Ren Amamiya, a mere teenager, forced into a life he never expected. One wrong move and everything you know is gone, he learnt this the hard way, but that's a story best left buried... for now.
Ren had just arrived at his home under his new guardian "Sojiro Sakura", it wasn't much... a rather mid-sized room above the strangers Cafe: "LeBlanc". Ren's clothes had already been sent ahead, and with nowhere to put them he just left them in the box. He had to live here for a full year, as per the terms of his probation.
"Hey Kid! Get down here a minute" The stranger shouted up the stairs, it was still quite early in the day so LeBlanc was empty. Ren sighed as he stood back up and headed back downstairs. "Good you aren't deaf." the man spoke from behind the bar while fixing his gaze onto the teen, "We're going to Shujin Academy tommorow to make your enrollment official, also when I have customers, stay up in the attic or you'll probably just scare them off." Ren wouldn't give a verbal answer, and instead would just nod before heading back to his "home"
His new home was very... simple and dirty, everything was covered in cobwebs and dust Ren had considered cleaning his new home but instead deciding to collapsed onto his bed. he finally, after leaving his real family, checked his phone to see if any of them even tried to contact him. Of course none of them had, they pretty much disowned him, he did ruin their social standing that they had spent decades building up.
He was nervous, here he was... sat in a strange new city, in a new home and no friends or family around. He was well and truly alone, part of him thought that life couldn't get any worse, the other part was wondering whether or not that spider in the corner was starring into his soul. Of course this second thought was quickly overtaken by the first thought, he was nervous about going to a new High School, it's not that he is an anti-social person but... he also didn't want to draw any attention to himself. His thought kept him busy long enough for day to turn to night, he didn't have anything to do so he just closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep...

The next day started as Ren woke from his "sleep" if you could even call it that, his back was stiff and the room was ice cold, after finally lifting himself from his concrete slab of a bed he finally pulled out some clothes from his box and put them on, he wore a smart casual outfit as he wasn't attending the school yet, he was merely visiting. As if on queue he heard a call come from below "Hey Kid! Get down here." The kid in question headed back downstairs, there stood Sojiro, with a plate of what looked like and smelt like curry on the bar. "You need to eat breakfast, I'll make you some every morning... just don't miss it"
Ren thanked the man as he took a seat at the bar and began to eat. The TV in the corner was playing current news, Ren didn't pay much attention to it a few words made it through to him... "Mental Shutdown" ... "Subway Accident" ... Ren quickly finished his breakfast he wasn't expecting it to taste as good as it did but that was the best curry he had ever ate.
"Clean your plate. We're leaving." Ren stood up and took his plate to the sink.
Ren and Sojiro embarked on their journey to Shujin, they were meeting the principal of the academy, they went by car as to avoid any delays with the trains. The drive there was quiet, Sojiro had nothing to talk about but neither did Ren, the only thing that broke the silence was the radio repeating the same thing he heard on the news. Could mental shutdowns really be happening..? to Ren it just sounded like a cover up for something greater.
The pair arrived at the school, they made their way up to the principals office where a large, rather round man sat who introduced himself as "Kobayakawa" and a young, exhausted woman stood behind them she introduced herself as "Sadayo Kawakami". The meeting went well considering it was mostly just the principal threatening Ren, it was pretty apparent that he cares more for the reputation of the school than the actual students who reside within. The meeting ended with Kawakami introducing herself to Ren as his new home room teacher, and that when he arrives for his first day tommorow he needs to report directly to the Faculty Lounge to see her.
Ren and Sojiro took their leave and started their unexpectedly long drive home. Traffic was a nightmare, cars lined the roads, Sojiro would just sigh and turn up the radio he didn't want to be stuck in a car with some kid he had just met and well Ren just didn't want to talk at all, he was still adjusting to his new life.
After an hour of stop, start traffic they had finally arrived back in Yongen-Jaya. They headed directly to LeBlanc, upon walking in Sojiro finally spoke up "Look kid, you've been given a second chance so don't throw it away, okay? You heard what they said "One mistake and you're gone"." Ren would nod, he knew what the consequences of his actions would lead to. "Good, I'm not opening the cafe today so I'm heading home. Don't stay up too late." Sojiro would state this as he closes and locks the door to the cafe. Ren decided that he may aswell do something useful with his time, so he searched the cafe for cleaning supplies, it took him a few hours to clean the lower half of the cafe and made the choice to clean his actual room a later time.
Changing out of his casual clothes he flopped onto his bed, ready to sleep. He left his phone on the other side of the room as to not distract him as he began to drift off to sleep once again.
