We're back! I'm still working on Sarah's Codemaster match with Amzen, but in the meantime, we're getting to 'Newbie'. This will mostly be from Tom and Sarah's point of view, but we may see Kaz and Peyton's side of the story at some point. Let's get Chaotic!
It's only been two weeks since the CoolTom situation transpired, leading to the blossoming love of Thomas Jason Majors and Sara Beth Laurence. The duo had been on plenty of date nights since then and were the cool couple of Dunstan High. Sarah still has a Codemaster match coming with Amzen and she has been planning out her strategy with Tom all week. They had just ported back from Perim with some new scans and Sarah wanted a few of those scans that Tom got during their scan quest. While they waited for their cheese pizza (Tom didn't want pepperoni breath for when he kisses Sarah, though she didn't mind it one bit), Tom and Sarah were over at the trading tables just as Kaz and Peyton had returned from the Lava Pond.
They had wanted to get their hands on a Zapetur scan, but were attacked by a M'arrillian and barely escaped.
"Man, that Marrillian creeped me way out, bro..." Peyton said to Kaz.
"Yeah, no way I'm going back to the Lava Pond while that guy's around," Kaz told Peyton as a girl around their age ported in. She was about as tall as Sara, but she had short, raven black hair, green eyes (not the same shade as Sarah) and was sporting a purple top and coat with green capris and orange hi-top boots. Enter Shinwan - screen name: PerimPrincess.
"Yo dudes! You should've seen what Kaz and I..."
Peyton was quickly hushed by Sarah. "Peyton, we're trading here! Okay, Tom. My Morn Memorial for your Yondaf. Deal?"
Tom was seriously considering the trade, but wanted to add in a Stingblade scan when Shinwan cried out...
"WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME WHAT'S GOING ON AROUND HERE?!"
Sarah giggled "Sounds like another Chaotic first-timer..."
"Ah, I remember my first port to Chaotic..." Tom sighed, looking back on his first time entering the Chaotic world.
"Yeah. You were in your underwear and if you hadn't screamed, I never would've found you in time for your match with SamShady!" Kaz recalled.
"Man, too bad I was at Lake Ken-i-Po...I would've loved to see Tom in his underwear!" Sarah said to Kaz before looking back to her boyfriend Tom.
"You have it bad, Sarah..." Kaz remarked as he, Peyton, Tom and Sarah looked towards Shinwan. Kaz and Peyton lost all independent thought right away while Tom went with Sarah to greet the new girl.
"So Chaotic isn't just a game? It's a...real place?" Shinwan asked.
"Yeah. When you battle here, you actually become the creatures!" Tom confirmed. "Just be glad you didn't port here in your underwear like I did when I first got my transport code. By the way...Kaz, Peyton...control yourselves."
"Don't worry, it will all make sense soon enough," Sarah reassured Shinwan, introducing herself as they made their way to the Oran Drome.
"So who's this Klayotic I'm up against?" Shinwan asked.
"That's Klay. He has a penchant for Underworlders," Tom told Shinwan. "He also likes scamming new players, so be careful. First match is always 1 on 1 to get you acquainted."
Kaz and Peyton tried to help too, but all they were doing was trying to further their own boyish goals. Sarah on the other hand...
"Just destroy your opponent, especially if it's a boy!"
This drew a weird look from Tom.
"Oh, you know I love you, Tom..."
Once in the Oran Drome, Kaz and Peyton still tried to help Shinwan through her scanner, but they were cut off by Sarah.
"What was that for? We were only trying to help!" Peyton attempted to defend him and Kaz.
"Yeah...help yourselves!" Sarah fired back. "I can't believe you two! You act like she's the only attractive girl in Chaotic!"
"There's another one? Where? Where?" Kaz freaked, looking for another girl.
"Yo, Major T! Back us up here!" Peyton called out to Tom.
"Ordinarily, I'd be all over a new girl. But there's only one woman for me now...and it's the super cute blonde who just called you and Kaz out."
Kaz and Peyton's jaws dropped at hearing this.
"Yo, you hearing this, Kazzers?" Peyton asked.
"I heard it, but I still don't believe it..." Kaz said, shocked. "I appreciate Tom sticking by Sarah, but he didn't have to be that savage!"
"He learned from me!" Sarah said with a girlish giggle as the match started.
"Kinnianne attacks Atrapol!" Shinwan called out as she tapped her Kinnianne card, transforming into the fox-like Ambassador to the Mipedians, while Klay transformed into Atrapol. "This is so weird, but so cool!"
