I'm sitting at the grill looking at James getting more and more frightened. Elena is getting more persistent about Lexi.
"Don't you think we have a few too many dead vampires in our past to be sitting here thinking of them watching us?" Alaric questions shifting around uncomfortably. Jeremy looks at an empty chair.
"Is Anna here right now?" Elena asks.
"No, no, I'm going to go, uh… check my work schedule," Jeremy says clearly lying.
He leaves and James follows him after nodding to me. Stefan sits in Jeremy's seat distracting Elena.
"Hey guys. Who forgot to invite me to the family summit?" Stefan asks. He flips through one of his journals quickly. "Hmm? Wow. All these words. I forgot how much I used to care."
"I didn't," Elena says emotionally. She clearly wants to have back what used to be.
"You know, Elena, it's probably best you not torture yourself with memories from the past. It's best we both just move on and accept things as they are," Stefan says.
"You don't have to be here, Stefan." Alaric says.
"You know what, Alaric, you're right, I don't. But Elena's here, and I look out for Elena," Stefan says looking directly at me. "Besides, there's going to be people everywhere tonight. So there's going to be lots to eat." Stefan laughs. Elena looks at him in shock, "I'm kidding. I'm kidding, Loosen up." He gets up and leaves.
"I can't drop it Ric," Elena says seriously.
"Well, good luck with that." I say getting up. I notice Stefan gesture that he wants to talk to me. I head over to him.
"Yes?" I ask.
"I'm not supposed to say that I'm looking out for you and your family as well. Klaus wants to make it look like he abandoned you. So, don't say anything." Stefan tells me.
"Well, he's doing a horrible job of it. Also, if you're going to drink blood at my house again, don't make a mess. I don't need Thor seeing it and asking questions." I tell him.
"Why does it matter?" He says laughing.
"Just because you don't care doesn't mean anything for Nik and I. Besides you said you are supposed to protect him. That means his mind as well." I say smugly. Stefan shuts up instantly. If you look in his eyes you can see the compulsion kicking in.
"I'll walk you home," he says.
"Alright," I say as we start to walk in the direction of my house.
"Lexi?" He asks surprised. We both turn around to see a blond vampire standing there.
"Hi," she exclaims.
"Aren't you supposed to be dead?" I ask confused. James better not have done anything.
"You're dead," Stefan states at the same time.
"Well, technically so are you," she says speaking to Stefan. I hope she is anyway.
"Then how the hell can I see…." Stefan trails off.
"See me?" Lexi finishes for him. "Yeah, I have no idea. And I have no idea how long it's going to last, so let's get right to the point. You're off the rails. Big time."
"Look, I don't know how you're here, but you need to leave me alone, okay?" Stefan says turning around. Lexi grabs his arm to stop him.
"Now, what kind of friend would I be if I didn't help you out of this mess you're in?" Lexi asks sarcastically.
"I don't want your help," Stefan states.
"You know, you say that everytime. I don't want your help. I don't want to get better. Leave me alone," Lexi says.
"Well, maybe you should listen this time," Stefan says.
"Or maybe I should do this," Lexi says then slams his head against the closest car window. I flinch as Stefan falls to the ground knocked out.
"Oh my god. Warn a girl." I exclaim.
"Are you going to be a problem?" Lexi asks.
"Are you going to hurt my kids or stain blood on something in my house?" I ask her in return raising one eyebrow.
"No, why would I do either of those things?" She asks bewildered.
"Then you and I will have no issues. But I do ask if you can walk me home. You knocked out my protection detail." I say pointing to the limp Stefan.
"Sure," she says. "I'm Lexi, Stefan's best friend." She introduces.
"I'm Tyra, Klaus's baby maman," I reply in the same style.
"I have seen that you are so much more then that. He seems to really care about you," Lexi says.
"Thank you, that's really nice to hear." I reply with a smile.
We arrive back at my place.
"I might see you again, but if I don't it was nice to meet you," Lexi says,
"It was nice to meet you as well," I reply heading in. She speeds off. I see Kol playing peek a boo with Freya. Jeremy comes bursting in.
"Jeremy are you alright?" I run over to him.
"Yeah, just Elena's blaming me for the ghosts becoming…" He trails off.
"Corporal," I offer.
"Yeah, corporal," he agrees.
"I can tell you that it's not your fault. Bonnie opened the door. Vicki pushed it open further. The ghosts took it and ran," I explain.
"So, you don't think it was my fault?" He asks looking relieved.
"Not at all. I know it's not your fault. You did the best you could given the circumstances." I say.
"Not even if I want Anna to be my girlfriend?" He asks.
"No, but that doesn't mean I think it's a good idea. We don't know how long this will last." I say.
"Thanks, Tyra. You always wake me feel better and never judge," he says.
"Where's James?" I ask.
"He went to Bonnie. He said he was going to offer his help to close the door again," he tells me.
"I'm glad, to here that. Are you doing to the night of illumination or what ever it's called?" I ask.
"Yeah, I was thinking about it," he says.
"The name of this reminds me of the illuminati," I admit.
"Why do you think that?" He asks.
"Because the illuminated, it was a group of scientists. They were hiding from the church," I explain.
"Wow, I never knew that." He says.
"Not many do," I say. "I love studying things like that."
"Are you going?" He asks.
"I was thinking of it. When you live in a small town it's good to participate in the town events if you want to fit in." I say.
"I guess that makes sense," Jeremy says.
"I think I'll come too," Kol says looking up from peek a boo.
"I guess we are going as a family. I should go get Thor then come pick you all up. Then we can head to the town square." I tell them.
I go pick up Thor and everyone at the house. we head to the grill for dinner. We head back to the town square. Thor is walking beside me holding Freya's stroller.
