Joey shuddered at the thought that had just ran through his brain.
Joey had never liked Kaiba, he always thought that he was an egotistcal jerk.
So why were Joey's thoughts invaded with thoughts of Kaiba?
Why had the pretty blonde boy been fantasizing about the tall lean brunette whose dueling skills were beyond incomparable?
"Joey!! What the heck is up with you man?" "Wh-wh-what? Joey managed to stammer.
"It's me dumbass...Tristan. Where have you been buddy? I was talking with you and all of a sudden you just spaced off.
What were you thinking of? Could anything be that important to not pay attention to what I'm telling you right now?"
"Umm, no Tristan. I'm sorry, my mind just kind of wandered off. I don't know where my head's been lately."
"Well there, wherever your head wandered off too, please try to keep it where it belongs next time will you Joey?
I don't like it when people space off on me. I think it's rude and unconsiderate."
"You should be the one to talk Tristan, you're always spacing off when you're talking to me!!"
"Well Joey, what would you expect? You're just boring and well uninteresting, to say the least,"
Tristan said fully knowing that that would set Joey off on his random tangent.
Tristan turned out to be right..."What do you mean that I'm boring and uninteresting? I'm nowhere close to being that.
You just wish you were me, you just wish you have what I have. I swear to God Trisan, you don't know what the hell you're talking about."
"Hmm, you're right Joey. I do wish I had what you had. You know why? I want what you have, because if I did then I would have Serenity, and that's good enough for me."
"Damn you Tristan, don't talk about Serenity like that. Besides, she doesn't like you...she likes Tristan. So ya know what?
Get over yourself you pig-headed freak!!"
"Gee Joey, just because she likes Kaiba doesn't mean things won't change!"
"Tristan, you try and get near my sister, and you will...I...I don't know yet, but you will pay.
Mark my words dear friend, you will pay."
"Right there Joey. You're in no position to make empty threats."
"Empty threats?" Joey repeated. "Empty threats my ass!" shouted Joey as he lunged toward Tristan and knocking him to the ground.
Joey was right on top of Tristan preparing to beat the shit out of him for his unnecessary comments. Joey raised his fist and punched Tristan.
Tristan, though now with a black eye, was on the ground laughing at Joey. Joey was slightly confused at his friend's behavior.
He didn't know why Tristan was so glad about getting his face beat up on. Tristan tackled Joey and brought Joey down while taking the chance to stand up.
Now Tristan had the upper hand in this fight. He never thought that Joey would take it this far. He loved pushing his buttons and getting him mad, but Joey had never made a move before.
Joey got up, turned to Tristan and said "You know what? I'm going to be the bigger man here, and I'm just going to walk away. I'm not going to say anything. And remember what I said...
If you try to get near my sister...you will pay."
With those final words Joey walked away. He didn't know what he was doing or where he was going, but he just needed some time to clear his head and think about things.
He remembered a place he would always go to when he felt upset. Of course, he was on the other side of the country, so that place would be nowhere around.