"It may be cool now, but wait until you get coded...which you will! Let's get CHAOTIC!"
It was Kinnianne vs. Atrapol in Pouril Village. Shinwan as Kinnianne started rough as she couldn't figure out how to call for her Battlegear, but when faced with a tough situation, used her Fanfare of the Vanishing Mugic to go invisible.
"How'd she do that? Fanfare of the Vanishing is a Mipedian Mugic!" Tom assessed.
"Kinnianne is the Overworld Ambassador to the Mipedians! She can cast Mipedian Mugic!" Peyton told the group.
"Not bad for a newbie, huh guys?" Sarah teased.
Shinwan proceeded to finish off Klay with a combination of Sunderground and a Delerium attack on Klay's Battlegear to code Atrapol.
After the match at the Port Court, Shinwan was curious about what else goes on in Chaotic. She was surprised to learn about players actually going to locations in Perim and about the M'arrillians.
"What's a M'arrillian?" Shinwan asked.
"The M'arrillians used to be locked behind the Doors of the Deepmines. Nobody had ever seen them before, now they're out and they don't exactly play well with others," Sarah explained.
"Do a lot of players have M'arrillian scans?"
"I don't think any players have M'arrillian scans..." Tom said.
"Then I'll be the first! Just show me how to port to the Lava Pond and I'll go by myself!"
"Kaz, Peyton, you guys go ahead...I'll stay behind with Sarah."
"Uh, alright there, Tomasito..." Peyton said to Tom as he, Kaz and Shinwan headed over to the Transport Center, porting over to the Lava Pond.
"So what's the deal with Tom and Sarah, Kaz?" Shinwan asked. "Are they dating?"
"Actually, yes...Tom and Sarah are dating, Shinwan," Kaz confirmed.
"They wanted to keep it a secret from everyone at school, but someone...and by someone, I mean Kaz's girlfriend Jycella, blabbed it..." Peyton added in.
"She's not my girlfriend, Peyton!" Kaz defended. "Speaking of which, which school do you go to, Shinwan?"
"Dunstan High!"
"Cool! I guess we'll see you around school after this one!" Kaz said cheerfully as they looked for the M'arrillian.
Back at the Port Court, Tom and Sarah were snuggled up to each other, enjoying a large cheese pizza and sharing a strawberry milkshake.
"Hey, Tom..."
"Yeah, Sarah?"
"Does this remind you of anything?"
Tom was confused for a minute, then he thought back to when he sent Kaz and Peyton on that Scavenger Scan match. "Oh yeah...the Scavenger Scan!"
"Tom, you didn't set that whole thing up just so you could be alone with me, did you?" Sarah teased.
"Actually, I kinda did."
Sarah giggled and kissed Tom. "Tom, you're so devious...and so cute..."
"And you are the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on..."
"GAH! Tom, you sap! I hate that I love you..."
"And I love that I know, Sarah..."
The pair giggled as they snuggled contently into each other's arms, kissing each other sweetly. Unknown to Sarah, however, Tom had snuck a hand up her top, caressing her back. Luckily, they weren't caught as Kaz and Peyton ported back in from the Lava Pond.
"Hey, guys! How'd your scan quest with Shinwan go?" Sarah asked.
"Not...real good..." Peyton said.
"Shinwan...never made it out of the Lava Pond...likely never will..." Kaz lamented.
"Kaz, she's over by the snack bar..." Tom snarkily replied. The news of Shinwan scoring a M'arrillian scan had spread like wildfire.
"Hey, guys! Sorry to fake you out, but I couldn't bail until I got what I came for. His name's Milla'iin...take a look!"
Sure enough, Shinwan had scanned the M'arrillian Chieftain Milla'iin, drawing the attention of every player, boy and girl alike. She would then get hit on by a pair of jocks, leading her away from Kaz and Peyton.
"There goes our Perim Princess..." Peyton lamented.
"At least we got Zapetur scans..." Kaz said.
"Come on, guys! There's other cool girls in Chaotic! You can go for one of those!" Tom cheerfully replied, trying to lighten the mood of his friends.
"Easy for you to say...you already have a girlfriend..." Peyton told Tom.
"Some guys just never learn..." Sarah said to Tom, kissing him.
"Unfortunately, Kaz and Peyton are no different," Tom replied, pecking Sarah on the cheek.
"By the way...check your backpack...I snuck a little something in there to take home with you..." Sarah teased.
Tom looked into his backpack and sure enough, there was a cute red bra inside - Sarah's favorite color. With it came a note reading...
