Prophecy Princess
Prologue
"The Granddaughter of the Princes will rise, taking by her side a lion and snake as her mates. Together the triad will form, and they will bring a new age upon the word. By the end of the war, Light will prevail, or darkness will spread upon the wizarding world, plunging witch, wizard, of pure, half, or muggle blood, into a new depth of darkness none of this age has ever known."
Severus Snape, 21 year old, Slytherin, Potions Extrodanaire, Death Eater, Spy for the Illustrious Order of the Phoenix, sat in the office of Albus Dumbledore with his friend Aroura Nott, both looking completely dumbfounded at the words that poured from the old headmasters mouth. Aroura's violet blue eyes stared in horror at the man who did so favour his Gryffindors, who had let Severus be tortured by friend and foe alike in school. Her eyes hardened. It was just like the old coot to take away the one good thing Severus had had going for him. The man she loved had always had a hard life growing up and it had only gotten worse once in school. He had thought he was free once he had began to start his Potions Mastery, but of course, Lily Lu had to rear her ugly little red head again and play on Sevvie's feelings for her. Rory had always told Sev that Lily didnt have his interests like she did. It was one of the reasons they were currently together, despite her second cousin, Thoros Nott, simpering after her for her hand. At least, until recently that was. She was kicked out of her musings by the small gurgling cry coming from Severus' arms. Their daughter, Ariadne Eileen Snape, reached a small pale hand out to her father, playing with the raven locks of his hair as he glared at the headmaster.
"So you think this random prophecy you heard however long ago, pretains to Ari?" Severus almost growled. Rory placed a delicate hand upon his shoulder. "Sevvie," she whispered to him. That was all it took. She watched his shoulders slump as he calmed under her touch. She'd always had that effect on him. Even in school, when he would get upset at something those piss poor mauraurders would do. She had been the only one to calm him, even Lily hadnt been able to do that.
"I can think of no one else with which the name Prince would affect, Severus. Your mother has past and you, while male, were the last of the line until last month when Miss Nott had your daughter." Rory glared at the headmaster then. She still felt he was just making this up as he went so he could take the one thing Severus loved away from him. He had always seemed to want his spy alone, and had been trying to pull Rory away from Severus since the day they had gotten together in seventh year. She knew Severus had had a certain respect for her but she never really believed that he was actually in love with her like she had been with him since her third year, his fourth. And while Ariadne had been an accident in the beginning, she had come to be the best thing in both their lives. And once again the Headmaster was trying to take that away from him. From them.
"I wont do it Albus. Im sorry, but I wont take Ari away from her mother. Rory and I love Ari and we will protect and raise her the way we want." Severus's eyes were as hard as obsidian as he looked into the Headmasters twinkling blue eyes. Rory herself didnt like the way he was looking at them both. She knew that look. It was the same look he'd given her when she had told him that in no uncertain terms would she leave Severus alone in this world back in her seventh year at Hogwarts. He'd twinkled at her then too, and shortly after she and Severus had had one of the biggest rows they had ever had before, which ended in a lot of shattering glass and blast spots in his home of Spinners End due to the tow of them drawing their wands on one another. She believed back then that he had meddled with Sevvies mind and she fearsed that she was about to now.
Her eyes darkened, a black ring forming around the iris as her other half rushed to the front of her mind, clawing to get out and protect her mate and offspring. It wasnt often Aurora called upon the necromantic powers of her family line. It was only last year that she had even inherited them, due to Thoros taking her against her will on a broom- something she abhored with all her life- and had done some stupid flip, trying to impress her with his flying skills. She had slipped from the broom and fell, landing flat on her back, her bones shattered from the three hundred foot drop. Her family had found her there at the edge of the forest, hours later. They had thought she was dead until her grandmother spoke, saying that she lived but only because of her inheritance. From that day on she had been a necromancer, and Voldemort had sought her powers, wishing her to breed with his most loyal followers so he could have an eventual army of Necromancers. Severus had originally been one of those men she had been demanded to sleep with. He was the one who had helped her get in touch with the Order of the Phoenix. And now here they were.
