Chapter 11! Let's do this!

Chapter 11

Heroes come from many places

Ben grinned, as he looked at his team. He turned his head, seeing Todoroki walking towards him, his furious eyes burrowing into his soul. "Tennyson, Midoriya... I would like to speak to you... alone." Ben looked to Midoriya.

"Now that the first two rounds are over, you may all have a break! Go get something to eat as we prepare for the finals!" Midnight called out, cracking her whip.

Midoriya looked to Todoroki. "Okay..." He said, Ben simply nodded. "B-but..." The two looked at Midoriya as he lifted his hand. "Can I have a check-in with Recovery Girl first?" He asked, as he presented his bruised arm and broken fingers.

Todoroki nodded. "Do as you wish." He said, walking away. "I'll be waiting..."

They were all three standing in a cramped hallway leading to the outside of the stadium, Todoroki glaring at them as usual. Midoriya was standing stiffly, nervous, Ben being as laid back as usual. "So... what did you call us here for, Frosty?" He didn't respond. Ben frowned. "Alright, if you're not gonna say anyting, I'm gonna go, cuz I'm hungr-"

"Midoriya." Todoroki muttered, seemingly ignoring Ben, which irritated him. "Your power... both of your powers... made me use my left side..." He paused, looking down at his left arm. Ben and Midoriya looked at him with both intrigue and mild worry. "I already knew Tennyson's quirk was powerful. I had already seen what his fire form was capable of... but something about your quirk, Midoriya... it felt familiar. Like Asui said... it's a lot like All Might's power..." Now Ben and Midoriya were really worried. "So, I have to ask... are you All Might's secret love child or something?"

...

"Huh- w-w-w-WHAT?!"

"PFFFTT- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH-" Ben fell to his knees, tears running down his eyes.

Midoriya scratched his face. "Ehm... well he's not my dad, but I see why you'd think so, but its a very close relationshipweknoweachotherbuthe'snotmyfather,he'smoreofamentorthenanything-"

"Oh my god... thanks anti-freeze... I needed a good laugh, oh my god." Ben rubbed his eyes, chuckling, clearing his throat. "Sorry, sorry... please continue."

Todoroki looked like he tried to set him in fire with his mind, but he took a deep breath, regaining his composure. "This is no laughing matter... I regret bringing you here."

"Ok... ok... I'm sorry, I really am. Continue, for real."

He narrowed his eyes for a second, but he decided to continue. "Have you two ever heard of quirk marriages?"

Ben paused. "Eh... I've heard the word... not sure about the definition though..."

Midoriya butted in. "It's when two people come together and have a child with the single objective of creating an off-spring with a powerful quirk. It was really popular in the early days of quirk society, with people choosing partners based on how their quirks could be compatible and more powerful for their children."

Ben raised an eyebrow. "Sounds kinda immoral..."

"It is..." Todoroki said, thinking back to the flaming man, Endeavor... his father. "Since you're so terribly curious, that is exactly why I dispise my father." He hissed, staring at Ben. "That basterd only created me so I could succeed him. So I could defeat All Might for him..."

"Defeat All Might? He's dreaming." Ben said. He paused. "Is that why you challenged my broccoli haired friend? Cuz you think he's got All Might's power?" Todoroki nodded. "Then why do you want to defeat me?"

"You're far too obnoxious. You keep pestering me. And, your power is very impressive... if I can defeat you with only my right side, then I know I'll be a greater hero then him."

Ben paused. "I get that he's a pretty crummy dude, but why do you hate your dad so much that you refuse to use your flame?"

Todoroki closed his eyes. "My mother... she was forced into a relationship with that scumbag... I have no memories of her smiling, or being happy. I only remember how I felt when she did... I felt joy, and content... but when I try to think about what she looked like... what she sounded like... all I can remember is her shouting that my left side was unbearable, before pouring boiling hot water on my face." As he said this, he put a hand to the red scar on his left eye, its origins now revealed.

Midoriya gasped silently, horror masking his face. Ben looked at Todoroki with sympathy and sorrow. "L-look man, I'm sor-"

"I don't want your sympathy! I will reject my old man by becoming a hero using only my mother's quirk!" He roared, fury filling his eyes. "That bastard doesn't have the right to see me succeed with his power! And he never will!" He paused, as he closed his eyes, and took a deep breath. "And now you know why I hate him... and why I refuse to use his damned fire quirk."

Beyond their line of sight, Bakugo stood around a nearby corner, listening in. Todoroki sighed as he exited the hallway and stood outside of the Stadium, walking away. "I don't care if you refuse tell me about your connection with All Might. It doesn't matter, as long as I defeat you with only my right side."

Ben looked at him for a moment. "Jac-" He stopped himself. "Todoroki... I know how you feel... about hating your own power." Todoroki stopped, but he didn't turn around. Ben looked down at the Omnitrix. "Back when I was a kid... one of my forms... lost control... in a way." Midoriya looked at him in confusion, as Bakugo raised an eye brow. "After that happened, I refused to use it for a while, purely out of fear... but mostly spite... and that decision almost cost someone their life." Todoroki turned to look at him. "You could have rejected Endeavor by simply refusing to become a hero... and yet, here you are, fighting to prove yourself as a hero, greater then your pops! But... if you won't use your full power... someone might die because of it... and what will your excuse be then? That you wanted to piss off your dad?" He shook his head. "No... cuz I know that behind those hateful eyes... is someone who wants to do good in this world! Better then your father at least."

Todoroki looked at Ben, as if intranced by his speech, and so was Midoriya and Bakugo. He looked down at his left side for a moment, before blinking and shaking his head. "Shut up..." He muttered as he walked away. Ben frowned as he saw Todoroki walk off.

"Good luck... Shoto Todoroki." Ben looked down at the watch again, dialling through his forms. Thinking.

"Todoroki..." Ben and Todoroki looked to Midoriya, who had called out. "I... unlike Ben, don't understand what you're going through. I've always had someone to support me and my dream..." Todoroki was invested in where this was going, as Midoriya clenched his fist. "But I'll still fight to achieve my dream. Too many people have stood by my side for me to just give up now!" He looked up at Todoroki and Ben with determination in his eyes. "I will beat you... both of you!"

Ben smiled, while Todoroki simply nodded, stoic as ever. "Hmm." He turned back around, as he left. Ben nodded as well, as he too walked off.

"I'm gonna go get something to eat."

"WELCOME BACK EVERYONE!" Mic roared. "WE'RE CLOSING IN ON THE FINAL ROUND! HOWEVER! FOR EVERYONE WHO FAILED THE LAST ROUND, DON'T WORRY! WE HAVE PREPARED A FEW FUN SIDEGAMES FOR YOU GUYS TO PARTICIPATE IN!"

The viewers in the stadium cheered, as the many losers of the previous game smiled, with a few exceptions, most notably being none other then Monoma. "AND, TO FIRE YOU GUYS UP, WE'VE EVEN BROUGHT IN CHEERLEADERS FROM AMERICA, TO BRING UP YOUR SPIRITS! Uh, wha-"

"Uh..." Aizawa and Mic looked down into the field, where a very displeased group of girls were standing in U.A. cheerleader uniforms. Not the real cheerleaders, they were doing great. But rather the girls from 1-A! They were standing there, seemingly either stunned, pissed or both.

Yaoyorozu sighed as she fell to the ground. "I can't believe I let him trick us!" She cried out. "I even put the time into making all of these outifts!"

Not too far away, Kaminari, and the boy with the purple balls on his head, were laughing to eachother. "I can't believe they fell for it! The girls in my class would never put that on!" The ball-headed boy said, as Kaminari nodded.

"And they all look great in those outfits!"

"Eh, well. The earphone jack girl is okay, but-"

"So, what are you two talking about?" Ben asked, sneaking up on them from behind and wrapping his arms around their shoulders. The two were petrified. "I hope it's not related to body-shaming or tricking girls into embarrassing themselves on live television..." The two immediataly started panicking, struggling to free themselves from Ben's grip, but he was surprisingly strong. He sighed. "Jeez, I'm not gonna kill you. I just want you to know that real heroes don't... you know... do that..." He said, pointing to the sad female members of his class.

The two nodded, still nervous, as he patted them both on the shoulders, and nodded. "Good." He turned around and left the two be.

"Eh, either way, I think these outfits are pretty cute!" Hagakure, the invisible girl said. "Plus, I think cheerleading sounds pretty fun!" She said, waving her pom-poms around.

"So you're into this sorta thing, huh Toru..." Tsu said.

"E-hem... anyways- BEFORE WE START THE RECREATIONAL GAMES, WE'LL SEE WHO OF OUR 16 CONTESTANTS ARE FIGHTING WHO!"

