~ The Dream ~

I had camped out with Toothless a night before Dragon Training and had a strange dream of a place with a grand tower at the centre of it and dragons and humans unified in hopes of surviving coming disaster. One that would be cold and freeze life's ability to thrive.

However, this place will be the pinnacle of life's persistence and will state to the world that life will remain. The dream I had gave me the knowledge to construct it and to survive the cold. But it won't be the only thing keeping me and my friend alive, but my morals and social ability will be tested harshly.

A storm rages in the south so the best direction to go is North.

And only one sentence that stuck out with the schematics was that

"The City Must Survive"

~ End ~

Prologue

Hiccup headed to Gothi before dragon training to get more knowledge on the meaning of this dream. Gobber came along due to Hiccup wasn't capable of reading Gothi's writing but also wanted to make sure Hiccup was alright. Gothi welcomed the two in.

"Thanks, Gothi for letting us in." Hiccup said to which Gothi smiled in return and wrote down something.

Gobber then translated, "Ye welcome. Now 'iccup what seems to be the problem?"

Hiccup then answered, "Last night I had a strange dream of a place." Gothi then gestured to Hiccup to continue.

Hiccup then began to describe, "This village had a tower at the centre of it and fire blazed inside and the village was covered in snow, and it was far north. Also, in my dream I saw the schematics of the tower and other things and one sentence that stuck out. 'The City Must Survive'."

Gothic thought on it and wrote down something else and Gobber translated, "Ye must've had a provision." Then got whacked by Gothi and he corrected himself, "Vision! Ye must've had a vision."

Gobber then commented, "So, this strange place is very interesting we have to see it one day." Then said, "Anyway, we better be off dragon train to keep up the good work."

~ Time Past ~

Days had passed and Hiccup had assembled a thermal suit and drew up the tower's schematics. Then after a fateful incident Hiccup and Stoick had an argument about Hiccup's training.

Stoick demand aggressively, "So, what I saw in the ring a trick a lie."

Hiccup replied, "I never wanted it to go that way. I just wanted Berk to see that dragons aren't what we think they are."

Stoick said aggressively, "Dragons are mindless creatures. You could've been killed."

Hiccup's rage and hatred got control over him, and he replied back, "Now you care about me. What about the last 10 years of me being bullied. Gobber was the only person who cared about me in this forsaken place. Recently, I had just thought of leaving Berk and I'd only have to tell one person and then leave and no-one else would be the wiser."

Stoick barked back, "You think surviving is easy, you wouldn't last a day."

Hiccup then said with vigour, "I'll prove to you that I can and even if you are right then you wouldn't have to look for me. Goodbye Stoick." He then storms out the room.

Hiccup then goes to the forge and sees Gobber there and opens up, "Hey, Gobber I hate to tell you this but I'm leaving Berk and more than likely never coming back."

Gobber was shocked but sighed then said, "I wish you'd reconsider but I suppose ye already done that. But can I just get proof you'd be safe."

Hiccup replied, "Just have faith Gobber."

First light had broken and the Berkians had just a woken and Gobber felt something was off when he had started up the forge and realised that Hiccup must've left, and no-one was the wiser not even Stoick. It was only when the twins and Snotlout came to attempt beat him up and realise he wasn't there.

Snotlout ran to Stoick and asked, "Hey Chief, do you know where Hiccup is?"

Stoick answered, "He should be at the forge."

Tuffnut replied, "Well, he isn't there."

Stoick then ran to Gobber and asked, "Gobber have you see Hiccup?"

Gobber replied, "I only saw 'em last night and sense his not here he must've left during the night."

Stoick said back, "And you didn't try to stop him."

Gobber replied, "His as stubborn as you and what he lacks in strength he makes up for in his smarts. If he can't beat me with his own strength, he could just use one of his inventions to do the job."

Snotlout asked, "Any idea where he was heading?"

Gobber answered, "He never told me, nor could I see where the lad was going. He just said, 'have faith'." He then sighs and says, "I sure hope his alright though."

~ Far North of Berk ~

The storm battered against Hiccup and Toothless as they approach the place that would be the foundations of the tower. Hope was the only thing that drove the duo forward and when they reached the foundations and construction of the city's heart began. After a month the bottom section was finished, and another month passed, and the generator was finished.

Hiccup said to his best friend after learning Draconic from his friend, "Let's hope this works bud."

Toothless replied, "Hard to see how it wouldn't."

And with a single gesture Toothless lit the furnace inside the generator and it roared to life. Light flooded the area as well as warmth.

Hiccup said, "The pinnacle of life's defiance and will to survive against the overwhelming odds."

Days later people who've lost homes and were scared were found by Hiccup and his Night Fury taken to the generator and protected them unfortunately the price of saving them was paid several times but those who survived were given aid and settled at the tower and the city grew and grew.

The accelerated growth was due to those who were saved from the dragon hunters. But then the winter storm struck once more, and the first tragedy struck when Hiccup and Toothless were bring over two thousand rescued dragons and barely made it to city with less than sixty dragons.

Hiccup had made a new system to prevent this from happening. He also made sure to prepare for the great storm that he had survived before with Toothless. Because the frost is coming and for Hiccup and Toothless to stop it, they must survive first.
