Ominous Flame
chapter 1
Author Notes: I've been wanting to do this series for ages! But busy bee be busy lol. Now im not sure how this is going to go. But i'm a huge fan of frontier-its my favorite digimon series since my childhood~ But there are two questions that i wanted for this series~
What would happen if...Takuya never made it to the train station? What would happen if...it was Takuya that fell under Cherubimon's corruption? Well time to find out.
And originally i was going to do around their ages from the show-but we're uping the ages a bit~ Because swears and violence lol. Let's go! I do not own Digimon!
3rd P.O.V
Just a little farther. They extend their arms, tensing their fingers, all for the chance of a deliciousness that truly comes once in a blue moon. "No sneaking bites you two!" Both individuals in question flinch as their mother shouts despite her back facing them. It was incredible how sharp her senses were.
Yuriko Kanbara's eyes were in the fridge, frowning as she searches for the ingredients needed for dinner. Yet despite being in such a position she was still able to catch her boys before they were able to get a free taste test of Shinya's birthday cake. "Takuya, Shinya!" A chuckle escapes her while her sons groan in protest.
Like this wasn't their first attempt. Please. "But mom-can't we have just one bite? It looks so good!" She was well aware of how convincing her eldest was. The innocent look he gave her could melt several girls at his school.
Sadly for him it wasn't happening. "No Takuya. We'll have cake after dinner when your father comes home from work." Shinya snorts as his brother snaps his fingers with a small tsk.
Their mission was a failure. This time. "There's always your birthday big brother~" They share a grin as plans already begin to form in their minds. "That's nice boys but I'd suggest you focus on your chores if you want any cake at all tonight." With that threat hanging in the air Shinya squeaks before rushing into his room.
Knowing fully well she WILL check to make sure his bedroom was indeed clean. Takuya doesn't immediately flee the room as expected, instead he approaches his struggling mother, grabbing all the veggies that were about ready to fall out of her hands. With a single movement the produce was laid onto the counter. "Mom..."
There was a knowing look in her gaze as the boy fidgets in place. Waiting was not his specialty, being more on the impulsive side. But he did he best not to bounce up and down as he read through his messages on his phone.
His brows furrowing when a question was suddenly sent to him. One that left him both mystified and puzzled as he had no idea who the sender was. And for once it wasn't any sort of spam nonsense that he usually gets.
'Do you wish to go on an adventure? And fulfill your destiny?'
Yes. No.
"Ahem..." The preteen blushes, startled as his finger accidently pressed the 'No' option. His mother huffs at him, exasperated but smiling, still holding the money out for him to take. Unlike the birthday boy, the fourteen year old had already finished all his assigned chores.
He even did some extra errands on the side just for this moment. He hesitates for a moment before finally grabbing it from her hand. "Here's a twenty. Get him something nice." Takuya gave a toothy grin as he gave her a swift hug. "You got it~" This year he wanted to do something different.
This time he was going to get something for Shinya on his own. "Thanks mom." A swift peck on the cheek, a rush to his room to grab his hat, goggles and gloves and he was off. "Be back soon~ No goofing off now."
Determination burned in his eyes as he made a mad dash on the sidewalk. He had plenty of time before the little birthday party his parents were going to throw his brother started. In reality there was really no need to rush.
But there was a game that the passionate preteen had been eyeing for awhile now. He knew that it was just the type of thing younger sibling would like. The shopkeeper promised to hold onto it for him. And now after working three weeks straight on extra chores for his parents, Takuya finally had enough to buy it.
There was nothing that could wipe off the smirk on his face, knowing all the fun that was going down later today. For a brief moment his mind wanders back to the strange email he received. Adventure? Destiny? It was a weird question to be sure. If anything it sounded pretty cool. Like something out of a tv show or manga.
However this was the real world. Though he was still young, he believed that life was what you make of it. The adventure was what you chose to do in life. It was why he treated his sneaking to get a taste of Shinya's birthday cake like a mission.
It was why he did a cool pose every time he got past his friends to score a goal in soccer. Life was all about accepting yourself and enjoying both the big, and small things in life. And that's what he did. "Almost there!" There was a harsh screech from tires as the sun temporarily blinded the boy.
"Hey look out!" His vision returned, only to go black as something slammed against his body. He literally didn't know what hit him. "Oh no!" Screams hit his ears as his back fell onto hard ground. Gravel embedding into his skin. "Somebody call for help!" Hands roughly grabbed at his pained form.
The agony he was in so intense he couldn't even utter a sound. "Hang in there!" His sense of hearing and touch was fading away-he was fading away. Was he going to die? Without seeing his family ever again?
"Do you want to live?"
A voice echoed in his mind. Despite trying his best he couldn't pin point who it was. It didn't sound familiar to him at all. Whoever it was though had a deep voice, and held a rough undertone. As if the person hasn't spoken in awhile. They start talking again, asking the same question again. Knowing time was of the essence.
"Yes or no. Do you want to live?"
It was a stupid question. Of course he wanted to. He didn't even get a chance to buy the present he wanted to for his brother. There was so much he wanted-no-so much he NEEDED to do. He couldn't die now. But there was a tense silence.
Suddenly it hit him, they were waiting for him to verbally respond. "Yes. I want to live." Within the shadows of his thoughts, a large, ominous figure with yellow eyes laughed over his injured frame.
"Very well. I shall help you." Silhouettes of hands started slowly covering Takuya one by one...swallowing him whole. Yet there was no pain to be found from their touch, he was completely numb. "Welcome my precious warrior."
Then all of sudden there was fire.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!"
It was too much.
"Yessss scream my warrior. Release your anguish and pain."
From the inside out he felt flames lick at his form.
"Bring forth your passion. Your power!"
He couldn't think.
"Forget about the realm of humans!"
But he could feel.
"Serve me as my soldier of flame!"
And that feeling was...anger.
"Protect your master Shagumon."
And just like that Takuya Kanbara was gone.
In his place, an elemental encased in black and silver armor, pure white hair and red eyes covered in dark purple-almost black flames kneels at the feet of his creator.
"As you command Lord Cherubimon."
to be continued
Author Notes: You gotta love how you tell your co-author about the projects you've been working on in the background and totally forgets until all of the documents are there literally hitting him right in the face lol.
Well boys and girls here is the beginning of a new series. Keep in mind that this won't necessarily follow the canonicity of the anime, there is definitely a timeline that somewhat follows the episodes all mainly from Takuya's perspective. Oh and also...
Shadow+Agunimon=Shagumon
With that ladies and gents we're done for now. If you guys like this brand new series please feel free to fav/follow/review as it would mean a crap ton to see the support. I've been working on this in the background so i got a good amount of chappys saved up so be sure to see updates lol. Tchao for now.