Midnight nodded, as she pointed her whip to the massive monitor. "Now, we'll put together the bracket to see who'll fight who in this final round! To do this, you'll all be drawing lots to decide who you'll fight. Of course, the 16 finalists are free to choose whether or not they want to participate in the recreational games or not, as you may need to save your strength. Now then-"

"Ehm, excuse me. Ms. Midnight..." From the crowd, Ojiro called out to his teacher. "I would like to withdraw from the finals..."

"What?!" The entire stadium looked at him with confusion. "Why?"

"This is an important contest for you to catch the eyes of pros!" Iida shouted.

Ojiro sighed. "Through the entire cavalry battle, I didn't remember a thing..." He looked up at the purple haired student, Shinso. "I think it was his quirk..."

Ben looked to Shinso, before turning back to Ojiro. "So? Why withdraw?"

"It's... it's because if I don't even know how or why I deserve to move on... if I didn't even do anything of my own free will... I don't think I deserve to be here."

"Don't be silly! You can't just throw away your chances!" Toru called out, waving her pom-poms around.

"Yeah! This is a rare opportunity!" Mina shouted.

Ojiro gritted his teeth as put a hand to his face. "My pride won't let me move on unless I believe I've earned it... also, why are all the girls wearing cheerleading outfits?" He asked, making all of the girls sweat a little, as their shame resurfaced.

A chubby member of 1-B, and one of the other two members of Shinso's team, stepped forwards. "I would like to withdraw for the same reason... it just doesn't feel right to fight in a competition that I don't think I belong in... it's not right."

"Man, these guys are way too manly..." Kirishima cried, clenching his fist.

"Hmm..." Midnight closed her eyes. "Your decision isn't one I can agree with... but it turns me on! I accept your withdraw!" She cracked her whip as she said this, making everyone feel a bit uneasy.

"It does what now-"

As to make sure the final round would go smoothly, even without Ojiro's and the 1-B student, they decided to give their spots to others. In their stead, two 1-B members, Shiozaki, a girl with vine-like hair, and Tetsutetsu, would take on the tournament instead.

"Now then. Time to see the brackets of this tournament!" Midnight called out, as she pointed her whip to the screen above her.

Match 1: Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu Vs. Mina Ashido

"Tetsutetsu? Isn't he the rip-off of Kirishima?" Mina muttered quietly.

"RIP-OFF?! If anything, he ripped ME off!" Tetsutetsu roared, appearing behind her.

She jumped as she turned to look at him. "Uh... ehm... r-right..."

Match 2: Shoto Todoroki Vs. Denki Kaminari

"WHAT?! Why did I have to fight one of the strongest guys in our class?! This is SO not fair!" Kaminari cried, terrified for his life.

Todoroki simply stood there, stoic as ever as he stared up at the flaming man in the stands.

Match 3: Hitoshi Shinso Vs. Izuku Midoriya

Midoriya looked at Shinso's name. 'Since I don't know his quirk, I won't be able to come up with a strategy... and I don't know much about him besides his contempt for us...'

"Izuku Midoriya... that's you, right?" Midoriya spun around to see Shinso stand behind him. "You're pretty strong, huh."

Midoriya looked at him nervously. "Ehm... y-" Suddenly, something fluffy covered his mouth.

"Don't talk to him." Ojiro said, as he lowered his tail from Midoriya's face.

Shinso scoffed, as he walked off, as Midoriya gave his classmate a questioning look.

Match 4: Ben Tennyson Vs. Minoru Mineta

"Well, well, well, well, well, well, well..." Ben muttered, smiling. "Looks like this first match will be a cake walk." Ben paused. 'Unless he's got something up his sleeve.'

He turned to see a crying Mineta, on his knees, a pool of tears pooling under him. "WAAHhh... WHY?! Why him?! Why not a girl?!"

Ben furrowed his brow. "Wow... I actually feel kinda bad..."

"SOMEONE WITH HUGE BOOBS!"

He paused again. "Ok... not THAT bad..."

Match 5: Ibara Shiozaki Vs. Mei Hatsume

The vine-haired girl looked at the name. 'Was she not one of the four to assist the bandage-wrapped boy?'

"MEI HATSUME HERE!" She called out, appearing by Shiozaki's side, making her jump slightly.

"Hmm?" She looked at Mei, her energy over-flowing as usual.

"Would you like to wear some of my babies during our battle?" She asked, pulling out her gear-packed bag.

"No thank you." She muttered, as Mei frowned.

"I suppose I'll have to make due on my own..."

Match 6: Hanta Sero Vs. Eijiro Kirishima

The two looked at eachother. "No hard feelings, right?" Kirishima asked.

"Of course." Sero said, smiling.

Match 7: Tenya Iida Vs. Momo Yaoyorozu

They both turned to look at one another, both nodding. A sign of respect, and to ensure there would be no spite for whoever prevails.

Round 8: Katsuki Bakugo Vs. Ochako Uraraka

Bakugo raised an eyebrow as he looked at the brackets. "Who?"

Uraraka just stared at him, petrified.

As the brackets had been decided, the recreational games started. As most of the students took them on, and the 1-A girls actually giving the cheerleading a try. As the recreational games passed, Cementoss, a hero with a quirk that lets him control cement, had been brought in to make a large stage for the students to fight in. It was simple enough, with a rectangular shape, and

"NOW THEN, WELCOME BACK EVERYBODY! I'M SURE YOU'RE ALL EXCITED TO SEE THIS FINAL BRACKET-BASED TOURNAMENT! A LOT OF THINGS HAS HAPPENED TODAY! A RACE, WHERE YOU COULD USE YOUR FELLOW STUDENTS AND ENVIRONMENT TO YOUR ADVANTAGE! A CAVALRY BATTLE, WHERE YOU HAD TO DEPEND ON YOUR TEAMMATES TO MAKE SURE YOU'RE SAFE! AND NOW, A SOLO-BASED BATTLE, WHERE THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON YOU CAN DEPEND ON... YOURSELF!"

Ben was sitting at the seating space for the hero course students, along with his classmates. "IT'S TIME FOR THE FIRST MATCH!" As Mic said this, someone began making their way through one of the tunnels toward the stage. "IN THIS CORNER, WE'VE GOT THE MAN OF STEEL! HE'S HOT-HEADED, BUT HIS SKIN IS COOL, MUCH LIKE HIS QUIRK! IT'S TETSUTETSU TETSUTETSU!"

Tetsutetsu walked out from the tunnel, with a determined scowl on his face, as another person began exiting the opposing tunnel.

"AND IN THIS CORNER! SHE'S PINK LIKE COTTON, AND CUTE AS A BUTTON, BUT SHE'LL MELT YOUR FACE OFF! IT'S MINA ASHIDO!"

Mina exited the tunnel, with a cocky grin on her face. It seems like she was going into this fight barefoot.

"Who do you guys think'll win?" Ben asked, looking to his classmates.

"I bet Tetsutetsu will win. He's so manly! And his quirk is pretty tough!" Kirishima called out.

Ben raised a brow, as he remembered how they acted during the USJ visit with 1-B. "Hold on, I thought you two didn't like each other, and now you're cheering him on?"

"Yeah! After those robots attacked, Tetsutetsu took charge and started fighting the robots! He was so awesome!"

"Ah, got it." He turned to Midoriya who sat baside him. "What do you think?"

"Tetsutetsu's quirk seems pretty strong, especially since during the obstacle course he survived being crushed by the 0-pointer. He was also able to smash apart the faux villains with ease and could tear through meters of metal to get through the 0-pointers hefty body. But Mina is a lot more skilled in mobility, with her being capable of generating acid from her feet to slide across the ground and easily avoid attacks, as he doesn't seem to be very quick. And her uirk may very well be able to burn through his metal skin, as she seems to be able to control the acidity of her acid, so if it doesn't affect him, she could potentially increase the acid's strength, but it's hard to say how strong it can get before it begins to burn her skin..." He was sitting hunched over, writing stuff down in his notebook manically, mumbling as he did.

Everyone just starred at him, slightly creeped out by his muttering. "Uh-huh... good to know..." Ben said, as he turned back to look down to the arena, as Mina and Tetsutetsu now stood on the stage.

Midnight stood at a nearby stage, looking to the two students before her. "The rules are simple... if you are able to knock out or restrain your opponent to the point where they are unable to move or escape, they are deemed unable to fight, and you'll move on to the next round. The white lines on the stage's edges are what signify the arena's bounds! If you you step over it, you'll fail, and your opponent will move on to the next round! Understand?" The two students nodded. Midnight raised her whip- "Get ready..." Before cracking it. "BEGIN!"

Immediately, Mina began generating acid from her feet, as she took off, sliding across the ground with ease. The acid trailed behind her, as she seemed to move along the edge of the stage. Tetsutetsu flexed, as his body turned to steel, sparks erupting from his tough, shiny body. He immediately rushed forwards, screaming as he charged the pink girl. "I'll show you a rip-off!" He roared, as he reeled his arm back, ready to punch her.

