She Wakes

By: Alex Carrion

Based on "The Matrix" by Larry and Andy Wachowski

Lyrics adapted from "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)" by Orgy

"This is the world as it was at the end of the twenty-first century."

She's lost in coma where it's beautiful,
intoxicated from the deep sleep, deep sleep.

"It exists now only as a computer generated program that we call the Matrix."

Do you wonder what it's like,
living in a permanent imagination?

"You've been living in a dream world, Trinity."

Sleeping to escape reality, but you like it like that.

She grappled the chair that sat in front of her. "How could this be?" she thought, "This…this can't be…!"
"Be what? Real?"

Guilty by design,
she's nothing more then fiction.
She dreams in digital,
cause it's better then nothing.
Now that control is gone,
It seems unreal,
She's dreaming in digital.
She dreams in digital.

"Why…why did this happen?" begged Trinity.

And your pixel army can't save you now,
my finger's on the kill switch

"Oh jesus…nobody exists…not mom…not dad?" exclaimed Trinity as she curled up on the floor of the construct.

I remember I used to compose your dreams,
control your dreams.

"I never said this would be easy, Trinity…"

and don't be afraid to expose yourself,
before I shut you down.

"…I just said it would be the truth."

You made some changes since the virus caught you sleeping.

A girl of thirteen laid on the floor. Everything she ever knew is never happened. Everyone she ever knew never existed. Now alone she did the only she could she had control over…she screamed.

Guilty by design,
she's nothing more then fiction.
She dreams in digital,
cause it's better then nothing.
Now that control is gone,
it seems unreal,
She's dreaming in digital.
she dreams in digital.