"Anna! Anna!" Jeremy yells while searching for Anna, he bumps into a man. "Sorry. Hey, man sorry about that."
No problem, buddy," the man says. He turns to Thor and Freya, "Cute kids."
"Thank you," I say getting uncomfortable.
Kol takes a step closer feeling my discomfort, but the guy walks away. Carol then steps up to the podium.
"Good evening, ladies, and gentlemen. Mr. Fell seems to have been detained. So, the history department's very own Mr. Saltzman has agreed to fill in." Carol announces.
"I don't think he had much of a chance." I say to Kol.
Him and I laugh. Everyone applauds the speech and Alaric heads to the stage. Jeremy finally spots Anna, and we walk over. She's with the creepy guy.
"There you are. Is everything all right?" Jeremy asks.
"Ask your ancestors." The man says.
"What are you doing here, Fredrick?" Anna asks. Two other men join us.
"Well, it's founders celebration. And we've got some unfinished business with the founding families," This Fredrick says about him and his two friends.
"On behalf of Mystic Falls High School Historical Society, let's light 'em up!" Alaric says.
The lanterns light up and there is applause. I scream seeing a man hanging from a tree dead. Kol quickly takes Thor into his chest to stop him from seeing it if he hasn't already seen it. I see Fredrick smile out of the corner of my eye. Jeremy calls Bonnie after Fredrick and his friends leave. He puts it on speaker for us to hear.
"What do you want, Jeremy?" I hear Caroline's voice.
"Caroline? Did you find the necklace?" Jeremy asks.
"Not yet. Wait what's going on?" Caroline asks picking up the panic going on.
"Ghost of the tomb vampires killed Tobias Fell. you might want to find that necklace before they start going alphabetically through the founding families," Jeremy says.
"Well, it's not where it's supposed to be. Unless someone took it." Caroline says,
"Who?" Jeremy asks.
"Well, who do you think?" Caroline asks. Jeremy turns and looks at Anna.
"I didn't." Anna says.
"She said she didn't take it," Jeremy says.
"Oh, and you believe her," Caroline says getting upset.
"I didn't take it, Jeremy." Anna says again. Jeremy turns his back to her.
"You know what, yeah, yeah, I do believe her," Jeremy says.
"You know what, you're an even bigger idiot than I thought. So wake up, Jeremy, before you lose everything," Caroline huffs,
"Caroline?" I catch her before she hangs up.
"Yes, Tyra." She says with a sigh.
"Is James there?" I ask.
"Yeah, he meant to text you but has been super busy since he got here," she tells me.
"I understand," I say. "Thank you, night Caroline."
"Night Tyra," she says then hangs up. Jeremy turns to where Anna was but she's gone.
"Jeremy," I call getting his attention.
"Yeah, Tyra," he says looking sad.
"I know you want to trust Anna, but this necklace being gone is the only way she can stay here. You must think about that," I say as Elena comes to join us and he looks for Anna.
"Jeremy? What happened?" Elena asks.
Jeremy catches Elena up.
"Where is Anna now?" Elena asks.
"I don't know, okay? I don't even know for sure if she took the necklace." Jeremy says getting stressed.
"She was the only person who heard us talking about it. Of course, she took it okay. We have to get it back. We have to destroy it and then close the door." Elena says.
"I know but…" Jeremy trails off.
"But what? What Jer?" Elena asks getting more and more upset.
"Enough Elena." I say. "He is in a hard spot. Give him time to process." I tell her.
"I can touch her, Elena. I can kiss her again. And I know it's wrong and I know that I shouldn't feel this way, but I do. I love her. I've always loved her," Jeremy says.
"But it's not real, she's dead. Gone. Everything that you're holding on to is in the past, Jer," Elena accuses.
"Pot meet kettle," I say.
"What?" She asks spinning to me.
"Pot meet kettle. You're holding on to the old Stefan. He is gone. To Jeremy, Anna has been real since he was brought back. Give him some time to grieve. If he loves her, he loves her. He doesn't have to stop now that she's dead. I'm not saying he shouldn't move on, but he can still love her. There is nothing wrong with that." I explain.
"Are you serious Tyra?" She screeches she quickly turns to Jeremy again. "Are you going to love a ghost for the rest of your life, Jeremy?" Elena asks.
"Did you not hear Tyra? I understand your both dumb and stupid, but he can love Anna if he wants," Kol defends him reminding us that he is there.
Anna appears behind Jeremy.
"Anna, Jeremy needs to move forward. Though he may always love you, he needs to move forward with his life," I say.
Anna hands the necklace to Jeremy.
"Call Bonnie. Tell her that you have the necklace. Get her to send the ghosts away." Elena says walking away not caring about Jeremy's feelings.
"I can take the necklace to Bonnie giving you two a chance to say good-bye. Kol and I will walk to give you more time," I offer.
He hands me the necklace. I give Anna a hug.
"I have a feeling we will meet again," I whisper in her ear.
"It was great to meet you as well, Tyra," she says smiling, Kol and I walk to the old witch house. Kol is pushing Freya's stroller. Thor is skipping around not going to far from us. We arrive at the house.
"Bonnie, I have your necklace," I say standing at the door. Kol stays outside with Freya and Thor. I walk in. She smiles at me.
"Thank you, Tyra," she says taking the necklace, I see an older woman there. "This is my grandmother Sheila," Bonnie introduces.
"Hello, I'm Tyra," I reply.
"Thank you for looking out for me granddaughter. You are raising a mighty fine witch there in James," she says to me.
"Thank you," I reply.
James, Bonnie and Sheila join hands doing a spell. I leave the house, heading back to my kids. A little while later James joins us,
"It's done," he says,
Bonnie steps out as well.
"Let's all get home then. Bonnie you can sleep at my place. That way you aren't alone." I tell them as we all walk back to the house.
