Author note: IMAGINE DISAPPEARING

Imma be honest, I was stuck at where to put this story but I've reread my shit and now I think I'm more than confident enough to continue

The Sleeping King's Awakening

Jaune Arc was in darkness, devoid of all feeling and thought.

"Where am I?" he thought.

"What am I?"

His thoughts raced, memories flashed by.

The first came when he was nine, a young prince. He had a brilliant smile and entranced all in the kingdom from young to old. He paraded in the streets and the people cheered.

"Our wonderful young master"

"The Future King!"

He always waved back and treated the people with his kindness, he helped those in need as much as he could for a young boy.

He remembered getting back to the palace, "Father! I love you so much! I missed you!"

He shouted hugging his father, Nicholas. Nicholas at the time stood at 6 foot 4, his and his son's signature blonde hair and blue eyes brimming with kindness and hope. He wore his golden armor with Crocea Mors at his hip.

Nicholas carried his son "I missed you too son! So, how's sword training? Did your sisters meddle too much again?"

Jaune laughed "No, Saph tried but I told her she couldn't "

"And she didn't right?"

Jaune scratched the back of his head "uh... Nope?"

Nicholas laughed heartily patting the boy's head "Jaune, it's alright to get help from people sometimes"

"Well... Not when she's literally trying to swing the sword for me" Jaune puffed his cute cheeks.

Nicholas enjoyed the cuteness of his son "Rest assured, you're going to do well. Even best me in combat one day"

"That's impossible dad! You're too strong!"

Jaune's eyes scrunched in pain, he had more memories.

More memories surfaced for him, he remembered the trips his father took him to.

"Where are we dad? We had such a long carriage ride, mum wasn't even with us"

"Relax Jaune, your mother and sisters are on the way. But I want to show you first hand, what a king should be" Nicholas smirked.

As they exited the carriage, Jaune looke in awe. Man, women and children bowed to the revered King of Wisdom. Jaune gawked at the pressure his father exuded as he met with the diplomat of another nation.

"I apologize if it may have been rude, but I wish to bring my son." Nicholas apologized, but his tone commanding, "I am training him to become the next king, I hope you understand"

The envoy gulped and nodded, scurrying away.

This was the first time Jaune had ever seen the revenrence and strength a king should capture.

Jaune once again winced, to his final memory. Of that final day;

Dark grey clouds lined the sky, rain covered the battlefield. The scraping of metal and screams of men resounded. The sound of bodies hitting the mud and the metallic smell of blood along with the stench of sweat, and other bodily fluids wafted through the air.

He was a little older, maybe fifteen at the time. A suit of silver armor lined with gold, it was his first time on the battlefield. His father had ordered the evacuation of Ansel Castle, the invaders had made it that far.

Twenty to one, the soldiers fought. Taking many down along with each death, the skill of the Ansel Knights were unparalleled against the invaders. Jaune, who had only been training for six years from a young age was able to hold his ground.

An apparent prodigious swordsman, he visciously tore through man after man. "Father!" he shouted, looking for his father amongst the sea of bodies.

"Jaune!? Why are you here?" The man asked, digging his poleaxe out of a heavily armored enemy. "I told you to retreat with your mother and sisters!"

Jaune parried a blade and turned to stab the assailant, while turning and kicking another in the knee and beheading him. "I sent your generals to take care of them for me so I can bring you back"

"You fool!" Nicholas said, swinging his poleaxe around, taking several people down. "They could be in danger! I trusted you to defend them"

"They will be fine! You however are in need. Our forces are twenty to one, we are getting pushed back. We must take a tactical retreat"

"To where?" asked Nicholas, "If we give in here, they will march straight into Ansel"

Jaune was back to back with his father, "We can use the natural barrier, lead them to the mountain pass and we can hold the line there"

Nicholas smirked "That's my boy"

Jaune, shouted with his eyes closed. A nightmare that keeps playing in his mind again and again.

Nicholas coughed up blood, a glass arrow was dissipating as it was stuck in his heart.

Jaune's heart fell, "DAD!" He shouted in desperation. The battlefield went quiet, Jaune found the source of the arrow. A raven haired woman wearing all white and a White Fang crest.

Jaune was furious, in that moment he awakened and spiked his aura so hard that the force of the aura created a crater beneath him.

"Dad please, say something" he cried, aura flaring.

Nicholas smiled, wiping his son's tears and the rain water away. "Son... Rest—assured... I will be with you forever. Live and rule... as king" with his final words, Nicholas drew his final breath.

"RRRGHAAAA" Jaune shouted, raising his blade to the heavens. "MEN! CHARGE!"

The final charge was able to repel the enemy. But at what cost?

The horrible memories circled around Jaune's mind. "I'm a weak and useless fool. I hate myself for not being able to do anything you stupid sack of—"

Then suddenly, a warmth fell upon his hand. Three drops of water, "huh?" Jaune then remembered the past month.

How beautiful his betrothed was, how she looked reading her books. How he saved her from evil men, her words, her worries.

"Blake... she's worried, I can't die now"

As if Jaune willed it, his aura flared once again. But instead of a destructive heat and pressure. A soft glow encapsulated the hospital room. The wounded were mended, the tired and hungry were sated.

The king finally opened his eyes. Bright light flowed from the window and eyes were glued on him. The moaning of pain were gone, the tired nurses were energized and everyone was in awe.

"The Gods... They've blessed us" one said

"No you dimwit, its the King..."

"The King!" they exclaimed

Nurses bowed and men hailed.

Jaune couldn't yet move his body, he moved his neck to look down. It was Blake, her tears dried on his hand.

Blake was awoken by the noise, looking at Jaune's face she smiled. "JAUNE!" she shouted, new tears flowing down her face.

"I... I'm sorry I worried you" Jaune apologized, his voice cracked.

"N-no don't worry, here have a drink!" Blake scrambled, for a glass.

Jaune took it and drank, "How long was I gone? All I remember was an explosion in my office"

Blake nodded, "Indeed, there was an explosion and you've been gone for three weeks"

Jaune clenched his fist, "Blake..." He said running his hands on her smooth face. Under her eyes were dark circles that meant sleepless nights, her hair was frazzled and her eyes puffy with tears.

Jaune pulled her close, "I'm sorry for making you worry" he apologized, and he gave her a soft and tender kiss.

"I... It's alright, I'm glad you're okay"

Jaune was now awake, rage rumbled in his core. "I will find who started this, I will have them executed by the end of the next week"

The rage of the king now unleashed, a few more days of healing and soon the death of the perpetrators will be achieved.

"Even if it kills me" Jaune grit his teeth in rage. "No one can make my future spouse cry"
