"In this world, there is so much dictated by peoples looks or social status. That is just how it is for us on earth and nothing has changed yet. Little is defined by skill or education, that or education is corrupted by what you are willing to do. The only thing that gets you anywhere, are your connections... or boot licking...
The ancient law "eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth" has long been distorted into "an insult for your life". Nothing is safe anymore in earths current society. It pushed people like me to find different escapes from the mounting pressure of standards that people forced upon me. My only way out of this reality... was through manga.
Adventure, Sci-fi, fantasy, horror, all of them allowed me to run away from the real world and the crushing weight of the constant eyes watching me. My favorite manga recently had been "My Hero Acadamia". The super hero themed adventure that allowed me to gaze upon a future that I would be unable to live in. The reality in which I had decided to dive headfirst and swim towards.
Watching characters grow and fight, discover their mistakes and weaknesses and try to over come them. The constant threat of villains and evil, this is what made sure I was there to see the next day. Ever since it's debuts in 2014 up to now, 2022, I had been by their side step by step through the journey.
Now... their story was nearing its epic climax, the latest issue of the manga had been released!!!"
Among the hustle and bustle of thousands of students stood a single teenage girl, roughly the age of 16z long straight brown hair ran down a white parka as she reached down into a nondescript black plastic bag and pulled out a colorful book.
"It's here! The latest edition of my hero acadamia!! Finally I will get the answers to so many of my questions!!!!! And maybe get a look at some more side character back story!! Oh those are always a hit or miss, their either really good or just fall flat."
The girl was practically vibrating in place as she stuffed the bag into her backpack and began moving through the crowd. A smile etched on her face and excitement lighting up her eyes. The manga was already open and pages began flipping at an impossible speed, that sparkle began to become a blur as she read the book. This teenager was completely oblivious to the glares she was getting from afar.
What you might not know about our protagonist or that you already do know or have guessed, is that she had been bullied all her life due to baseless rumors. Her social status was at the bottom of the schools hierarchy, lower even then that of the bread shufflers. She was considered dirt, an animal on good days. These rumors had been the reason her life was terrible and you'll meet their creator in just a few moments.
"Look at that bitch, just ignoring our summons as if she had any dignity at all. Someone should put her in her place again" a tall sinister looking young man commented towards his friends. His brown eyes tracking our favorite manga reader from across the courtyard.
"They're all becoming so rebellious my love, why just the other three people looked me in the eyes"- young red head threw her arms around the young man's neck and gazed up at him with suggestive eyes. It was so obvious that she wanted something to be done to the girl. "Make an example of her please?"
The Male seemed to think about it for a minute before he gave an evil smile and stepped away from her. Surprise bloomed across the red heads face before she caught a glimpse of his eyes and then fear washed over her.
"I do believe it is time we decided to make an example of someone again. Show them what happens when you turn against the Smitherson family"
...
"I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote those fanfics. Obviously I needed to focus more upon Mina then anyone else, she's probably one of the best characters and has quite a bit of potential... and yet so little screen time"
The teens inner thoughts distracted her long enough to miss the crossing light turning from red, to white, to red again. Often times her thoughts became so chaotic and unfocused that she was unable to properly complete a task and would stare off into space instead. However when the topic of anime or manga popped up, she became like glass, easily seen through.
Unbeknownst to our protagonist, sinister forces had begun moving and putting their plans into motion. Their target/goal was hidden but would be revealed later this chapter.
"What I would give to live in their world and have a quirk, it would be a hopeless dream come true but still impossible. This isn't some episode one of a bad anime or something"
The girl sighed, her heart falling into the pit of her stomach. Often times life managed to bring her down all the time just by being around her. The suppression of imagination was strangling her, depriving the desperate teen of the creative juices she required.
The honking of vehicles and the screech of tires dragged the teenagers attention away from her impending existential crises. Everything was doing as it did on a daily basis and the chaos of earth never seemed to stop.
The light infront of her turned white, signaling it was time to walk. Among the hustle and bustle of students and random people, our protagonist kept her eyes on the ground and completely missed the changing of the light again.
Time seemed to slow as the sound of a truck speeding up and honking drew near. Large brown eyes turned to look directly into the headlights of an oncoming nondescript white delivery truck headed straight towards her.
Finally all of time actually stopped except for the teenager. Her eyes wide as she looked around her at all the things and people frozen in time.
"What would you do if you knew the entire story and knew how the future would unfold?" A voice echoed from the empty space of limbo, white hair flashing as the girl whirled around to look for the source.
"Who was that! Why is everything frozen!!!!!!"
"Would you let everything play out as its for-told, or would you change everything to fit your wishes" the source of the voice finally came into existence, a young man with dark grey hair and bright orange hair who stood in-front of the oncoming vehicle.
"W-what?" The girl had no way of understanding or knowing what the man meant. The current situation In itself was absolutely confusing and not expected to any of humanity.
"I suppose you don't full understand, I never do get their choices in procidens stella's but it is a question that I must always ask. You have given your choice and now I leave it to fate!" His hands lifted from his pockets and pointed directly towards the girl out of time. His eyes glowing with every passing word before finally he vanished and the truck unfroze.
There was the sharp screech of tires before a dull thud and screams of bystanders. Blood pooled across the pavement and began soaking into the dry pages of the my hero acadamia manga.
In another world, in another time, was that sound of medical equipment and the rushing of feet. Everything fell silent for a few moments before a plain white door opened and a nurse stepped into the hallways.
"Congratulations, it's a girl, you can go inside now" her words were soft and lifted the head of a young man with long untamed black hair. The man walked inside and found his child being held by a woman with light green hair and a tired face.
"Emi?" His voice was shaky and the woman lifted her head, tears in her eyes that raced down her cheeks as she exposed the young man to his child. A very soft little tuff of white hair poked from the sleeping bundle.
"Welcome to this broken earth, Himitsu Aizawa"
