The Teachers

Introducing the two teenagers to Opera as pack mates was…rather uneventful. They merely touched each demon's hand and then asked her if she wanted to go home. To be honest she was a bit disappointed as none of the demons looked particularly fazed by the interaction.

"Is getting a packmate not a big deal?" She asked Opera who looked at her with a neutral look on their face. She had been not quite excited but ready to have people in her life that thought her important and worth being around. So she felt a little let down that this might not be the case. She didn't want to precisely say that outloud in case it was weird to feel such a way. After all, she knew nothing about how demons actually viewed these things.

However in the short time she had been here the red haired demon had gotten a good read on her and could tell the interaction of them and the two other demons. There was no good in letting the teen stew in her own thoughts. "I have explained that each pack mate develops a different relationship with one another. However, becoming mates does not automatically give one a specific bond nor feeling." They began with no warning startling the girl into looking at them. "I have said that it does not make one love but it does bind them together. Demons are at our core selfish and we as a whole favor one or more mates above the others. It is in our natures. As of right now, you are the mate that I favor above the others as my mistress and ward. You are who I am focused on. Your two newest mates favor you over me. However Balam might favor our other mate over you. It does not make us uncaring to the others. Just that we have different relationships."

"I see, you haven't formed a bond with them. It's not that you hate them." She reiterated the whole speech into two sentences. "So, is it better to let them meet naturally? I was going to introduce them to Professor Balam tomorrow."

"I think that you being there would ease the tension that his…eagerness would cause." Opera replied carefully. It was a well known fact amongst the students that Balam Shichiro was a bit frightening. So to have someone there who was not afraid but also accepted such affections would encourage the others to be at ease in his presence. Especially since at some point Balam will grab them.

Balam was alight with nervous energy the next morning. He had received a call the night before from Opera and was told that Iruma, his little FEMALE pack mate. He was so excited to see the girl again and Opera said she had a surprise for him. After calling her a boy, the gargoyle was surprised to find that the little lady wanted to give him anything.

However the nervousness was not just from excitement. Kalego, after finding out the blue haired girl was their pack, swore him to secrecy. It didn't make the teacher happy but Balam would keep his silence. He could understand that as a teacher being personally connected could come with a disadvantage if the student tried to use that connection as most would do. Somehow, the white haired male did not think that Izumi would do that. However, Kalego was stern in the fact that he would bond with her once she had left school.

"Professor?" He recognized the soft voice that had called through the open door of his empty classroom.

"Ah, Izumi. It is good to see you." Even as the teacher spoke, he was picking up the girl to hold in his arms. Unlike most of the demons she did not try to flee. Just simply accepted being picked up and patted. It made him extremely happy that she didn't tremble in fear. "What can I do for you?"

"Actually, I wanted to ask if you were okay to meet two of our pack mates?" The girl's innocent question caused the demon to freeze mid-pat. While his mates so far had not fled in terror, that did not mean the newest ones would not. He wasn't sure if he was ready. The others had gotten to know him before the bond was found. "I didn't tell them you were meeting today, if you don't want to. They aren't gonna be disappointed, but I'll be there with you…if you want."

The blue eyes that stared up at him were more than enough to have him moving to the door with little thought of the consequences. The girl began to squirm, prompting him to lower her to the floor. This was something he was used to though it did sadden him to release her.

The thing he had not expected was that she would wrap a little hand in his to lead him to their destination. Her hand was so much smaller than his. He knew he was big, bigger than most demons, but she was so tiny. Even for a first year. Considering her grandfather was as big or bigger than him, it was a little concerning. She was neither big nor was she thick with muscles as far as her uniform showed. Just a wisp of a demon.

"Mistress Izumi!" A voice cried out happily. In front of the two demons were another set of demons. One a green haired demoness, the other a pink haired demon. The demoness rushed over to Iruma but when the pink teen had spotted him, he stopped. The magenta eyes took in the large demon and them the hand that was held in the overly large hand. The Asmodeus boy approached at a more sedate pace, nervous but not fearful.

