautifly over to her parents and told them about her victory in the Fallarbor Pokémon Contest. After receiving praise from her parents, May ended the call and shut off the Pokémon Box Link.

May gave a wink of her eyes as she tossed the capsule up, and then caught it with her right hand. "All done, and ready to go". May told her traveling companions, before tossing the capsule over to Ash, who caught it with his right hand. "Took you long enough". The Rainbow Hero said with a smirk, putting the capsule away in his pants' pocket. He then looked past May down the pathway. "Let's go". Ash declared, before he began walking with Sorrel, Verity and Lucario right behind him. They passed through May, who turned around and began following after them with Max, Brock and Jirachi right beside her.

Their business here in Fallarbor Town was finished, now they were on their way to Lavaridge Town for Ash's next Gym battle. Stay tune for next time.

(Date a Live: Day to Story)

"This is the tale of a long, long journey…"

"Of a hero who left home to save you".

The screen was pure black, before slowly lighting up to reveal the night sky full of bright stars. The camera started going downwards, eventually showing the back of the kneeling down form of Ash, who was kneeling on a light blue ground. The Rainbow Hero was kneeling down on his left knee, his right resting on the right knee and head tilted down with eyes closed.

The camera zoomed in and shifted around to show the Rainbow Hero slowly opening his eyes to reveal them lightly glowing a rainbow colour with the night sky around him transforming into a sunset sky with clouds. Ash tilted his head up to look out across the sea towards the rising sun in the distance, before his Rainbow Hero wings appeared on his back and spread out fully.

He continued to look out across the distance, before the sunlight from the rising sun soon blinded the camera.

"From a land of fairy tales, a hero set off on a journey".

Ash stood on atop of a hill overlooking his hometown, Pallet Town, still kneeling down in the same position with his wings spread out, head tilted down and eyes closed once more. Pikachu came into view, spun around and then smiled at the camera as he closed in and came over the screen.

"Passing through the grassy plains to find his princess".

Once Pikachu left the screen, it changed to show Ash now in Mount Tensei's summit with the Rainbow Rock a little bit away in the distance, still in the same position. Then, Verity came into view with a wild smile on her face. She stuck her tounge out at the camera as she closed in and came over the screen.

"Overcoming pitch black caves and stormy mountains".

Once Verity left the screen, it changed to show Ash now in the Secret Garden of Alto Mare, still kneeling down in front of the pound where the Soul Dew rested. Bianca then came into view with a soft smile directed at the camera, before closing in and came over the screen.

The screen then changed to show Ash in Forina, down on solid ground and still kneeling down with his head tiled down.

"His sword held high".

The Rainbow Wing then came up from below and came over view in the camera, before disappearing to reveal a patch of grass with a dark background. The camera moved across to the right, eventually showing Ash still in his kneeling down position with his Rainbow Hero wings spread out fully.

"The flames of courage burns in his eyes".

The Rainbow Wing floated down out of nowhere right next to the left side of Ash's face. The Rainbow Hero then opened his rainbow glowing coloured eyes and brought his head up, and then proceeded to stand up fully.

"I'll cast of the clutches of darkness and take your hand in mine".

A familiar right hand, belonging of that of a certain Twinleaf girl, reached out with Ash's left hand reaching out towards it as well. The two hands then gently grabbed hold of one another with a rainbow light appearing in between them. The light grew much stronger and blinded the screen.

"Always with my sword in hand".

The screen changed to show the Rainbow Wing floating down from the night sky full of stars, before images of Ash's traveling companions started to appear one by one. First, it was Misty, who gave a wave with her right hand, then changed to show Brock, who had his arms crossed and smiling at the camera.

"I'll break through the darkness to find you".

May, Max and Jirachi then all appeared together with the oldest Maple sibling having her arms wrapped around her brother's neck from behind, hugging him with a bright smile. Max and Jirachi both had wide smiles with their eyes closed with the former holding his best friend in his arms in a happy embrace.

The Maple siblings and Jirachi disappeared from view, before it changed to show Sorrel and Lucario, standing back to back with one another, both looking at the camera with confident expressions on their faces.

"No matter how hard it is, I won't ever give up".

Then, both Verity and Piplup appeared with the Twinleaf girl having her arms wrapped around her starter's stomach, holding the Water type close. Both Verity and Piplup were giving mischievous looks right at the camera, before they and the Rainbow Wing disappeared from view.

"So come and take my hand".

"The eternal flames of courage (Dead or Alive)".

"Fills the world with light".

Azora and Sylvia then came up into view, facing the camera directly with narrowed eyes. The two flew a little bit away from the camera, before the blue haired girl pointed her right hand forward and gave a command. Sylvia gave out a cry as it unleashed a Fairy Wind attack right at the camera, before the two faded away.

Rainbow coloured flames erupted from below the night sky and burned bright, before briefly covering the camera completely, only to quickly die out to reveal Ash and Verity standing beside one another at the edge of a cliff of the ocean with a few grass covered rocks with flowers behind them. Ash didn't have his Rainbow Hero wings anymore, but Pikachu was now on his right shoulder, while Verity was still holding Piplup in her arms.

The four were looking out across the distance towards the rising sun as it rose up, brining another day full of adventure for the Pokémon World.

Well, that's it for chapter 25. Next up is chapter 26, and the one I've been looking forward to for some time now. It'll be different from the anime and more intense battles, so look forward to it. It shouldn't take too long if I work enough. So, please be patient until then. Before I go, I've got something I'd like all of your opinions on. I intend for the gang to get the items on Jagged Pass, yet have no intention of writing down them going down the mountain. So, I'm just gonna have it mentioned that they picked up the items on their way down.

That's all for now. See ya later.
