Meeting Klara
Ten minutes later after leaving Wedgehurst, the Louds and Clyde finally arrived at the Isle of Armor. Once they landed, they all stepped out of their booths and entered the station.
"Well, we're here everyone." said Lincoln.
"So what now, bro?" asked Luna. Just then, a lady wearing a lab coat nearby walks over to them.
"Pardon me." said the woman. Lincoln's group turn to look at her.
"Can we help you?" asked Lincoln.
"Do you have pokedexes in your Rotom Phones?" asked the woman.
"Yeah, why?" asked Leni.
"I have an update for pokedexes containing information on Pokemon found here on the Isle of Armor and I was wondering if I can upload it to your Rotom Phones." said the woman.
"Sure. It can be useful while we're here." said Lincoln.
"Great. Now this will only take a second." said the woman as she takes out her Rotom Phone. She then uploads the update to all their Rotom Phones.
"Thanks." said Lincoln.
"You're welcome. Have a nice day." said the woman. Lana turns to look at everyone.
"So now what?" asked Lana.
"I guess the first thing we can do is explore the area outside this station and see what kinds of Pokemon there are." said Lincoln.
"Yeah. Maybe we can try out our PokeTranslators while we're at it." said Lana.
"Good idea. Let's go." said Clyde. As they headed for the station's front door, they see a man suddenly rush in with a nervous look on his face.
"Hey, dude. What's up with you?" asked Luna.
"I came here to join the Master Dojo. But there's this strange woman just outside that's making me nervous." said the man. Just then, the door opens, making the man run off. The others watch as the woman they met in Wedgehurst walks into the station.
"So there you are. You're pretty punctual for a kid." the woman says to Clyde.
"Excuse me?" Clyde responded.
"Hey. Have we met before or something?" asked the woman.
"Yes. We met back in Wedgehurst a short while ago. I was the kid who caught that Slowpoke. You said the way I did it was the absolute coolest." answered Clyde. The woman's eyes widen in realization.
"Now I remember. So you're the new student for the Master Dojo?" asked the woman.
"No, not exactly. My friends and I came here to check out the Pokemon that live here." said Clyde.
"I think the person you're looking for was the guy who just left." said Luna.
"Oh. Well, that's a shame. I was supposed to bring him to the Master Dojo." said the woman.
"I'm sorry Ms...Wait. We never introduced ourselves back in Wedgehurst, did we." said Clyde.
"Oh, where are my manners? My name is Klara." said the woman now identified as Klara.
"I'm Clyde McBride." said Clyde.
"I'm Lincoln Loud." said Lincoln.
"I'm one of his sisters, Leni." said Leni.
"I'm Luna." said Luna.
"I'm Lana." said Lana.
"I'm Lola." said Lola.
"I'm Lucy." says Lucy from behind Klara, scaring her a bit.
"Where did you come from?!" asked Klara.
"She does that a lot." said Lincoln. Leni stares at Klara's outfit.
"Eww. That jacket totes doesn't go with that uniform." says Leni. Klara stares at Leni.
"Oh, what would you know about fashion?" Klara replied. Leni looked offended.
"Excuse me?! I'm one of the most fashionable people back in my hometown." Leni replies.
"Please. I'm the most fashionable people on the planet." said Klara as she and Leni glare at each other. Lincoln gets between them.
"Come on. Let's not get into a fight." said Lincoln. Leni gently brushes Lincoln aside.
"Stay out of this, Lincoln. This is between me and her." said Leni.
"How about we settle this with a Pokemon battle." suggested Klara.
"Fine by me. Let's go outside." said Leni. Klara turns and exits the station with everyone else following behind her. When they stepped outside, Lincoln and his group took in the surrounding area. The area had some trees and a beach nearby. Also nearby, they see what looks like a temple. Klara stands ready with a pokeball in her hand.
"I hope you're ready to lose." said Klara. Leni pulls out one of her pokeballs.
