She'd never been a part of anything. She remembered Cordy saying that she could be in a room full of people and still feel lonely. Well, that's not true; she had before her 'calling'. She didn't want to think she was but she knew it. She understood that now, knowing she had to stand and die alone in the end: she was a slayer it was how they all went. She had the most amazing friends, they were kind, loyal funny and strong people, even had a sister, but when the end came she knew it would juts be her - alone…
At first she didn't accept it but standing telling Dawn that the hardest thing in the world would be to live in it, she knew it was true. She felt Dawns body shake at the fear and despair of knowing what she was about to die for her. She knew it was the right thing to do and she wasn't scared: she felt calm, at peace. She ushered Dawn along the metal framework. She looked down at her friends fighting, getting hurt. She felt such love and admiration towards them. She looked at the end. Within minutes it would be over. She'd take her final breath, her friends and sister would move on and she'd become another name in a legend that would last forever. She smiled, and ran. She felt all memories of her life flash before her. Her mum and dad, her first time at Sunnydale, meeting Giles and the rest of her gang, fighting Faith, losing Angel, the deaths of many people she knew because they'd known her. She thought of the future of her family and friends how they'd be safer without her in many respects: no slayer meant fewer demons for her friends to fight. She jumped thanking someone for everything she'd had.
She knew that her death would end the suffering of Glory. The end of one person could do such good. That's how she knew she'd always been alone.
She felt free liberated and at peace. She felt the life fall from her and she knew she'd be ok. She knew that where she was going she'd never be alone again. She was going to a place where she wasn't the slayer but was Buffy Ann Summers. She was going to her mum…………..
