A Shining Christmas

Twas Christmas time on the isle of Rune

And the Shining Force was tired;

They had just defeated the Dragon

Dark, and in fame were mired.

The hero Max, who had the dragon

Banished, wished to retire in peace,

And so invited the Shining Force,

To one last Christmas feast.

The members of the Shining Force

Gathered at old HQ;

Even Hanzou the ninja and

Jogurt the hamster had come, too.

They were going to do everything

like Christmas, all of it new;

A play, a feast, some gifts, a tree,

And more decorations too.

The feast's center was turkey,

From the best takeout place in Rune.

There was ham, and potatoes,

And of mincemeat pie half a moon.

But at the time of the feast there came

An unpredicted and shocking guest;

Twas the demon Darksol, who of late,

Had given himself at the Dragon's behest.

They thought he was dead with the Dragon,

but he had survived; Now he came

to wreak vengeance upon them;

He had countless plans to try in this game.

They both tried their plans

To keep one another

From winning the day,

But naught could conquér.

Then, as the Force was

Planning their strike against Darksol,

On Christmas day no less,

Jogurt the hamster was in deep distress.

He attempted to journey,

With large box in hand,

To the enemy camp

Where Darksol was mad.

Nothing had gone right

For Darksol from the start;

His plans were all foiled,

And then left to rot.

When Jogurt came to the gate,

The guards let him in;

After all, what harm

Could a hamster do within?

Jogurt went straight to Darksol,

And gave him the box;

The demon took it gladly,

And then unleashed a fox.

The fox chased the hamster out of the camp,

While its master wondered what

The mysterious box contained,

But could not guess with it shut.

He finally gave in

And opened the box. Inside

Was a small, green-jeweled ring.

"Such a strange ring," he thought.

He put the ring on…

And was instantly changed

Into a hamstér. But with his hamster hands

He could not remove it, and grew deranged.

When the guards found him,

They believed him to be

The so-recently chased away hamster,

And caused the changed demon to flee.

When the Shining Force heard of

Jogurt's trick, they were soon

In good cheer. The rest of the

Season went happ'ly in Rune.

The Force had discovered

That even joke characters

Could be great factors

In saving the season.
