Danny woke up a couple hours later in Sabrina's bed. He'd healed in part due to a healing potion Zelda gave to him, and also due to his ghostly metabolism. He recognized it immediately, he'd been in her room a couple times. Hilda, Zelda, Sabrina and Salem stood in front of the bed. "Danny, you're awake!" Sabrina smiled as she ran up and hugged him, tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay!" she said. He hugged her back. "Yeah, I'm fine. I'm glad you're okay." he told her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Near death experience aside." Sabrina said. "Sabrina saw what happened and called us." Zelda said. Danny began to feel guilty that she found out his secret this way. "So, I guess you all... know my secret." he said.
"Yeah." Sabrina said. "I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you, but I wasn't sure how to." he said. "It's okay, I know you did." she said. "So you're... not mad?" he asked. "Nah, I'm surprised it took me this long to realize, I mean, why'd you pick an alias that similar to your actual name?" she asked. "Could be worse, initially everyone called me Inviso-Bill." Danny said. Sabrina laughed. "Inviso-Bill? Yeah, you're right, that's bad!" she said.
"We're just glad you're feeling better." Hilda said.
"Yeah, remind us never to get on whoever did this to you's bad side. You were in pretty bad shape when you got here." Salem said.
Danny's eyes widened with shock. "Whoa! I must still be pretty out of it because I think I heard your cat just talk!" He exclaimed. "Nope, he talks. Actually Danny, I have to tell you something: I'm a half-witch." Sabrina said. Salem knew they'd be there a while explaining everything to Danny so he left to go watch TV.
"Wait, really?" Danny asked. Sabrina nodded. "My mom is a mortal, and my dad is a warlock, hence why I'm only a half-witch. I'll become a full witch when I turn sixteen." she explained. "The Witch Counsel really frowned upon their marriage. They hate when mortals learn about the supernatural." Hilda said. "In the meantime, since my magic is a bit weaker than my Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda's magic, I borrow most of my spells from the Spooky Jar, a genie who lives in the purple cookie jar in our basement. He talks entirely in rhyme." Sabrina continued. "Witches are very powerful, far more powerful than ghosts." Hilda said.
Danny tried to take it all in. "So, last week, when Skulker tried to kidnap your Aunt Hilda, and his suit disappeared, that was one of you guys' doing?" he asked. "Guilty!" Sabrina admitted, giggling a little. "Does anyone else know about your secret?" Danny asked. "Just Chloe, you, and my Uncle Quigley." Sabrina said. "Quigley is Sabrina's maternal uncle, while we're her paternal aunt's. Zelda and I are much older than we look, we're actually over five hundred years old. As punishment for abusing our magic, we were trapped in the bodies of teenagers." Hilda explained.
"Since my Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda weren't physically eighteen yet, my Uncle Quigley was head of the household until they were. My Aunt Zelda is the head of the household now." Sabrina said. Danny nodded in understandment. "Thank God! Don't even get me started on Quigley! I love the man, I really do, he's a sweetheart, but he was ridiculously nitpicky and controlling, banning us from using magic at almost any cost and acting as some kind of overlord over us, even though Zelda and I are older than him." Hilda vented.
Sabrina laughed. "You aren't wrong. Anyway, my Aunt Zelda is a much more reasonable guardian than my Uncle Quigley. She does still have a lot of rules, and I do still get punished if I'm too reckless or irresponsible with using magic, but she doesn't outright ban magic, and she can be lenient when needed." she explained. "And, uh, what about your cat?" Danny asked. "Salem? He used to be an evil warlock but was turned into a cat as punishment for trying to take over the world." She explained.
"WHAT!?!" Danny yelled in shock. "Don't worry, as a cat, he's snarky but he's pretty much harmless." Zelda said. "So Danny, how did you get your powers?" Sabrina asked. "Remember the other day in my parents' lab when you wondered what would happen if you activate the ghost portal from the inside? Well, my powers are what would happen." Danny explained. "Wow!" Sabrina said in shock, her eyes widening.
"Yeah. Sam and Tucker were there, so they know, and so does my sister Jazz, and Vlad..." it was when he mentioned his arch enemy's name that it occurred to him what Vlad had planned all along: he was trying to out Danny and Sabrina to each other in the hopes that they'd turn on one another, possibly getting him killed and causing a divide between his parents.
"Of course! Vlad! I finally figured it out!" he exclaimed. "Figured what out? What are you talking about?" Sabrina asked, confused. "Vlad's half-ghost like me. That lab accident is what gave him his ghost powers, he was the ghost I fought. Those two vultures and Skulker are his henchmen. Skulker must've seen you cast that spell that got rid of his suit. It makes so much sense. The other day he told me to stay away from you but, I didn't think much of it, I figured he was just being creepy like he usually is, but apparently he knows you guys are witches. I could tell he was up to something, but I didn't know what, until now. He was trying to expose our secrets to each other, which is why he had one of his vultures drop you from that high." Danny explained.
"Don't remind me." Sabrina shuddered, traumatized by that near death experience.
"Sorry. Anyway, he probably thought you'd cast a spell to save yourself, but you couldn't since there were witnesses. So he zapped me and exposed me to you." Danny said. "But why?" Sabrina asked.
"Probably because he thought you and your aunt's would turn on me and kill me, and he knew that would eventually lead to my parents finding out my secret. He knows my parents would still love me even if they did find out that I'm Danny Phantom, or at least, he knows my mom would. That old fruitloop naturally assumed my Dad is as heartless as he is, and that my death would cause a divide between him and my mom and he'd finally have her to himself." Danny explained.
"Wow, that's downright pathetic. He clearly needs to move on." Hilda said. Sabrina told them all about Vlad and how worked up Danny was the other day after seeing him. "Besides, he clearly underestimated us. We all adore you, especially Sabrina." she added. Danny blushed and smiled a little. "Plus, like I said, everyone has skeletons in their closet. You saved my sister and my niece. You're a hero in my book." Zelda said.
"Thanks, guys. Since Chloe knows you guys are witches, you can tell her about me." Danny told Sabrina. "Alright. Does that mean I have to tell Sam and Tucker about my secret?" She asked. "Well, you don't have to, but you're more than welcome to if you want." Danny said. "Okay. Since you trust them, so do I." Sabrina smiled.
"What about the Witch Counsel? You said they don't like mortals knowing about the supernatural." Danny said. "Yeah but, since this town knows about ghosts, I think that rule pretty much gets thrown out the window. Just don't tell everyone." Zelda said.
Later on, Sabrina was at Danny's house, Sam was video chatting with him on the laptop and Tucker was there. She just told them about her and her family's secret.
"YOU'RE A WITCH!?!" Sam and Tucker practically yelled in shock. Danny shushed them. "Keep it down, guys. My parents are downstairs!" he told them. "This is awesome! Do you have a spellbook? A cauldron? A broom?!* Sam asked in excitement, like a little kid in a candy store. She loved witches. "Yes, yes, and yes." Sabrina couldn't help but laugh. "I thought it was cool that ghosts exist but witches!?! Man, it sure sucks I had to move!" Sam said.
