When I first laid my eyes on you I saw a boy,
Whose mind was more complicated than those of older,
I could sense the power emanating from you,
Though the world was yet blissfully oblivious.
You had this darkness deep inside you,
That should have left no one blind,
Yet none really saw what you were,
Not one knew you wore a façade of innocence.
Even I could not say what you were to become,
Though I tried I could not see into your heart,
Ever since then you turned away from me,
Not trusting me for trying to understand.
Knowledge you craved more than anything,
Your never-ending quest it was.
You desired to know the truths of the world,
And seek out the answer to immortality.
Deeper and deeper into darkness you sank,
For there were answers that light could not give,
The further you went the more there was to seek,
And the stronger the addiction grew.
Until one day there was no way back.