"Mistress…" The much taller of the teens questioned.

"This is Professor Balam." She introduced. "He helped me the first day and I wanted to talk to him. I figured if you two weren't too busy you would join us." She proposed expertly. Clara would be on board so long as she could spend time with her mate, but Az would be more accommodating because this demon assisted his Mistress.

"I see." Az nodded. "Well, he is a professor of the school. His wisdom might do us good in the future."

Izumi smiled slightly at the boy. Happy that her little innocent scheme was going off without a hitch. Clara had a different objective though. "Wow, you are big, teach. What do you teach? Do you like candy?" The girl continued to babble and it was tough to keep up. There was no fear on her face, just intrigue and excitement.

"That's Clara since she forgot to introduce herself and this is Asmodeus Alice." Izumi gestured to the boy who stood to the side as Clara hummed happily ready to go off on another tangent. However Izumi put a gentle hand on her head. "Why don't we find somewhere to sit first?"

"Me, I know." The girl jumped up excited to show off. "Let me pick. I can make blankets and snackeez while we talk. I can pick us a spot." The girl cried running off.

"Ah, Clara! Don't run off." Izumi cried running after the overly excited girl.

"Hey, Idiot! Don't make my Mistress run after you!" Az yelled, taking off after the two girls. Balam watched the students. A chuckle ripped from his lips as he followed the teens.

Kalego returned to school that day only because of the staff meeting at the end of the day. He had caught neither hide nor hair of the newest headache that had graced his life. Shichiro had informed him that she was their pack mate and to say he was displeased might have been the understatement of the year.

He would have sat with Shichiro to eat but the larger demon had vanished mysteriously. He was sure it had something to do with the blue haired girl but as he was avoiding her, the demon wasn't going to search for him. Especially when the demon would come home on his own.

Entering the cafeteria to grab a lunch his ears were greeted by a raucous din. He just wanted to have a quiet lunch period. Was that too much to ask? Furious he made his way to the concession, where his fellow teacher and pack mate was trying to calm someone down. "Whose causing all this…" Kalego flinched as he found Izumi turning from the scene. Why him? Of all the people to be in this cafeteria, why did he have to run into the girl? "Of course it would be you."

"Professor…" She tilted her head as a pink and green haired teen flanked her. Wait, one, two…three. The green haired teen was a new addition to the group and he had heard of the girl causing problems in the halls for others.

"What in fresh hell?" The man had a bad feeling as the aforementioned girl launched herself at him. She was quick and like a snake wrapped arms around his arm and waist. "Get off."

"Hey, teach. I heard you are a familiar. Familiar teach. Can we see? Izumi, will you summon him? Please, please?" The girl's words were fast as she was almost incomprehensible. By the time the man realized that the girl was asking that he be turned into that owl, he snapped his eyes to the blue haired girl.

"Don't you dare." He threatened. Unwilling to be shown to the entire school as a sideshow. The girl said nothing to him and moved closer.

He almost took a step back back away from the girl, unsure what her intentions were but the woman just reached up a hand and patted Clara's head softly. "Get down, Clara." She coaxed gently, relieving the demon of his clingy parasite

At this point the demon was highly embareds and pointed a clawed finger just a few millimeters away from her face. "Do not forget girl. I am not nor will I ever be your familiar. If you try to summon me, I will make it the last thing you do."

The words were hissed in her face and she could do little more than stand there as the teacher stalked away.

"Shichiro, are you coming?" The angry demon called back, but the white haired demon was torn. He did not want to leave the conversation on such a note.

Irumi just gave him a pat on his arm. "I'm not mad so just go with him." She said and she really didn't look mad, it was more like she was very sad. "I'll see you later."

Yes, she would after he spoke with Kalego about his attitude over the incident.