"If by lose you mean 'win easily', then I'm totes ready." said Leni. Klara throws her pokeball and releases a bug Pokemon that was mostly magenta with some green on it's tail end with yellow eyes, antennae with black stripes on them and black rings on the side of its body. Lincoln takes out his pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Venipede, the Centipede Pokemon. Its fangs are highly venomous. If this Pokemon finds prey it thinks it can eat, it leaps for them without any thought for how things might turn out." said the pokdex. Leni throws her pokeball and releases her Vulpix.
"You ready for this, Vulpix?" asked Leni.
"Yes, I am, Leni." said Vulpix. Leni and the others, except for Lincoln widen their eyes with glee.
"I understood what she said." said Lana.
"Me, too." said Lana.
"I'm liking these PokeTranslators already." said Clyde. Back at the battle, Leni made her move.
"Okay, Vulpix. Use Incinerate." said Leni.
"You got it!" said Vulpix as she launches some fireballs out of her mouth which hit Venipede, doing super-effective damage.
"Good thinking, Leni. Venipede is a bug-type Pokemon so they're vulnerable against fire-type attacks." said Lincoln.
"Oh, yeah?! Venipede, use Poison Tail." said Klara. Venipede's tail started to glow purple and it swings it at Vulpix, hitting her.
"Vulpix! Are you okay?" asked Leni.
"Don't worry, Leni. That was nothing." said Vulpix. Suddenly, Vulpix started looking a little sick.
"What's wrong, Vulpix?" asked Leni.
"Poison Tail has a chance of poisoning its target." said Lincoln. "I suggest finishing this battle quickly before the poison becomes too much for Vulpix."
"Good idea, Linky. Hurry, Vulpix. Hit Venipede with one more Incinerate." said Leni. Vulpix quickly launches another Incinerate attack at Venipede which hits and manages to knock it out.
"Good job, sis." said Luna. Leni smiles, but stops when she notices that Vulpix is struggling to stay standing.
"You did enough, Vulpix." said Leni as she returns Vulpix to her pokeball.
"You did the right thing, Leni. Vulpix really needed a break." said Lana. Leni looks at Lana and nods. Meanwhile, Klara returns her Venipede to its pokeball.
"You got lucky. But let's see you beat my best Pokemon." said Klara as she pulls out another pokeball and throws it, releasing a Slowpoke. Lincoln, remembering they never used their pokedexes to learn about the Slowpoke that Clyde caught back in Wedgehurst, takes out his pokedex and points it at Klara's Slowpoke.
"Slowpoke, the Dopey Pokemon. Although this Pokemon is normally zoned out, its expression abruptly sharpens on occasion. The cause for this seems to lie in Slowpoke's diet." said the pokedex. Leni pulls out another of her pokeballs and throws it, releasing Ralts.
"Be careful, Ralts." said Leni.
"I will, Leni. Don't you worry." said Ralts, making Leni squeal with delight.
"I totes love being able to understand what you're saying." says Leni. Ralts smiles at Leni. "Okay, Ralts. Use Psybeam on Slowpoke." Ralts releases a beam of psychic energy which hits Slowpoke, but doesn't seem to do a lot of damage.
"Leni. The pokedex says that Slowpoke is a psychic-type Pokemon. Psychic-type moves aren't going to be very effective against it." said Lincoln.
"Sorry." said Leni.
"Don't worry about it. At least now you know." said Lincoln.
"Okay, Slowpoke. Use Acid." said Klara. Slowpoke releases a glob of orange liquid out of its mouth which hits Ralts, doing super effective damage.
"Careful, Leni. Ralts is part fairy-type, so poison-type moves like Acid are super-effective against her." said Lincoln.
"Thanks. Are you still okay to battle, Ralts?" asked Leni.
"I am, Leni. I believe in you." said Ralts.
"She speaks for all of us, sis." said Luna.
"We're all right behind you." said Lana.
"Take this diva down!" said Lola.
