Since I was able to whip up a new chapter before real life things take over, I wanted to go ahead and post it now. Enjoy, and for those who are wanting more of the romance and such, it'll happen once this duel is over. XD

Chapter 57

Andy smiled and replied, "Then let's continue, shall we?"

After getting the duel disk and deck from the hooded figure, Andy took over the duel for him. Meanwhile, as it was Alex's turn, she looked at her monsters on the field. The one known as King Arthur looked at her and said,

"My lady, we will be able to get through to him. He remembers us, and we'll do everything we can to help."

Alex nodded and replied, "Thanks. I'm going to need all the help I can get."

Mokuba added, "And remember that we're with you, too."

Alex replied, "Of course."

Andy rolled his eyes and replied, "That's so sweet, but we're wasting time."

Alex turned to look at Andy and replied, "Apologies. I know I've kept you waiting for a very long time. But you do remember these guys, don't you?"

She gestured towards her monsters, and scoffing, Andy replied, "Yes, but how are they a threat? I know their abilities."

Alex replied, "I'm well aware, but it's more about the memories associated with them. When we were kids, dad would talk to us about knights and his side of the family."

Andy shook his head and replied, "You've always been more of a romantic."

Alex gave a look and replied, "Perhaps so, but I'm also pragmatic. Well, I suppose I should let them do the talking for now."

She then performed an xyz summon, followed by a synchro summon and then finally, a link summon. Then Alex put two face down cards on the field and without hesitating, she called out,

"Arthur, attack Andy's face down card."

He did as ordered, and although the attack was successful, the result was that Alex was forced to end her turn. At the same time, though, Andy wouldn't be allowed to have his turn. Alex smiled and commented,

"Clever move."

Andy smirked and replied, "You forget that I'm the more passionate duelist."

Alex replied, "I didn't forget, but apparently, you've forgotten something else."

She turned to Max and said, "It's your turn."

Max grinned and replied, "Of course. Everyone will get to see how awesome my world legacy deck is."

Max took his turn, and the duel continued like so. Both sides continued to be at a stalemate, and as it was Alex's turn, King Arthur turned to her and said,

"My lady, this battle cannot continue like this. I know it's your brother, but we won't be enough. You know what you need to do."

Alex looked hesitantly back at King Arthur and replied, "Are you sure? You know what'll happen if I do that."

King Arthur replied, "We will be fine, my lady. We are here to serve you in any capacity, and you and your friends have gathered enough energy to take the next step."

Max added, "He's right, Alex. We can do it."

Andy looked at the group and asked, "What are you people talking about?"

Meanwhile, Kaiba looked at Yugi and asked, "Did you know those three were planning this?"

Yugi replied, "All I know is that they'd been practicing together. But now I'm just as confused as you are."

Joey replied, "What do you two know? And why have I been kept out of things?"

Kaiba scoffed and replied, "You're the worst at keeping secrets, Wheeler."

Joey replied, "What are ya talkin about?"

Yugi replied, "Stop. Let's try to figure out how to get out of here."

Going back to the duel, ignoring Andy, Alex said, "Ok, I'll do it."

She turned to Andy and said, "I'd hoped that seeing our knights would have been enough, but I suppose it was naive on my part. So it's time to take it to the next level."

She took a deep breath and then said, "I activate my continuous trap card, time travel. By activating it, I send all of my knights from my hand, deck, and field to the graveyard. Then I can draw six new cards."

Alex drew six new cards and as she did so, Mokuba looked to where Jaden and the people from his time as well as Yusei and his friends were. They started to wake up and looking at Max, Mokuba said,

"It's working."

Max nodded and looking towards Jaden, Yusei, and the others, he replied, "It sure is."

The hooded figure looked at where Jaden and the others were, and looking shocked, he exclaimed,

"How?!"

Alexa replied, "We can't reveal all our secrets, but I had a feeling this would work."

Meanwhile, Jaden, Yusei, and the others in their group were waking up, and Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey looked at them. Joey asked,

"What the hell is going on?"

Yugi replied, "I don't know, Joey, but it seems that whatever Alex and the others are doing, it's making that guy weaker somehow."

He gestured towards the hooded figure. Once he was completely awake, Jaden noticed Yugi and blearily said,

"Yugi? What's going on? Last thing I remember, Jesse and I were dueling against this weirdo and then…"

As Jaden trailed off, Yusei looked at where Alex, Max, and Mokuba were dueling, and he asked,

"Is that who I think it is?"

Jack looked in the same direction and feeling annoyed, he replied, "Yeah, it's her."