She quickly bent backwards, like she was going udner a limbo pole, as she slid under his attack. She then proceeded to spin around and stand up, and waved her hand as a splash of acid shot from her arm, hitting Tetsutetsu in the face. He cried out, as he scooped off the slime, rubbing his face. It left a mark on his metallic face, and obviously hurt, but it didn't reach his natural skin.

"Agh!" He rubbed his eyes as he ran forwards and tried to punch har again, but she released a burst of acid from her toes, pushing her out of his range, as the acid splashed and hit Tetsutetsu's legs. He winced, the brief second of pain resulting in him falling forwards and landing in a pool of acid. He got up quickly, as his P.E. shirt began to melt. He gritted his teeth, as he rushed forwards again, reeling his right arm back for seemingly another punch.

Mina stood her ground as she grinned, getting ready to dodge the punch and hit him in the face with more acid. She did indeed dodge the punch with a side-step, slowing as she slowed to stand on his right, ready to hit him with acid, but suddenly she was hit in the stomach by a literal iron fist. Tetsutetsu grinned. He had used his right-hook as a diversion, as he prepared his left arm to punch her the second she slid to his right.

She wretched as she stumbled backwards, Tetsutetsu taking this moment to trip her. She fell to the ground, as he got ready to plant his foot on her stomach, but she rolled out of the way just in time. She grabbed his leg and pulled, throwing him off balance as he fell to the ground. They began thrashing, wrestling with each other, both using their quirks in an attempt to gain the upper hand.

Tetsutetsu grabbed both of her arms, but she tried to break free by exposing his hands to her acid. But his grip was too strong. He stood up, forcing her to follow, as he tried to force her out of bounds, which were less then a few feet away. She tried to pull free, trying to back away from him, but he was determined. She pulled back as far as she could... before rushing forwards at full speed, tackling him as he fell backwards, releasing tons of acid onto him.

His grip loosened, as he fell to the ground, a pool of acid forming. He hissed as he stood him. "Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu is out of bounds!" Midnigth called out, as she pointed to him with her whip. He gapsed, as he looked down. He was indeed no longer within the lines that signified the inside of the stage.

"Oh come on..." He shouted, as he stomped his foot into the ground. "She's too good..." He muttered, as he crossed his arms.

"You were pretty great too." Mina muttered, rubbing her stomach wearily. "Sorry for... calling you a rip-off..." She groaned.

Tetsutetsu paused, before nodding. "Thanks... sorry for... punching you in the stomach like that..." He said, as she gave him a weak thumbs up.

Midnight cracked her whip, smiling. "Oh, how chivalrous! I'm into it! Mina Ashido advances to the second round! Oh, and Tetsutetsu..." He looked to her. "Go and get changed..." He looked down, to see his P.E. uniform completely molten, and his pants being slightly burned.

"Oh... right!" He said, as he marched out through the tunnel, Mina walking out much more wearily.

Ben looked down at the arena, as two nurse robots assisted Ashido to the nurse's office. "Huh... can't say I expected that."

"Man, too bad Tetsutetsu lost, but gotta admit. Mina was pretty awesome down there!" Kirishima said, crossing his arms.

"She was able to keep him at bay with her acid and avoid his attacks by sliding on it! But Tetsutetsu was still holding his own!" Midoriya was back to muttering, continuing writing shit down. "Had it not have been for her last push at the end there, then maybe he would have won, using his greater strength to throw her out of bounds, like he was seemingly trying to do before she-"

"SHUT THE HELL UP DEKU!" Bakugo roared, having finally snapped after the minutes worth of information flowing from his mouth.

Midoriya jumped, as he clamped his mouth shut with his hands. "S-sorry..." He said, as he put down his notebook.

As the arena was being cleaned up to be rid of Ashido's acid, Todoroki exited his waiting room. He seemed tired, or maybe just irritated. Either way, he wasn't in a great mood. And it didn't get better as he passed a corner. He scowled as he looked at the massive man before him. "What do you want?" Todoroki asked, still furious.

Endavor himself was standing there with his back against the wall, his arms crossed. His costume was dark blue, with grey, metallic gauntlet-like bracelets around his wrists and a black utility belt around his waist. Flames covered most of his torso, legs and face, and under the flames, he had spiky, crimson hair. "Why won't you stop with these childish games?" He asked, Todoroki simply narrowing his eyes. "If you just used my quirk, you would blast through this competition... it would be childsplay for someone like you!" He hissed, glaring at his son as he passed him. "You're the one who is to surpass All Might!" He said, thining back to an encounter with the Symbol of Piece.

A few minutes earlier...

Endeavor was walking through the halls of the stadium, his every step feeling shaking the building... or atleast it felt like it did to those who saw him as he stomped forwards, his intimidating glare bringing them fear. He was clearly unhappy. Whether it be because Shoto refused to use his flame, or if it was because U.A. was wasting everyone's time with these reqreational games, it didn't really matter. He was pissed, and no one wanted to deal with that...

No one besides- "WELL, WELL, WELL... IF IT ISN'T ENDEAVOR... HOW'S IT GOING?" Endeavor's heart filled with rage as he turned to look at the owner of the mighty voice.

"All Might..." Endeavor glared at the number 1 hero.

"WE HAVEN'T SPOKEN FOR A WHILE. LAST TIME WAS DURING THAT PRESS CONFERENCE TEN YEARS AGO, RIGHT?" All Might was wearing a nice, dark-grey tuxedo and a red tie, that somehow fitted his massive form comfortably. "I FIGURED SINCE IT WAS SUCH A LONG TIME WE TALKED, I THOUGHT I'D SAY HI!"

Endeavor simply turned away from his fellow hero. "Did you now? Well if that was all, I'd say we're done here..." He said as he began walking away. "Chatting like we're old friends... what a joke..." He muttered under his breath, as All Might burst out laughing, jumping through the air and landing in front of him.

"WHAT'S UP WITH THAT ATTITUDE? I ASSUMED YOU'D BE THRILLED THAT YOUR SON IS HOLDING HIS OWN DURING THIS FESTIVAL! ESPECIALLY SINCE HE'S MAKING DUE WITH ONLY HALF OF HIS FULL STRENGTH! YOU MUST BE AN EXCELLENT TEACHER!"

This made Endeavor scowl deeply. "Are you implying something?"

"OF COURSE NOT! I SIMPLY WISH FOR ADVICE... HOW ARE WE TO TRAIN THIS NEXT GENERATION OF HEROES?"

"Do you actually believe I would share anything with you?! You're delusional..." He passed All Might, pushing past him with a weak elbow to the side.

"EHM... ALRIGHTY THEN..."

As Endeavor made his way to a nearby staircase, he stopped, turning to look at All Might. "I can assure you, that my son will beat you one day, and take your place as number one... after all... that was the reason I made him..."

All Might grunted, as he looked at Endeavor uncomfortably. "Y-YOU WHAT?"

Endeavor turned to look at him with hateful eyes, glaring daggers at him. "He's in a rebellious face right now... but one day, he will beat you... no matter what!" He turned away from All Might, as he walked down the stairs.

Endeavor reopened his eyes, as he looked down at his anger-filled offspring. "Are you even listening to what I'm saying?" Todoroki scowled, hate filling his soul, and a contempt-fueled scowl covering his face. "You're different from your siblings..." Memories flodded into his mind of his son... not Shoto, but another boy, with snow-white hair and vibrant blue eyes... eyes as blue as his flames... Endeavor narrowed his brow, holding back the urge to frown, keeping his expression neutral. "You're my greatest masterpiece."

Shoto gritted his teeth. "Is that all you have to say to me you bastard? I'll win this tournament using only mom's quirk!" As he said this, Endeavor's mind filled with memories of a flaming forest, and a shadow within the flames, calling out for help. He turned away from Shoto, trying to clear his mind of those memories.

"Even if you can make it through this competition like that... eventually, you'll find thelimits to that quirk..." He muttered, remembering the scarred and molten remains of his boy. 'If you keep this up, Shoto... eventually, you'll end up like him...' He thought, as he turned away from his son completely, and began walking away.

"IT'S TIME FOR THE SECOND MATCH!" Mic roared, as he looked down to the tunnels. "IN THIS CORNER, WE'VE GOT A KID WHO'S LEAN, MEAN, AN ELECTRIC MACHINE! HE'S FAR FROM CRAFTY, BUT HE'S PRETTY STRONG! IT'S DENKI KAMINARI!" As he said this, the yellow-haired student exited the tunnel. He was smiling, but he was obviously pretty worried, sweat running down his face.

"AND IN THIS CORNER, HE'S BOTH HOT AND COOL! WATCH YOUR BACK OR HE'LL BOTH FREEZE AND BURN YOU! IT'S SHOTO TODOROKI!" As he said this, Todoroki exited the tunnel, his hair masking his eyes and most of his face.

