Hm... I was in a weird mood, recycling the stories I've already thought up and improving... Don't own Inuyasha, if you hadn't guessed.
Dealing With Demons
By Kagura no baka
"Okay?" he asks, his eyes flashing, his face serious. He's pushy and stubborn- a bad combination in any person. Bargaining has never been my strong point, and the stakes have never been so high. This isn't the first time I've been backed into a corner without a weapon, but I can't tell you of another time the demon backing me up was attractive.
"Father says the most dangerous demons are the ones that wear human faces."
And what a face it is. A strong, sturdy jaw, sun-tanned skin and passionate blue eyes, Kouga of the Wolf Demon Tribe was a handsome male at any angle. He was toned and sturdy, a built fighter. How different from Houshi-sama's reserve and calm...
He seemed friendly enough, while telling me of his plans, but the hand currently placed against the wall, has distressingly sharp claws on it. I know he will kill me if I don't comply.
'I cannot die here, without a weapon in my hand and my family's vengeance.' I think, and a sigh escapes my lips. I open them to accept his strange proposal when he drops dramatically to one knee. I blink, becoming confused.
"Huntress," he seems to be straining to think of the words, and I think it very nice for him to try so hard. Memories of Inuyasha flying of the handle flash through my mind, and I start to think I wouldn't mind this wolf being with Kagome.
"I have witnessed your merciless power and strength before, and-" he pauses again as I reel with this new opinion of me.
'Merciless? Me? I knew I could be a little, shall we say, aggressive in battles, but merciless?'
"Before you shun me completely, I ask you this- for Kagome?" He pierces me with his stare, and its so cold I wonder how I could have ever thought it heated- it's as cold as ice. "I know she pines over that foolish dog," he spits out the word like it is something foul, and to him it probably is. "And that he wastes his time brooding over that reanimated corpse."
I have some doubt that if Kouga were the object of her affections, Kagome would have less to worry about. But at least he wants her and only her, which is more than Inuyasha can give.
"I suppose I can try." I speak at the same time he says "I know that a demon exterminator you don't probably want to-" He stops.
"Huh?" I'm not prepared for the extreme joy on his face, or the friendly punch on the arm as he tells me that's great, and asks me exactly where is she from anyway.
"I'll tell you anything you want about Kagome's ...land." I assure him, stepping back from his friendliness, because it is nice and I cannot take that.
The dark haired wolf prince asks me about the fighting there and I tell him that few make their lives off of it there. He questions about her clothing, and does everyone dress like that? Yes.
What kind of food does Kagome like? I tell him she's not picky, and he grins, that being a trait wolves admire.
He inquires about how people mate, and I tell him about marriage, and dating, and everything else I can think of.
He raises the question of what type of flower she likes. I say any type of flower will be fine, but roses are the best. He says he's never seen one. I try to describe it and he ends up hopelessly confused.
And then I'm the one grinning.
There... done. Dunno where I was going with this, but whatever.
