So why don't they name their ships?
"So why don't they name them?", Jack asked as he stared out into space. He, the rest of SG-1, and Jacob were on their way back from their latest mission. He was bored and the thought suddenly occurred.
"Name what, sir?", Sam asked, glancing back at him from her seat.
"These ships. They don't even name the mother ships. Why don't they have some sorta name. You know, like Enterprise or something?"
"I really don't think the Gou'auld would name one of their ships Enterprise.", Daniel replied, looking very amused.
"Yeah, okay, but you get my point. They don't name their ships. Everyone names ships. A ship's got to have a name. Except for some reason apparently the snakes haven't ever figured that out. Hey Teal'C why don't the Gou'auld ever name their ships?"
"I do not know, O'Neil.", Teal'C replied.
"Jacob?", Jack asked
"No idea, Jack.", Jacob replied.
"Yeah, but it's a Tok'ra thing too. You guys never name your ships either. Why don't you?"
"I don't know, Jack. Although it is a bit odd when you stop and think about it. Why don't we name our ships."
"I mean for cryin' out loud, even the Asgard name their ships."
"You mean like the O'NEIL", Daniel said, sarcastically.
"Yeah, great name for a ship.", Jack said, ignoring Daniel sarcasm. Sam chuckled quietly.
"Maybe it's a Gou'auld thing retained by the Tok'ra.", She said, bring the topic back to the matter at hand.
"What, they get rid of all the other stuff, but can't shake the inability to name their own starships?"
"I can't believe that we're actually having a conversation about why they don't name their starships.", Daniel said shaking his head. The others nodded in agreement with him. They all turned to look at Jack.
"What? It's been a long flight." They all sighed and shook their heads.