As the two reached the stage, Kaminari cleared his throat weakly. "P-please go easy on me..." He muttered under his breath.

Ben looked down at the arena. He had nothing but sympathy for Kaminari. This time, Kirishima took the lead for questioning. "So, who do you guys think will wi-"

"Icy-hot." Bakugo said, not even giving Kirishima time to finish.

"Agreed." Ben said. "Kaminari's strong. I would know. Even though Snare-Oh's bandages were sturdy enough to block his attacks, it still hurt. I'm just good at hiding it." He looked to Todoroki. "But Todo's quirk is beyond over-powered. Before Kaminari could even think to use his electricity, he would wind up as a spark-sicle..."

"Ready?" Midnight asked, as she raised her whip. The two nodded, Kaminari doing it rather hesitently. "Begin!" She shouted as she cracked her whip

Kaminari's body began to spark, as he got in a fighting stance. 'Alright, if I act fast, I can beat him!' He raised his arms, as the electricity began creeping up his arms. "INDISCRIMINENT SHOCK: 1 300 000 VOLTS!" He roared, as he threw his arms down, the electricity erupting forwards.

Todoroki simply stood there, before he lifted his gaze, revealing a glare filled with the fury of a thousands suns. "Sorry about this." He muttered, as the entire arena erupted in ice, Kaminari being incased in a clacier which tore through the stands, almost impaling some of his classmates.

"H-H-HOLY CRAP, THIS IS CRAZY!" Mic roared, as he and Aizawa stared at the glacier in terror. Kaminari was deeply imbedded in the wall of ice, shivering. "WHAT EXPLOSIVE POWER!"

"W-w-w-w-why m-m-m-m-me?!" He cried, his teeth clattering.

Midnight stood to the side, half of her body being covered in a thin sheet of ice. "K-Kaminari... a-are you... unable to b-battle?"

"D-d-d-does it l-l-look like I c-can move?!" He cried, struggling to free himself from the ice, failing entirely.

Midnight cleared her throat."D-Denki Kaminari is restrained and unable to battle. S-Shoto Todoroki advances t-to the next round..."

Shoto walked forwards and gave his teammate an apologizing look. "Sorry about that..." He put his left hand to the ice, and began to generate warmth to melt it. "I was just... angry."

Ben simply sat there, staring at the pointy icicle that had nearly impaled him as Todoroki created the glacier. "Holy crap... is... is Kaminari still alive?"

"Are you a moron or something?" Bakugo asked, weirdly calm as he blasted apart the icicle that pushed against his chest.

"Eh... is that an honest question."

"Icy-hot aimed the ice at his torso. The ice completely missed his head..." He said, crossing his arms.

Ben just stared at him, perplexed. "You had like a split second before the warm spring air erupted into a full on glacier! How the hell did you see that?"

"Shut the hell up you freak..." Bakugo muttered.

Ben shrugged as he saw the nurse bots carry away the cold Kaminari, who was unable to move on his own. "Poor guy..." He looked to his right, where Midoriya had been seated a moment ago, as he had left a minute earlier to prepare for his match. Oddly enough, Ojiro followed him, but he guessed it had to do with the Shinso guy. Ben stood up, as he walked out to sit in the waiting room as well, as his match was after Midoriya's.

After some time of cleaning up the ice, the next match was up, as Mic got ready. "NOW, IT'S TIME FOR THE THIRD MATCH! AND I BET THAT THIS ONE IS GONNA BE PRETTY INTERESTING! IN THIS CORNER, IS THE GREEN-TIPPED BOY WITH POWER GREATER THEN ANYONE CAN TAKE! IZUKU MIDORIYA!" He called out, as Izuku exited his tunnel, nervous.

"AND IN THIS CORNER, WE'VE GOT THE ENIGMA! THE MYSTERY! THE GUY WHO CLIMBED UP THE LATTER AND HIS COME VERY FAR DESPITE HIS PLACE IN GENERAL STUDIES! HITOSHI SHINSO!" As he said this, Shinso exited his tunnel, and walked up into the stage, looking at Midoriya with tired eyes.

"You both remember and understand the rules, yes?" Midnight asked. The two nodded. In response, she raised her whip. "Get ready..."

"Forfeiting, huh..." Midoriya looked up at Shinso as he spoke. "From a certain angle, this whole competition is a test to how determined you are... you can't simply worry about other people's opinion of you when you have a goal to accomplish."

"BEGIN!" Midnight called out, as she cracked her whip.

He narrowed his eyes. "That monkey was talking about his pride earlier... but I think he was a moron for throwing away his chance."

Midoriya scowled as he ran forwards. "Don't you dare talk about him like tha-" Suddenly, he tensed up, stopping in his tracks, his eyes going blank.

Shinso smiled as he looked at Midoriya's dazed expression. "That's it... I win."

"NO! Why did you talk to him?! I warned you not to do that!" Ojiro shouted, standing up.

Ben simply looked at the screen in his waiting room, seeing the blank expression of his classmate. "That can't be good..." Ben muttered, as he took a sip from his water bottle.

Midoriya stood calmly, Shinso grinning like a child on christmas morning. "WHAT'S THIS?! THE MATCH JUST STARTED AND MIDORIYA'S NOT MOVING AN INCH! IS THIS SHINSO'S QUIRK IN ACTION?!" Mic roared, everyone looking down at the two with interest and confusion. "HE HASN'T STOOD OUT WHATSOEVER, YET HE SEEMS CRAZY POWERFUL! WHAT AN UNFORSEEN TURN OF EVENTS!"

"This is a perfect example of why the practical test for the entrance exam isn't rational." Aizawa muttered.

"Huh? How so?" Mic asked.

"Since we've moved on to the final round, I took the time to get some information on our finalists." He said, pulling out two papers on Midoriya and Shinso. "Shinso failed the practicals for the hero course's entrance exam. He probably forsaw this, as he had also applied for General Studies." He lowered the papers, as he looked down at Shinso. "He has an exceptional quirk, but the practical exam was against faux villains... robots. The test was set up in a way so those with physical quirks exelled, while people like him, amazing as he is, didn't stand a chance."

Shinso starred at Midoriya with contempt, altough he hid it well under his veil of exhaustion. "You must feel so blessed, Izuku Midoriya... to have a quirk as powerful as that... Now, be a good hero and walk out of bounds for me." As he said this, Midoriya turned around, and began walking towards the edge of the stage.

"WOAH, WOAH, WOAH! IS HE FOR REAL JUST WALKING OUT OF BOUNDS?!" He turned to Aizawa. "SHOTA, SHOW ME THOSE PAPERS!" Aizawa repositioned his hand so Mic could read off the paper.

Hitoshi Shinso
Quirk: Brainwashing

It lets him control those who answer his questions! Once under his control, they'll do whatever he says to a T! Of course, they only get brainwashed if he wants to brainwash them! Not too flashy, but still pretty powerful!

As Mic started shouting about Shinso's quirk, Aizawa looked to his brainwashed student. 'On the fitness test on the first day of school, Midoriya scored very low compared to any other student who's been excepted to the hero course, but still it was greater then Shinso could ever get... even when he didn't use his quirk, he did better then Shinso... if they were to fight without using their quirks, Midoriya would most definitely win.' He looked to Shinso. 'But for that to happen, he would have to escape Shinso's brainwashing. Either way, this match will be over quickly...'

Midoriya was still walking towards the edge, his eyes blankly staring into nothing. Although, despite being in this braindead state, he could still think. 'What... what is happening? I... can't see... my thoughts are all foggy, and so is my sight.' If he had been able to move his face, he would have gritted his teeth. 'Damn it... Ojiro went through the time and effort to warn me of Shinso, but I threw his advice away.' He saw his skinny mentor in the tunnel, sweating like crazy, shouting internally for Midoriya to wake up and turn around.

But Midoriya heard nothing. Not his footsteps, not his breathing and not even not Mic's screaming. All of his senses were muffled. Except for Shinso's voice. When he spoke, it felt like the voice was in his head. His quirk was incredible. Midoriya wanted to shout in frustration. 'I promised All Might I would show the world I was here! I... I... I let him down...' Midoriya frowned as he grew closer, and closer to the edge. He got ready to step out of bounds, when...

He felt something... something clear! He heard and saw something too! Not Shinso's voice or his face, but something completely different. He felt a surge of power erupt from within, tearing forth from his depth. He looked into the tunnel, and saw... people? Or shadows. A group of silhouettes, all with glowing yellow eyes, a whirlwind of pure emotion and power surging out from within.

BOOM, CRACK, SNAP

Midoriya cried out as his finger broke, and he fell backwards, narrowly avoiding going out of bounds. He gasped, as he looked down at his bruised finger. "HOLY CRAP, DID HE JUST BREAK FREE FROM SHINSO'S POWER BY USING HIS QUIRK?!" He did endeed. Somehow, despite in his dazed state, he was able to activate his quirk, and break his own finger by flicking it. Ojiro had told him he had broken free after bumping into an opponent. Midoriya's method was more painful, but it worked!