"You got it." said Leni. "Ralts, use Draining Kiss." Ralts runs to Slowpoke and kisses its head, draining some of its stamina and healing Ralts a bit. Klara growls at this.
"Slowpoke, use Yawn." said Klara. Slowpoke yawns, confusing the others.
"What was that about?" asked Clyde.
"You'll see." said Klara with a smirk.
"Hurry, Ralts. Use Disarming Voice." said Leni. Ralts releases a yell which travels at Slowpoke and damages it. All of a suddden, Ralts falls asleep.
"Ralts? Why are you taking a nap now?" asked Leni. Klara chuckles.
"My Slowpoke's Yawn attack kicked in. The Pokemon it's used on will fall asleep after a while. Now you're Ralts is defenseless." said Klara.
"Oh no. What do I do?" asked Leni.
"Don't worry. Ralts will wake up soon. Let's just hope that she wakes up before Slowpoke does too much damage." said Lincoln.
"Slowpoke, hurry and hit Ralts with another Acid attack." said Klara. Slowpoke launches another Acid attack at Ralts.
"Ralts! Look out!" yells Leni. Suddenly, Ralts wakes up and quickly dodges the Acid attack. Klara was shocked.
"How did she wake up already?!" asked Klara.
"I heard when a trainer and Pokemon share a strong bond with each other, the Pokemon becomes capable of many things; like curing itself of status conditions, keeping themselves from passing out from hits that would've knocked them out, or landing critical hits more easily. Leni's bond with her Ralts must be strong." said Lincoln.
"Really. I'm gonna bond with my Pokemon more often." said Lana.
"So are all of us." said Luna. Leni stares back at Klara.
"You're going down! Now, Ralts. Hit Slowpoke with one more Draining Kiss." said Leni.
"You got it!" said Ralts. Ralts runs to Slowpoke and hits it with another Draining Kiss, healing herself some more and doing just enough damage to knock Slowpoke out.
"NOOO!" said Klara. "That was my last Pokemon!"
"That means you win, Leni!" said Lana.
"Yay! We did it, Ralts!" said Leni. Ralts runs to Leni and the two of them hug. Klara returns her Slowpoke to its pokeball. She then stares at Leni.
"I'll admit that you have some skill. But you only won because I wasn't going all out." said Klara.
"Like whatever." said Leni. Klara glares at Leni some more.
"Well anyway, I better get back to the Master Dojo and tell Ms Honey about the new student changing his mind about joining. I hope we DON'T meet again soon. You can enjoy the sights, but stay away from the Master Dojo if you know what's good for you." said Klara. Leni and Klara glare at each other one more time before Klara turns and runs off. Leni goes over to the others. Lincoln pulls out a peach-shaped berry and some Oran Berries.
"What's that berry for, Lincoln?" asked Leni.
"This is a Pecha Berry. It can cure poison. You should give this and these Oran Berries to your Vulpix quickly." said Lincoln as she hands the berries to Leni. Leni lets her Vulpix out of her pokeball and she gives her the berries. Vulpix's poisoning was instantly gone and she recovered her stamina.
"Thanks, Linky." said Leni. "How are you feeling, Vulpix?"
"A lot better now. Thanks, Leni." said Vulpix as she nuzzles Leni's leg.
"So, what now guys?" asked Lola.
"Let's start exploring and see what Pokemon we can find." said Lana.
"I want to find more cute Pokemon." said Lola.
"I'm interested in what other ghost Pokemon could be here." said Lucy.
"Before we do, I want to learn about my Slowpoke." said Clyde as he releases his Slowpoke and points his pokedex at him. "This says my Slowpoke is a guy, he knows Tackle, Curse, Growl, Acid, Yawn, and Confusion. He has the Own Tempo ability which prevents him from becoming confused." Clyde then returns Slowpoke to his pokeball.
"Okay, guys. Let's go." said Lincoln. Everyone else raises a fist and cheer in response.
