It was wet rainy Day. And As the leaves were blowing ever so gently with the wind there was a strange feeling that was in the air and two unlikely fates would soon cross the passage of time forever.

Kimetsu No Yaiba: Demon Slayer

(Alternate version of the storyline after the defeat of Muzan Kibutsuji, where majority of the demon slayer's survived and are now adjusting to a world without demons)

This is my first Fanfiction so please go easy on me I was making this up as I go along off the strength of muscle memory

It has been a year since the defeat of Muzan Kibutsuji, and a lot of sacrifices were made after the horrific and gruesome battle waged against the big bad demon himself by all the demon corp in a last ditch effort to destroy him. With the sacrifice of so many lives as well as the leader of the demon corp Ubuyashiki Kagaya passed away, and Succeeded by his son Ubuyashiki Kiriya, The demon slayer band is finally disbanded. And everyone is able to return home and enjoy the peace of the world that was fought So many long years to achieve.

A life without the fear of demons, it was something that seemed almost unrealistic for so long because for so many years in the past the war against the demons has been ongoing with no end in sight. It seemed like the more demon slayers kill demons, the more the demons killed demon slayers, as well as regular civilians. The sense of normalcy was a feeling that was new just like riding your bike for the very first time. No more did people have to walk the streets in the middle of the night with the fear of monsters coming to kill them and eat them. No more gruesome deaths and burying friends and love ones, No more sword training And sharpening your skills to protect yourself. For the first time in a long time to people who were aware of demons roaming the night, finally they were free.

-Butterfly Mansion-

Shinobu POV:

The rain was coming down ever so strongly on the house of the butterfly mansion owned by the kocho family, you could hear the sound of the rain splashing against the ground and water fountains as our very own insect pillar, Shinobu Kocho was looking on with a unsure expression in view, and heavy emotions within her heart. She was very determined in her fight against Upper Rank Demon #2, Doma to sacrifice herself in the fight in the hopes of destroying him as well as avenging her older sister Kanae Kocho. With the combined strength of her little adopted sister, Kanao Tsuyuri and Inosuke Hashibira they were finally able to finally defeat Doma. In the final battle against Muzan, she didn't really contribute as far as actually fighting him but more so of helping the medical team keep people alive as well as the demon slayers to continue the fight well pass their limits. Shinobu couldn't help but think back to everything up till now and all the battles,sacrifices, and tears shed to finally get to this point. It was unbelievable to say the least, and somewhere within her heart, she hadn't really adjusted to a life where things were...normal again, she would even sometimes at night carry her sword with her for fear of any demons that might have survived. Sleeping at night was a challenge to itself because she would have dreams back to her fight with Doma, being absorbed and not being able to see her family grow up without her it was a fear she held very deep within her heart, behind a smile she would never express. The only thing that really kept her going was the love of her adopted sister, and the duties of keeping up the mansion, it kept her mind busy. Also, some of the other Hashira's would stop by For medical supplies and herbs and spices, things of that nature and would occasionally stop by to have a chat before going. Two hashira's that were very consistent stopping by more than the rest was former "Love Hashira" Mitsuri Kanroji, and surprisingly enough The "Water Hashira" Giyu Tomioka.

Shinobu and Mitsuri were always pretty cool with each other since their days back in the demon slayer corps, especially with them being the only two female Hashira's at the time. Mitsuri would come by and check on Shinobu, and spend some time with her and go out into town having a girls night out and enjoying the benefits of living in a demon free world. Mitsuri was also excited to let Shinobu know how her relationship with the "Snake Hashira" Obanai Iguro was going, the two Really hit it off with each other about four months after the final fight with Muzan and were engaged living in their own home together. Shinobu was really grateful for Mitsuri because not only has she been a big help with the mansion and her sister, it was also comforting to talk to someone about her feelings and relating with someone who was there during the final fight with Muzan. It pained Shinobu that her former Hashira friends time was limited due to the fact that they activated their "slayers mark" and wasn't expected to live pass 25 years-old. Aside from the retired "Sound Hashira" Tengen Uzui only him and Shinobu were expected to live a longer life pass their friends. So she definitely enjoyed their company whenever she could.

The Entire demon slayer corps, had been through hell and it was so relieving to know it was over. All these thoughts going through her head it was, keeping her in a daze, physically she was here, but mentally it was like she wasn't. Kanao was in and out the mansion, staying over with Tanjiro near his hometown. And Nezuko finally became human again, and after sometime Nezuko and Zenitsu were in the process of moving in together on their own. Shinobu still couldn't believe that someone as eccentric as Zenitsu scored with Nezuko but she remembered the talk she had with her once the fight was over. And Nezuko said that even though she was still a demon at the time, she still retained her feelings, and emotions, and she remembered all her adventures with the guys and took a interest in him when they were fighting the demon Enma on the Mugen Train. Inosuke Hashibira would often stop by the house to hang with her house attendant Kanzaki Aoi. And they were getting along closely, and she saw sparks between the two and couldn't help but laugh to herself since Inosuke was so clueless when it came to romance so Aoi had her work cut out for her.