Everyone in the stadium cheered. How awesome! His quirk was so strong! But, one person was very unhappy with this. And I'm sure you can guess who it was... "You're not supposed to be able to fight back! What did you do?!" MIdoriya immediately put a hand over his mouth as Shinso started screaming. "HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" Midoriya didn't respond, as he took on a battle ready stance. 'He's not responding to me... did he figure it out? No... he knew from the start... the monkey must have told him.' He smiled, as he lowered his arms. "You're pretty strong, huh! Enough power to break your own fingers like that! I'm kinda jealous!"

He didn't respond, as he charged at Shinso, who gritted his teeth. "Because of how my quirk works, I've always been at a disadvantage! But you wouldn't understand that, would you?! You must feel so blessed!" He roared, with fury in his heart. "YOU WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A HEROIC QUIRK! IT WILL BE SO EASY FOR YOU TO REACH YOUR GOAL!" Midoriya rammed into him, trying to push him out of bounds by putting both of his hands pushed up against him so he couldn't push him back.

"SAY SOMETHING DAMN IT!" He shouted, punching Midoriya across the jaw. He flinched, but despite blood running down he nose, he wouldn't give up, as he continued pushing away his opponent. Shinso turned around to see that he was closing in on the edge. 'Damn it! He's pushing me out fo bounds!' He reeled his arm back, and punched Midoriya in his broken fingers, sending blood in all directions as Midoriya cried out in pain.

He stumbled forwards as Shinso sidestepped out of his reach. He jumped forwards, and grabbed Midoriya by the back of his shirt, and used the momentum to spin and try to throw him out of bounds. He let go of the green-haired boy, as he flew towards the edge of the arena. Midoriya shouted internally, as he began panicking. 'No! I'll lose!' He waved one of his arms forwards, using his quirk as a burst of pressure rocketed himself backwards and away from the edge, as the bones in his arm broke.

He spun around mid-air as he rammed into Shinso! He wretched as he fell to the ground. He looked up to see a pissed off Midoriya standing over him. He quickly shook off the pain, as he tried to tackle Midoriya, but he side-stepped out of the way. As Shinso tried to turn to Midoriya, he tripped as he began falling forwards. Midoriya used this moment to grab Shinso by the back of his collar with his still working arm. He ran forwards, screaming. "I WON'T LOSE!"

"BE QUIET!" Shinso roared, as he elbowed Midoriya in the side. It was ineffective. He grabbed at Midoriya, clawing and scratching him. "LET GO OF ME-" Suddenly, he was kicked in the stomach by Midoriya. Midoriya threw him forwards as he roared, Shinso flying out of the ring, and ladning out of bounds.

"Hitoshi Shinso is out of bounds. Izuku Midoriya wins, and will proceed to the next round!" Midnight called out, as Midoriya was breathing heavily, blood still running down his nose.

Nabooh City Middle school

"Woah! Your quirk is brainwashing?! That's so cool!" A boy with black hair was shouting.

"I've never heard of anyone with a power like that!" A blond boy added.

"Oh my god Shinso, I'm so jealous!" A girl with a squishy face and a nasally voice said.

"You could do whatever you want!" The blond boy shouted, flushed at the tought of having a power like that of his own. "It would be the perfect power for a villain!"

"You could whatever you want!" The black-haired guy said.

"And no one would ever know." The girl said, as she crossed her arms. "Just promise you won't make us your slaves, okay?"

Shinso laughed as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Everyone always say that..." He looked down at his desk as he frowned. 'I can't really disagree... it does sounds like a villainous power... and I wouldn't really trust someone with a power like this, but... still... I still want to be...' He closed his eyes tightly as he heard his classmates mutter to each other about him.

He opened his eyes, as he was blinded by the bright daylight. He groaned as he felt the pain of being slammed into the ground. He looked up to see Midoriya still stand there, breathing heavily. He winced as he heard Midnight call out his defeat. He sat up weakly, as he gritted his teeth.

Uraraka breathed a sigh of relief. "Oh my god, that was so nerv-wracking..."

Iida simply smiled as he looked down at the arena. "He turned the tides in the last second! A classic Midoriya manuever!"

Bakugo simply tsked, as he scowled. "He didn't even use his quirk... typical." He gritted his teeth. 'He's aiming for the top, and lured that purple-haired bastard into his trap...'

Ben simply clapped while in his small little resting room. "Nice work, Midoriya..." He said, as he got ready to head on over for his own match.

As Midoriya stood before Shinso, Mic babbling about the fight while people were applauding them, he couldn't help but frown. He passed, but... what Shanso said was stuck with him. "YOU WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET A HEROIC QUIRK! IT WILL BE SO EASY FOR YOU TO REACH YOUR GOAL!" He looked up at Shinso who had a dissapointed frown on his face, and a furrowed brow.

"Why... why do you want to be a hero?" He asked, rubbing his arm. Shinso looked at him.

He looked away. "Sometimes, you can't explain what your heart yearns for..." As he said this, he began walking away. His words seemed to resonate with Midoriya in a way, which is probably why he felt so sorry for him. Shinso's eyes were hidden under his hair, as he disappointedly walked off the stage.

"That was awesome Shinso!" He stopped, as he looked up to see his fellow General Studies students calling out to him.

"We're proud of you!" Another one of his classmates shouted.

"Why didn't you tell us you were that good?!"

"You're like the star of our class!"

"Can't believe you put up such a good fight against a hero student!"

Shinso looked on in disbelief at his smiling classmates, all smiling at him. "Listen to them!" Another student said, as he pointed to the pros sitting behind them.

A pro with a dragon-like appearance wearing skull-mask spoke up. "With a quirk like that, catching villains would be easy! I'm almost jealous."

"I can't believe they actually placed him in general studies! Talk about idiotic." A female pro with greenish-blue hair and a hygiene mask with smiley faces on the filters said.

"Well, there are a lot of aplicants every year. It's to be expected some people slip through the cracks." A hero with a blue bodysuit and a segmented piece of head-armor.

"It is unfortunate he lacked any combat experience." A pro with a blue, robotic, gasmask-like helmet and a fancy suit muttered.

"Yeah! If he did, he could have dominated." A pro with a nearly identical costume, besides the fact that his mask is green, added.

The student who had pointed to the pros smiled, as he looked back down at Shinso. "You hear that Shinso? They love you!"

Shinso looked at his classmates, as he lowered his gaze slowly. "Depending on what our results are, we could make our way into the hero course." Midoriya looked at him with mild confusion and concern. "Even if it didn't work out this time, I won't give up. I'll keep trying until I get accepted. I'll get my license, graduate, and become a better hero then any of you!"

Midoriya's worry suddenly vanished, as hope took its place. He took a deep breath, as he nodded. "Right..." He suddenly stiffened, as Shinso brainwashed him. 'Wha- why did he...? The match is already over...'

Shinso laughed. "People are always awkward or careful when they talk to me..." He turned to Midoriya, grinning. "You'll need to be more careful..." He said, as he deactivated his quirk. "Don't lose, okay? You'll make me look bad."

'Shinso...' Midoriya barely held back a smile, as he nodded. "I won't." He said, as he was brainwashed again.

"Really?"

Ben was walking through the stadiums hallways, making his way to the tunnel leading to the arena. 'I'm pretty confident I'll win this... maybe I won't even need to transform!' He smiled, as he cracked his knuckles. "I do love taking risks." He said as he sped up, running through the halls.

He rushed through the building, until he finally made it to the tunnel to the arena. "Ah, there you are. You sure took your time."

Ben paused as he saw who was in the tunnel before him. "Thirteen? Hi! What's up?" He asked, as he walked up to the space-themed hero/plumber.

"It's nothing. I just wanted to wish you luck. I only now realized we haven't really talked since our little talk." They said. "I've been pretty busy with the damage I sustained during that first U.S.J attack. And now I need to help direct the reconstruction and repair of said location." They said somberly.

Ben laughed awkwardly as thay said that, as he rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, sorry about that..."

Thirteen raised a brow. "What do you mean..." They paused. "You... YOU WERE BEHIND THE EXPLOSION?!"

"I'm sorry!" He cried, trying to protect his face with his hands should his teacher try to jab at him.

Thirteen sighed. "It's... fine..." They muttered, as they tried to rub their eyes. "With the plumbers helping with rebuilding it, it'll probably only be under construction until after summer vacation."

"Oh, I think Patelliday said something about the plumbers helping you guys out. So aliens will be rebuilding it? Openly?"

"Of course not. Only me, Nezu and licensed plumbers have access to the construction site and its blueprints." They suddenly jumped. "Oh, right. Almost forgot." They moved to the side to let him pass. "You have a tournament to win, yes?"

