Authors Notes- And here I am back again with YET ANOTHER Transformers fanfic. This one revolving around the Ratchet x June ship. Because there is like VERY little when it comes to this pairing. And I've always kind of wanted to write something for them. And now, here it is! And that's enough rambling from me. Here is the first chapter to First Do No Harm. As you can gather by now I only own the plot. Whereas Hasbro owns Transformers. And now please enjoy!

Chapter I: Calm Before The Storm.

Ratchet liked the quiet. Not that he didn't like the children when they were around. Even if Miko's tendency to play loud music and her tendency to be rather exuberant which could grate on the nerve of everyone involved. And well, it was no surprise that the old medic was rather fond of Raf. The young kid proving to be most useful in the most trying of times. And at other times Ratchet found Raf's insatiable thirst for knowledge in wanting to know everything about Cybertron endearing.

And there was Jack, well, as he mentioned before Jack reminded him of Optimus, he liked Jack. Hell, he liked all their human allies. Sure, he himself would never want to be partnered with one of them. After all, he was always far too busy trying to keep things running. To make sure the team got back safely. To sometimes fixing them up when they were injured. It was safe to say that the team would be lost without him. At least... that's how Ratchet liked to think. So being paired with a human wasn't really in the cards for him.

And yet, when June Darby decided to pay the Autobots and her son a rare visit he actually stopped what he was doing to watch the older woman in question. He couldn't put his finger on it, but maybe it had something to do with the fact that they were both in a medical profession. Or maybe it was because she was an older human, and thus just a bit more mature than the kids. Ratchet mused as she embraced her son, before turning to him. Ratchet blinked as she looked up at him. He couldn't put a finger on it, but there was something wrong. June wasn't her normally cheerful self. Even when she had greeted him with a bright smile that made his fuel pump skip.

But not today, fact she seemed...troubled. "Good morning, Ratchet." She greeted, the smile on her face seeming...forced.

"Nurse Darby." Ratchet tilted her helm in her direction. Ratchet's gaze remained fixed on her, as she moved to speak with Agent Fowler. Tearing his gaze away from the woman he looked to Jack, who seemed unaware that something was wrong. "So," Ratchet said, rubbing at the back of his helm. "What brings you here today, Nurse Darby."

"Oh, I just figured I'd stop by and see how you and Jack are doing." She said.

"That's all?" Jack asked, brow furrowing.

Forcing a smile to her lips as she looked to her son. A smile that soon disappeared when her phone chimed. And Ratchet was sure his frown mirrored Jack's own when she nearly jumped out of her skin.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Jack asked, watching her from the corner of his eye.

Forcing another smile to her face June placed a hand on his shoulder. "I am I'm just dealing with a problematic co-worker." June said.

No, Jack thought, blue eyes narrowing as he looked to his mother. There's something else going on. The video game he had been playing long forgotten, as he watched as June tensed when her phone chimed again. Eyes narrowing as she glanced at the screen before hastily shoving it back in her pocket.

"Maybe you should talk to your supervisor about this co-worker that is harassing you." Ratchet suggested, making Jack look in the Autobots direction. Seeing the same look on Ratchet's face plate that was no doubt on his.

Obviously Ratchet could also sense that something was up. No doubt fighting a war and spending his time patching up more than a few patients had made the old Autobot observant to such things as hiding secrets, like his mom currently was. Which did not sit well with him. Jack placed the controller on the table and moved to where June was standing. All his life she was telling him over and over again and again not to keep secrets from her. And he knew if she did find out he was keeping secrets from her then it would only be a matter of time before she sniffed them out. Hell, if it wasn't for MECH and Airachnid he was certain she would have found out about Arcee and the Autobots on her own eventually.

How? Jack had no idea, but that was how his mom was. And now here she was keeping secrets from him. But that being said, he knew his mom could be stubborn. Much like him.

"Thanks." June said, smiling up at the medic. "I might just do that if they don't stop." She emphasized that last part as her phone chimed once more.

