The silence in the car was peaceful, though it was incomplete with the hypnotic sounds of Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' playing.
Kikyou smiled. "Thank you for bringing me Suikotsu." She spoke up quietly.
Suikotsu shook his head. "It was no problem, you shouldn't walk in cold like this anyway." He told her smiling.
She couldn't help but smile a little herself. "But it was a kind deed that deserves a thanks, nonetheless."
"Well, then your welcome." Suikotsu answered as he pulled into the small parking lot joined with the apartment building where his girlfriend resided. He opened his door, walking around to the other side of his car and opening the passenger door for Kikyou.
She thanked him and stepped out, walking to the door. He followed and they climbed the stairs to her 3rd floor apartment.
Kikyou unlocked her door and opened it, turning around to say her final goodnights to Suikotsu.
But they found themselves both at a loss for words. Finally, they both leaned in slightly and their lips met in the smallest of kisses. "Goodnight," they both finally said as Suikotsu began walking away and Kikyou shut the door to her apartment.
Kikyou turned around to see her teal-eyed roommate, Tsubaki, smiling smugly at her. "That was a cute display."
"I thought you had a date tonight."
"I canceled." Tsubaki retorted. "How was work with Mr. Cutie-that-your-roommate-has-yet-to-meet?"
"It was fine, if you don't mind Tsubaki, I'm going to sleep." She told her roommate, walking into her room as her hand drifted up to her lips gently. Sometimes kisses just didn't last long enough…goodnight kisses in particular.