Ben paused, looking at Thirteen with a confused expression, before he grinned. "Right!" He said with determination, as he exited the tunnel.

"Good luck!" They shouted after him, waving. "Oh, and stick around after the festival! I've got something to show you!" They shouted after him, as he gave them a thumbs up.

"You got it!" He shouted, as he reached the stage.

"NOW! TIME FOR THE FOURTH MATCH!" Mic's voice filled the area. "IN THIS CORNER, WE'VE GOT THE KID WITH ALL THE POWERS OF THE RAINBOW! HE'S SLIMY, FREAKY, FAST AND STRONG! IT'S BEN TENNYSON!" Mic roared, as Ben crossed his arms cockily. "AND IN THIS CORNER! IT'S THE GRAPE FROM GENERAL STUDIES! HE DOESN'T LOOK LIKE MUCH, BUT SHINSO SHOWED US TO NEVER UNDERESTIMATE YOUR OPPONENT! IT'S MINORU MINETA!" The grape boy stood on the opposite end of the stage, shaking as his teeth rattled.

"Ready?" Midnight asked, Ben nodding confidently, while Mineta nodded with much more worry. "Begin!"

Ben immediately ran forwards, as he cracked his knuckles. 'I don't even need to transform to win this!' Minoru cried out in fear, as he grabbed the balls on his head, throwing them forwards. "Balls?" Ben rolled out of the way of the balls, but- "Woah! Eh... I'M STUCK!" He cried, as he had landed on one of the purple balls.

Mineta looked at Ben, as he smiled. "I got you! HAH! I. GOT. YOU!" He said, laughing.

"WOW, THIS KID IS ACTUALLY PRETTY GOOD! WHO WOULD HAVE GUESSED!" Mic called out.

"Hmm... his quirk is rather useful... but it seems like his... interests are holding him back..." Aizawa muttered, looking at the short teen.

"What even is this stuff?!" Ben hissed, as he slithered out of his shirt, which was still stuck to the ball. Ben jumped to his feet, now shirtless, revealing his surprisingly muscular build. It seems like the cardio he gets in his alien forms transfers to his human form. "Alright bozo! Wanna go?!" He shouted, which made Mineta squeel. He scooped up his balls, and threw them at Ben. "Oh cra-" One hit him in the face as he fell backwards. "Hm-hm-mh!" He shouted, his words muffled by the ball stuck to his face.

"I'M GONNA WIN THIS!" Mineta called out, as he pulled off even more balls, throwing them at Ben.

'It seems like I've underestimated that little gremlin...' He activated the Omnitrix, and slammed down the dial before another ball could hit him.

"OH BOY! ANOTHER ALIEN! IS IT A NEW ONE PERHAPS?" Mic called out.

As the bright flash of light settled, Ben's form was revealed and... it was... odd. It was rather short, about the same size as Mineta. He has green, reptile-like skin, and odd bulbs growing from the back od his head. He seemed to have gill-like marks on his cheeks, and a large stomach. Suddenly, green tendrils erupted from under the balls on his face, as it wrapped around them and pulled them into Ben's mouth. Ben wiped his mouth of saliva, as he grinned. "Upchuck! Time to eat up and upchuck!" He shouted.

"DID HE JUST EAT HIS BALLS-"

"Phrasing." Aizawa muttered.

He got up, as he opened his mouth, three tendril-like tongues shooting forwards. Mineta cried as he began throwing balls at him, but the tendril-like tongues just wrapped around the balls, before returning into Upchuck's mouth, feeding him the purple balls. "HOW ARE YOU GETTING THEM OFF?!"

"I'm just bringing them directly to into my stomach! It's a literal black hole, tearing apart your balls as they enter it!" He said, as his stomach began to glow. "Hmm. If I were you... I'd start running..." Minate backed away, as Upchuck reeled his head back, the green light traveling up his gullet, before he spat it out, revealing a ball of glowing plasma flying towards Mineta. He cried out in terror, as he jumped out of the way, the plasma ball hitting th egorund where he once stood, exploding and tearing up the ground.

Upchuck

This squishy and short alien can eat anything, no matter the size or amount. He has three, super-strong tongues which can scoop up food with ease, and once he eats something, the something becomes pure, explosive plasme, which he can barf up as long-distance attacks!

Mineta roared out, his cries of terror filling the arena, as Upchuck frowned. "Dude, you okay?" He asked as he walked up to the boy, reaching forwards. Mineta turned to him, flashing a cocky smile.

"I've already WON!" He cried out, as he began throwing his balls like crazy! A hailstorm of grape-like spheres flew at Ben! "GRAPE RU-" Ben just opened his mouth and swallowed them all...

"Nice try kid." He said, as his tounges shot out, wrapping around the grape-boy, as he hoisted him into the air! "Have a nice flight!" He shouted as he let go of Mineta, catapulting him through the air! He crashed into the ground, groaning.

"Minoru Mineta is out of bounds! Ben Tennyson wins, and will advance to the next round!" Midnight called out, as Mineta punched the ground in frustration.

"Damn it! I just wanted to get into the hero course! This isn't. Fair!" He hissed, as he kicked up some dust. "I just wanted to impress girls! So I could-" He slipped, and fell to the ground, as he groaned once more. As he turned to stand up, he went silent. Before him, was a hand reaching out to him. But not like a backhand, or someone coming forwards to choke him like usual.

"You good?" Upchuck asked, offering him a helping hand, as he detransformed, back into Ben.

"OH! How noble!" Midnight whispered to herself, smiling ear to ear.

Mineta looked at him, as his form grew, his head blocking out the sun. His hair shimered as light passed through it, his emerald eyes glistening like... well... emeralds. Mineta looked at his hand as he hesitanty accepted his help, as he was hoisted upward.

"Y-yeah... I'm... fine." He said, fidgeting as he got up.

Ben looked at him awkwardly, before patting him on the back. "Good luck getting into the hero course... just... try to dial back the girl oogling, alright? Not the best attribute of a hero, you know?"

"Eh. Yeah. No, yeah! T-thanks!" He said, as he began walking away.

Ben raised a brow. "What's up with him?" He looked down and realized that- "Oh shit, I don't have a shirt!" He hissed, as he ran over to the one stuck to the ground and tried to pull it off. "Come on! Come on, god damn it!" He hissed, as he finally tore the shirt from the ball... and I mean torn. There was a now a gaping hole on its back. "Ah man..."

"You can get a new one in the changing rooms!" Midnight called out.

Ben nodded. "Right, thanks." He said, as he walked off the stage and made his way to the tunnel.

Ben's classmates were cheering, along with the rest of the crowd, besides Bakugo and Todoroki... and Tokoyami and Shoji, who settled for giving him a round of applause. "Impressive." Tokoyami muttered. "Tennyson keeps proving to be a formidable opponent."

"Yeah! That form was pretty strong!" Sato shouted, punching the air.

"He did say he had about 20 forms." Jiro said. "I'd say that means he has about-"

"2 forms left!" Kaminari finishes, making Jiro glare at him.

As his classmates were celebrating, another one was currently a bit too busy to be there to cheer with the rest of them

Midoriya was sitting in the nurse's office, a screen displaying the arena hanging from the ceiling. One of his hands was wrapped in bandages, as he was maniacally writing in his notebook. "So he can ingest matter and spit out balls of plasma, I wonder if the plasma's properties change based on what he eats, how powerful are they, is there a limit to how much he can eat, is he immune to his plasma balls, could certain materials or objects upset his stomach, can he eat living creatures, does he only have three tongues, how long can they stretch, they're strong enough to lift and throw a human the same size of himself, what is the weight limit, does he ever chew his food, how strong is his own body, how fast and durable is he, what are those nodes sticking out from the back of his head, are they feelers?"

Midoriya continued muttering as All Might and Recovery Girl were forced to just stare at him with mild concern and discomfort.

Now, the fifth match started and... it was... entertaining? Mei was simply zooming across the battle field, while shouting about how fantastical her gear was, trying to get the big company CEOs' attention, all while Shiozaki, the girl with vines for hair, struggled to nab her up with her vines. It lasted for about a couple minutes, before Mai was finally satisfied with her commercial, and happily stepped out of bounds, letting Shiozaki advance to the next round... there wasn't really much to say about this match... ONTO THE NEXT ONE!

Let's hope this match will be more investing, with Sero and Kirishima as the ones to fight!

Midnight cracks her whip, signaling the two boys that the match was on! Kirishima immediately hardens his skin, as he charges at Sero, trying to brute force his way through. Sero stands still cockily, as Kirishima nears. He reers his arm back, getting ready to punch Sero across the jaw, but he sends a stream of tape to the side of the arena, yanking it back to reel himself out of Kirishima's path, who just barely has time to stop himself before falling out of bounds.