As Shinobu was walking through the quiet mansion alone doing some late night cleaning and restocking, she felt her mind wondering again. She stood over by the edge of the walkway, and saw a puddle of water formed. As she looked into it and saw her own reflection for what seemed like a few minutes, she saw her image slowly being changed to none other than her crush, Giyu Tomioka, her face became a soft pink as she blushed and looked into it more deeply thinking about him. She never really had much interest in guys too much before because of the roles she had to fill with her older sister's passing keeping her busy as well as her title as a Hashira. Shinobu was actually one of the main pillars if not the only one who would actually be paired up with Giyu a lot to go on mission. At first she didn't think much of him, because he was weird, and anti-social, and quiet, not a man of many words, and when he did speak it was brief. She was actually the only one who picked on him a lot out of curiosity, not to be rude,(sometimes) but mainly to get reactions from him. Some attempts worked while others didn't. Its seemed to her Giyu didn't mind because he would Ignore her most of the time. He was always so dense and focused on his work. She wondered what he did for fun outside of hunting demons. She couldn't lie to herself though she respected his strength and sense of duty he carried out while on missions. His strength as a Water Pillar was definitely well deserved and earned. Sometimes when she was off duty in the yard working on her forms practicing ,Giyu would stop by and pick up supplies before heading out on missions and actually on a few occasions help out Shinobu with her Insect breathing since it was a branch taken from water breathing. So in a way, both of them were actually a good pair oddly enough. And she low key loved the way his eyes were blue like the ocean. She would get lost in them sometimes just talking to him so teasing him was a way of keeping her feelings on the down low, if anyone else caught wind of her liking the quiet Hashira. Oddly enough at least to her, Giyu had a weird charm about him that she was attracted too. And he played a big role in the final fight she was glad to know he was still alive as well as her sister. Getting too lost in thought, she snapped back to reality and smacked both her cheeks with her hands and spoke to herself.

Shinobu:(Sigh)Damnit. Why is it every time I see his face, I get all flustered and embarrassed ? That fool wouldn't know if a girl liked him if she wrote it on a wall for him. Knowing how dense he can be...well I suppose now that since we have free time now would be just a good enough time as ever to tell him how I feel about him. Question is, how? He's not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to romance. Honestly speaking I'm not too good at it myself, but I do remember getting tips from big sister back in the day. Maybe I should ask Mitsuri and get some advice from her since she IS IN A RELATIONSHIP after all. I'll treat her to lunch and that way she can throw some pointers my way.

Later on she goes into her room, and writes a letter to Mitsuri and calls for her crow, and attaches it and send the crow on its way. Even with the demon slayer corps disbanded they were still able to keep their crows as as a gift to stay communicated with each other. And a lot of Ex-demons slayers/pillars still use them. Even though she doesn't all see the others as much as she would like, the time spent together was like a family to the pillars, and everyone did use the crows to send messages. So she does have letters from her former comrades so that itself was still comforting to say the least. After watching the crow disappear into the night sky wit her letter in tow, she herself began to relax and took a nice long stretch yawning finally getting comfortable.

Shinobu: Nothing to do now, but wait for her response...I can't believe I'm actually going through with wanting to date that fool. But it's just like my sister use to say, "love is uncertain, but it's that Exact uncertainty that makes it worth fighting for". I just pray that faith is on my side.

With that out of the way, Shinobu feels the heaviness of sleep start to overtake her. So she undress out of her clothes. Leaving nothing on but her purple butterfly design bra and underwear. She takes out her butterfly hair pin as her hair falls down a little pass her shoulders. She goes in her closet and reaches for her blue moon-style Night Gown when she pauses for a moment and looks at her haori. She takes a deep breath at the realization, and grabs her gown and slips into bed. As she lays in bed, listening to the rain that sounding like it's starting to slow down, her eyes close inch by inch. Just as she's bout to fall into dream land, through the small bit of opening she has left, she sees the spirit of her deceased sister, Kanae Kocho smiling at her and slowing turning her back on her walking away from her. With the last of tired strength she lifts up her arm as a single tear fall out one of her eyes she whisper softly .. "Don't Go".

Well how did you like that Family, I hope that was not to bad for my first story. I didn't wanna do TOO much with it just yet because there are some more things I want to reveal later on down the story. But I hope you all enjoyed what I Presented and you are looking forward to the next chapter which will be coming REAL SOON, i promise.

This actually has EVEN ME excited, to see how this well develop.
