Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 71 of God of Lies and Mischief and the Woman of Many Faces. Part of this chapter is purely mine, but there is part added from Dr. Strange which happens after the movie because Everleigh being who she is could no longer hide from what she felt. This is pretty much another OG chapter which I think that you guys are probably liking quite a bit. Well at least I hope you are. Thank you to those who have left reviews for this story. Chapter 71

Everleigh took a breath as she slowly got out of her car that she had parked outside of a large building. She bit her lower lip softly wondering why she felt like she needed to be led to this building. She knew that the building was just some old building in New York, but it looked like it was up to date. She ran her hand through her red hair as she slowly walked up to 177A Bleecker Street. Her brow quirked a little as she slowly made her way up the stairs.

She put her keys in her pocket as she slowly stopped at the door. She slowly reached up and slowly opened the door. Her brows furrowed together as it slowly slid open. She couldn't help but wonder why this place wasn't locked up and why she had a feeling that it was alright for her to come inside of the building. She slowly went inside of the building before the door slowly shut behind her. She turned sharply to see the door shut on its own without any help.

She looked around slowly wondering what this place was. It piqued her interest to figure out what this place was. She could feel the magic thrumming through the place and it made her feel at ease that she was in a good place where magic was easily accepted.

A man floated down the stairs with a cape easily helping him fly down the steps. "I knew sooner or later you would arrive here."

Everleigh turned her head seeing the man floating down the stairs. Her brows furrowed slightly as he offered her a cheeky smile. "Who are you?" She questioned grasping the necklace that she wore around her neck that was a gift from Natasha a while ago.

"Miss Vincin, my name is Steven Strange." He said introducing himself to the young woman. "You don't have to hide your true form from me."

Everleigh shifted back into her true form. She blinked a few times in confusion. "You know I can do that?"

"I know you." Doctor Strange said as he came closer to her. "You were brought here by feeling the magic that flows through this place."

Everleigh looked up into his blue eyes, her brows creasing a bit. "But I couldn't feel this place before."

"Now, I'm not sure of why you couldn't feel this place before."

"So what I've been feeling for the last week…"

"All me I'm afraid."

Everleigh gripped her hands tightly at her sides. "Why hide it if you wanted me to stumble upon this place."

"I knew that you would feel this place. Just like you have felt magic in the past."

Everleigh blinked a few times, slightly confused.

"I am sure you know what I'm talking about…"

"Loki… Wanda."

Doctor Strange nodded his head. He knew that the young woman was confused of why he knew such things, but he knew that soon enough she would learn. He knew that she knew something much deeper than she had let on and he knew that she would probably lie about knowing such things if it came to protecting people. He knew in her line of work, well what was left of it, that lying was something that was easier to do than anything else.

"So you're saying my magic hones in on other magic that is out there in the world."

"Indeed."

Everleigh pursed her lips in thought wondering if her abilities that she got from the experimentation was because of her magic trying to strengthen what was given to her. "And me changing forms."

"Hm?"

"Is it because of my magic?"

Doctor Strange looked at her knowing that she was having a hard time with the whole thing. "If I'm being honest."

Everleigh let out a soft laugh. "I would prefer it." She pointed out to the cloak wearing man.

"I don't really know why you can change your forms, let alone turn invisible."

"Invisible is from my magic." She pointed out looking at him.

Doctor Strange blinked a few times in confusion. "It is?"

Everleigh nodded her head. "Yes, it is. But whatever I felt here… the danger… is it gone?"

"Yes, it's gone, for now until something new arises."

Everleigh nodded her head once again in understanding. She was thankful that whatever she felt was gone and they wouldn't have to deal with it. "Good. That's good. I don't think I could handle another blow like I've dealt with in the past."

"You are stronger than what you know, Miss Vincin."

"Call me Everleigh, Doctor."

Doctor Strange nodded his head. "Everleigh." He said testing the name out on his tongue which he had to admit was better sounding than Miss Vincin or Agent Vincin which he had avoided calling her. "You are stronger than what you let on to be. And you'll be stronger than what your teammates will ever know."

I've taken a lot of time trying my best to write this chapter out and make it look good and hopefully it's not all that choppy. Fingers crossed with that one.