He spins around to charge Sero once more, but a strand of tape zooms forth, aiming for him. He tries to grab it with his arm, but it simply wraps around it, as Sero tries to reel him in. Kirishima is a bit too heavy for that though, as he inches along the stage rather slowly. He grins as he grabs the tape with his free hand, as yanks it, forcing Sero to inch closer himself, but he shoots a strand of tape towards the ground behind him as an ankor.

He turns back to look at Kirishima, only to be met with a rocky uppercut, throwing him into the air, but Kirishima grabs him by the ankle and throws him into the ground, leaving him groaning. He opens his eyes weakly, seeing Kirishima bring his fist down towards his stomach, but Sero rolls out of the way, as the fist hits the ground, cracking it. Sero leaps to his feet, as he wraps tape around Kirishima's foot, and yanks back, throwing him off balance, as he hits the ground facefirst, creating a Kirishima-shaped mark in the ground, as his hardening weakens.

Sero, realizing he's gotten slightly lighter, yenks the tape again, as Kirishima's thrown into the air. Sero grins as he rushes forwards, moving ahead of Kirishima, and pulls the tape even harder, catapulting his classmate, as he flies over the edge of the stage, landing out of bounds.

"Eijiro Kirishima is out of bounds! Hanta Sero will advance to the next round!" Midnight exclaims, cracking her whip. Kirishima sighs disappointedly, as Sero walks up to him, and offers him a helping hand. Kirishima looks at it for a moment, before grinning, revealing his shark-like teeth, accepting his help as he's helped to his feet.

"No hard feelings, right?" Sero asked.

"Of course!" Kirishima answered, still smiling.

Ben sighs as he wanders towards 1-A's sitting area, now wearing a clean and whole P.E. uniform. As he does, he accidentally bumps into Uraraka, who's presumably making her way to her waiting room. "Oh, sorry." He says, as he shakes his head to try and reinvigorate himself.

"It's fine." She responds under her breath, as she moves past him, seemingly trying to avoid his gaze. He turns to look at her as she walked away, looking at her with concern, until he remembers that she is going up against Bakugo, which made him even more concerned. He frowned, concidering tzlking to her, but he decided against it, as he turned away, continuing to make his way towards his sitting area.

Now, to match 7!

Iida and Yaoyorozu stood on opposite ends of the field, both in battle ready positions. Midnight cracks her whip, as Iida's enginies immediately rev up. Yaoyorozu's skin begins to glow, indicating she's activated her quirk, as some odd-looking foam begins to form from her arms. Iida takes off, planning to push Yaoyorozu out of bounds, but she throws the foam forwards, her skin still glowing as she forms shield a shield from her arm, just in case the foam fails.

The foam hits the ground, and Iida's just barely able to turn away from it and boost past, as it begins to expand. He circles it, and charges at Yaoyorozu, but she creates a metal staff from her palm, which hits him in the arm, making him flinch. She then tables the turns by charging into him, slamming her shield into his chest. He tries to back away and turn around to boost out of there, but she creates more foam from her arm, and throws it directly at him.

He tries to remove it, but it's too sticky, as it slowly expands, growing to fully cover his hands, half of his face and all of his torso. He almost falls back, but he narrows his eyes, as he charges her again. She once more readies her shield, but too her surprise, he sidesteps, charging past her, as he rams his elbow into her side, making her grit her teeth in pain. He then moves in close, letting the foam stick to her as well, sticking her to himself, as he spins around and rushes to the end of the stage.

She tries to stop his progress, by forming foam and letting it fall to the ground, but he avoids them by jumping. She even headbutts him, breaking his nose, but he toughens through it, as he reaches the end of the arena, he stops in his tracks, only letting Yaoyorozu's feet slide past the bounds.

"Momo Yaoyorozu is out of bounds! Tenya Iida will progress to the next round!"

Yaoyorozu frowns, as she looks down somberly, which Iida notices... mostly because he's inches from her face, and literally attached to her. "You did very well..." She looks up at him. "Your plan was well-though out, and I'm sure I would have been restrained, had I mascalculated my jumps. It was a solid plan." He paused. 'She would have been better off as the Class Representative.' He frowned weakly, as he thought.

She notices, and nods. "Yes, well... you didn't." He looks up at her. "You did an excelent job evading my attacks... I'd say you've earned your place as Class Rep." Iida pauses, before he smiles.

"Thank you... you are as kind as you are skilled." They remain quiet for a moment, before- "So... how do we... get out of this?"

Yaoyorozu doesn't seem to understand the question, before she remembers the two are literally stuck together. "Oh, right... ehm..."

So anyway, while they figure that out, Ben sits back down in the resting area, finding that Midoriya still hasn't returned. He sits down... only to get back up again, as he decides to check on Uraraka and Midoriya, who he guesses is with her. He rushes through the hallways of the building, until he finally reaches the resting room designated for her. He knocks, as he opens the door by an inch.

"Hey, is it cool if I-" Suddenly, the door was flung open by the one on the other end, as Ben was standing face to face with Bakugo. Ben stood there for a moment. "Eh... what are you doing in Uraraka's..." He looked to the sign by the door, before realizing his mistake. "Oh, sorry, wrong room." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry, I gotta go look fo-" Before he could even move a meter, Bakugo grabbed him by the arm.

"Hey, freak..." Ben turned to him, as he tried to pull his arm free.

"Eh... yeah?"

"You better not lose... alright bastard?" Bakugo spoke calmly, to the point that it was almost creepy.

"I... Who... What?" He cleared his throat. "Alright?" Bakugo finally let go of him, as he exited his resting room and began making his way towards the arena. Ben just stood there for a moment, before he heard a door opening behind him in the same hallway, as Uraraka stepped out, Midoriya following close behind. Uraraka began making her way to the arena like Bakugo, passing Ben without noticing him, her gaze locked onto the ground.

Ben walked up to Midoriya. "How is she doing?"

Midoriya looked to Ben. He thinks for a moment, before answering. "I'm not sure..." He paused. "But she's determined."

"Did you come up with a plan of attack?"

"She said she didn't want any help. She felt that she was lagging behind, like Iida."

For a moment, Ben stayed quiet as well. "Do you think she can win this?" He asked, turning around to see her dissapear from view.

"She has a plan..." He muttered, frowning, not sure if it'll be enough.

After a moment of silence, Ben smiles. "She has drive, and a very powerful quirk. With the right tactic, she has a shot! She just need to touch him once, and then he'll be easy to throw out of bounds! She's got this in the bag!" Midoriya stared at him silently, before smiling.

"Yeah... she's got this..."

"NOW THEN! I HOPE YOU'RE ALL EXCITED, CUZ IT'S TIME FOR THE FINAL MATCH FOR THE FIRST SET OF ROUNDS!" Mic roared. "NOW, LET'S SEE HOW THIS'LL GO! IN THIS CORNER, WE GOT THE EXPLOSIVE, SPIKY-HAIRED WOLVERINE, KATSUKI BAKUGO!" As he announced the teen, Bakugo gritted his teeth, mildly annoyed with Mic's description of him. "AND IN THIS CORNER, IT'S THE BRUNETTE LIGHTER THEN AIR! SHE'S A COSMIC RAY OF SUNSHINE, IT'S OCHAKO URARAKA!" Uraraka took a deep breath, sweat running down her face.

"You understand the rules, yes?" Midnight asked, the two nodding. She raised her whip. "Ready..." And cracked it. "Begin!"

Immediately, Uraraka took off, running towards Bakugo, staying close to the ground, her hands at the ready. "Giving up isn't an option!" She cried out, a determined scowl on her face. Bakugo simply narrowed his eyes, as he flexed his fingers.

"Die..." He slowly reeled his arm back, as steam began to pour from it.

She gritted her teeth. 'If I can dodge this, then I ca-' Before she could even finish her train of thought, a wave of flames rocked her, pushing her back. She cried out in pain, as Bakugo just stood their, hunched, as the ground was torn apart by the explosion, smoke and ash filling the arena.

Their classmates and many people in the audience felt rather uneasy by this. "Holy crap! A direct hit!" Ben looked at the smoke fill the arena. 'I know pretty much all quirk users have enhanced biology, but still...' He suddenly narrow his eyes, as he saw the smoke shift, as something seemed to rise from it... he didn't seem to be able to make it out.

"I saw it coming and I still couldn't dodge it..." Uraraka closed her eyes, covering her eyes from the smoke and debris.

"You should have given up when you had the chance..." He muttered as he flexed his fingers, cracking them. Suddenly, from out of the smoke something moved towards him from the side. "You can't beat me" He roared, raising his arm and sending an explosion towards them from above. But to his surprise, as the smoke settled, he realized it was a faint. Her P.E. jacket was pinned under his hand, as the smoke behind him shifted.