She glared at Dumbledore as her eyes filled with black. The twinkling in the mans eyes was gone now. In its place was a hard stare, his bright blue eyes, like chipped ice. "It wasnt a request Severus. You will give me Ariadne, and I will make sure the both of you remain safe from the Dark Lord until this war is done. It is for the Greater Good."
"YOU SPEAK OF THE GREATER GOOD OLD MAN? YOU KNOW NOTHING OF THE GREATER GOOD. YOU ONLY KNOW LIES AND DECIETE AND MANIPULATION!" The etheral hiss that made the voice of Rory so disjointed fell from the Ex-Ravenclaws lips, causing Severus to gasp. But it all happened too fast for Severus to do a thing.
Quick as a flash both Rory and Dumbledore faced off, spells flew, Rory without the use of her wand, for her other half didnt need it. Severus watched with horror as Dumbledore smirked at the Necromancer, before Severus dropped to his knees in agony, the wandless non verbal cruciatus curse hitting him square in the chest, barely missing his month old daughter. Aurora flinched at the sound and screamed out Severus's name, but it was too late. Dumbledore threw a binding spell her way while she was distracted before stunning her. Her entire world went dark.
Severus was convulsing so hard he couldnt keep a hold of Ariadne without her shaking as well. He cracked his eyes open as he felt her being taken from his arms, horror filling those black orbs as he saw Dumbledore had his daughter in his arms. He tried to raise his arm, trying to get to her as he watched his Mentor wave his wand over his daughter. Her hair turned from the silky black she shared with him, to a mousey brown. Her skin, which had been pale, more like Rory's pale, not his own sallow colouring, turned to a light tan, with olive undertones. The last he saw of her before his world went dark, was when his four month old daughter turned to look at him, an understanding in her violet blue eyes that shouldnt have been there at her age. "Dada," she whispered, concern in her tone that also shouldnt have been there at such a young age. He watched in dispair as her eyes turned from the violet blue that he had come to adore in both her and her mother, to a liquid amber brown that reminded him of Firewhiskey.
The darkness chose that moment to consume him.
When both Severus and Aroura awoke in the headmasters office, neither of them remembered that they had a child together. Neither of them remembered that they had once had an affection for one another. Neither of them remembered that the man before them had attacked them and took their baby from her fathers arms just hours beforehand and had apparated off into the night, placing a four month old Ariadne Eileen Snape with a quiet muggle family who had been told four months ago that they would not be able to concieve a child of their own. They had no idea that Ariadne was now one Hermione Jean Granger, soon to be brightest witch of her Age, and the child of prophecy.
Authors Note: Hey yall! Ash here! This story has been rummaging in my head for a long long time. I wanted to do a story that took a bit of a dark turn and in turn gave Hermione the dark Goth like look I had always pictured in my Head. Being a Goth myself most of my life while also being told by many of my Potterhead friends that I reminded them a lot of Hermione, if i just dropped the emo gothiness from my life (NEVAH!) I decided I wanted to do something where she fit both roles. It wasnt until recently I got a good idea for how I wanted things to go. I was reading "The Prophecies" by jammcreynolds here on (great triad story you should go read it if you havent already), when the idea struck me. Im hoping I can actually finish this story as Im notorious for getting such severe writers block that I cant finish a story x.x Anyways, the idea for the prophecy came from that sory (all credit goes to that lovely author) and while I tweaked it a bit I did want to keep Snape as the dad and even have a female member of the Nott family to be the mom, cause i just felt like it fit honestly. This will be a Harry, Draco, Hermione triad, something Ive never done before (the last and only other triad i did was a Pansy, Draco, Hermione triad with undertones from the movie Underworld after the first of those movies came out years ago. It was also the only one of ANY story Ive ever finished sadly. Not a great track record but Im trying!)
Alright enough blathering from me! Ill try and write when I can but I dont know how often it will be because I have a 16 month old Autistic son I take care of daily and my husband uses my laptop to stream Wednesday-Sunday ( .tv/Mythbrandtv) so Ill try during nap times to write more but I dont know how often Ill be able to post. Also any errors are due to either myself or my sticky keyboard x.x I do so apologise but I has no beta x.x
Hope you liked my prologue and I hope yall look forward to this story like I am!