Joey looked at them and asked, "You guys know Alex?"

Yusei nodded and replied, "Yeah. We only met for a short time, but what's going on?"

Yugi looked at Yusei and replied, "It's a long story. I don't think we have time to explain now."

Kaiba added, "We need to get out of here."

Back to the duel, Alex said, "Now I summon a new monster, Sherlock, to the field."

The monster who appeared very similar to the fictional Sherlock Holmes appeared before them. Sherlock opened his eyes and said,

"Well, this is quite the mystery on our hands, miss, but I'm here to help."

Alex smiled a bit and replied, "It's still weird to see you guys talking to me, but I'll go with it. I sure could use your help, sir, and I know a great detective needs his assistant by his side."

She then summoned another monster, Dr. Watson, who appeared beside Sherlock. Dr. Watson then said,

"Here to assist the great Detective Holmes, and the miss."

Alex commented, "Happy to have you onboard, sir. Now, I summon the field spell, Londonium."

After placing her field spell, Alex then set two cards face down on the field. She then requested Sherlock and Watson to attack Andy's monster, which was in attack position. With their combined powers, the latter's monster was destroyed, and Andy took some life point damage. Andy looked at Alex and said,

"You're quite cruel, sister, to hurt your own brother like this."

Before Alex could say anything, though, Max replied, "Alex is trying to help you, and we're helping her help you. It's obvious that you're blind."

Andy looked angrily at Max and replied, "What do you know? Of course you'd side with her. I know about your obsession with her."

Max rolled his eyes and replied, "I may have had a crush on Alex, but I am over that. Perhaps if you'd just wake up Yusaku, he could confirm it for you."

Alex looked surprised and turning to Max, she replied, "I suspected something of the sort. I must get details later."

The hooded figure replied, "As curious as I am, I'm no fool. I don't plan on waking up any more of these fools."

Max shrugged and replied, "It was worth a try."

He looked at Andy and added, "Take your turn."

Andy nodded and the duel continued. Once it was Mokuba's turn, Andy gave him a look and said,

"You know, you're not even supposed to be a duelist, let alone a good one. It's obvious that my sister taught you well."

Mokuba replied, "Alex is a good teacher and a great friend. We don't have to do this. She just wants you back."

Andy raised an eyebrow and replied, "I highly doubt that. You're my replacement, after all, and she has the perfect life now."

Alex quietly replied, "I don't know why you're thinking such things, but my life isn't perfect, and no one is a replacement for you."

Mokuba nodded and added, "Alex is right. All she's ever wanted was to get you back. She just didn't know how."

Andy narrowed his eyes and replied, "The answer is obvious, or do I need to spell it out?"

Mokuba replied, "I know what Alex was originally supposed to do, but I'm glad she didn't go through with it. It wouldn't have solved anything."

Meanwhile, Kaiba saw and heard what was going on, and he couldn't help thinking how much Mokuba knew. Alex looked apologetically at Kaiba, and she hoped that she would be able to explain things to him later.

Andy said, "Enough of this. Finish your turn."

Mokuba nodded and then he synchro summoned two powerful thunder dragons on the field. He then placed three cards face down and ordered his dragons to attack. Andy was prepared for this, so he activated his trap card, intending to destroy the dragon. However, Mokuba then activated a counter trap card to negate Andy's trap card, which consequently destroyed two of Andy's monsters on the field, leaving him with only one.

The hooded figure looked at Andy and replied, "I thought you'd do better, but those three are putting up a fight."

Andy replied, "I agree, but I'm not out of options, master."

Andy then made his move although he chose not to attack, unable to find a way to get over the monsters Alex and the others had on the field. As Andy finished his turn, he looked at Alex and said,

"I hadn't expected you to use spellcaster types."

Alex smiled and replied, "It's good to be versatile. Besides, you only know about me from what you've heard from him."

She gestured towards the hooded figure before continuing, "I do have other interests, you know."

Nearby, Kaiba smiled a bit, understanding the meaning behind Alex's words.

As it was then Alex's turn, Sherlock turned to Alex and asked, "Would it be ok if I addressed your brother?"

Alex was surprised but nodding, she replied, "Sure."

Sherlock gave his thanks and then turning to Andy, he said, "Young man, I won't give you any sympathy or other such nonsense. However, you need to know the truth, which is why my colleagues and I are here."

Andy looked skeptical and replied, "What do you mean?"

Sherlock mysteriously replied, "It's time for us to solve the mystery of all mysteries."