Jack suppressed the urge as she tensed once more. Obviously this co-worker was a piece of work. If anything she told him was true. "So," Jack started. "What brings you here?" he asked, realizing that prying into her life here and now wouldn't do him any good.

"Something wrong in wanting to visit with my son?" June asked. "Besides Agent Fowler said he had needed my help." She told him, just as the man in question walked up to her once more.

"And just in time too." Fowler said, a smile on his face as he adjusted his tie. "I have some medical supplies for you that I keep meaning to bring to you. But since you said you'd be stopping by I figured why not now?" Jack watched as the two adults walk off, as June's phone chimed once more, and once more she tensed. "And if its not too much trouble we got some work around here you could help with, unless you you have somewhere to be." Fowler suggested, his smile wavering slightly as he watched her.

Noting the relief washing over her as he offered that, an offer she seemed all too eager to accept.

"Something wrong?" Ratchet asked, that same frown etched on her face plate, as Jack watched as June walked off.

Jack said nothing as he looked to the medic and merely shook his head. Though Ratchet didn't know did her all too well he still found himself drawn to her. Perhaps that's why he found her behavior odd. Something was definitely wrong...

She was fine. A lie she told herself over and over again as the day went on. Even when she found out that he was back and that he had found her again. A shiver ran down her spine at that thought. The person in question? Was her ex-husband, and man she had thought she had left behind years ago. And yet- Bing! She nearly dropped the box of medical supplies she had been carrying.

Swallowing the lump in her throat she reached into her pocket. Ever since he had found her number, and thankfully he only seemed to know her number, he had been blowing up her phone. But the question on her mind was how? How he had found her number was beyond her. Ever since she had left him she had done her best to disappear. A feat that was easier said than done when she had been pregnant at the time. But she had done it. And for a while after that she had been constantly looking over her shoulder, half expecting to see him standing behind her with that look on his face.

The very same look he had on his face whenever she had done something he had deemed wrong. A look that always told her that she was going to be hurt. Another shiver ran down her spine as she recalled those countless times, when she would find herself laying on the ground, him standing over her as her blood dripped onto the floor from her nose or lip. Something that would set him off even further, and he would drive his foot into her already bruised ribs. Yelling about how she was making a mess. And what had been worst? Was that she had no one she could turn to when she had been married to him. Not like anyone would have ever believed her. He had been the type of person who anyone and everyone loved. So, what choice did she have?

Stay and eventually get killed by him, or stay and risk not only her getting killed but her unborn child as well. And when Jack was born how would she have known he wouldn't do the same to him? Those weren't options for her. So she ran, and for several years she was safe... until today.

Swallowing thickly June opened up her phone, biting down on her bottom lip as she saw the unrecognizable number. Obviously he had changed his number since the last time they had spoke. No doubt as to not be recognized. Her gaze then went to the numerous text messages. All of them trying to get a response from her. All of them sickly sweet comments, some passive aggressive. But there was one thing she noticed in all of his messages was the pet name he had called her. A name she loved when they had first met. And now one that left her feeling sick to her stomach.

June Bug.

And now there was one more message at the very end. "I just want to see you, June Bug."

Tears welled in her blue eyes as she read these messages. It was a nightmare. It had to be, she tried to tell herself, as she placed a hand over her mouth as she finally blocked the number and shut her phone. Silently wishing that she had done so when she got the first message from him. Shoving the phone back in her pocket June wiped angrily at her eyes. Kicking herself for feeling so weak, for breaking down like that. Forcing those thoughts from her head she took a deep breath and stepped out of the small room where she had been gathering supplies.

She would deal with this, like she had before. After all, June thought, I need to protect him at all cost. She just hoped that she wasn't in over her head.

Authors Notes- And here is the first chapter of my new fanfic. In all honesty I always kind of wondered about Jack's dad and then this idea popped up. And thus the first chapter of First Do No Harm was born. And that it all I have to say. This is Blackjack signing off.
