A Psychic's Quest
Chapter 8: The night before

It was now nighttime at the Smasher's home. The lights were off, the crickets were chirping and all of the Smashers were sleeping soundly. Well, all but one, at least. Ness sat upon the edge of his bed, holding onto the straps of his backpack. He had just packed it with his weapons: His Yo-yo and Gusty bat and was ready to throw it on at anytime. Tonight, he had vowed, that he would not sleep. Not out of fear of the new evil, but out of fear that Mewtwo and his group would leave without him. He had lost the fight, thus meaning it was up to him to follow the group. Ness sighed and looked at the clock. It read: 2:40. "AAAARGH!" He went, dropping his bag and flopping back onto the bed. "I don't understand. Do they want to take that annoying girl?" Ness muttered, closing his eyes. "I thought they would leave at ni-"

"Yeah! First Place!"

Ness opened his eyes and looked around. "Huh? Captain Falcon?" He looked around the room. The voice he had just heard was Captain Falcon, but the race car driver was no where to be seen. Ness shrugged it off and closed his eyes again.

"HAHA! At last-a, Mario, I've defeat you! Now the wor-"

He opened his eyes again and looked around. It was Luigi this time, but once again, no sign of the person. "I must be tired. I'm hearing voices in my head!" Ness said with a laugh, which quickly stopped. He had just remembered something. "Oh yeah, I can read minds!" The teen closed his eyes and began to search through the many minds floating aimlessly through the mansion. He figured that if he can read minds, he should be able to pick up on Mewtwo and find out what he's about to do.

"Nana, the Eggplants have eyes... They can't be good for you..."

"Does-a this white coat make me look-a fat?"

"Beep! Beep!"

"Mama-Mia! That's-a spice meatball!"

"Popo, the Eggplants have eyes... They can't be good for you..."

"ROY! I LOVE YOU!"

"...You're not my mother!"

"Wow..." Ness said, his eyes still closed. "I thought my dreams were weird."

"My preciousssss..."

"Yes, I'm a girl! My dream has come true!"

"I'm flying! Look at me everyone, I'm flying!"

"Boba Fett is my hero."

"Wish I had a Japanese ba-na-na, it would be so very nice. Want a juicy Japanese ba-na-na, don't want the cherries and rice."

"I've always loved you Ness!"

"Wha?" The boy tried to re-calm that dream, but it had already passed on and out of his reach.

"...And Burn?" It was Mewtwo. But Ness noticed something about his thought. It wasn't a dream, but it sounded like he was talking to someone.

"Sleeping in the guest room." Replied Sabrina. The two of them were talking through PSI. Ness smirked to himself, knowing that now he'd learn if the group was about to head out. "I couldn't find Mew."

"Wake him." Said Mewtwo. "And wake Chaotzu. Ness and Raven should been sleeping by now. This is our last chance to get without and kids to slow us down."

"Okay. One question, will you just teleport us out of the house? Those stairs are pretty noisy."

"Well-"

"He can't! He can only teleport you to the door." Said Ness's mind. He didn't know what he had just done until it was too late. "Shit!"

"Indeed." Answered Mewtwo. "I thought you'd be sleeping by now. My mistake."

There was surge of psychic energy, causing Ness to open his eyes and let out a slight yelp of pain. "Ooh..." Moaned Ness, sitting up. "Aw man, he blocked me..."

------

Mewtwo let out a sigh and turned towards his visitor, Sabrina. "I forgot he could read minds." He said. "I guess its safer to speak normally now, incase he gets pass my barrier."

"What did he mean when he said you can only teleport us to the door?" Sabrina asked, not caring about Ness.

"Master Hand put a some sorta magic field, I dunno, around the mansion. We can only use a little of our powers." Said Mewtwo. "Once outside, however, I'll be able to teleport us anywhere we'd like."

"That boy teleported while still in the house."

"That power of his isn't one of his four moves."

"What?"

"Never mind. It's not worth explaining right now." Mewtwo sighed, sitting down on his bed. He paused and thought about everything that was going on that was going to happen. Sabrina was about to open her mouth to say something when Mewtwo interrupted. "There is no way we can get out of this house without the kids anymore. Ness is already down by the front door and Raven is locked onto our PSI signals."

Sabrina thought of the events taking place. "Then perhaps it is time we look at these kids at a different view." Mewtwo glanced over and raised and eyebrow. "Raven's powers are not psychic, so Gueyas's power might not effect her. And the boy, Ness, has already fought a Gigan. He might know a way to defeat it."

The cat gave a laugh. "I never thought of it that way. Wow, I feel like such an idiot now."

"You should."

"What did you say?"

Sabrina chuckled. "Nothing."

Click, Click.

The two psychics turned and looked at Mewtwo's door. The doorknob was turning back and forth quickly, in a vain attempt to open the locked door. "Must be Ness." Mewtwo said, floating towards the door. "Don't worry Ness." He lightly yelled. "We didn't lea-" Mewtwo's eyes shot wide open as he felt a strong power signal. "Duck."

The two fell to the ground just as the door was smashed in by a very powerful punch and was sent flying across the room. Mewtwo and Sabrina stood up and backed up as Ganondorf, Link and Zelda all marched into the room. "They're being controlled." Sabrina told Mewtwo.

"Seems that way." Mewtwo agreed. "Quick lesson, watch out for Link's bombs, when Ganondorf screams, duck and don't be on the wrong side of Zelda's kick."

Sabrina nodded and the two got into a fighting position, ready to fight off the keepers of the Triforce.