From it, Uraraka leapt forwards, her arm reeled back, ready to slam it into his back. 'Now's my chance! I can make him flo-' Bakugo spun around, waving his arm as an explosion sent her flying back, tearing up the ground. She grunted, as she slid to a stop. She looked up to see Bakugo step out of from the smoke.

"A faint..." He muttered, holding her jacket. She gritted her teeth as she rushed forwards, still staying close to the ground. "Cheap tricks won't work on me!" He roared, rocking her with another blast, damaging the ground further. The entire arena started to look like a haunted house with smoke instead of mist, Uraraka now being completely out of sight. Bakugo looked around, as she leapt out from behind, her hand at the ready.

He spun around, sending her flying with an explosion. From the smoke, she rushed out once more, only to be pushed back by Bakugo's attacks. She leapt out again, and again, and again, but no matter from what direction she came, Bakugo wouldn't relent, keeping her at bay with his explosions. Mic couldn't help but frown at the sight. "It seems like she's not taking breaks between her attacks, despite Bakugo's relentless defence... poor girl..." He muttered, his voice being surprisingly low.

From the audience, people, including pro heroes, were all looking down at the arena with discomfort. "Since her faint from earlier failed, she's gotten desperate..." A pro muttered, while other people and heroes in the audience continued talking, pretty much everyone pitied the girl, all while Monoma simply smiled smugly.

"I could see why people in the audience would fail to notice this, but professional heroes? It's almost laughable!" Monoma scoffed, making his classmates confused.

"What do you mean?" A guy with spiky, brown hair asked.

"Take a closer look." He said, refusing to elaborate, as he returned his focus to the arena.

Uraraka continued, relentless, as more and more explosions filled the arena. She was flung around like leaves in the wind, covered in scrapes, sears and scratches. From the crowd. A hero stood up. "I can't look at this anymore!" A man wearing a yellow, black and white suit, with a long cape and head-piece. "Are you really trying to be a hero? If you're so strong, just get her out of bounds! Stop toying with that poor girl!" The hero cried, giving the student two thumbs down.

Next to him, a female pro wearing a fuzzy costume covering her lower arms, chest and pelvic area, and resting from her nack was a mask resembling a dog's head also got up, as she began booing, raising her arms into the air. "Yeah!"

Bakugo simply stays on the offensive, not dialing back the power of his blasts despite the raging viewers, as Mic piped up. "THERE SEEMS TO BE BOOING COMING FROM THE CROWD, AND HONESTLY, I CAN'T HELP BUT AGREE WITH THEIR SENTI-!" He was interupted by an elbow to the face, as he cried out in pain, as Aizawa stole the microphone from him. "OUCH! WHAT'S THE DEAL ERESER GUY?!"

"YOU, THE ONES BOOING. ARE YOU A PRO?" Aizawa shouted, his loud voice being quite the contrast from his normally calm demeanor. "YOU SAY BAKUGO'S PLAYING AROUND. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A PRO? IF YOU ACTUALLY SAID THAT WITH A STRAIGHT FACE, THEN I MIGHT SUGGEST YOU SIMPLY HANG UP YOUR CAPE AND FIND A DIFFERENT CAREER PATH." Everyone in the stadium sit there, stunned. "BAKUGO IS STAYING ON THE DEFENSIVE BECAUSE HE KNOWS WHAT URARAKA IS CAPABLE OF. SHE'S ALREADY COME THIS FAR. HE'S DOING EVERYTHING HE CAN TO WIN."

As he speaks, Bakugo looks at Uraraka in disbelief. "How is she still standing..." He muttered, glaring at her.

She gasped, as she wiped off a trail of sweat from her face. "I think... it's time..." She said, as she raised her hands. "T... thank you... Bakugo... for not letting your guard down..." Bakugo looked at her, confused.

Monoma laughed again. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Bakugo couldn't possibly have noticed her plan, with the smoke filling the arena and his hunched stance, but with so many pros looking at them from above, none of them noticing... it's downright pathetic..." He laughed, as he raised his gaze. "As she charged, she stayed close to the ground, letting her easily touch it when she needed, even as Bakugo shreaded it into chunks, letting her make them weightless, floating them high into the sky..." As he said this, his classmates looked up, to see a massive cluster of debris floating high above the stadium. "Creating weapons for her..."

Bakugo looked up at the massive cluster of concrete, as Uraraka put her hands together. "Release..." The concrete immediately regained their weight as they began falling towards the ground, like tiny meteorites. She kneeled down, before charging once more, as Bakugo kept his gaze locked on the falling rocks. 'No matter what he does; whether he tries to dodge or counterattack, with all this debris around him, there's gonna have to be an opening!' She touched her arm, using her quirk to make herself weightless. Bakugo just stood there as she advanced, as he slowly raised his arms. 'I'll win this, and be just like Iida, Ben and De-'

Bakugo ignited his palms as an explosion erupted. The falling concrete above him were obliterated, as the shockwave sent everything his explosion missed flying, this including Uraraka, as she was thrown backwards, landing on her back. Bakugo sighed as smoke filled the arena. "I should have known that a friend of Deku... would be up to something..." He muttered, as Uraraka stared at him with a petrified epression.

"He destroyed all of them... in one blast..." She sputtered. She was getting weaker by the second, tears, snot and spit running down her face, her eyelids beginning to droop. But despite this... she was still standing. She got up, wiping her face, as she breathed heavily. "I'm not... giving up..."

Bakugo grinned. "Now we're talkin! Show me what you've got, Uraraka!" He roared, as he flexed his fingers. The two charged at one another, both of them flexing their figners, ready to attack... before one collapsed, as Uraraka fell forwards, collapsing from exhaustion. Bakugo slowed down, as he looked at her. "Tsk... things were just gettin' good..." He muttered.

Uraraka clawed at the ground. 'Come on...' Her dad's voice echoes through her head.

'I'd rather you do whatever you'd want to do... plus, if you get rich, we could go to hawaii or something!'

'Get up...' Her own words return to her mind.

'I'll become a pro and make lots of money, so my family may get an easy life!'

"I... have to... get... up..." She groaned, before losing her grip, and passing out.

Midnight looks at her for a moment, before cracking her whip. "Ochako Uraraka is incapacitated! Katsuki Bakugo advances to the next round." She shouted, as Bakugo dug his hands into his pocket and walked away.

"AND THERE GOES THE LAST MATCH OF THE FIRST ROUND! THIS IS GONNA BE SOME VERY INTERESTING MATCH-UPS IN THESE UPCOMING MATCHES!" Mic roared, trying to hide his dissapointment in Bakugo's win, as to avoid a lecture from Aizawa.

"Hmm..." His announcing partner hummed, tired.

As Mic was babbling, Ben and Midoriya were walking towards the Nurse's office to check on Uraraka... and Iida, who was still stuck to the foam. They were all concerned for Uraraka's well being, both physically and mentally. Midoriya most of all, as he was the only one to speak with her before the match. He was so distracted by this, that he didn't even notice that he wlaked straight into someone. "Oh, I'm s-"

"Deku..." Bakugo muttered, glaring at him.

"KACCHAN!" He cried, petrified. "I'M SO SORRY, I DIDN'T MEAN TO DISTURB YOU, IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAI-"

"That plan of her's... that was you, right..." Midoriya immediately regained his composure. "You were the one who come up with that stupid tactic." He began walking, pushing past him and his buddies. "Should have guessed... you always need to be so damn annoyi-"

"I didn't..." He stopped in his tracks to look at Midoriya. "She came up with that plan, all on her own..." He said, looking at Bakugo with a frown. "The reason you found it annoying, was because Uraraka almost got you, wasn't it... she was almost good enough to beat you, right?"

Bakugo stared at him for a moment, before turning away. "You know nothing, moron..." He muttered, before turning away and leaving, making his way to class 1-A's seating area.

Midoriya kept his tough-guy face up, until Bakugo was out of sight, at which point he exhailed. "I c-can't believe I just talked back to him..."

Ben patted him on the shoulder. "Nice work dude! You showed him what for!" He said, grinning. "It means you're finally growing some balls!"

Midoriya continued to look at him, before smiling. "Thanks..." Ben nodded, as ge turned back around, and continued to make his way towards the nurse's office, Midoriya following close behind.

Bakugo finally reached his class' seating area. "Hey Bakugo!" Sero shouted, catching his attention. "That must have been pretty tough, huh? Playing the bad guy, and all."

"Despite it being because of the match-up, you were a pretty great villain Bakugo, ribbit!" Tsu added.

"Shut up, already..." Bakugo muttered, walking to his seat.

"Still, that was pretty hard to see..." Kaminari said, looking at Bakugo unhappily. "Hitting a frail girl like that with all those explosions... it was hard to look at."

Bakugo side-eyed him for a moment, before he took a seat. "I would call that girl anything but frail..." He muttered, as he crossed his arms.
